Displaying part of one webpage on another webpage on iWeb '09 website

Is it possible to display part of your site on another part of your site? I'm thinking beyond just a hyperlink and most so an exact resemblance, almost like a mirror. Please let me know if this is possible.

If you want to have a page display within the body of another page you can do so using the HTML Widget of iWeb and the iframe tag.
Within the tag you put the web address of the page you want to see.
For example:
__<iframe src ="http://web.me.com/YourMemberName/Site/Movie.html" width="100%" height="300"></iframe>
This will display the contents of the web address you put in.

  • How can I move part of one photo into another photo?

In older versions of Photoshop you could see two or more frames in the work area and cut an paste parts of one photo into another photo by using the "move" tool after the area to be moved was selected. I am having trouble discerning how to achieve this action in CC. Could someone in the forum with this experience give me some steps to take to complete this process? Thanks.

  • How do I copy a GarageBand for iPad part from one song to another?

Surely this must be an obvious thing, but I see no way to do it.
I am working on 2 versions of song on my iPad. I want to copy a part from one song to the other.
I know I can duplicate the entire song, but that is not the same.
I really need help on this one and I'll be most disappointed if it's a basic feature Apple have not provided - I'm writing a soundtrack and at the moment and bought the app and to some extent the iPad especially to write on the road, but this will mean we have to abandon GarageBand for iPad entirely if its not possible.
The other secondary question is why can't you copy parts (using Sonoma copy/paste or similar) OUT of GarageBand into other apps? Another basic function Apple should not have skimped on. This is necessary to, say, apply an effect externally and bring it back to GarageBand for mixdown. I'll raise this separately too.
    Thanks!

Hi  Here is a guide I wrote about bouncing tracks in GarageBand for iPad.  You could use the methods in here to bounce the track you want to open in another app in to Hokusai , into your other app, and then back into GarageBand.  I hope this helps!   Cheers

  • Display jsff from one application on another?

I have a jsf page and I want to display a jsff page as a region on the jsf page, but the jsff is part of another application that's on the same server. I was wondering what the best way to do this would be.
I was thinking of calling a remote taskflow, but I also read that remote taskflows can't be loaded in regions. Is this true?
I have also looked into portlets but don't know much about using them.
I also was think about using an inline frame on the page, but I feel if I do that the user will be able to navigate the other application through the inline frame and I don't want that.
If anyone has a good suggestion on how to display just one jsff from a separate application, on my jsf page in my application on the same server as the separate application, I would love to hear what you have to say.

    Hi.
Your Task Flow should be exposed in ADF JAR Libraries instead of a regular JAR Libraries because first one stores relevant ADF metadata.
Answering your question of how to add cuistom Bounded Task Flow (regions) follow next steps:
    In WebCenter Portal:
    1) In case of create the Bounded Task Flow based on page fragments in a separate project:
    - Create an ADF JAR Library and add it to your Portal classpath.
    - Add your ADF Task Flow just Drag & Drop to your page/catalog or wherever you want.
    - Open jazn-data.xml to map permissions to your task flow. By default users can't see the Task Flow.
    2) In case of create the Bounded Task Flow inside of your Portal Project:
    - Just assign correct permissions in jazn-data.xml
    In WebCenter Spaces:
    - Deploy your ADF Jar Library using WebCenter Spaces Design project as shared-lib.
    - Add to a Resource Catalog your Task Flow read from your library.
    - Add through Composer the library to a page.
    More information:
    - Exists a lot of ways (classpath, shared-lib...) to deploy your ADF Jar Libraries and expose it in WebCenter Portal and Spaces. Previous steps are only samples.
    - Searching in this forum you'll find a lot information related to your issue.

