Display only - losing data

I am using apex 4
I have a page item that is display only. It gets populated dynamically as the user enters data.... works fine. However, during the validation process if there is a validation failure page returns it 'loses' its data. I have set the 'Save Session State' to yes and it still fails. Is there a simple solution to this ?

What is this code that dynamically populates the display? Are you just appending innerHTML and ignoring the associated hidden input item?

I would like to display the Date below each image in Aperture 3. When I select "Date" in the Browser & Viewer Metadata window, the result is a very long string with the Date, the Time and the Time Zone. meaning that most of the time I see nothing because the string is much too long to be displayed...

In the past I used Expression Media and the config for displaying such info was better.
Aperture has a strange interface for it (and for other parameters), it does not behave at all like an Apple software (for the GUI), probably an external development team... but I agree it is more complex than iPhoto.
Aperture is 10x more complex than iPhoto.
If you want to see a rigid, boxed, "engineer"-style image database interface, take a look at Lightroom 3. It's a great program -- but it's a very different concept of information presentation and interaction.

Role composition for ESS to display only own data.

I am trying to compose a role for Employee Self Service for employees to display their payroll, but i couldn't manage to structure it to display only their own personnel data. I had to put the personnel area in P_ORGIN however in that case they become authorised to display all employees' data in that personnel area. Can i use P_PERNR object for this operation? Please advise.

You can give I in PSIGN field for the infotypes that you want to 'Include' for an employee, and E in PSIGN field for the infotypes that you want to 'Exclude' for an employee.
Whether those Infotypes will be Read or Maintain will be dependent on the value in the AUTHC field.

You can build your own runtime menu (Edit>runtime menu) and then e.g. only display the application items you want to.

Displaying Specific xml data.

Hi there,
I have a database exporting stock detail as xml data. I've been using spry to format.
What I was wondering, is it possible to filter to display only certain data?
My xml data contains electrical products. Can I filter to only display certain products?
For example I only want to display when Product type is Fridge and Brand is BEKO.
Product type, Brand, Description, Price
Sorry, but I'm really stuck. I can't work out how to do it!

The xml contains full details for anywhere between 70 to 100 products. I've pasted the fields in below. Does the entire xml have to load before it can filter? If so I might need to look at the xml output. I only want the user to be able to see specifc products depending on the page they are on. So if they navigate Television/Panasonic the spry only displays those products.

SE93. Enter a transaction name. Create. In the pop up enter a title and select 'Transaction with parameters'.
Next screen fill the following;
Transaction 'SM30'
Check 'Skip first screen'
In the table control at the bottom of the screen
Name of screen field 'VIEWNAME'
Value <your table name>
Name of screen field 'SHOW'
Value 'X'
Save.
Job done.

Displaying diff dates using PL/SQL expression for 'display only' item ?

I am having a display only item -- :P2_FROM_Date . If its Thu,Fri,Sat or Sun I want to set the date as the last Monday's date . If its Mon,Tue or Wed then it should be the present Monday's date .
E.g: Today is Friday and the last Monday was on 18th .
So for yesterday , today,tomorrow and Sunday , the date should be displayed as 18-JUN-2012.
From the coming Monday to Wednesday , the date should of be the coming Monday i.e , 24-JUN-2012
I tried it doing under 'Source ' of item using PL/SQL expression and PL/SQL function body. Not working
Can someone help ?

Background Job Still Running - Data Can Be Displayed Only Msg Populated in Maintain Versions (OKEQ) Screen

I try to create 2013 FY in "Setting for Each FY" in OKEQ - Maintain Versions unfortunately I have created Null FY, try to delete Null FY on the time it will ask Job schedule, I have cancelled the job & reopen Maintain Versions (OKEQ) screen on the time system populated the msg "Background Job still running - Data can be displayed only"
In Settings for Each FY screen there is no New Entries button, all FY are blocked status, changes was not allowed.
How can I resolve it.

Yes you are correct, on the time of deletion it will ask Background Job Process, for immediate deletion must & should select "NO".
While "Settings for Each FY" screen populates message "Background Job Still Running - Data Can Be Displayed Only" open screen in display mode enter the command "=KILL" in command bar press enter, then you will allow to changes get New Entries button also.

How to make "Data Entry Profile" field input unable or display only in CAT2

I have requiremnet where I need to make "Data Entry Profile" field in the CAT2 transaction as Display only .That is for each user it should come as default one .
The reason behind this is , user should not change this Profile and maintain an incorrect timesheet entries.
Is there any User exit where i can do this ?

Got SHD0 transaction and create screen variant for that transaction there you can disable that field.
Create Transaction variant for that transaction and assign previously created screen variant to this transaction varient. actiavte.

Make sure you don't have any open sessions. If not, then go to SM12, and delete the relevant locked entry.

Why did you open a new thread when you had gotten quite a few responses and suggestions on the [url http://forums.oracle.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=998411]thread where you asked the same question - seems the best thing to do would be to continue on the same thread?
However, your question has nothing to do with JDeveloper/ADF. If you'd like to do it the ADF way, it's trivially easy - you can use the [url http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E15523_01/apirefs.1111/e12419/tagdoc/af_exportCollectionActionListener.html]af:exportCollectionActionListener component, which does what you are asking for. If you want to use a straight JSP way, there were several good suggestions in the other thread you opened, or Googling "jsp export to excel" will get you about 4.6 million hits; the first 10 or so look pretty promising.

Command to display only the latest modified directory within another directory and display the date of the last modify

Okay I want to be able to run a .cmd file from my workstation to query a certain folder on remote clients. I want the command to find the specific folder within another folder and display the current date modified of that folder. I was
able to use a command prompt to list the subdirectory that I was looking for on a specific computer by using the
DIR command. It was something like this:
dir C:\ParentFolder\ChildFolder /ad /o-d /b
This shows a list of directories within the "ChildFolder" directory. The output would be something like:
dir C:\ParentFolder\ChildFolder /ad /o-d /b
folder1
folder2
folder3
folder4
So what I need now is a way to just show the folder in this group that had the most recent modification. For example if "folder2" was the most recently modified folder in the group, I would like my command line to just display "folder2 04/08/14

I would like to run this as a script from my admin workstation that will query clients that have the "ChildFolder" directory. Is there a way to output the results to a .log/.txt file? I was working on .cmd that looked like this:

Object browser displays only First 31 columns in Data section of a table.

I need to download data from a table which has almost 60 columns. When i selected table from object browser and clicked on data section of this table, only first 31 columns are displayed and when clicked on download, only the data for those 31 columns is displayed. How to download data of all colums of this table

I have the same problem, but my limit is 21 columns. I think the limit is caused by the DataReader SchemaTable. Check the following value:
IDataReader.GetSchemaTable().Columns.Count
Columns in the SchemaTable are Metadata (ColumnName, ColumnSize, DataType, AllowDBNull...), the columns that are selected with the DataReader are stored in the SchemaTable Rows Property.
For Oracle and SQLServer i used this workaround:
DataTable dataTable = IDataReader.GetSchemaTable();
while (dataTable.Columns.Count < dataTable.Rows.Count)
dataTable.Columns.Add("Dummy" + dataTable.Columns.Count.ToString(), typeof(bool));
I think developpers of CR use the Columns.Count instead of Rows.Count property when getting the data out of the DataReader.
