Displaying Arabic URL in a JAVA CODED WEB BROWSER

Hello everyone,
Please if there is anyone who can help me with Java Code....I have a java coded web browser, but i would like to enable Arabic .... currently, when arabic is typed into the URL bar, it appears at 'square boxes'...i would like example code on how to remedy that problem, so that when a user enters a url in arabic it displays the correct characters...Also, is there a simple code to check the 'hostname' (basically the name entered in the URL bar) whether or not it is in Arabic or not....

I thought it is possible to treat it like JTextArea where a user
can type in unicode characters....however on IE you can type in arabic (after the keyboard shift CTRL or ALT shift)in the URL bar...however in my little browser you cannot do that....is there anyway to enable that to happen...

oh and for the string check, is there something like :
host.equalsIgnoreCase('to any unicode characters');
i tried it using \u06xx but to no avail....

Fonts displaying in strange characters in Email and Web Browser

Myself and my creative director (on two different computers) are seeing strange characters in our email clients and web browser. He uses Entourage for Email and I use Thunderbird. We both use Firefox for a web browser.
This does not happen with every email or with every web page, what could it be?

Clear out the font cache files from the hard drive with Font Finagler. Also, if you have the fonts Helvetica Fractions or Times Phonetic on the drive, delete them.

Displaying a URL from a Java application

I recently implemented a test Java application based on Steven Spencer's Java Tip 66: "Control browsers from your Java application" (http://www.javaworld.com/javaworld/javatips/jw-javatip66.html). Spencer's example tests for the current operating system, sets some constants based on the OS that it finds, and then calls the Runtime.getRuntime( ).exec( ) method. During the call, you can pass either a file:// or http:// URL. I can get the example to work perfectly given a file:// URL but have limited success supplying the http:// URL. When I supply a specific http:// URL such as "http://someserver/somedir/testfile.htm" the browser returns a "Cannot open URL" error. However, if I supply a URL that does not resolve to a specific HTML file, such as "http://someserver/somedir", and the directory has either a "index.htm" or "index.html" file, the application works fine. I would like to be able to pass an http:// URL that resolves to a specific HTML file. I am trying to implement context-sensitive help from within a Java application. I am testing this on a machine running Windows 2000 and using Microsoft's IE 5.x browser. Any help would be appreciated.

The browser doesn't know that it was started by this Java code, you know. So you are asking why your browser (Internet Explorer) doesn't let you get at specific files. The answer is, that isn't how the Internet works. A URL is a "Uniform Resource Locator" (or something a lot like that). It locates a resource on the Internet. This resource may or may not be a file, but as the client you have no way of knowing whether what you get in response to that is a file on the server or whether it has been generated by some CGI program there.
When you send an http:// URL to a web server, it looks at what you have sent and goes through its configuration files. Using this it translates that URL into either a file on the server (which it returns to you) or a program which it calls to return data to you. If it was a file, its local name on the server doesn't have to be related in any way to the contents of the URL.
It sounds like you are planning to be the one setting up those files on the server, though. If that's the case, you have to configure the server appropriately for your needs.

Displaying Javascript console when PDF embedded in web browser?

How do you debug Acrobat Javascript when running in the browser context (i.e. PDF is embedded in a web page via the object tag)? I can't get the console to display even when the script says console.show(). Is this possible? Given that the browser context allows different features I would say this is a very important feature to have.

Thanks Dimitri. Does it have to be Acrobat rather than Adobe Reader?
I tried this with Adobe Reader open in the background. It doesn't support ctrl + J but I forced it to open the console by:
1) adding debugger.js to my Javascript folder
2) opening a PDF that had some document level Javascript that had console.show();
The console displayed but was not written to by the PDF in the browser.

When i login to my banks online access point a new browser is opened and it takes up the full 27" display. ca i restrict the size of web browser screen used by tme online banking service? imac 27" OSX snow leopard 10.6.8

I logon to bank via its internet portal and next screen takes up all 27" display.
Can this be controlled in any way or do I just put up with it, it is really annoying.

the capacity to set JavaScript Options under the Conent submenu... DISALLOWED all of resizing of windows,
moving of windows and ability of script to hide menu bar ... this fixes the screen to available browser size...

