Display Flex Value Set according to responsibility

Hi,
Is it possible to show specific FlexValueSet according to responsibility?
For example: PA responsibility only can maintain PA related FlexValueSet.

Flex value sets are not specific to a responsibility so in short, no.
However you could create a forms personalization to achieve your desired functionality.

Error while inserting record in Key-Flex Values Set interface

Actually the problem is being occurred while inserting value in Job Flex Field Value set, we have created two segment for job key flex filed, No and name, it was working fine, but since we have uploaded bulk data via api "fnd_flex_values_pkg.INSERT_ROW" which was around 100 off record, but after completion this task system is not taking new value by Values set interface, and show message "APPS-FND-01206: You entered duplicate values or sequence of value that must be unique for every record",
However, we insert the job number through api, it is inserting without error while
Interface is not taking value and raise duplicate message error,
which is APPS-FND-01206
Please Advice.

It was strange that how could it possible duplication value without having database,i am unable to find this issued,

How to select a different value based on $FLEX$ Value set

Hi friends,
am getting a column like position from positions_table....
now based on this value set am selecting another column from the same table like for ex amount...using $FLEX$.vlaueset_name
now if the value in the table is 0 or null I should make the field available for the user to enter something
as of now it is not letting me enter any data as this value is based on the first value set we defined..
is there a way to do that..
hope am clear in specifying my requirement

How to use the :$PROFILE$ token in a table validation value set

Hi Community,
Let me explain the scenario.
We have a Flex Value Set (CLIENTES SERVICIO DIRECTO) with a table validation, included in the PO Headers DFF, which shows a LOV with the Ship-to addressfrom the customer which we want to serve the goods; i.e. we are acting as a commisionists and the supplier puts the goods in the Ship-to address of the customer.
This Flex Value Set, as I mentioned, have a table validation, with the following validation table information:
Table Application: Oracle Receivables
Table Name: RA_ADDRESSES_ALL a, RA_CUSTOMERS b
Table Columnns: b.CUSTOMER_NAME Varchar2(20), a.PARTY_LOCATION_ID Varchar2(20)
Where/Order By: a.CUSTOMER_ID = b.CUSTOMER_ID
Additional Columns: a.ADDRESS1 "Dirección"(20), a.CITY "Ciudad"(10)
If we translate this to a SQL code:
select a.address1,
a.city,
a.party_location_id,
b.customer_name
from ra_addresses_all a,
ra_customers b
where a.customer_id = b.customer_id
and b.customer_id = 6283 <--- This last condition clause is for narrowing the result to the interested customer.
This select retrive us two records; for the same customer, one of them for one organization_id (let's say 85) and one of them for the other organization_id (84).
What we are looking for and want is that the LOV, which actually display the two records, shows only the ship-to site of the customer that belongs to the organization_id which belongs the user who queries or creates the Purchase Order.
I.e. Suppose that we enter to Purchasing using the responsibility assigned to the Operating Unit or Organization_id 84. We want that theLOV only shows the Ship-to Site from the customer that belongs to the Operating Unit or Organization_id 84.
I believe that we can achieve this using the :$PROFILE$ token, but we do not know how.

I am creating a value set to retrieve inventory org's from org_organization_definitions table. I want to restrict the values based on the operating unit i retrieve from profile options.
How do i write it as a syntax while creating the value set at front end?

We display the accounting flex for each segment in an ADF application we create. We query Fnd_Flex_Values_Vl to find the possible segment values for each segment. The customer has a use case, in EBS, there are two operating units A and B. Both A and B use the same independent flex value set for a key flex field but they display different segment values based on the given operating unit. We need to replicate this behavior in our form to be able to filter the segment values based on the operating unit.
We set the MOAC policy context to a single org so it will only show data from the specified org id. But for segment lookup, it still returns the same list of segment values for both operating units.

Display extra values not displaying extra value

Hi,
I have a SQL query that returns a LOV. I have "Display Extra Values" set to Yes. However, I don't see my "extra value" in the Select List. ?? Yet, when I check the session state, the value in the session state is the extra value. So how come I don't see it in my Select List?

This is from the on-line docs:
To define a value that does not display in the list of values:
a) From Display Extra Value, select Yes.
The extra value is used if the actual column value is not part of the LOV. In that situation, the actual value is shown. If you do not display extra values, you may end up with the wrong value and unintentionally update your data incorrectly.
b) In Null Value, specify the value that displays.
c) If you have not selected a Named LOV, enter the query used to display a select list in the LOV Query field.

Locating Flex-Values

Hello Everyone,
I'm currently trying to identify a flex-value-set in the Oracle Applications Quality Module.
Here is the form information:
Form Application : Process Manufacturing Product Development
Form Name : GMDQSMPL
Form Path : \gmd\11.5.0\forms\US\GMDQSMPL.fmx
Form Version : 11.5.269.115100.80
I need to find the flex-value set which populates the 'Storage Location' given a 'Storage Warehouse'.
The following SQL finds the flex_value_set, but I'm not sure that's the road I want to pursue.
SELECT *
FROM apps.fnd_id_flex_segments
WHERE id_flex_code = 'MTLL' AND enabled_flag = 'Y'
ORDER BY segment_num;
I'm not too sure how to find the list, as I need to change one of the values in the list. Any thoughts are greatly appreciated, thanks.

