Displaying data on a Dynamic page.
Hi,
I know i had asked a similar question before of creating a multiple record form. I was given an
answer that i could create a dynamic page. I am trying to create a dynamic page based on a table
but most of the fields that i will display on the form are non database fields like description
and all. All the fields will be display only.
On the Dynamic page content where we can write the pl/sql code and HTML Code i am under HTML code
creating a table because i need to show the data in the form of grid and inside oracle tag i have
open some cursors and all to get the value for my non database fields.
The problem i am facing is how to pass those values to the HTML table and display on the form.
Please Help.
Thanks,
Amit.

Retrieve data from a dynamic page via loadURL
Hello.
I would like to ask you how it is possible to retrieve data
from a dynamic page (asp classic in my case) using the loadURL
method.
I would like to create an html authentication form (with
username and password fields). The loadURL method should call an
asp page and then pass to the usual function 'DoIfSucceded' the
results of the elaboration.
Of course I'm going to have a switch in the function in order
to make different actions depending from the results of the asp
page (authentication succeded or failed).
I had a look to the examples at this page:
Adobe
samples
Is there anyone who can explain clearly how the results data
must be written by the asp page and how the success function can
retrieve them ?
I thank you in advance for your help.loadURL() uses the the XMLHttpRequest Object so if the
content you return is XML, you have 2 choices for accessing your
data. You can either access it as a text string via the
XMLHttpRequest object's responseText property, or as a DOM document
via the XMLHttpRequest object's responseXML property:
function MySuccessCallback(req)
// If my data is XML, I can access the data that was sent
from the server
// as DOM elements via the XMLHttpRequest's responseXML
property.
var xmlDOM = req.xhRequest.responseXML;
// OR, you can access the data sent back from the server as
text via
// the XMLHttpRequest object's responseText property.
var xmlAsAString = req.xhRequest.responseText;
var req = Spry.Utils.loadURL("GET",
"/app/book.php?id=1&code=54321", true, MySuccessCallback);
If your serverside script wants to use some other format as a
response like JSON or plain text, then you can only access the data
as text via the responseText property.

Not displaying column names in dynamic pages?
I'd like to use a dynamic page as a detail page. In doing this I need a bit more freedom of design than what I now know is possible. Most important - I only need to print out the values returned by the SQL, not the column names as well. And I need to define the colors and fonts of the html table tags surrounding the returned values. How?
It seems a bit strange that I am allowed to change the look and feel of the surrounding page elements through defining my own templates, and then have Oracle define how the elements placed in the templates are to appear.Hi,
It is not possible to change the format the output coming from the <oracle> tags.

How can i display data on tha same page in jsp/servlet
Hello friend,
I am storing 50 items in a dataBase. i ve two buttons/links name previous and next. i ve to display 10 items each time in the same page when i click next button and the revrese for previous. through JSP/Servlet.
Any suggestions will be appreciated.
chintan anandI'm not sure this is the best practice... try to add the item in the arraylist, then when u click next button, add 10 to the counter. subtract if it is a previous button. thats it!
ex..
for(int x=counter;x<=arraylist.lenght();x++)
....print item here......

How to display date and time on page
I have the effective date in the database correctly and it shows the date and timestamp of the transacation but only shows the date on the page. How do I get it to show the date and timestamp on the page.
Hello,
If you are talking about a field on a PS page, I had to do something somewhat similar to what you want and what I ended up doing was adding a datetime field (DATETIME1) on the page and on the page peoplecode (activate) I added this following code: Record.DATETIME1.Value = %Datetime;
The Result: 03/25/2015 1:01:54PM
Hope that helps. -

How to display dynamic page content in an external application (MS Word)?
I have a portal that generates a CV from info stored by various forms. The CV displays fine in a dynamic page, but when I add javascript to launch MS Word with a call to the dynamic page portlet, only the hard coded html displays - nothing between the <ORACLE> tags is loaded.
I had the idea of updating the dynamic page with hard coded html prior to each export - but I can't find where the dynamic page definition is stored in the database.
Any ideas/better solutions out there?dynamic page:
<ORACLE>
DECLARE
theUser varchar2(30) := portal30.COE_GET_CV_PERSON;
v_output varchar2(6) := portal30.COE_GET_CV_OUTPUT;
v_no number;

BEGIN
IF v_output = 'WORD' THEN htp.script('startWord('||''''||v_url||''''||');','Javascript');
ELSE null;
etc ...
javascript:
<script language="JavaScript">
function startWord(strFile)
var myApp = new ActiveXObject("Word.Application");
if (myApp != null)
myApp.Visible = true;

Display data on ADF table using a VO binded to a message.properties file
Hi,
I want to display data in a JSPX page using ADF table which is based on a ViewObject. The attributes of the ViewObject should get it's value from a abc.properties file(static file).How can i achieve this.
thanks in advance.
regards,
Himanshu.Hi Himanshu,
When you create a VO based on static values, all of the records from your VO are generated into the MessageBundel.properties file like this
devguide.entity.ViewObj.SL_0_0=1
devguide.entity.ViewObj.SL_0_1=<val1>
devguide.entity.ViewObj.SL_0_2=<val2>
devguide.entity.ViewObj.SL_1_0=2
devguide.entity.ViewObj.SL_1_1=<val1>
devguide.entity.ViewObj.SL_1_2=<val2>
You could add more lines to the properties files maintaining the same pattern. Also noticed that you can read all the values from a CSV file as well.
The last resource is to programmatically read the file and start creating new rows on the VO, which won't use any of the declarative tools for VOs.

