Display Bank Account Type on Banks Overview

Hello,
I am on EP7.0 ERP05 NW04s and want to add a field Bank Account Type on the ESS Bank Overview Page under Account Number ...I tried the follwoing code in the Bizcard overview page -- wdDoModifyView method
String bizcardField1 = wdThis.wdGetAPI().getComponent().getTextAccessor().getText("BizcardField1");
String bizcardField2 = wdThis.wdGetAPI().getComponent().getTextAccessor().getText("BizcardField2");
String bizcardField3 = wdThis.wdGetAPI().getComponent().getTextAccessor().getText("BizcardField3");
String bizcardField4 = wdThis.wdGetAPI().getComponent().getTextAccessor().getText("BizcardField4");
String bizcardField5 = wdThis.wdGetAPI().getComponent().getTextAccessor().getText("BizcardField5");
//Code to add field Bank Account Type on the Overview Page
fieldInfo = new BizcardFieldInfo[] { new BizcardFieldInfo(bizcardField1, "Emftx"),
new BizcardFieldInfo(bizcardField2, "Banka"),
new BizcardFieldInfo(bizcardField3, "Bankn"),
new BizcardFieldInfo(bizcardField4, "Bkont")
When I actually run this code I get the field Account Number type but with a number as 01 or 02 ,this is because in the backend it is stored like that, ...what;s the way to show Checking or Savings rather than numbers...
Any help would be highly appreciated..

Sharadha,
Actually I modified the Overview Helper.java file in ess~per application at the time when the Text is set for the TextView like :
if(fieldText.equalsIgnoreCase("01"))
textView.setText("Checking");
else if(fieldText.equalsIgnoreCase("02"))
textView.setText("Savings");
else
textView.setText(fieldText);
but still it shows up as 01 or 02 on the page...
Please help.

  • Bank Account Types

    Hi All,
    I need your suggestion regarding the Account type filed in Bank Accounts Screen.
    Navigation for it is : Payables responsibility ->payables-> banks-> bank Accounts.
    The field is "BANK_ACCOUNT_TYPE". Actually it is a free flow text. My requirment is that i need to add a list of values or validate the values entered by users. How could i achieve it?
    Is that possible for me to add a List of values for the field through Personalisation?
    Please suggest me some solution through which i could achieve it?
    Regards
    Santhosh

    Hi, try to add a LOOKUP_TYPES
    Payables Manager  setup lookupspayables
    Query “ACCOUNT TYPE” and try to add new code, otherwise adapt existing code.
    Test all.

  • Displaying Accounts and Account Type in Excel

    We have associated "Account Type" attribute to GL_Accounts Dimension so that they can appear as two separate columns in Excel. Is there another way to do this without using Attributes?<BR>For example, in excel, we are able to pull :<BR><BR>GL_account Account Type<BR>1011 Cash<BR>2000 Inventory<BR><BR>

    Indeed, two siblings may <u>not</u> have the same name (nor the same alias).<BR><BR>You may have to consider using attributes on your Accounts dimension members which, of course, demands that the Accounts dimension is sparse. This potentially complicates calculation order, dynamic calcs, second passes, etc.<BR><BR>By the way, are these accounting-savvy people? It seems strange to me that an accountant doesn't understand which account type each account is without providing an on-screen reference.

  • EBS - Posting Area 2 no longer determines Account type & GL account

    Hello all,
    I'm looking for some help/advise on Electronic bank statement processing.  I suspect this has been caused by upgrade to EHP6, but I have not found any notes to help me.
    Relating to inter-company payments.
    We have an issue where posting area 2 is no longer determining the Account symbol & account type based on a search string, which results in error message F5 263 - difference too large for clearing.
    This then means the team have to manually post process these items, where as before this was automatic, obviously they are not happy.
    The search string is still working as I can see the correct internal transaction has been determined when reviewing the item in FEBA that should have posted automatically.
    Prior to the payment coming through on the bank statement the finance team post a DZ customer clearing document with credit entry posted to a sub GL bank account, this document quotes the payment document number in the XBLNR reference field.
    Through debug I have found that POST_INTERFACE_CLEARING is not receiving the GL account or the Account type when it gets to the FB05 screen to search for the related item to clear in the sub GL.
    Anybody else encountered this & found a way to fix it?
    Thank you
    Steve

    Hi Raghav,
    Thanks for the advice, I had found this note during my search but I'm not convinced it is the answer.
    Our search string rule is set to use All interpretation algorithms & I've run the bank statement with the ranges for BELNR & XBLNR specified.  I don't want to have a GL tolerance & posting to an alternative account as that changes the business process & would require a new GL account for this purpose.
    I just want it to behave like it did before EHP6.

    line item. The G/L account is run with open items.

