Display conditional Image in Report Column

Hi,
I'm quite new to HTMLDB and searched the forum for the mentioned matter:
I have a report with about 3 columns. In the second column(Col2) I have a values like male or female. Is it possible and if yes how to insert an image before the value in Col2 based upon evaluating the column value?
For example my report looks like that:
[Col1] [Col2] [Col3]
blabla oMale blabla
If the value for Col2 is female I want to display another image.
Can anybody help me??

Problem to display multiple images in report!

Hi,
I have 3 tables, in each table i have a column with an image "blob"!
I have creat a view with this 3 tables and a report of this view.
My problem is that when i try to show one image column in report, "there is no problem", but when i try to show two or tree column´s with images, it display's only the last image that i call in report!

Using normal standart report with in report atributes column:

What are i making wrong, in this case he does only make the last dbms_lob.getlength and shows only dbms_lob.getlength(IMAGESTATE) IMAGESTATE;
If i change the order of the report and put in the end of the code:
dbms_lob.getlength(IMAGETYPE) IMAGETYPE, the he shows this last image!
I have try to make a demonstration of my problem on this forum, so i have creat an example on apex.oracle.com and there it works just fine, showing all the images of report.
i am using apex 3.1.0.00.32
Why doesn't the same example work in my aplication.

Pepe,
Is the first report on the page working correctly? I think so. So I don't see an example of what you described.
I do see that there are no images in the second report, but that's not the same as the first problem you described, is it?

How to display data in interactive report column without colons (:)

Dear Apex gurus,
I'm a newbie and have just created an Apex application from a spreadsheet. I've created a named list of values and used it in a checkbox against a field in the default page 3 Create form.
When I've selected multiple values in my check box in the form, the data in the interactive report appears as one line with colons separating the selected values like this: Dog:Cat:Bird
What I would like is to have the data appear in the interactive report column as a multi-line list like this:
Dog
Cat
Bird
I can work around this by modifying the SQL code in the Region Source of the Region Definition of the report (Default Page 1 interactive report) to replace the colons with 
SELECT replace("PETS_CHOSEN",':',' ') "PETS_CHOSEN", FROM "MYAPP" Note: this doesn't format properly in the posting. I replace the colon with a html br
This works, but seems to be a hack to me. I am guessing that I've missed a simple option setting somewhere, but I can't find it.
The other problem with this solution is that when I export the report to Excel, what is exported is Dog Cat Bird, which is seems worse than colons.

Hi Morgan,
I think you have at least two choices:
1 - Replace the colons with ', ' (comma and space) - sort of reasonable on screen and in an export
2 - Create a second page that has the same report but uses the "export: csv" template. Create a manual link to this page to replace the standard Export link. When such report pages are requested, they download immediately instead of displaying. You can, therefore, use commas in this one and tags in the on-screen report version

Displaying conditional gif in report

for a column in a report, is it possible to display a picture dependent on the column value ( i.e. checkmark for yes values)

this is a pretty easy one to accomplish using straight sql, actually. you'd simply decode your column in question and conditionally select the image link out based on your decoded value. for example, if our table was Foo and our column in question was Col_1. you could write your query for that region like this...
select decode(f.Col_1,'Yes','<IMG SRC="/i/my_checkmark.gif">',f.Col_1) my_column_alias
from foo;
put into plain english, this query selects all values of Col_1 from the foo table. as it renders the results, it checks the values of Col_1. if that value is a 'Yes' it then returns the HTML to display your checkmark gif. if the value is something other than a 'Yes', the query returns that value.

How to display an image on reports 10g

Hi all
I have a database table that is composed of 2 columns:-
Country_id NUMBER
Country_Flag BLOB
the table is populated with data. I made a report that display the country_id and Country_flag
I Changed the "FORMAT_FILE" property for the field "COUNTRY_FLAG" to image.
When i preview the report from the Reports Builder, the image is displayed and every thing is good,
But when I run my report from my form in the format pdf, the image is not displayed .
I do not know why?
has any one experienced this problem?

Cannot see an image in report column

Hi i have an sql report as

Any idea where i am doing it wrong ?

