Display of 0FISCPER in a Query
Greetings all.
I'm busy with an upgrade from 2.1 to 3.5
I've finished doing the upgrade in our test environment and currently I'm testing my queries, loads etc. I've discover that my Time characteristics are not displaying the same anymore. The problem occurs with the text variables of these characteristics and also when they are displayed as data.
For example August 2005 use to display as Aug 2005 in version 2.1 but now in 3.5 it displays as AUG. I realize that the one is the medium text and the other the short text. However changing the InfoObject-BEx tab to use the Medium description doesn't seem to fix the problem. Also making changes to the query didn't help either.
Any suggestions will be appreciated.
Thanks,
Meurant Naude

Hi,
Welcome to SDN.
Have you tried the "Transfer Global settings" option when you right click on the Source system in RSA1.
Also check the texts in transaction OB29.
Hope it helps.

BI Statistics -- Need to display list of Queries with query counter
Hi All,
I am using the the infoobject
0TCTBISBOBJ (BI Application Object) - for to get the list of queries inthe system.
I am also restricting the infoobject 0TCTBISOTYP(BI Application Object Type)- to ELEM (Query) inthe filter area.
I loaded load master data for 0TCTBWOBJCT_ATTR and 0TCTBWOBJCT_TEXT.
The PROBLEM is 0TCTBISBOBJ (BI Application Object) is not only displaying queries but all the other elements like navigational attributes and some junk values like
'$ABSEMA0
'$VIRTUAL-000001
Please help me isolate just queries for my display.
Thanks,
HMHI,
Your query setup is correct, please check Note 936519 - Duplicate Records while loading 0TCTBWOBJCT master data, and many others.
I have customers running stack 11 & 12 and had to apply dozens of notes to get TCT 7.0 to work properly. And even now about 3 notes per week are being released.

How to display output of from clause query?
Hi. I am using Forms Developer 10g. I have a datablock which uses a from_clause_query. In my from_clause_query, i used a WITH AS SELECT.
I am trying to display the output of this query in my forms but the first column, V_CUTOFF_TO is not displayed, probably because it is not a database item. It was a result of my initial WITH AS SELECT query months. How can i display this along with the output of my from_clause_query. Thanks in advance for the help. Displaying name of the Used Query-View in a Web Template
Hello Experts,
I am using a Query View as Dataprovider in a Web Template.
Now I would like to display the name of the View.
But with a Text Element this isn't possible.
You can only display the name of the Query.
Is there a way to display the name of the used Query-View?
Thank you for your help.
D.KramerHi Sumit,
hi Björn,
thank you for your hints.
We use a template to enable users to create Views.
So its dynamic.
That way we don't know the Name of the Views in advance.
(So putting the text into 'Title' is not possible)
We already use the "Query View Selection". This works out for users that are able to see different Views. (Power User)
But is it also possible to display the Query View Name in an Item or with html methods for those templates where there is only one View (as dataprovider) we don't know in advance?
Thanks again.

Display the result of a query in descending order.
Hello Experts,
How can I display the result of a query in descending order?
Thanks much in anticipation.
Regards.Hi Kumar,
If you want to display char in descending order, in the query designer set the sorting setting as desceing for that particular characteristics, or if you want to see the KF in descending order, create a condition on that KF and set as TOP N and set N as 999999, that would display your KF in descending order.

A keyfigure is not getting displayed in the DSO and query
hi friends,
i have newly developed a DSO with 11 keyfigures and with some 10 characteristics. i created DTP , transformations etc., and i loaded data into it and activated it succesfully.
now when i select display data of this DSO one of my keygure is not getting displayed.
even tht same keyfigure is not appearing in the query too.
but when i check the active table of this dso in SE11 , tht keyfigure is displayed with values.
could anyone help through this issue.Hi
Even I faced such an issue earlier. I could resolve it simply by readjusting the DSO i.e. to delete the keyfigure and add it in the structure once again, before this you have to delete the data in the DSO. Also, if you have a multiprovider on the DSO make sure that the keyfigure concerned is identified.
Let us know if this works for you. Thanks. -
Hello Experts,
i have created a report where i have one parameter field where user will pass parameter(e.g. EmpId). As per parameter record will fetched to report if no parameter is passed then it will display all records. I have done it by taking SqlServer Database as datasource.
by using Following method
Now i would like to do it by taking Sharepoint List as Datasource. For that what would be the CAML Query.
Here is my existing CAML query.
<RSSharePointList xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema">
<ListName>Employees</ListName>
<ViewFields>
<FieldRef Name="Title" />
<FieldRef Name="FirstName" />
<FieldRef Name="LastName" />
<FieldRef Name="FullName" />
<FieldRef Name="UserName" />
<FieldRef Name="Company" />
</ViewFields>
<Query>
<Where>
<Eq>
<FieldRef Name="Title" />
<Value Type="Text">
<Parameter Name="EmployeeId"/>
</Value>
</Eq>
</Where>
</Query>
</RSSharePointList>
The above code is working if i am passing an employeeId to Parameter. If nothing is passed, it is Not retrieving any record.
Please suggest
Thank you
saroj
sarojYour problem follows the well-established pattern of using an "All" parameter filter in SSRS. There are a few approaches depending on the size of your data. The easiest one is to return all data from CAML and then filter it within SSRS, the following thread
provides some examples,
http://stackoverflow.com/questions/18203317/show-all-records-some-records-based-on-parameter-value.
Other options include passing all of the possible values within the CAML query when "All" is selected, using multiple Report Files to distinguish between both CAML queries, or to use multiple datasets with some logic to show/hide the correct one.