      Account Management in Company Code
       Open Item Management  (please review the F1 help on this field)
    F1 Help.
    Indicator: Open Item Management
    Determines that open items are managed for this account.
    Use
    Items posted to accounts managed on an open
    item basis are marked as open or cleared.
    The balance of these accounts is always
    equal to the balance of the open items.
    Examples
    Accounts that ARE managed on an open item basis include:
    Clearing accounts:
    Bank clearing account
    Payroll clearing account
    Cash discount clearing account
    GR/IR clearing account
    Accounts that are NOT managed on an open item basis:
    Bank accounts
    Tax accounts
    Raw material accounts
    Reconciliation accounts
    These are managed implicitly using the subledger open item function.
    Profit and loss accounts
    Materials Management (MM) accounts posted with a posting key that has account type M
    My understanding from this is that the 'Open Item Management' is not to be used for Materials Management.
    Cheers,

  • Display gl account field

    Hi Consultant,
    Can anyone advise me the field below in fs00? i check in F1 but still not clear.
    1) what is valuation group under control data tab?
    2) what is recon account ready for input under create/bank/interest tab?
    3) what is interest calculation for?
    Thanks

    HELLO
    valuation group can include a number of different G/L accounts. The exchange rate type is determined from the foreign currency total when the valuation is carried out.
    RECONCIATION ACCCOUNT FOR ACCOUNT TYPE IS FOR LINKING THE MAIN LEDFER TO THE SUBLEDGER ACCOUNT.
    HOPE THIS WILL BE HELPFUL

  • OB53 and account type X in FS00

    Hi,
    I would like to have better understanding on the relation between these 2 settings:
    Let say, my system's setting is as follows:
    OB53: X - GL 99999
    FS00: GL 89999 (P/L GL) marked with account type X
    Other GL's, like Bank: 11300, Expenses (Water): 416300
    Initially, I started up my business with capital EUR200
    Let say, my current year transaction is payment of water EUR100 (one expense), and does not have other revenue / expense.
    Therefore, my current year Profit and loss account should be, loss of EUR100.
    My balance sheet in EUR, should be as follows:
    Asset:
    Bank: 100
    Liability:
    Capital: 200
    Loss: (100) - retained earning
    My question, how should the system make use of GL99999 and GL89999?
    Anything to do with Tcode: FAGLGVTR?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
    In OB53, we have to assign Retained Earnings A/c. It is nothing but Profit and Loss A/c in general terms.
    In your example, you have given GL A/c number 99999 in OB53. That account is called Retained Earnings A/c or Profit and Loss A/c.
    After assignment in OB53, go to go FS000 and create the Retained GL A/c for the same number which you have given in OB53 i.e. GL A/c 99999.
    While creating Retained Earnings A/c in FS00, select your account group (Its may be Reserves and Surplus group) and select Balance Sheet a/c.
    At the time of running F.16, all types of u201CP&L Statement Accountsu201D (This indicator should be selected at the time of creation of GL Accounts in FS00) balances should be carried forward to the Retained Earnings A/c which you have given in OB53.
    Retained Earnings A/c shows the net results i.e. either profit or loss. In your case, it shows a loss of Rs.100.
    Note: We need not post anything manually to Retained Earnings A/c. It will automatically be posted at the time of running F.16.
    Difference between T codes:  F.16 and FAGLGVTR.
    We can use T code: F.16 when we are maintaining GL Accounts in ordinary Financial Accounting ---> General Ledger Accounting.
    We can use T code: FAGLGVTR when we are maintaining GL Accounts in New Format. That is Financial Accounting (New) -
    > General Ledger Accounting (New).
    Hope this helps you.

  • Transaction Account Types

    Hi All,
    we are planning to use Transaction account builder to derive default accounts in AP and AR , But we dont find the Transaction account types already defined .
    In the user guide we find that Transaction account type has to be created by the developer but we dont find the procedure to do that.
    It will be helpful if we get guidance in this
    Thanks,
    Lakshman

    In the global configuration for EBS, you map external transactions to internal transactions (posting rules) within a transaction type.  You then assign each bank key and bank account combination to the transaction type that should be used for processing statements for that account.  If you want different external transaction mappings for different account IDs, then you need to create different transaction types and assign each account to the relevant transaction type.  Since the transaction types are assigned to the account numbers, you can have different transaction types for accounts with the same bank key.

    Hi
    Hope you are doing this in test server
    If this is a real time issue this needs to be addressed by a FI consultant
    First see for your company code what is the posting period varient maintained in OBY6
    Say if it is 1000
    Then in OB52
    Maintain a setting like this
    1000-S-BLANK-ZZZZZZZZZZ-1--2010122010-13--201016--2010
    Then save it
    This is for Account type S that is GL accounts
    Preferably maintain the same for      A,   + ,   D,   K,   M,   V

  • Account group and Account Type.