Value set not working in responsibility

Hello everyone,
I created a custom responsibility and added a custom concurrent program to it (specifically the payroll run concurrent program). Now this concurrent program has a value set attached to it (PY_SRS_PAYROLL_GB) to select the payroll name. My custom concurrent program works great when attached to the Global Super HRMS Manager responsibility, but when attached to my custom responsibility, the value set say list of values contains no entries.
This is the body of the value set:
where pay.business_group_id =
:$PROFILES$.PER_BUSINESS_GROUP_ID
and fnd.session_id = userenv('sessionid')
and fnd.effective_date between pay.effective_start_date
and pay.effective_end_date

Any ideas? Could I have gone wrong somewhere in my responsibility definition? I set the data group to Standard for the Human Resources application. This matches the Global Super HRMS Manager responsibility.

Solution is adding Navigator: Disable Multiform. function to custom menu.
This is an AOL function that should be included on all menus (custom or standard) to allow session_id to be populated.

To get the value in formula cumulative,after you have created the formula for that particular key figure,go to edit and click on tab "calculations".
In that select overall result as 'count all values not equal to zero' and single result as 'count all values not equal to zero' .
And mark the cumulative check box underneath.

Restrict responsibility with one value set

Hi,
We have created a responsibility and we want that to have only one value set. When we add "Flexfield Value" menu to the responsibility it shows the query screen where users can access any value set.
Other than custom.pll or forms personalization, is there any other simple way?

Can't find value set in values screen of flex field

Hi,
I want to see values associated with a value set. This valueset is for one of the segment of Position Flex field of HRMS.
When I go to Application>FlexField>Key>Values and query for the value set, It doesn't appear in the list of value sets. I am unable to find any value set for any segment. Both the value sets are table based.
Can anyone tell me why I can't see them?

You did not say whether you are using Frame 8 or not, but I use Frame 7.2 and have cross-reference elements in my documents; however, they are named XReference. I have no trouble finding them...an element is an element.
Check to be sure your EDD includes elements named xref and that when the insertion point is inside some text that the element catalog shows that xref elements are allowed.
If your EDD does not include xref elements or elements that serve as cross-references but are named differently, then Find will not be able to find them as elements. If you insert your cross-references NOT as elements, then again Find will not find them as elements. You must have an element that you use for cross-references. If so, Find should work.

Currently its showing columns as Account, description
i need to add parent column
i can not modify segment value sets as they are attached to accounting flex fields
so is there any other way i can achieve thie

If it would help your company to be able to change the accounting flexfield and value sets, I might be able to help. there is software to do this on the market. Sometimes when companies need to develop complex reporting, it's a sign that the chart of accounts, the AFF is obsolete, and it makes sense to change it rather than work around it.

How to restrict value set to a certain responsibility

A group of users need access to add values to a value set. We dont want them to access all available value sets. So how can I restrict the responsiblity to access only one value set? can we create a function or something and pass the value set name? or does it need form personalization?

I don't think it's possible adding parameters to the form function. So, you would need to use form personalizations or add some code to the CUSTOM.pll. Another possibility would be to use lookups instead of value sets. Lookups can be restricted using form function parameters.

How to Change Value set Dynamically for a Parameter in Apps?

I have a requirement where i need to change the value set dynamically for a given Parameter. This goes as, I have a Concurrent Program with 4 parameters. First Parameter is mandatory Business group.Second Parameter is Warehouse. Based up on the First parameter the second parameters LoV's are displayed, the third and fourth parameters value sets are dependent up on the Second parameter value. Parameter 2,3,4 Value sets are Table type. So i Used .$FLEX$.Value_setname to retrive the LOV's
The Requirment now is that if the User doesn't enter the Parameter 2 than the Third Parameter field must be Open and he must be able to enter the Free text. In my case it is an Order Number. If the User enters the paramter 2 value than LOV's for ORder number pertaining to that Warehouse must get displayed. I've figured that this can be possible only if i change the Valuesets Dyanamically. I'm not sure if that is possible or not.
I have tried :
Using a Dummy Parameter with a new valueset(Transactable Independent) and giving Y and N based up on Warehouse parameter input.
SELECT (DECODE ( :$FLEX$.WAREHOUSE_NAMES,NULL,'Y','N')) from dual;
The default type was SQL.
Then in the 3rd Parameter i have used Case function to differentiate Y or N. The third parameter being ORder number, is a table type and derived from Oe_order_headers_all.
In the Query section i tried using dummy parameter value set to retreive the values. I was terribly Unsuccessful in doing so.
Does the above Case exists or is Doable? Please, Help me out if somone had worked on Similar thing or have any idea of standard report/program using it in Oracle.

You will probably have better luck on the eBusinesSuite forum. This is more of a setup issue when defining your LOV and program parameters than it is a SQL or PL/SQL issue.

Parent Child Value Sets for Item Categories

I've tried to set up parent-child value sets, not independent-dependent sets for Item Categories but in vain. So, if Item Category has 2 segments - Category & Sub-Category; Sub-Category only shows valid values for a category. For example, if Category is 19 (Tools), the LOV for 2nd segment would only show 28 (Large Tools), 29 (Heavy Tools) etc.
Creating an independent-dependent combination displays all values for the independent & dependent sets.
Just looking for help here.

Basically, this is what we were looking for -
The category structure is
Equipment 1 - Spare 1,
Equipment 1 - Spare 2,
Equipment 2 - Spare 1,
Tools - Large,
Tools - Small,
etc.
When selecting Codes for this structure, if I choose 'Equipment 1' for 1st segment, LOV for 2nd segment would only show 'Spare 1', 'Spare 2'. Similarly, If I choose 'Tools', I only see 'Large', 'Small' for Segment 2.