How to display a 1 to many query result in a single row?
Hi,
I want to display a 1 to many relationship in a query in just one row. The current result is that I get more than 1 rows. How can I display it in one column with the additional attribute in a column, without repeating? Thank you.
Select s.student, t.teacher from student_table s, teacher_table t where s.id = t.student_id
Result
Student Teacher
John Doe Larry Woe
John Doe Mary Moe
I would rather get a result like this:
Result
Student Teacher 1 Teacher 2
John Doe Larry Woe Mary Woe
Edited by: Samantha on May 18, 2011 2:48 PMHi,
Will all Students have exactly two Teachers?
If not picture your sample with two more Students.
One having 1 Teacher
One having N Teachers
Think about N, what will it be? - How would you create a table with N columns?
If you can't easily answer above, re-consider what you are trying.
That said, it could still be done - even if all Students do not have exactly two Teachers - and is called Pivot a dynamic number of columns.
Examples are in FAQ
SQL and PL/SQL FAQ
Still a bad idea, with or without known number of teachers

How to display a popup message in query (through process chain)
Hi Gurus,
I need your help.
I have an input query that triggers an event (through a button) and runs a process chain.
I would like to show a popup message to inform the user when the process chain is over.
Using function modules I've been able to show popup messages in the workbench, but I want to display this message directly in Bex Analyzer 7.0.
Thanks
GabboHi,
I'm also looking for a solution to display a custom message in the Bex Analyser at logon.
Using function module in the logon user-exit works but only when loggin to the workbench.
I don't want to use SM02 (which works in both cases) because I need to display a variable message depending on the user.
If someone has an idea, I'll really appreciate.
Best regards and happy New Year to all of you. -
Display technical name of a query in a web template ?
Hi,
I try to display in a basic web template the technical name of my query with a web item. In this order, I have tried to use the web item 'Text Elements' but how could I configure the latter in order to have only the technical name ?
I have selected 'Display General Text Elements' in properties of the web item.
In the property 'List of Text Elements', what is the couple of values that I have to configure ?
Many thanks,
CG.Hi,
What you need to do is, keep a TEXT Web Item in the template.
Then do not tick any of the options under Specific. Instead, go to List of Text Elements. In the first column, select General Text Symbol. In the next column type REPTNAME.
This will give the technical name of the query in the output.
Common text elements:
u2212 technical name of the query (REPTNAME)
u2212 description of the query (REPTXTLG)
u2212 InfoProvider (INFOCUBE)
u2212 key date for the query (SRDATE)
u2212 accuracy of the data (date and time) (ROLLUPTIME)
u2212 the person who wrote the query (AUTHOR)
u2212 the last time the query was changed (date and time)
(MODTIME)
u2212 the last person to make changes to the query (MODUSER)
u2212 current user (SYUSER)
u2212 the last time the query was refreshed (date and time)
(SYUZEIT)
Try this. Hope it helps. -

Hi All,
I am crawling documents from a file server. I created a new content source and crawled the documents. All documents are crawled successfully.
Then I went to my enterprise search center site collection and created a new result source. I have added the query to use above content source.
After that, on a page I am trying to configure the search results web part to display documents using this result source. Now the problem is:
It displays all the documents that are crawled without searching for anything. I mean first it should not display any results. If a user searches for something , then according to that search it should display results.
Any idea how to do this in the web part? I am using SharePoint 2013 on premise enterprise edition. No code. Totally OOTB.Hi Mohan,
What did you use for the Query text in the result source?
I could reproduce this issue when I used Query text like: {searchTerms} Path:”http://sps2k13sp/sites/First/Shared%20Documents”
Then I changed the Query to
{?{searchTerms}
Path:"http://sps2k13sp/sites/First/Shared%20Documents"}
, then Search result web part didn’t return results without searching.
So , check your result source, and use the Query like the above(adding "{?...}").
I hope this helps.
Thanks,
Wendy