  • Displaying chart from one vi in another

Hello. I have two vi's that each output a voltage vs temperature plot in real time as the data is generated. I made another vi that includes both of them and would like to have those plots displayed there instead. How do I do that? I tried making a connection from voltage vs temp graph to the two vi's' thumbnails and then connecting that to an empty voltage vs temp plot in the vi that I'm working on, but it got confused and said the connection doesn't know which way it's going.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

I was gonna go get the code, but I'm locked out of my lab because the stoopid electronic lock is broken again and noone with an actual key is on campus to let me in -___- *headdoor* ... uuuuuuuurgh, this is so frustrating ......
The source VIs work like this. Temperature is varied between 300K and ~2.6K in some increments and every time it changes, the first source VI records voltage across the first sample and temperature and plots them against each other. The second source VI does the exact same thing, but for the second sample. (They're separate because one uses Keithley 6220 and the other Keitheley 2400. I guess I could've written them differently but I was working with the code that was already there before me and just didn't think about it...)
The main VI that I'm trying to get working just combines the two and lets the user pick whether to do a run on the first or second sample or both at the same time, and whether it's a cooling run (300-2.6), warming (2.6-300) or both back-to-back. So if the user picks to do a cooling run on the first sample, the VI will call the first source VI every time the temperature drops and the source VI will add a new point to the array and plot it, but because that plot isn't in the main VI, we don't see it.  I would like for plots from both source VIs to be visible in the main.
Sorry if this doesn't make sense and/or if it's a back asswards way of doing it +.+ ... I'm new to this >.> ...
I'll get the screen shots monday when someone is actually there to let me into the  friggin lab *sigh* ...

  • Swapping Parts from One iMac to Another

I have a 17" flat panel iMac with the articulating arm (800MHz/1024MB/80HD) with a Super Drive. I purchased it a little over three years ago with an extended Apple Care package that expired in August 2005, after which both the articulating neck device went bad (the panel won't stay into position, so I prop it up with something), and just a few days ago, the computer crashed altogether (black screen, won't boot up).
I took it to the local Apple store and had it chedked out at the ""Genius Bar," and was told that the problem appears to be a defective "logic board." The technician said he couldn't confirm that was the problem until I paid to have it fixed, but he said he was reasonably sure it was the logic board. The cost to fix the logic board is $800, assuming that is the problem.
The cost to fix the articulating arm is another $800, which I found out a couple of months ago when it first failed.
So, here I am with a three-year-old iMac that I originally paid $2,200 for, that is loaded up with software such as Pagemaker 7.0, and I'm faced with $1,600 in repairs to make it right. My problem is two-fold. A) I don't want to spend $1,600 to restore the computer, and B) I have a lot of data that I hadn't backed up that I need to retrieve.
I am a long-time PC user and only purchased this iMac because my son-in-law, an avid Mac Fanatic, insisted I would get better results (I publish a magazine and maintain a website, among other things) and no crashes (not true, less crashes than PC but still craches). But now I have a fortune in Apple/OS software and tons of files that I need to access in this iMac. So here are my questions:
    A) Can I purchase a similar model for a few hundred dollars on eBay and swap the hard drive from my iMac into the purchased one? This would solve both problems (bad logic board and defective articulating arm);
    Or
    B) Can I purchase a similar model on eBay and swap the logic board from the purchased iMac with my defective iMac (which would give me access to my software and data files in my existing iMac, but would not fix the articulating arm problem). If this is doable, could I also switch the articulating arm? What about the Super Drive, if the unit comes with a Combo Drive?
    C) Are these parts easily snapped in and out as is the case with PCs? Or is this type of work beyond the capabilities of a layman like myself?
    D) If any of these solutions are feasible, do I have to buy a used iMac EXACTLY configured the same as mine (800MGz/1024MB/80HO/Super Drive)? Or will the hardware from my iMac work in any of the flat panel articulating arm iMacs. Also, will I be able to plug the RAM from my iMac into a lesser configured iMac?
If anyone can shed light on any of these issues, I'd greatly appreaciate it. Many thanks in advance.

