Display Documnets within a query

We are on version 3.5. I would like to use the display documnet feature in a query. The one option from the query properties that works well is checking the box to display documnets at the master data level. My only fear is that someone with check this box on and start creating notes using another query to this master data info object. I need to use 0material which is in just about every query. Is there a way to secure documets at the query and master data level?

Need help with division within a query

I am trying to divide these two columns to get a % of case numbers involving an accident. Im pretty sure you need to use decode to avoid the divide by 0 error but not sure how to implement this within my query. When i run this query below, it gives me the result of "1", which is not correct. Can someone help me please?

Are you sure that the ANDs and ORs in your WHERE clause will take precedence properly?
Also, if you always select only cases where there has been an accident, what percentage would you like to display? Surely in this case the percentage of cases involving in accident in cases where there was an accident.. is 100%?

accidentTo wildcard a date, simply pass NULL in; the coalesce will replace the null with the pursuit_date from the record (thus the >= and <= becomes true)
To wildcard the troop or the radio, simply pass a '%' symbol as the value of the parameter. If the front end code is already set up to pass nulls, use the COALESCE trick above

Display Text in a query as a symbol

Hi everyone,
I have a query (BI 7) that displays runtimes of BI applications (generated from technical content -0TCT_MC01 multiprovider).
In the rows there is 0TCTBIOTYPE (type of BI application) which usually displays texts as below:

I would like to show in the report the symbol (image) instead of the key/text of this infoobject.
Any idea?

Not sure 100% but from my memory i guess we can display the image for characteristic, instead of text or key by using Analysis web item Using parameter modification in WAD .
Kindly check for Modifcation parameter Display image Module (com.sap.ip.bi.*.Documentcontent) in WAD, it might solve your purpose.

To begin with, in file-explorer (.\system32\explorer.exe) normally, the new ribbon user interface in Win 8.1 does indeed display appropriate buttons depending on the currently displayed folder within the explorer.exe window.
But when one re-parents the explorer window handle to any window handle other than 0000 (desktop's window handle), then the UIRibbon fails to do so.
You might ask 'Who does that ?' and I would say no-one usually, however I use BrightExplorer which
is a great little app that gives me a tabbed file-explorer experience.
Now, this app works fine since Windows 7, but with Windows 8 the file explorer introduced the new UIRibbon in its UI. It's that new UIRibbon that gets confused by what I think may be be caused by the re-parenting that BrightExplorer does
to pull a file explorer session into its tabbed control.
This phenomenon relates to Windows 8 + and is observed only by doing the following steps:

Display results of MySQL query from AMFPHP by ArrayCollection in AS3 (Flash CS4)

Hi, i am using Flash CS4 (AS3) + AMFPHP + MySQL to do own flash frontend for Wordpress CMS. Everything is going fine but i`ve got one problem. Problem with properly display of result of query in AS3 by using ArrayCollection.
When i check my service in "amfphp/browser/" in web browser i`ve got this (with all needed data):

That is the reason that i suppose that service work fine. Problem is when i try to display result in AS3. In actionscript i have got this:

I know that "result" is an ArrayCollection type but i don`t know how to get rows and columns from this. I know that my data is there but i have no idea how to get it.
Clarify: I don`t know how to get to Arrays and simple data variables which are in ArrayCollection.
Could anyone help me with that problem. I would be gratefull
P.S. I tried also change query type in service.PHP for mysql_fetch_query but in that case i`ve got only one row (not all data).