Long text not displayed in outpur of adhoc query

When i run i only see the short text of the Org unit.I tried changing the output display option as 'Value and text' and 'text' both but it shows the short text only.
Could you please suggest what changes i need to make to the infoset to view the long text of the Org unit.
elp will be highly appreciated.
sushilThe help text does not say that this is the case for routings (and I dont know it either as I never loaded text for routings).
Of course you can read your text with the function module, as you enter the keys like you done it to load the text.
But this is not a proof at all.
In 90 % where the text does not appear it is just a matter of the used key. maybe forgot to have leading zeros in the name field.
Best you enter a text manually in a route, then you use SE16 with table STXH to find this record, and then you compare the key fields of this record with the key fields of a record you created with the upload.
if this is all okay, then it might have to do with a text indicator in the normal tables of the routing. -
Trying to display results from access database query on a JSP
Seem to be having real difficulty with this one, i keep getting a null pointer exception :(. Wondered if anyone could point me to any examples of displaying the results on jsp. The database is connected, as i can display the query on netbeans, but just not on a jsp.
I think it would be good if we had a section in these forums for pre-canned answers to the same questions that come up again and again. It would save time.
Here is a rough outline for using JSP:
* Read a JSP book.
* The JSP page (View in MVC) should get all the data it needs to display from a useBean and/or request.getAttribute().
* The JSP page should not have any business logic. Its purpose is to display data only (and have some submit buttons such as 'update').
You can do some basic client side validation using javascript if you want. Because there is no business logic in it, you can easily debug
your code in the servlet or business logic. You can't set breakpoints in JSP and examine data easily.
* When you click the submit button, all data from <input type="text" tags, etc is put into request scope via name/value pairs.
* Submit the JSP page <form tag to a servlet (Control in MVC).
* The servlet reads the name/value pairs of data from the JSP page via request.getParameter()
* The servlet should then instansiate a business object (Model in MVC), passing the data it got from the page to the business logic.
Example: ProcessPage processPage();
if(request.getParameter("updateButtonClicked"))
processPage.updateData(data from the jsp page)
* The business logic should instansiate a separate database object (DAO) to get data to/from the database. Business logic should not have sql in it.
Business logic should not generate html. Business logic should not have request objects in it.
* The business logic should return data to the servlet that in turn will put it in request scope via request.setAttribute() so the JSP page can draw itself.
* The servlet should then call up the approprate JSP page. -
All Dates displayed for "Characteristic Values" in Query Designer
Hello Experts,
We are on BI 7.0, level 13. I am having an issue within the Query Designer with regards to dates. I have a write-optimized DSO that contains 3 date fields (for example, ZDATE1, ZDATE2, and ZDATE3). Each date InfoObject is of type DATS so the system automatically creates it with reference to 0DATE.
When I create a query in the Query Designer, on the left hand side, I expand the "Characteristic Values" node under each date field. The Query Designer shows the same list of values for each of the 3 dates even though they are not valid values posted in the DSO for those fields.
For example, ZDATE1 only has 1 value posted in the DSO (01/01/2005).
ZDATE2 only has 1 value posted in the DSO (01/01/2006).
ZDATE3 only has 1 value posted in the DSO (01/01/2007).
Bute when I expand the "Characteristic Values" node in the Query Designer, I see ALL THREE values under each date field. I would expect to only see the 1 value posted for the InfoObject in the DSO. Also note that each InfoObject is defined to show "Only posted values in InfoProvider".
It appears that Query Designer will show all values for the reference InfoObject 0DATE instead of the ones posted to the actual InfoObject in the DSO. If I delete the data in the DSO, the Characteristic Values list still remains because they exist in 0DATE. Anyone encounter this before? How can I get the Characteristic Values list to only show posted values for that InfObject?
Thanks for your help!
JThanks for the response. I went into the DSO and right clicked on each of the Date fields. I looked at the Provider-specific properties and there is the option for "Query Exec.FilterVal" which only restricts what values appear when restricting during execution, not during query creation.
Is there someplace else I should look or someplace else I can make change to only display posted dates when creating a query? Thanks!