    Anchorasaweigh,
    Welcome to Apple Discussions.
The iMac_flatpanel.pdf link on Apple Macintosh Computer Repair Resources will support Barbara's messy assertion regarding the intricacy of disassembling/reassembling the hardware.
    A) If you go this route, why go through the disassembly process? You may end up with two unusable computers. Just use the replacement.
    B) I would have the same objection to this alternative.
    C) As you can see from the link that I provided, the answer in my opinion would be an emphatic NO. I would cringe with fear, if I had attempt this repair.
    D) I cant come close to answering this question, but if you are interested in an opinion, I believe that there will be some, but few acceptable differences.
The tone of your missive indicates that you do not want to hear about other options, but I would avoid the cannibalization process that you are contemplating. It will be risky and fraught with pitfalls. If your son-in-law has any remaining credibility, and you wish to continue with the Mac OS, I would recommend that you consider a Refurbished iMac G5 1.8GHz/ 256MB/ 160GB/ SuperDrive/ 56K/ 20-inch, which when I made this link could be obtained for $1,149.00. I purchased an iMac DV SE through Apple Certified Refurbished Products in 2000 and have been totally satisfied with the reliability.
Whatever you decide, I believe that you should be able to recover your data through Firewire Target Disk Mode.
    Good Luck,
    Go Navy.

  • How do I insert part of one image into another in Elements 8?

I am testing Elements 8 and would like to, for example, take an eagle from one image and insert it into another.  I've done this with other editing programs, but can't see how to do it here.  If one is to use layers, then I have another problem.  How does one open layers from more than one image in the palettes?

You can only view the layers of one image at a time. I believe E8's default setting is a maximized setting which allows for only one image in the workspace. If you change the setting in the menu to Cascade, you can have several images open in your workspace. I believe, that's under Window<Arrange.  The layer's palette will display whichever image is currently selected.
There are several ways to do it. Here are a couple...
    Copy/Paste...
One way is to select the eagle with a selection tool...magnetic lasso whatever...then copy the eagle into your clipboard. Edit<copy. (Shortcut = Ctrl + C on PC; Cmd + C on Mac).
Open the second image then paste. (Shortcut = on PC Ctrl + V; on Mac Cmd + V). This will add the eagle to the current image. Use the move tool to position the eagle.
    Drag/Drop...
Alternately, change window<Arrange in the menu bar to Cascade. This will allow you to have more than one image in your workspace.
Open both images. Select eagle with a selection tool. Once selected, switch to the move tool. Drag eagle into second image.
Alternately, you could also lift the eagle to it's own layer then drag it over using the move tool. Release the mouse button when you are over the second image to drop the eagle. (Shortcut to lift selected eagle from the background to it's own layer = on PC Ctrl + J; on Mac = Cmd + J.)
Note: Both images should be the same or close to same resolution. The image that is dragged will adjust (resize) to match the background image resolution. (Low resolution images dragged into high resolution images are tiny whereas high resolution images dragged into low resolution images would be huge).

  • How can I 'cut and paste' a part of one image to another?

I have this program the creates great syfi looking planets and some other cool stuff. I creates them
on a solid black background. I'm hoping there is a way to cut out just that planet and paste it onto
the sky of another picture. I don't want the black background just the planet. I can go in and make
the edges look nice after it's done. But I don't know how to do it :-(
    Thank You.

    1. use the selection tool(s) of your choice to select the planet. It helps to give the selection a one or two pixel feather to avoid a cutout look (Select>Feather).
    2. Copy it (ctrl+C in windows, command+C on a mac)
    3. Paste it (ctrl+v in windows, command+v on a mac)
You will get better results if both images have the same ppi before you start (image>resize>image size. If you need to make a change for one image, make sure Resample Image is OFF.) You can use the Move tool to arrange/resize the object once it's in the destination photo.

it tells how to show the view from other dc in surrounding dc.
you just have to customize a little bit, in your case, you display the view directly.
in the doc, it is using navigation.

  • How do I overlay part of one video onto another one?

Maybe a simple question, but I can't find the answer after a couple hours of searching:
I have a time lapse video of a sunrise and a real time video of a plane landing.  I'd like to put the "real speed" airplane into the time lapse background (the shots are identical location) using Final Cut Pro X.
I thought an effects mask was the key, but it seems like i'm unable to track the movement of the plane by using keyframes.  Is this something I have to do in Motion?
    Any help is much appreciated.
    Thanks.

