Display success message in same page when submit button is clicked

I have a jsp page, where i use a form to submit data into my database.when submit button is clicked, i am able to display "Data entered Successfully" in a different page. But i want to display the message in the same jsp page.
what do i do?
PS :- i have tried a javascript message box, but that is not working properly. I need this solved urgently.

I did the following, but it didnt work....
1) Created a hidden item on the page, and in the Default Value field, I set the value to N.
2) Created a button in the report with the following values under "Optional URL Redirect":
Target is a: Page in this application
Page: 4
Set these items: P1_SHOW_FORM
With these values: Y
3) Created a form of HTML text type with the following values under "Conditional Display":
Condition Type: Request=Expression 1
Expression 1: P1_SHOW_FORM='Y'

Query on redirecting to a page when login button is clicked

I want to redirect to/pop up an existing page with page name 9 when the login button in the log in page is
clicked.Is that possible?.Now it is redirecting to page 1.

On login page (probably Pane 101) you have Login proces. Edit it to:
wwwxxxxxxxx.login(
P_UNAME => :P101_USERNAME,
P_PASSWORD => :P101_PASSWORD,

P_FLOW_PAGE => :APP_ID||':'||nvl(:P101_PAGE_ID,'9')
And probably you have to change Logout link in your Authentication Schemes:

To display the same page when an error occurs.

Hi,
I need to display the same page when an error occurs in the page. For example, I am validating a few fields in a page. If an error occurs, then same page is to be displayed.
I am presently using MVC type programming.

I usually use the Message class, for handling all possible validations. In the DO_HANDLE_DATA, do the validation, and if your validation fails, put your message in the message attribute available for that method. As you have not given a pointer to a new page, it will refresh that same page.
If your validation is successful, go to next page.
In the layout of this page(where you require validation), there is an attribute called page and it has get_message method. Call that method at the appropriate place in the layout.

Display success message when validate is successful

This sounds like the simplest thing but there is no box to put a success message in for validates. I have a text area that resets a database password, I would like to display "password changed successfully" in the region of the page this is on. I've tried setting and clearing some variables but they always seem to be set when I don't want them to be or vice versa.
And yes I am new to this, as if you couldn't tell.......

This should not involve page validations. You should be using a page process to reset the password. Then you can check "include process success message" in the page branch definition.

I'm not sure this is the best practice... try to add the item in the arraylist, then when u click next button, add 10 to the counter. subtract if it is a previous button. thats it!
ex..
for(int x=counter;x<=arraylist.lenght();x++)

server by calling RPC remote service.For calling remote service i
am using penneframework. On penneframework, Remote service call
result are populated in RemoteResult object. It dont have any other
event method for handling result event.For errror handling, i have
defaultHandler for displaying error message.
Here i am having two requirements
1. I should be able to track RPC response, so that i can
display success message to user along with DB generated ID.
2. I need to reset all form field after receiving RPC
response.
Here my question is
1.How i can track server response, so that i can display
success or error message.
2. Is their any event or coding technique which i can use for

Dont think you can use custom message classes in RFC's. Try using a generic message and check if the message is being populated.

Hello,
We can use an exporting parameter like single character field like 'S' for success and 'E' for error instead of a message.
Another option is you can use the Tables parameter and populate Return table with error or success message. Return table of type 'BAPIRET2'.

I have a requirement where i need to show a popup or alert when the submit button is clicked twice . When it is clicked for the first time one method is been called and its process starts. When the user clicks the submit button for the second time they should be shown a popup stating "Submit button already been clicked, please clicked OK to continue".

I dont have any sample code to give you now. For quick reference, I can advice some psuedo steps to achieve your requirement. I dont have access to JDEV to test this. If any syntax errors then pls correct yourself.
1. Extend Controller since it is standard page ( Refer Anil Passi site for steps to extend seeded ontroller)
2. Write below logic in your Process Request method

pageContext.putSessionValue("status", "notInitiated");
3. Include below logic in your PFR method
if(pageContext.getSessionValue("status")!=null){
if("notInitiated".equals(pageContext.getSessionValue("status")))

pageContext.putSessionValue("status", "initiated");

String message = "Display error message as required";

You may need to import required packages ( Related to OAException).
Remeber, to sumbit the request, user need to refresh the page again so that "status" variable will be refreshed.