 1) Download image through Shared components|Images into application workspace (picture.png is the name of that picture)
 2) later reference as "#APP_IMAGES#fpicture.png"
 Example shows how 2 pics are displayed depending on STATUS field value which is part of table MyTable:

,1,'<_img src="#APP_IMAGES#fb_run.gif" />') "STATUS"
FROM MyTableRemove "_" before image...this is needed for correct display on WEB in Appex forum!

No data found when display image in report

Hi,
I have a table with a blob field in it which I use to store some image (gif),
I tried to display the image in report but follow the guideline in http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E23903_01/doc/doc.41/e21674/advnc_blob.htm#BCGBCHBD
but when I run the report, error
"report error:
ORA-01403: no data found"
prompt, I do not have MIME,FILENAME column in the table, so I define only
IMAGE,Table Name,Column containing BLOB,Primary Key Column 1 and Primary Key Column 2 in the report column.
Anyone has also this problem?

Hi,
I found that the problem is there when I select the option
"Use Generic Column Names (parse query at runtime only)" in the report.
Is this a bug?

How to (un)hide report columns based on checkboxes?

Hello,
I have a simple report that selects 4 columns from a table.
I would like to create 2 check boxes (at the report level, not at the row level) corresponding to 2 of the 4 report columns: When they are checked, the corresponding columns are visible. When they are unchecked, the corresponding columns are NOT visible.
Two questions:
1.
This would require submitting the page automatically upon (un)checking either check box. How do I do that?
2.
I have attempted to use the Conditional Display properties of the report columns with hard coded values, but they don't seem to work whether the Show property of the columns is on or off. Any idea why and how to get around it? (I am using 3.2. Could this be a bug that has been fixed in 4?)

Hi,
I can not find post where I have explain how sample works.But here it goes:
You need load jQuery in page template or page HTML header if you are not using Apex 4.
Create new blank page. In my case new page id is 70.
Create HTML region to new page called Columns. Use wizard defaults
Create hidden item Px_REPORT_REGION_NAME. Use wizard defaults.
In my case hidden item name is P70_REPORT_REGION_NAME .
Create computation before header for hidden item. Computation Type "Static Assigment".
In computation write name you like use to your report. My case I did write "Employee report".
Create SQL Report. In region title place your hidden item like
&P70_REPORT_REGION_NAME.In my case I did use query
SELECT *
FROM empCreate check box. In my case it is called P70_SHOW_HIDE.
Use from LOV query

Conditionally displaying different images in a report

Hello. I have a simple report. In one column of it I have a link to another report. Instead of showing the value for the column, I show an image using the column's Column Link's Link Text property.
In the Link Text field, I put an <img src="#WORKSPACE_IMAGES#my_image.jpg"> tag.
Works like a charm - on the report the column displays little icon images that can be clicked on that take the user to a different page.
I would like to conditionally (based on the actual value of the column's row) display two different images. Think of a green Up arrow vs. a red Down arrow.
How can I do that?
Or can I at least have the image above conditionally display and if the condition is not met, not display anything?
I notice each of the report's column's attribute page has the Conditional Display section. How does work for a column?

Use a case expression in the query, e.g.
case
when x <= 50 then 'down.png'
else 'up.png'

...and change the Link Text field to

I have a field called "picture" in my table "details" which is of type BLOB. i also have a field for "MIMETYPE" and "filename"
i additionally have a "name" and "description" columns which i need to display along with the picture as columns in a report (preferably interactive).
i have also modified the BLOB display format as per

what i am missing is the correct query. if possible, i would like to control the size of the picture rendered within the report like say 40*50.
I have also referred to the thread

dbms_lob.getlength("BLOB_CONTENT") as "BLOB_CONTENT"
in my query.
The above also makes the report column as of type "number". is this expected?

if possible, i would like to control the size of the picture rendered within the report like say 40*50.For images close to this size it's easy to do this for declarative BLOB images in interactive reports using CSS. Add a style sheet with:

However, scaling large images in the browser this way is a huge waste of bandwidth and produces poorer quality images than creating proper scaled down versions using image tools. For improved performance and image quality, and where you require image-specific scaling you can use the database ORDImage object to produce thumbnail and preview versions automatically, as described in this blog post.