Just in case anyone reading this is not too sure about keyframing, take a look at this excellent video tutorial that shows just how simple it is.
Also check out his other tutorials.
I have only one gripe about them. He writes down the instructions onscreen instead of speaking them and I find it impossible to read and watch mouse-movements simultaneously, so I have to keep pausing the video.

If you have got Firefox with the DownloadHelper plugin you can download them in anything up to 1080p.

  • Can you expose parts of one layer over another?

I'm trying to have an image in the background of a number in the foreground. The only option I have discovered is the 'move backward' and 'move forward' commands, but of course it only displays either image up to the image frame.  Is there away to have the underlying image (grape vine) run underneath the number 2 (I want to color the number but have the vine running up to the edge of the number and begin again on the other side of the number, if that makes sense)?  Thank you.  Dan

Instead of the post above , try the following:
    1.  Turn off the visibilty or the background layer
(click the eye beside the layer in the layers panel)
(see the white around the "2")
    2.  Select the magic wand tool and click outside the number "2"
(this selects the white area outside the number 2)
    3. Press the Delete key (deletes the white around the number 2)
    4. Ctrl+D deselect
    5. Turn the visibility back on for the background layer.
    6. Color the number 2 to taste.

  • Display region after one process has run

I am using htmldb2.0 and I want to display regions after one process in another region of the same page has run. There is type named as "when process in comma delimited list of Process IDs has run" in condition type of region edit. I tried it with putting my process name(also followed with comma) in expression 1 text area but it doesn't work. I am wondering if this doesn't work, how can I implement it in my application.
    Thanks in advance,
    Ke Lin

    I do not get but....
If one process on page start...then page is not rerenderd until it is finished. If process if finished page is submited and then on refresh page process is not running.
So I do not understand how can two process be started on the same process together?
If this si so maye this could be the solution....
could you create autonomous transaction (it commits their data regarding transaction that it participate in!) to make some parameter in table to 1.
When other process starts it checks this value and if this param is 1 then it should not continue.
    P.S.
Do not forget to put another autonomous transaction procedure which will set param to "0" after process finish.
Do this main proc with strong exception handling to ensure that param is allways set to 0.

  • How do I convert my GUI java app to be an applet or display it on a webpage

I have created a loan calculator program in netbeans, I got the application to run fine but now I want to add it into a html page.
I'm just looking for a place to start, I just don't know where to go from here, I want to know if I can actually convert my app with a few changes to an applet or if any one can point me to a forum of similar interest or tutorials that explain what I'm looking for.
I don't even know what i'm looking for except i want this program to run on a webpage.
Or is there a way to run my .jar file on a webpage??
My teacher has not taught us anything on this matter except the below code suggestions on converting and my program is more extensive than her examples for converting. This is what she briefly described on this subject.
    1.To convert an application to an applet the main differences are: import java.awt.Graphics; import javax.swing.JApplet; import javax.swing.JOptionPane;
Extend JApplet Replace main with public void init() method
Output with public void paint( Graphics g ) method
    2. Remove calls to setSize, setTitle, pack, and any window listener calls, e.g., setDefaultCloseOperation. Compile the program---if something doesn't compile just comment it out for now.
    3. Create a simple web page with the following body.
    <applet CODE="__________.class" WIDTH="300" HEIGHT="300"
    archive="http://www.cs.duke.edu/courses/fall01/cps108/resources/joggle.jar">

Your original program extends "GUI" which appears to extend JFrame (correct me if I'm wrong). If so, the first thing you should do would be to re-write this so that it extends JPanel which shouldn't be that hard to do (at least it's not hard to do if you know a little Swing -- but I worry about someone coming into this from the netbeans-generated code world). Purists will tell you to not even extend this, to have your main GUI class hold an instance of JPanel instead, and this would work fine too, as long as one way or another, the main GUI program can produce your application displayed on a JPanel on demand.
If you've done this correctly, then using your JPanel in a JFrame is trivial: in a main method create a JFrame, and then simply add your JPanel to the JFrame's contentPane and display it. Likewise using your JPanel in a JApplet is just as trivial as you'd do essentially the same thing: add your JPanel to the JApplet's contentPane, but this time do it in the JApplet's init method.
