Display Column & Table Headings in Pivote Table
Hi,
Can we display the Table Headings in Pivote Table ??
There is an option of displaying the same in Table view,is there any way of displaying the same in Pivot Table View??
Thanks
Hi,
Try this.
Table heading:-
We do not have any direct option to do this.
But as a workaround, we can achieve this using the following approach.
Add a column to the criteria. Use the following in the column formula.
'<table width="100%" align="center" bordercolor="#C9CBD3"
frame="void" rules="cols" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0">
<tr>
<td align="center" width = "200">
'|| 'This Month' ||' </td>
<td align="center" width = "200">
'|| 'Accumulated YTD' ||'</td>
</tr>
</table>'
Where This Month & Accumulated YTD are the table headings.
Do not forget to change the Data Format to 'HTML'
Place this column on top of measures labels in Columns Section.
But, you need to fix the width of all the measure columns and adjust the <td> width accordingly.
"Display Column & Table Headings" equivalent for pivot tables?
Hope this help's

Hi All ,
What is the Maximum Number of Columns for a OBIEE Pivot Table? Also what is default size of columns set for Pivot view in OBIEE 11g?
Thanks In Advance.
QujesHi,
You can increase the maximum columns in a view by add some tags to instanceconfig.xml file.

Hi,
I have a question about the column order in a Pivot Table in a WebI (xi r3.1) report
At the moment I have the following Pivot Table
|1 | 2
| Produced Water | Produced Oil | Produced Water | Produced Oil
Platform 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5
Platform 2 | 3 | 4 | 5 | 6
I want to have the following pivot table instead
| Produced Water | Produced Oil
| 1 | 2 | 1 | 2
Platform 1 | 2 | 4 | 3 | 5
Platform 2 | 3 | 5 | 4 | 6
Is it possible to setup the above pivot table in a WebI report?
Many Thanks for any help,
Dirk JanDirk Jan,
That's a question regurlarly asked to me by users and the solution (as long as nobody is comming up with a better one) is to create variables for the measures for each month (using the WHERE operator).
So you need to define 12 variables (for each month) for Product Oil and Product Water (PO month1, PO month 2, ...., PW month 1, PW month 2 ....) using the formula (eg. PO month1):
=[Product Oil] Where ([month] = 1)
Then instead of a crosstab you build a table where you can put the variables in any order you want.

Problem with format displayed in output while using Pivot table
Hi All,
I am using Pivot table in 10.1.3.4.1 version for displaying dynamic type data. Data is coming fine but it is coming in very strange format. I have following two tables in my RTF Template.
Table1 using Pivot table
!http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2570/4092137243_924cca92ca.jpg!
Table 2 - A normal table
!http://img5.imageshack.us/img5/6651/table3p.jpg!
In the output PDF, “Table 2” shows data fine but “Table 1” shows very strange kind of behaviour if the columns exceed more than 5 in “Table 1” . If columns in Pivot table output are more than 5[at present according to my Table1 size] then columns more than 5 are shown on next page after Table 2 instead of displaying inside outer table “Table1“. Anyone has any idea what is the reason behind this strange behavior and how can I avoid it ?
Thanks
-SookieHi All,
I tried including following piece of code in RTF as mentioned here: [http://winrichman.blogspot.com/2009/05/cross-tab-by-limiting-number-of-colums.html] but as a result it showed blank page in report. Nothing else.

Remove column heading in a pivot table without columns
I have a pivot table which only has rows and measures. But It doesn’t have any column.
It shows at the top a light grey cell (see attached image https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B1mQC-zTrijUSmtXWEFEaHB1cEU/edit?usp=sharing
How could I remove that?
Column properties – labels of column are already disabled.
OBIEE 11.1.1.7.0
Regards,
VíctorHey Victor,
I'm unable to view that file also...
Just curious, if you don't have anything in the column section of the pivot, why not just use a table?
If this is going onto a dashboard the quick and dirty approach is just to make a small CSS change, just throw something like the following into a text object.
<style>
.PTCHC0 {border:0px; background-color: #FFFFFF; background-image:none;}
</style>

