Display iFrame in Overlay
Hi all,
Im developping a webpage in which I need to display some iFrame content in the Overlay written with Javascript.
The code works perectly in IE6/7 and Firefox, but in Safari, it works only the first time the overlay comes up. if I click on "back" and repeat that action, it the overlay displays nothing. Can someone help me on this? Thank you.
Issue Environment:
PC: Thinkpad T61
Safari: 3.1.2 for Windows
OS: Windows XP Professional, SP3

I don't know why it's not displaying properly, so I'll suggest some alternatives.
Could you use an <object> and leave the iframe for IE? Or do the whole thing with something like php?

I am building a SWF and the goal is to load in an external SWF file and then display that within my container. They are totally unrelated items and I do not want to modify the functionality of the item I am loading in. My SWF will briefly display a watermark overlay, but then disappear. Can anyone guide me into this best way of doing this?
Also, is there anyway to get the properties from the SWF I loaded in (namely height and width) so I might be able to easily adjust the size of my SWF to match?
Thanks!just load your external swf using the loader class. what you described doing is standard stuff and nothing special needs to be done.
however, you must wait until loading is complete before you can access the loaded object's width and height. -
My Macbook Pro (late 2012) recently started making a weird startup noise coming from the optical drive and displaying a blue overlay screen with a bar at the bottom when waking from sleep, after about 2-3 hours of non-usage. It then takes about 30-45 seconds until I can type in my password. When I first got my computer, this wouldn't happen.
Any idea why it does this and how I can stop it?

(I did click the camera icon to add the picture the first time. I tried it again.)If you want to post an image please use the Camera icon in the message composition window's toolbar. You cannot just drag one in from your computer, hence why your image does not appear.

Reinstalling Lion/Mountain Lion Without Erasing the Drive
Boot to the Recovery HD: Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions: Upon startup select Disk Utility from the main menu. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions as follows.
When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the main menu.
Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion: Select Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion and click on the Continue button.
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible because it is three times faster than wireless. -

keren tsurSharePoint by default includes the HTML header X-Frame-Options:SAMEORIGIN which only allows content within iFrames from the same page host.
You can add
<WebPartPages:AllowFraming runat="server"
/>
to the SharePoint 2013 page to allow it to be used in an iFrame.

Black background in native Display List elements overlayed with Starling
Hello, I'm having an issue in the iPad, where all native DisplayObjects are shown with an opaque black background instead of being transparent while being displayed over Starling graphics using "nativeOverlay". This doesn't happen in the PC, in ADL, only in the iPad. Does anyone know what's causing this?
I also tested in Android, and this doesn't happen. So this is a problem only in iOS. Is this a known problem? Surely someone has tried before to overlay Flash display objects over Starling display objects and had this issue?
Any possible fixes or workarounds for this?

It's StageVideo! If you play any video with StageVideo BEFORE showing any Stage3D/Starling stuff, then you'll get this behaviour (native DisplayObjects with opaque background over Starling).
This is a bug which happens to be almost 1 year old!

Safari will not display iframe content
I have a webpage that uses an iframe that I create. Internet Explorer, Chrome, Opera, and Firefox all display the iframe correctly. On Safari, it is blank. The frame is there but nothing is in it. I can see from Wireshark that the content of the iframe is received but it is not displayed. This occurs on both Mac & Windows..
For example, if I use "“<html><body>CHECK THIS OUT</body></html>” for my iframe code, "CHECK THIS OUT" is displayed in Internet Explorer, Chrome, Opera, and Firefox but on Safari it is blank.
Does something special need to be done on Safari to create an iframe that will be displayed that is not needed on other browsers?You may find some improved online performance with Panther 10.3.9 with
the last supported Flash and Shockwave players installed (older ones have
to be uninstalled) and though the use of Camino browser since it is up-to-date.
There still will be some limitations; but if you have the correct Flash/Shockwave
players for Panther installed and get Camino, and use it as a default replacement
for that ancient Safari, that would make a difference. Also, it always makes sense
to get more RAM in an older computer since they usually shipped with very little.
In the case of older computers, often the capacity of the hard disk drive was also
a matter of marginalization. A large enough drive to have plenty of free space in
it, after applications and the OS X is installed, so the system can have room for
temporary files and Virtual Memory, then it can run the last supported OS X ok.
An externally enclosed bootable hard drive (FireWire enclosed unit) could be
used to add space or a second system for use when at a desktop, so for the
sake of discussion, the internal drive would not necessarily need replaced to
check out a different operating system that may need more room in a drive.
RAM is an easy fix; and a new browser from Camino.org - plus those players.

i've tried different pdfs. They all seem to behave same. It's as if there are 2 copies, one overlayed over the other. I tried to copy and paste, but didn't work. could take a snapshot if necessary. thanks
Try to disable hardware acceleration in Firefox.