I am having trouble with CSS. Displays right in DW but not in web browser

I am having difficultiy getting my webpage to look the way it does in Dreamweaver in a browers (All 5 of them). My problems are with:
- Title Heading Content
- Sidebar
I have two lines in my heading with the name of the organization. I made two rules. Header H1 and a sub header. For some reason while previewing them in a browser there is a gap between the two words. But in DW there is not. I do not want the gaps. How can I fix it?
In a browser the side bar does not come all the way down. There is a small gap between it and the footer. Like the other problem this does not appear in DW only in the browers.
Any help would be appreciated! I am still learning CSS.

Contact your internet service provider (ISP). Often this is your telephone or cable broadband provider too. If not, there are many free or very low cost remote server hosts around. Do a Google search.
I did do the validator and it told me I was fine. I did not do a CSS one though.
Good. So we know it's not an HTML error. Get the FF Web Developer Toolbar. It permits you to edit CSS in your browser to see how changes effect the layout plus a lot of other cool stuff.

How to launch my java application in a web browser?

Hi. I try to launch my java application, e.g. "HellowWorld.java", using web browser.
1. How can I change my java application program to java applet in general way?
I read "Java: An Introduction to Computer Science and Programming, Third Edition"
by Walter Savitch and found page 803 - "Converting a Swing application to an applet".
My question is how I can know which class should be removed or not such as using JApplet instead of JFrame. Are there general rules about this?
2. I found "AWT only" tutorial had some example lauching application using "AppletButton".
How can I use this method to launch "HelloWorld.class"?

Why does my web browser constantly blink when in a site that uses java?

Pdf in web browser

Yes the pdf is opening in adobe. But I don't want to open a new adobe browser to open.
I want to display in the current web browser where my application is running.
eg. if u are embedding pdf file like this.

It won't open the new window. It displays the result in the current window.
I have my pdf content in byte array. To wirte the above code i need a file. I even writes the byte array to a temporary pdf file. But I can't able to import that file dynamically to the WSAD workspace.
Is there any other way to embed the (byte array)pdf file in the current window.
Please advice me.

Creating a a java Program which Displays a POP UP in a JSF Web Page!

Hi Folks,
I wrote a java program which checks the user credentials against the Active Directory, and if it exists displays a URL (of Web Application) with useri nfo filled automatically in the page deployed on Tomcat ver 6.x.
Now My Problem is just that I have a Pop up in the User Login page which has 3 buttons and according to that the Logic ,Navigation flows. Earlier i was just filling the info directly from Active Directory and Landed into the User Info Page. But now the functionality has changed so I have to modify it. I am not able to find how to Display the Pop up. in that page.
If anybody can help me with that I would be really greatful.

I went to the toolbar on the right, then "javascript", then "Document Java Scripts". That opened a window that had me name the script, then add it, then put in the scripting (see below). I do not know how to "place it in a document-level JavaScript (outside of a function definition) or in the initial page's Page Open event."

The "Submit" button is auto created for me when I choose to distribute the form, I am unaware of any way to move it.

It means what it sais, your J2EE_ADMIN user doesn't have enough authorization.
Chech if the appropriate authorization is assigned in your abap stack which belongs to the java stack you logon to:
Role SAP_J2EE_ADMIN should be assigned to user J2EE_ADMIN.

The method getXLIFFFile( ) gets the relevant XLIFF file for the supplied report locale (if it exists) – the three test files that we used were Italian (example_it_IT.xlf), Spanish (example_es_ES.xlf) and Arabic (example_ar_AE.xlf).
I imported the following JAR files from the XML Publisher release (version 5.6.2) into my Java application: collections.jar, i18nAPI_v3.jar, versioninfo.jar, xdocore.jar and xmlparserv2.jar.
The output is OK for all three translations in HTML format, using a charset of UTF-8, and for Italian and Spanish in PDF format. However, the Arabic characters display as question marks in PDF format. The same issue occurs if I stream the output as a byte array straight to the HTTP response rather than save within a file.
Note that the same RTF, XDT and XLIFF files produce the correct output in both HTML and PDF when executed within XMLPublisher.

I had a similar issue with arabic chars. With PDF layout, chars were appearing properly when preveiwd on local m/c, but as I implement file on server, it was displayed as ?????. I had raised a TAR 5798348.993 with oracle about this and they suggested to apply patch 4028294 Oracle Sourcing J Rollup and then patch 4182914. But later my users changed requirement and i cud not apply the patch to test if it works fine.
But here, you have suggested that installing fonts would do. Is it really that simple? If yes, dont know what is that patch for which I was told to apply.
