Display XML in DWMX2004 page

I've been able to create a valid XML doc. I wanted to display
the data
inside a DWMX2004 templated page. Tried the standard things
on WC3 and other
XML books and resources and did not have any luck. (Most of
it is over my
head, parsers, js and the like)
So I check help for DW and follow their instructions to
import XML. I now
have the data in the file, but cannot get the CSS to show up
properly in IE
6/7. It will render in DW and FF 1.5. I did try *not* using
the doctype
declaration and it will display in FF but not IE. I've tried
a number of
permutations of moving things around in the DW file as the DW
instructions
are not specific enough. This is especially frustrating
because the file
works as a stand alone doc.
DW says to first export your page with a template applied as
an XML file.
Then I added the XML data into the content editable region
even though it
does not state specifically to do this. Then I imported the
DW XML file.
This all may be a DW thing and not IE. I can't find
references to this
specifically though. I have found numerous posts about IE6
XML and CSS bugs.
It may be that I don't have the right code in the right place
in the DW
file.

You can use escape characters.

I am not able to post the string which I have used, it is displaying the actual content. Remove the space in above string after & character and remove "new" and try creating raw text.
It works as you expected. br is used for new lines and & lt are for less than symbol and similar for >
Lets see, if some one comes with better approach if you dont like this.

set the MIME type of the page to "text/xml".
while creating the page if you create it with extention .xml, the system would automatically set this for the page.
and just place the string holding the XML in the layout .

i ve included <xsl:output method="html" indent="yes" /> inside my xsl file. i clicked on output.xml file and everything is displayed correctly but the format is xml instead of html. is there anyway to transform it to html?

IE + SVG = "Cannot display XML page" ?

Dear friends,
   I am from Taiwan. I have a question about SVG display on IE.
   I have a very simply SVG file as the following code. I installed Ferdora R12 with apache web server (192.168.0.8) inside my company.
I installed Tomcat 6.0 on my PC(192.168.0.100, window 7 with IE8.0). I put this SVG file on Fedora, and I can see the vector graphs through
Chrome and Firefox, but not IE(already installed SVG viewer, with the error message as following). I put this SVG file on my PC, I can see the vector graphs by IE, Chrome and Firefox through Tomcat or opening file directly. I even put this SVG file on the web server of my company, and vector graphs can be displayed well through all of IE, Chrome and Firefox.
The problem seems only happen in the situation "Fedora R12 + IE". Do you have any idea of this problem? I really need your help.

Displaying XML Document in new browser window

Hi,
I have a hyperlink on my page. When I click on it, it will open a new IE window and display xml document.
The new window is displaying some of the xml and at the end displaying the following:
The XML page cannot be displayed
Cannot view XML input using XSL style sheet. Please correct the error and then click the Refresh button, or try again later.
End element was missing the character '>'. Error processing resource 'http://localhost:28080/benchmark/faces/displayXMLDocu...
However, I cut and paste the xml String where I write it to the HTTPServletResponse to XMLSPY and it displays correctly.
Please let me know.

How to display XML file that XI sent to my j2ee appl?

In my scenario File->XI->J2EE appl.
I got XML page cannot be displayed.
XML document must have a top level element. Error processing resource 'http://localhost:7001/Invoke/DisplayRes'.
I deployed my .ear file on BEA Weblogic application server9.0
I found no error when i tested in SXI_MONI and RWB->Message monitor as well.
This is my servlet code:

Display Table on Several Pages

Hi Guru's,
I have created a form wich contains a table (for example Faglflext), this table is very big and cannot to be displayed on only one page. But my problem is when I do a print preview when I run the form, the table is not fully displayed, only the first page.
I tried to play with the properties of the subform pagination but I don't know which to use.
Have you any idea?

Try this...
1. Placed the TextField inside a subform and set its Content to Flowed from Object palette.
2. On the Field tab of the text field's Object property tab, check the Allow Multiple Lines checkbox
3. Now again for the text Field, click on the Layout tab, check the Expand To Fit checkbox under Y:/Height
Just check what is the form type and defaults in LiveCycle Designer by going to Form Properties. The preview type and preview adobe XML form needs to be Interactive and Dynamic XML form respectively.
Hopefully that solves your issue.