How to insert into 2 tables from the same page (with one button link)

PK = note_id

I want to do an insert into both tables via the application and also via the same page (with one button link). I have made a form to add an employee with an add button - adding an employee is no problem.
Now, on the same page, I have added a html text area in another region, where the user can write a note. But how do I get the note to insert into the Notes table when the user clicks the add button?
In other words, when the user clicks 'add', the employee information should be inserted into the Employees table and the note should be inserted into the Notes table.
How do I go about doing this?

My pl/sql code is the same as posted earlier.
Upon inserting data into the forms and clicking the add button, I get this error...
ORA-06550: line 1, column 102: PL/SQL: ORA-00904: "NOTES": invalid identifier ORA-06550: line 1, column 7: PL/SQL: SQL Statement ignored
     Error      Unable to process row of table EMPLOYEES.
Is there something wrong with the pl/sql code or is it something else?

I have created a button (via Content Editor) that uses JavaScript to open the Attachments folder of a list item in the Explorer Window in SharePoint 2010. The purpose is to have drag and drop functionality for each list item, having multiple attachments.
The button works but opens the "Attachments" folder containing all of the other folders for each list item (one folder per item). It seems that when you add an attachment to a list item, SharePoint numbers the folder based on the item's ID. What
I'm trying to do is take the JavaScript I have and have it run when a button is clicked in a custom form. When it runs, I'm trying to get it to open the "specific" folder for the list item. I have had success creating a hyperlink in the list that
does this; however, the link WILL NOT work until I use the Content Editor created button that runs JavaScript, that prompts me to click OK to my profile certificate, and then opens the Attachment folder. After that occurs, I can use my hyperlinks without issue
because I'm no longer prompted to click OK for my cert.
So I'm trying to take the JavaScript I have and place it in a list item form (custom form) and have it run when a form button is clicked. The problem is I have very little knowledge of JavaScript (did I mention little?) and
"don't know how to take the "http:" address I have in the script and append to it the list item ID, according to the record I have open."
So that for any record I open, the script will grab the corresponding record ID (or list item ID) and append it.

Thank you for pointing that out. I appended your "GetUrlKeyValue" to the end and it worked. That said, I noticed it doesn't run as smoothly as when I simply click on the Content Editor button I created that resides on the SharePoint List
ASPX page (not the form). The Content Editor button has the same code, minus the "GetUrlKeyValue". I click it; I get prompted to choose my cert; it opens right up.
Now go to the ASPX Display form where I dump the code in a table cell. Button appears in cell; I click it; wait; wait; I get prompted for cert; it opens. Do I need some sort of "throttle" for the JavaScript? For instance, I thought before running
JavaScript, you reference the library first. This code doesn't do that. I'm wondering if there's something more I need to make this run smoothly. Thank you both for getting me this far.

Hiding the submit button on click

I have a req where i have 4 buttons which displays some info on the same page when clicked. if i click on button 1, button1 should not be displayed after clicking, if i click on button 2, button2 should not be displayed. I tried this using setRendered(false) in the PFR. But it throws an error that the webBean property should be modified in PF. How can i achieve this??

Create a property VO with the attribute of type Boolean. Using the SPEL expression technique, set the rendered property value to thie VO Attribute at the design time. When the button gets clicked, call the Some of the AMImpl method, which can set the Boolean.TRUE or Boolean.FALSE value based on your requirement. hope this helps.

My apologies...the version is 11.1.4.62 not as stated aboive in my problem description. I'm trying again and it just finished syncing fine and my iPhone 5 is still connected to iTuns physcially with USB lightening cable and is displaying the iPhone icon top right. I clicked on it and iTunes is now "hung' or locked up. Shows to be an active running application but can't get back to it so willl have to kill with task manager. There is some kind of problem going on with the latest version of iTunes and Wndows 7 and 8.1 or something. My iPhone 5 now has a new feature that it is now asking me if I "Trust" this computer. iTunes just came "unhung" after several minutes while I was typing this. Now I am going to start the backup to this computer HP Winsows 8.1 and iTune 11.1.4.62 and see what happens. Says it is Backing up Jerrys iPhone but the Barber Pole progress bar is not turning an iTunes is hung again and I cant get back to it from this page I am typing on. Maybe it will eventually release as it did a moment ago.