    Hi all,
    Could you please tell me the diferences between <b>GL Account group</b>  (<i>by example cash, expense, revenue</i> ....) which we define in IMG - Financial Accounting - General Ledger Accounting - G/L Accounts - Master Records - Preparations - Define Account Group and <b>Account Type</b> (<i>by example: Vendor, Customer, Material, GL Account</i>) which is in the screen "create account type" IMG - Financial Accounting - Financial Accounting Global Settings - Document - Document Header - Define Document Types ?
    Thank you very much.
    Sylvecast

    Hi
    Account Group Controls the Master records. It controls the number range of Master record and Field status group (Supress, Required, Optional and Display) also. SAP follows a Grouping principle all throughout SAP to handle the Master Records that may be in GL, AR AP any thing. See to create a GL Account group you define at OBD4 there itself you assign the Number Range or those groups which also controls Field Staus of GL Master Records. And for Creating AR and AP Master Records you create at OBD2 and Vendor at OBD3 which will also controls Field Status Group of And Number range of Master record. The only difference between GL and AR/AP is assigning of number range. For GL will specify at OBD4 itself but for AR/AP we need to create a number range at FBN1 then assign to AR And AP at OBD2 and OBD3 respectively.
    One more thing. Remember only Field Status group of Master recard (OBD2, OBD3, OBD4) only contain Display option but not to Posting Key or Field Satus Group (OB41 or OBC4). I am so specifing becoz I commited this mistake in one interview.
    In summary, the account group controls:
    i) The number ranges of the accounts,
    ii) The status of the fields in the company code segment of the master record.  Since a chart of accounts contains many different types of accounts, they can be bundled into different "account groups ". Usually one account group bundles
    accounts with the same tasks within the general ledger, e. g. cash accounts, material accounts, asset accounts, profit and loss
    accounts,...

  • Significance of Account Type EXP,LEQ,INC,AST in BPC- Need some valid reason

    Hi,
    I have a question why we need account type in BPC. Is there really any Business significance for maintaining Account Type ?
    Account type LEQ, INC it behaves differently while load data/display data as sign change happens in SAP Back end. Major issue comes when you try to create a re-concillation report using BEX tool for LEQ, INC accounts in BPC and BI cube as you need to reverse the sign in BEX side for any calculation or any data match for INC and LEQ accounts.
    My implication is : Is there anything wrong if we take all accounts as EXP account type because what data comes from other source/Input schedule remain as such for all accounts. There will be no Discrepancy/confusion of sign while in reporting in BI side or BPC side. You can follow normal calculation process if you have calculated any item in the report and does not bother about the account type and behaves same as the BI cube data.
    Any idea or any issue if the above implication is implemented. I need some concrete reasons for the above issue as it create a extra headache/confusion in BPC impementation project.
    Thanks
    Debasisha

    Hi Debasish,
    Lets take a simple example. Lets say you have revenue as INC, sales as EXP and Profit as INC. You enter values from input schedule as below
    Acct    Type    Value entered in IS      Value in DB
    Revenue   INC   400                   -400
    Sales   EXP     100                  100
    Lets say Profit is the parent, then the values will be
    Profit   INC   -300
    In the report, you will see the data as 300 (since profit is of type INC).
    However, if you keep all as EXP, then
    Acct    Type    Value entered in IS      Value in DB
    Revenue   EXP   400                   400
    Sales   EXP     100                  100
    Profit    EXP                             500
    The above data, as you can see, is incorrect. Now, for making it correct, you need to put a formula for Profit as Revenue - Sales. This looks easy, however, will become cumbersome with more number of members.
    Hope you got the idea now.

  • Essbase API - Account Dimension - Account Type

    Hello all,
    I'm connecting to a cube that has an account dimension and I need to extract the account hierarchy for a given member name. What I did to get the member information is:
    mbrSel = cube.openMemberSelection(null);
    mbrSe.executeQuety("<OutputType Binary <SelectMbrInfo(MemberName, MemberAlias, ParentMemberName )"
      , "@IDESCENDENTS (\"" + s_member + "\", 0)");
    Now what I'm trying to get from this query is the account type(or the account aggregator). Is this information queryable?
    Many thanks!
    Rafael

    In BPC, "Account" can be interpretted fairly generic.  Yes each application requires an account dimension and each account dimension member must be assigned a valid account type (Asset, Liab, Equity, Rev, Cost) property.  But that is the extent of the restrictions.  So in is not uncommon to see the account dimension be used to represent the vendor, the customer, the material, or a key figure.  That last option may be necessary if you want to track "statistical key figures" or various types of quantities in your application.  Just be sure to utilize the right account type attribute assignment to result in the correct sign handling and accumulation logic for your data.