Sorting Column's Label in Pivot Table
Hi Fellows !!
This is my problem: I have two tables, dates and rates, providing me data for a report. Dates has a DateId (number), Year(number) and Month(varchar2(12)), and Rates has DateId(number) and RateAmount(number). I wrote a quite simple query to obtain report's data:
SELECT DATES.YEAR, DATES.MONTH, RATES.RATEAMOUNT
FROM DATES, RATES
WHERE DATES.DATEID = RATES.DATEID.
I must to show as a pivot each rate by month for each year. Years must be showed as row heading and sorted descending (this already works) and Months must be showed as column's labels. Something like this:
----------|January|February|......|December|
2008 | 737.3 | 372.3 |......| 342.56 |
2007 | 346.2 | 456.6 |......| 678.78 |
The problem is Months always appear in Lexicographical order: April, August, December, ..., September. How can I to define the correct sort for Month ? Thanks in advance for your help.
Edited by: [email protected] on Sep 21, 2009 4:03 PMHi Vetsrini, thank you for your answer.
I've included an additional DATES table's field in query, and it contains the number of month, according to your suggestion. Results for query show month's names in proper form, but when I set up the pivot table from template builder and get preview for results (pdf, html, etc), I still get month's names in Lexicographical order. All the examples and documentation tips (sorting tags and others) I've found seems to apply to normal tables, because none of that works in my pivot table. Any other ideas are welcome. -

Edited by: Benito Camelas on 19-jun-2009 5:14where exactly do you have a title in a pivot? you sure its not a title for the entire report?
if its the latter then you can add an narrative and apply what you tried ( e.g. @1) -

Inlcude the table heading in Pivot Table.
Hi,
Can we include the table name in the Pivot tables as well along with the Column names as we can do in the Table view where we can show 'Display Column & Table Headings' as seperate rows.
Regards,
BhavikOk, for example take two columns product and revenue. Consider they are 10 products.
What I have to display in report is 9 products with revenue and total revenue of those 9 products and then the 10th product and revenue and finally the grand total.
Product---Revenue
1---35
2---45
9---60
Total---140
10---70
Grand Total---210
Which can be achieved the same in pivot view (using New calculated item)
I also need to display the table headings, there I stuck with. -
How to hide/suppress empty columns in pivot tables
In a pivot table, is there any way to do something like "suppress missing data" to make an entire column hidden only if it is empty? I have a situation where I can't hide an entire measure because the measure has values for another dimension, but I would like to hide the column that is empty. See the example below. I would like to hide the combination of Dim1 and Measure 2, and the combination of Dim 2 and Measure 3. I can't hide all columns with Dim1 and/or Dim2, or Measure2 and/or Measure3. Is there any way to hide just the column with the empty combination? Thanks.
Dim1 Measure1 Always populated
Dim2 Measure1 Always populated
Dim1 Measure2 Always null
Dim2 Measure2 Always populated
Dim1 Measure3 Always populated
Dim2 Measure3 Always nullBhawna -
That made a difference, but it still needs some work. The IfNull() function picked up every value in the columns that I wanted to hide and changed them to zero. The conditional formatting that you suggested hid the content in those columns from the HTML. However, there ended up being several issues:
1) IfNull() picked up other null values that happened to be in the resultset, so the conditional formatting was applied to more than intended. I could correct that by changing the data value in the physical database columns for the entire pivot table columns that I want hidden, but then I have to work around having bogus values in those intersections. Still, that is a possible workaround.
2) The column headers for the columns that I want to disappear did not go away. When I applied CSS display:none, it shifts the pivot table cells to the left, so a lot of the data ends up under the wrong column headings.
3) CSS display:none only hides the content from screen readers. When I view the pivot table on the dashboard and print it to a PDF, the data in the columns that I want to disappear are back.
That still seems like it's a long ways from "suppress missing data" for the entire column. Thanks for your suggestion.

How to extend No. of columns for PIVOT table in BI Publisher Desktop
Hello Everyone,
I am using the Oracle BI Publisher Desktop to design the TEMPLATE for Oracle Reports.
I need to create the PIVOT table .In my PIVOT table I need to display 9 columns but when I tried to create PIVOT table by dragging 9 columns only first 4 columns are displaying in report.
Can anyone suggest me how can I increase the number of columns in PIVOT table?
Thank You.
Regards,
Guru.hi jim
if you carefully look inside the form field's you will find the logic of sort . if you remove that you will get the data without any sorting order.
else send me your template and xml to my email id i can look into that .
