Display custom texts in a query

Hi All,
My requirement is like, i need to display custom texts of 2-3 lines below query header for a standard query.
These texts are static, cannot be changed in runtime.
Could anyone help me on how to acheive this, this can be either with Analyzer or with WAD.

In BEx
Insert Rows below the QUery Heading. Enter your Comments.
Click "Save" button in Bex Tool bar. Selec the Option "Save as New Workbook".
Give permissions to the users to see the workbook.
In WAD
Open the HTML code of the Web report.You will find a tag for the Query Heading like this

<title>BW Web Application</title>
<link href="/sap/bw/Mime/BEx/StyleSheets/BWReports.css" type=text/css rel=stylesheet>
</head>
Below this tag add the following Tag.
<div>
Enter your Text here
</div>
Save the Report.

i have an xsl stylesheet with sharepoint listview webpart. The list view shows some items based on a filter. I want to display custom text such as "No Items" when there are zero items in the list view using the xsl stylesheet. How do i achieve

I have customised the list view webpart using a custom xsl file by including it in the xsl link of the list view webpart. So i think i need to include the condition in the xsl file itself else it wont work. Since the list view webpart isnt using the default
xsl. Please let me kknow if you have any idea about including a condition in xsl to check if there are not items in view.

How to display long text in SAP Query ALV layout? It only show 129 char now

I have a SAP Query which show a remark field(Max length more than 500 char), but it only show max length 129 char now. In fact, the lenght of remark field text is more than 300, and i had debug the source code, the field text value do is correct, its length do is 376.
Do anybody can help me solve the issue, let the query ALV layout can show the long text field value?

ALV can show only a restrict value length around 128 characters, many experts said that we can not extend. many suggestions is split text into some column.

Dashboard Prompt to display custom text

Hi Guys,
We have a special requirement in OBIEE 10.1.3.4.1 where we want to populate dashboard combo box with Values like - Current Month, Previous Month
This intern should map to Month_id's.
In simpler terms, if a user selects Current Month then Month_id=x (numerical) should apply, if he selects previous month then x-1 should take effect.

The prompt values are generated run-time using union of 2 dummy select statements,
The first select below adds Current Month, the 2nd select adds Previous Month:

The End result of the union of above queries is :

Curent Month should map to a specific Month_id (session variable) so that i filter reports in the dashboard on Month_id.

How to get customized text when ALL as parameter

I am having OEM as parameter in my bipublisher report.when I am selecting ALL as parameter i want to display customized text.If particular oem is selected it should display that OEM.
I tried like

In this 'pdept' is the parameter. When you select All, it will execute the below query.

Crystal Report for Enterprise not displaying Long Text from BEx

Hello,
I am creating a report using SAP Crystal Report for Enterprise 4.0 (Version 14.0.2) and the source of data is BEx query via OLAP connection created using IDT. I am using SAP BusinessObjects BI platform 4.0.
The Characteristic (which is hierarchy) in the Rows section of the BEx Query is set to display long text and as such, it displays long text when the query is executed in the BEx Analyzer. However, when it comes to Crystal Report, the short text is displayed in the report. Can I display long text in the Crystal Report? How?

Thanks for your response. Please note, however, the transaction RAD1 does not exist. Let me provide more details about the current settings of the InfoObject.
The Characteristic is 'Item' (0CS_ITEM) and upon going to RSA1 > Modeling > InfoObjects > Item (0CS_ITEM) > Right Click > Display > Business Explorer (tab) > Text Type is set to 'Long Text' and BEx description is set to 'Long description' already.
When I run/execute the query with this Item characteristic, the results in BEx Analyzer is showing appropriate long text, however, Crystal Report for Enterprise shows short text only

Have no records I want to display some custom text in Red color in Advaced

When I instantiate a query, if I have no records I want to display some custom text in Red color in Advanced Table instead of the standard No results found.
i.e. something like, 'click on Add Records'
Any ideas pls..

Display Text in a query as a symbol

Hi everyone,
I have a query (BI 7) that displays runtimes of BI applications (generated from technical content -0TCT_MC01 multiprovider).
In the rows there is 0TCTBIOTYPE (type of BI application) which usually displays texts as below:

I would like to show in the report the symbol (image) instead of the key/text of this infoobject.
Any idea?

Nice requirement.
Not sure 100% but from my memory i guess we can display the image for characteristic, instead of text or key by using Analysis web item Using parameter modification in WAD .
Kindly check for Modifcation parameter Display image Module (com.sap.ip.bi.*.Documentcontent) in WAD, it might solve your purpose.

Display document text in query instead of link to the document

Hi, gurus!
I'm on BW 3.10. I have a requirement from my customer that BEx web report should contain column with text of BPS document (not the link to it). How to display this text?

You may have to keep column description between HTML tags , that will create a link to BPS layout for each column.
try with trick , couple of online documents available " how to create HTML link on column description".

Display long text of characteristic in Query name

Hi All,
I have implemented RRI between my sender and receiver query.
When user will click on WBS Element in my sender query <b>the receiver query name will be the name of that WBS Element.</b>
After execution,I am able to see the Short text associated with Characteristic WBS ELement but<b> i want to display Long text of WBS Element in Receiver query name</b>.
I have tried to implement the same logic as suggested by Bhanu in following blog:

Custom field html displays as text

I am converting a custom field from a SharePoint 2007 version to SharePoint 2013. The field works correctly in SP2007. In SP2013 it has the correct information but displays as text instead of html. I have set the "disable-output-escaping" in the
xsl to "yes" but it does not help. Here the xml and xsl data for the field.

According to your post, my understanding is that the custom field not render html well.
As you have known, we can use the “disable-output-escaping” to render the html, however, it not works in your environment.
As a workaround, we can use JQuery to render the html, I have made a simple code snippets to achieve this scenario, you can refer to it.

By default CQWP shows only one column. However, if you want to show more than one column, then CQWP needs to be customized. The property which you are looking for is CommonViewFields. It is used to specify the additional fields that you want to display in

Query Designer&WAD: Variable search help - Display Key/Text button

Good day.
Please, can you write me some solution of my problem.
I have the character with hierarchy.
In tab "Business Explorer" of character set display as "Text".
When i run my query on SAP Portal and enter to search help of character, it is displays text of my ZCHARACTER(not key and text). But name of levels(0HIER_BODE) display key and text... (NODENAME and TEXT).
When i run query in BEx Analyzer, in search help all correct. My ZCHARACTER and 0HIER_NODE displays only text.
When i press tech button "Display Key/Text", a see marked "Text". I cannot find the same button when run search help in Query Designer, WAD(or Portal).
How can i display only texts of 0HIER_NODE? But no [Key] Text.

Update. Can be usefull:
View table RSDVDPA with key DPNAM='0HIER_NODE' consist field CHAPRSNT with value = '0' (Key and Text).
When i change value of table
UPDATE RSDDPA SET CHAPRSNT = '4'
WHERE DPANM EQ '0HIER_NODE'
AND objvers EQ 'A'.
All works correct!
Change this value directly not correct. I think, that it is change of value of parent character. But when?

I have created own 0HIER_NODE character - ZNODENAME.
Only root node infoobject is 0HIER_NODE. All another - Z.