How to display data in table with dynamic rows, section wise in a page.
Hello all,
I work on report creation in BI Publisher where I need to display data from xml in a table in pdf format.The output page is divided into two vertical sections , containing tables, with exactly same columns on left and right sections. The number of rows in table depends on the output of the fetching query. The page is to be populated in such a way that, at first, the left table is populated, then the next rows fill up the table on the right section of the page, if more rows are left, they fill up the tables on next page[first the left table, and then the right one, in a similar fashion as in page 1]
On a bird's eye view, the data needs to be simply mapped to a table, with dynamic number of rows, and so can span number of pages depending on size of data. On a implementation level, I am stuck in getting the left section of the page populated first, then the right section[in place of the right page], and then the next page.
Please guide me if someone has any idea in getting this achieved.
Thanks in advance.Thanks for the response...
I am able to get the desired functionality. I just need the tables to be inside a bigger table, that also has a dividing line between the two columns. This is was is intended in the req. provided to me. The column formatting option provides me a line ,but that is not further modifiable .Please help me in getting a perpendicular line between the two columns, which I need to be of a specified width and color. -

Dynamic Page that calls DB procedure to update data gets PLS222 or PLS306
This seems a bit odd to me: I'm getting either "procedure no in scope" (when I call a procedure with the right args) or "wrong # or type of arguments" (when I call it with the wrong ones, so it is checking the procedure) in a dynamic page.<P>
I'm trying to build a dynamic page that will display data and checkboxes (basically to get around the multi-select limitations -- management has told me that the "fake" md form is not acceptable)<P>
So I build the page, it displays the data just fine exactly as we want it to:<P>
<HTML><FORM><ORACLE>declare
p_mdoc_user portal.wwv_utl_api_types.vc_arr;
p_mdoc_user_seq portal.wwv_utl_api_types.vc_arr;
p_seg_id portal.wwv_utl_api_types.vc_arr;
p_cb portal.wwv_utl_api_types.vc_arr;
p_action varchar2(20):='Save Changes';
begin
htp.p('Select your segments');
htp.p('< p>');
htp.p('<table border=2 cellpadding=2 cellspacing=0>');
htp.tablerowopen;
htp.tableheader('Seg#');
htp.tableheader('Included');
htp.tablerowclose;
for r1 in (select seg_id, build_seg
from web.mdoc_create_seg
where mdoc_user = :mdoc_user
and mdoc_user_seq = :mdoc_user_seq)
loop
htp.p('<input_type="hidden" name="p_mdoc_user" value='||:mdoc_user||'>');
htp.p('<input_type="hidden" name="p_mdoc_user_seq" value='||:mdoc_user_seq||'>');
htp.p('<input_type="hidden" name="p_seg_id" value='||to_char(r1.seg_id)||'>');
htp.p('<tr><td>');
htp.p(r1.seg_id);
htp.p('</td><td>');
if r1.build_seg='TRUE' then
htp.p('<input type="checkbox" name="p_cb" value="Y" checked>');
else
htp.p('<input type="checkbox" name="p_cb" value="Y">');
end if;
htp.p('</td></tr>');
end loop;
htp.p('</table>');
htp.p('< p>');
/*note, this is where I'm putting in a procedure call to update*/
end;
</ORACLE></FORM></HTML><P>
so then I try to add the procedure call (where the sql*plus comment is above)<P>
htp.p('<input type="button" value="Save Changes" onclick='||
mdoc_seg_create_choice_p(
p_mdoc_user,
p_mdoc_user_seq,
p_seg_id,
p_cb)
||'>');<P>
When I try to run as portlet, I get pls 222 not in scope. <but>
When I take a value out (say remove the last ",p_cb") - I get pls 306 wrong number or type of args to call.<P>
I've granted the procedure and its underlying tables to portal/public/and portal_public, even though I'm building the dynamic page under a DB provider that is the same as the schema I wrote the procedure in.<P>
I've tried specifying the schema, using a public synonym, and putting it in a package: same thing occurs, either I get pls 00222 not in scope when I call it with the right columns, or if I purposefully leave one out I get PLS 00306 wrong # or type of args.<P>
Any ideas?

Refreshing query data for Dynamic Page Generator
Can anyone tell me why I must exit out of XMII and re-login in order to have any updates saved in either a Data Query or Display Query show up when I use the Dynamic Page Generator.
I attended the Xmii beginner level training. In the training, I could hold the Ctrl key and click the Refresh button on my browser to update the templates.
Thanks
MikeMike,
The reason for this was that the machines that were used in training had Java SDK 1.5 installed if you are using 1.4 you cannot hold down the ctrl key to refresh the cache you must go into Tools -> Sun Java Console -> click the "X" key and that will clear the cache.