How to Display XML in a UIWebView?

Hi everybody. I like how Safari displays XML files and I would like to emulate that functionality in an iPhone UIWebView. However, I just can't get it to look the same when passing a URL to the UIWebView.
For example, take a simple XML file like http://molottery.com/rss-num.xml. Viewing that in Safari looks okay, but passing that same URL into a UIWebView just shows a blank page.
I changed the web protocol from http to feed (feed://molottery.com/rss-num.xml) and it launches the page in Safari instead of my UIWebView. Looks good, but it quit my app... :- (
I noticed that XML files on the iPhone get re-routed through reader.mac.com so I tried appending that to my URL (http://reader.mac.com/mobile/v1/http://molottery.com/rss-num.xml) but that did not work either.
When I tried URLEncoding the string like Safari does (http://reader.mac.com/mobile/v1/http%3A%2F%2Fmolottery.com%2Frss-num.xml) I get a UIWebView saying that "This Application Is Viewable Only On iPhone".
So how can I emulate the regular Safari XML functionality inside my UIWebView? I will post my code upon request, if that will help. Any assistance from the Developer Community would be greatly appreciated.

The easiest way to do so (IMHO) is DOM. You can download Xerces (a DOM parser). Xerces can be downloaded free from xml.apache.org. There is extensive documentation and code examples. You will need to include XercesImpl.jar and xml-apis.jar in your class path. You will then, generally, use the javax.xml.parser classes as well as the org.w3c.dom classes.

if u wanna extract data from XML. you can use Digester(Apache-jakarta) parser. All u need to create the beans(as per the data in xml), that will be populated by Digester.
Digester takes xml(string) as parameter and populates the bean specified.
U can use this bean in ur JSP.

How to display xml imported info on 2 identical tables

I am lost.
I am importing xml info and display these info on different pages, this includes a dynamic table, which is perfectly displayed on the first page. no problem until here. However, I simply cannot display this table a second time.
Any idea?

Usually if you want to display the same data in multiple places in the PDF, you need to set the binding of these fields to be Global. But when you choose Global, you may not be able to select the Binding to a data connection option. They are mutually exclusive.
But work around I can think of (unless anyone has a better and neat approach) is to keep the table binding to Global and write script to loop thru the data XML and populate the first table (since it is set to Global, it will automatically populate the second table and so on..)..

Header not getting displayed in the next page in the second table

Dear Experts ,
I have a query regarding Header not getting displayed in the next page in the second table of the main window. .Let me elobrate the issue.
I have a smartform in which there are 2 tables TABLE 1 and TABLE 2 in the smartform MAIN window. TABLE 1 is for pending PO and TABLE 2 is for future delivery date P O separated by text in between.
Now the header for both the tables and the data are getting displayed properly if the total output is in only one page. But If there are more entries in the TABLE 1 the Header for the TABLE 2 is not getting displayed. Header for TABLE 1 yet gets displayed properly in the next page in case of more entries.
Only issue is that Header for TABLE 2 is not getting displayed in second page but it gets displayed if the entries are less in TABLE 1 and the total output is in one page .
Please provide a elobrate solution on this problem as the requirement is urgent.

you need to cteate two pages FIRST and NEXT.
in first page --> FIRST
next --> NEXT
in next page
page---> NEXT
next ---> NEXT.
you copy the first page main window is the same in next page

END-OF-PAGE not displayed in the last page of the classical report.

Hi all..
The END-OF-PAGE is not displayed in the last page of the classical report.
SY-LINCT value is 30.
Lines displayed in the report per page is 24.
[3 for TOP-OF-PAGE and 3 for END-OF-PAGE]
My Internal table has 6942 records.
It comes 289 pages with 24 records in a page and 290 th page with 6 records.
The END-OF-PAGE is not coming for the 290 th page.
Please help.