What would it look like when you would have something like this:

Dump when trying to display characteristic values in QUERY DESIGNER

Hi Experts,
Life seems to become a struggle with 7.0 for me :-(.
My current problem:
If I try to display characteristic values in Query Designer (left section of screnn, wthin dimensions) system dumps frequently.
It's that kind of dump, that doen't help really (to my oponion)_
What happened?
    The exception 'CX_RSR_X_MESSAGE' was raised, but it was not caught anywhere
     along
    the call hierarchy.
    Since exceptions represent error situations and this error was not
    adequately responded to, the running ABAP program
     'CL_RSBOLAP_BICS_SERVICES======CP' has to be
    terminated.
How to correct the error
    If the error occures in a non-modified SAP program, you may be able to
    find an interim solution in an SAP Note.
    If you have access to SAP Notes, carry out a search with the following
    keywords:
    "UNCAUGHT_EXCEPTION" "CX_RSR_X_MESSAGE"
    "CL_RSBOLAP_BICS_SERVICES======CP" or "CL_RSBOLAP_BICS_SERVICES======CM003"

I saw the demo of creating JTable on java.sun.com but the the table has a certain no. of rows which is not applicable to my case.

Hi Arun,
You can define fixed header lines and footer lines so that when you generate the query list, they can receive current values of certain fields. When you define a header line or a footer line, you must specify a character string of the type &field, where field is the short name of a field.
This function allows you (for example) to place a sort criterion in the header line.
You can include the following fields as variables in the headers directly:
%NAME
Name of the user processing the query
%DATE
Current date
%TIME
Current time
%PAGE
Current page number (6 characters)
%P
Current page number (3 characters)
These fields can be used in the short forms N,D,T and P. If you want to use these letters as short names for query fields, the field values from the query are used.

Using external parameters within MS Query returning that data right into a pivot table Excel 2010

In Excel 2010 i was able to use the external parameters within MS Query returning that data right into a pivot table. But the parameter on the worksheet will not save in the paremeter setting of the data connection. And if you save it and open
it and try to refresh the pivot table Excel stops responding and you have to force the file closed. I found out the reason to crash is that it did not keep the parameter saved.

Cannot display videos within Connect on iPads

Howdy,
Testing for a 30 iPad deployment. Ultimate goal? display embedded videos within a PPT file. At this time, I'm testing as a presenter on a PC. I have uploaded several of the same video file in different formats (.mov, .avi, .mp4, h.264, .mp3) with 640x480 15 fr settings. When embedded in the PPT, none of these videos will play within the shared document. When I attempt to 'share' the video via the Pod, the iPads display this as "Unsupported Content." What am I missing trying to share these videos within the Pod and, further, is it possible to embed them into the PowerPoint, upload to the Content List, and display them within the Powerpoint presentation?

Adobe connect does not directly support most video formats only mp4 and flv and those also under strict specifications and if you want to share ppt files with enbedded , you need to convert it to swf first that you can do with adobe presenter and about the specifications of videos check this out .

MP4 Specification-: Codec – H.264 format ,Dimensions – 880x586 (or around there) ,Frame rate – 29.97 FPS ,Bitrate ~ 500kb

Multiple SQL Update within Parent Query

I am tring to extract an image from within a MS SQL image field,
opening the image using JAI, getting the src.getWidth() & src.getHeight
() of each item within the database, and then writing the width and
height back into the database. Everything works except when I goto
write the values into the database - the page (when loading) continues
to work and work and work until I restart the tomcat service. I do not
understand why this would occur, and what is even stranger - I have
very similar code i used for resizing images in the database into a
thumbnail - display and original file sizes using a similar approach...
and that works with out a problem...
I have tried the code with out the inner update query - it works. I
tried with just the selection of a single specific item in the first
query and that works, but when I try multiple updates the second query
appears to stall.

BTW - I also tried this with a prepared statment query... no good.

How to fix the display width of a query

Hi,
I have a query in BEx query designer with some characterisitic columns & key figure columns showing data for 12 months of a year. Right now I am able to see only 4 months data at a stretch. I want to narrow down the display of the characteristics and fix the display length of the 12 months key figure data. I want that all 12 months data should be visible in the window without having to scroll right. Can anyone help me?

The number of columns or rows visible within a single page of a query is determined by the Paging setting of the ANALYSIS item in the 0ANALYSIS_PATTERN Web Template. Here you can select whether you want 4 columns or 12 and how to scroll across or down pages.
Be warned though, this web template serves as the default template for all BI7 queries so any changes here will be universal across your system.
