  • Help needed on listing out all tag names using XML Rules in ExtendScript(InDesign)

    Given a document with elements already in place, I am looking for a snippet of code to walk down the XML tree only two levels
    deep to printout the names of each of the tags (not attributes).  I am just using javascript in extendscipt to accomplish this.  Ultimately,
    I want to provide this list in a checkbox dialog and use those checked items to develop a TOC.  This latter part, I have in place.
    It is just the pushing of the tag element names into an array that seems to be cumbersome for me at this point.
    Any shortcut snippets out there that someone can provide?
    A shorter version of this request....Is there anyway to just list out all element.markupTag.name of an XML tree, not knowing the xpath naming?
    Using "//*" obviously is not working....

    well..
    Document.xmlTags.everyItem().name will get you a array of all the xml tags in the document. Maby that will help you?
    another way, and you can use it recursively:
    myObject.xmlElements.everyItem().markupTag.name
    will get you an array of tag names. use something like: http://stackoverflow.com/a/15806501 to remove duplicates.. and.. enjoy

  • How to add b tags in your XML when changing style to Bold

    I'm currently checking if there is an easier way to automatically add <b> tags when changing font style to Bold in your xml. I'm not sure how to override the format  of a structured application automatically in FM. Do I need to create a script for this? Or is there any configuration that can be made to make this work automatically?

    Most of the discussion on this thread has dealt with the relevance of the Bold button on FrameMaker's Text Formatting toolbar to structured documents.
    While someone made the suggestion to create a <b> element and then insert text within the new element, I don't think anyone has yet commented on how easy it is to wrap an element (<b> or another element) around existing content. You can do so with the Element Catalog. Simply select the content to be wrapped and double-click the tag of the new element (e.g., b) in the Element Catalog. Or click the tag in the Element Catalog and then the Wrap button at the bottom of the Catalog.
    If you prefer to use the keyboard, you can use what is called Smart Insert in FM 11 and quick keys in earlier versions. The first three buttons at the bottom of the Element Catalog window are Insert, Wrap, and Change. You don't need to have the Catalog open to use Smart Insert. I mentioned the buttons only because that order is pretty easy to remember--1. Insert, 2. Wrap, 3. Change. The keyboard shortcuts Ctrl-1, Ctrl-2, and Ctrl-3 bring up the Smart Insert or Quick Keys to Insert, Wrap, or Change an element. With Smart Insert, a pop-up menu appears that shows the available elements. You can use the up and down arrow keys to navigate to the one you want, or type a unique prefix. Then press Enter to perform the operation (or Esc to cancel). With Quick Keys, the left side of the status bar at the bottom of the document window or Structure View (whichever is current) will prompt for the element tag with I: for Insert, W: for Wrap or C: for Change. Again, use the arrow keys or a prefix to display the desired element tag and then press Enter.
    So, to create a new <b> element to hold an existing string, select the string, type Ctrl-2 b, and press Enter.
    That said, I will close with an observation on the use of format overrides in structured documents. While automatic formatting based on element structure is the heart of structured FM, the software was deliberately designed in recognition that as a practical matter it is sometimes necessary for an author to create formatting that the document's element definitions simply do not provide. It therefore allows the user to tweak the formatting (for example, by deliberating making some content bold without using the element structure to do so). Users should understand the difference between element-based formatting and format overrides and use the latter with care if at all.

    </Company>hope to add namespaces before the tagname such as Company, Location and even any attributes such as dept, nationality etc in this xml,
    I try but fail.

    You would have to write code that does that, then. Right now your code writes that part of your XML as elements that aren't in a namespace. I can tell you know there are different methods to write elements that are in a namespace because you used a different method to try to write an attribute that is in a namespace.

  • Case sensitive Tag names

    Hi friends
    I have  a question, is it  possible to transfer case sensitive tag names into xml structure ?  for exemple, I want to transfer    Tag name "DateCreated" .  I did a test but  start tag names is "DataCreated" and it is  Translated  in "DATACREATED" and this is a problem.
    Thanks
    Sergio

    Sergio,
    Usually what ever you have given in your xsd or message type you will have the same. So please check it. I just tested this and it seems to be the same as defined in your xsd or message type.

  • Function Xpath BPEL that capture tags in a XML.