Is there a way to detect redraw regions or at the very least when a display object is redrawn?
I have a layered window system that produces Windows 7 Aero Glass effect in Flash.
It consists of nested display objects, with overlays as so.

Windows can be raised and lowered by changing their order in the hierarchy and adding new levels.
Each glass window has a designated background (containing all lower windows) . It draws to an off-screen Bitmap the region of the background that is under the window, and applies a blur filter, tint, and parallax effects to it, and then displays that as it's own background as RenderedEffectBackground.
The problem is that "RenderedEffectBackground" is a static rendering of the window background, so in order to update it in real time, I need to detect when it's background display object (e.g. BackgroudnForGlassWindowTop) or any nested display objects are rendered.
I could simply update all RenderedEffectBackgrounds from the bottom up each frame, but that would be inefficient. Ideally, I could detect when a particular background changes (e.g. when a textfield cursor is flashing, or a MovieClip changes frames), and then only render from that object up. The rendering of course always has to take place from back to front, starting with the lowest window that has changed. If I could detect the redraw regions of the Flash Player (e.g. when a textfield cursor is flashing, or a MovieClip is playing), I could optimize this system even further by checking for layer overlaps and only rendering layers whose windows intersect the redraw regions, but obtaining that level of information would probably not be possible or logical since this this essentially needs to happen during some kind of pre render phase, which Flash may not support. Such a pre-render phase would itself be causing new redraw regions, but as long as it is processed from the bottom up, it could work.
Is there any AS3 function of the flash player that allows my code to obtain information about the display list as far as which display objects are due to be rendered, and then intercept some kind of "onRenderComplete" event for them right before rendering takes place so that I can render the higher display objects.
I originally tried to implement this as a filter, but pixel bender shaders in AS3 don't seem to allow sampling of an underlying object that would allow for blurring (i.e. the shader can access only the current point being rendered, coordinates passed to the sampling methods are ignored (this is documented behavior).
Any ideas?The feature that shows the link you are mousing over hasn't been removed in 29. Maybe the add-on you are using to restore the add-on bar is covering it. No year displayed in events/rolls?
Hello all,
Kind of a frustrating problem, in what seems like a great update. It is most relevant when viewing library in events mode. Even scrolling in Photos mode, the year no longer displays on the overlay. The year is clearly in the data, I think, as it has been fine until now. Anyone have any ideas? The display is consistent throughout the whole library, with two different cameras and scanned photos. iPhoto 6 displayed month and year just fine.
Frustrating to see "April 4," and so on under every event for 6 years, with no year! I have looked at other users screenshots, and the year definitely appears where mine does not. I think I have scoured the settings and preferences, but maybe I missed something.
I know it is something simple, and least I hope.
I took some small screenshots, but am not sure how to post them in.

AdamStrange, what does your date settings look like? It seems as though iPhoto uses the third setting to display the dates in the overlay. If that date does not show a year in your system preferences then iPhoto will not show it either.

How do I hide the stacks badge overlays on images in the browser?
In View > Metadata Display > Show metadata is off, but the badge (with the number in the stack) is still visible.

Click OK.
Make sure both Show Metadata and the metadata overlay view you just modified are selected for the Browser in the Metadata Overlays pop-up menu in the tool strip.
Badge overlays are now visible in the Browser.

I have a requirement where I am suppose to display an IFrame in my jsp.
How to keep a check if the IFrame src URL (another application) is up or not?
If the server is down, I am getting 404 / IBM WAS error message page.
I want to keep a check as if the app is available then only display IFrame / display my own error message.
Again, it is a portal site where performance is of prime importance -- can someone guide me please??

Coldfusion displaying blank frame

We are currently experiencing some sporadic behaviour in one of the modules within our application. We have been investigating this issue for 6 Days now and have reached a stage where our investigations are nearly exhausted. We were hoping that you may have encountered an similar to this issue previously, I was also hoping that your knowledge and expertise in ColdFusion may assist us in identifying the cause of the issue.
The Issue:
The problematic module basically queries a large table in the database and returns data matching the users Search Criteria. Recently the module has started displaying only the column headers after 30 seconds (Despite data existing within the table matching the search criteria). On occasion the module does work as expected, displaying both the column headers and the relevant data within the table.
We have monitored the ColdFusion .log files, however so far no errors have been reported.
I would greatly appreciate any information or advice you can offer regarding this issue.