Conditional display of list box in form (depends on other report column)

Hello,
i have one question regarding conditional display in forms.
I have a tabular form where only one column ("flag") is updateable, all other columns are visible only.
I changed the column "flag" from "standard report column" to "Select list (static lov)", which has the values "yes" and "no".
This works fine. But in the running form i want to display the list box only if the column "status" = 'ERROR'.
The column "status" can have the values 'ERROR' and 'OK'.
When one record has "status" = 'OK', the column "flag" should not display the list box (only empty column row),
when one record has "status" = 'ERROR" the column "flag" should display the list box.
The idea behind is that if a record has "status" = 'ERROR' i have the possibility to confirm that "error" and update the column "flag" with "YES". This should only be possible for errors.
This is my main problem.
I tried with conditional display, but this hides or shows the column for the whole report/form, not on record level...
The second problem then is, that if the column "flag" is changed to "YES" in case of column "status" = 'ERROR', then it should not be possible to change it again to 'NO". At the beginning it is 'NO', but once changed to 'YES' it should not be changeable any more.
Is this possible?

your solution sounds good, but unfortunately it is not working.
None of my 2 columns are displayed, although i tried it as you wrote and the conditions should match...
But i am no sure if this can work. If so, the 2 columns must fuse to 1 column:
ID STATUS FLAG
1 ERROR yes/no => comes from column1
2 OK (null => comes from column2
so "FLAG" must display column1 and column2 in one column. is that possible?

Graphic/Image not displayed with conditional formatting in Report Designer

We are facing problems with displaying an image in a conditional formatting in the Report Designer. The image itself is in the mime repository and can be displayed in the report if no conditional formatting is used. But if it is used the image doesn't appear in the report.
Backend setup: SP 8
Frontend setup: Patch 8, hotfix 2, Revision 95
Any help is highly appreciated.

I could not reproduce your problem in internal SP8 system. Also images in rows with conditional formatting are displayed.
Do you get any errors after the execution in the portal?
Try to use exactly the same image in both rows (drag-and-drop with CTRL key pressed).
If then your problem still occurs, open a customer message. Describe your problem in detail and write technical name of the report you used.

Question about displaying an image among columns in a report

I've looked at examples that I've come across, but I guess I'm missing something. I have a PL/SQL procedure which returns a sql statement for a report. I want to display an image between two of the columns. I already have the images stored in APEX. Can someone please point me at what I'm doing wrong here?

Since posting I tried that too, here is the code I'm using. It always results in a
failed to parse SQL query:
ORA-00936: missing expression
whenever I run the page. Any ideas? Here's the current code. If I remove the line that we're talking about, it runs fine.

i have created a report . there are multiple column Like. BILL NO,BILL DATE, PAYMENT MODE, CHEQUE NO, CHECQUE DATE, TOTAL AMOUNT
Now i want to display only BILL NO,BILL DATE, PAYMENT MODE, TOTAL AMOUNT when i select PAYMENT MODE Cash in Select List ITEM
And
i want to display only BILL NO,BILL DATE, PAYMENT MODE, CHEQUE NO, CHEQUE DATE,TOTAL AMOUNT when i select PAYMENT MODE Cheque in Select List ITEM
How Can i Conditionally Display Report Column.

Conditional Display of Report Columns

I'm trying to hide a vertical list column, but it is either permanently off or permanently on. Any ideas!
For example:-
Display Department name if not null

now i get why you're not liking the report templates approach to this issue. to be honest, my other suggestion on that "Referencing Report Columns" thread might probably be okay here. assuming you're looking up your one detail row with a primary key value, doing the extra query can't be too expensive. if you don't want to go that route (though i'm likin' it, the more i think about it) or the templates one, you might consider either of these two angles:
1) code the detail page's region as a plsql anonymous block that selectively shows what it needs to show.
2) code the appropriate nvl's or case statements into your detail page's report region and have that select statement select out most of your html formatting for you.
i don't particularly like either of the two above suggestions, but now you at least have them. i think i'd run with the solution where you select the detail row twice, but please don't quote me on that.