    Hi,
    Please, Could anyone help me please
    I need to know what is the function (BPEL) that can capture what is between the tags.
    For Example.
    I created a simple BPEL Async, which receives an XML containing in payload:
    <inputVariable>
    <part name="payload">
    *<ns1:ZFXI_GPS001>*
    <ns1:ID_EXEC>1</ns1:ID_EXEC>
    <ns1:ID_LOTE>2</ns1:ID_LOTE>
    <ns1:DADOS>
    <ns1:item>
    <ns1:BUKRS>teste</ns1:BUKRS>
    <ns1:BUTXT>teste</ns1:BUTXT>
    </ns1:item>
    </ns1:DADOS>
    </ns1:ZFXI_GPS001>
    </part>
    </inputVariable>
    I need to know what is the XPath function that captures what's between the tags and not what is contained therein. In the example above I need to capture the Tag *<ZFXI_GPS001>*, in other words I want to capture the name "*ZFXI_GPS001*".
    If anyone knows how to do this, please help me.
    Tks

    Hi ,
    You can use either of the two methods:
    1. If you know the hierarchy of the XML and know the position of occuring of the XML tag , you can use count and read the Tag.
    2. If you know the Tag names , convert XML to XMLString and then using substring function find the tag required by you.
    Hope this helps you !!

    Hi,
    You should be able to edit the generated wsdl as you suggested, changing the
    "return" to something else. Then save the wsdl to a file, say
    "filename.wsdl", and then at the top of your jws add the following:
    * @jws:wsdl file="filename.wsdl"
    This will force the jws to use the wsdl you specify and you won't have to
    edit any maps. Of course, as your jws changes, you will need to regenerate
    the wsdl and change the "return" to something else.

    I have created a webservice in workshop that has some methods what returnstring-data.
    Now I want to create clients with different software-products. Because Igot some
    errors with one of these products, I looked into the WSDL and noticed thatthe
    name of the response-datatype is 'return' (by default).
    You can see this here:
    - <s:element name="addUserResponse">
    - <s:complexType>
    - <s:sequence>
    <s:element minOccurs="1" maxOccurs="1" name="return" nillable="true"type="s:string"
    />
    This 'return' is interpreted as a keyword in the client-generation tool.If I
    change this manually to another word then it works.
    When I try to change the 'Return XML' in the 'Edit Maps and Interface'Dialog,
    than the WSDL looks like this:
    - <s:element name="addUserResponse">
    - <s:complexType mixed="true">
    - <s:sequence>
    <s:any minOccurs="1" maxOccurs="unbounded" />
    Now the name- and type-definitions are completely missing.
    The question is now: how to change the name of the response-datatype from'return'
    to another (not-keyword-) name?
    I think this is important because I don't know what software a customeruses to
    generate a client and I can not expect that he manually edits myWSDL-file.

  • XML Tag Name too long, won't run from a procedure

    I have a select statement that creates an xml file using the xmlelement syntax. When I run the select statement on its own it runs fine and the xml file is generated with no errors. I'm building a procedure that does a bunch of stuff, with the end product being the generated xml file. Everything in the procedure works great, until I add the xmlelement select statement. When I try to compile it I get an error message that one of the identifiers is too long (it is 40 characters). Is there something special I need to do to get this to run within a procedure with the given tag names? I can't change the names as they are set by another department.
    Thanks.

    Sorry about that, Mondays are painful...
    I'm not sure if you want the whole procedure, it is quite long, but here is the xml part. I am using TOAD, and when I right click and Compile I receive this error: PLS-00114: identifier 'PostalCodeOfPatientsCurrentResidenceKnownFlag FROM Admissions' too long
    The part that confuses me is why does it run fine when I run it on it's own, I get the expected XML file, but when I try to run it from a procedure it fails.

  • How can I change the tag name in cursor statement?

    Hi
    I have two tables: TableA and TableB. I want generate a XML file using XSU12 from these two tables, the XML structure like:
    <ROWSETA>
    <ROWA num="1">
    <A1></A1>
    <A2></A2>
    <A3>
    <A3_ROW num="1">
    <B1></B1>
    <B2></B2>
    </A3_ROW>
    <A3_ROW num="2">
    <B1></B1>
    <B2></B2>
    </A3_ROW>
    </A3>
    </ROWA>
    </ROWSETA>
    How can I change the tag name and attribute for "A3_ROW"?
    Thanks in advance!
    null

    In short, you can't.
    You can use the column alias as you're already doing to change the name of the "A3" part of "A3_ROW" but you cannot change the "_ROW" part of "A3_ROW". This is added automatically.
    You can combine the results of XSU with an XSLT stylesheet (made very simple if you're using XSU by working with Oracle XSQL Pages) to change the name of any element or completely restructure the XML output into a target XML, HTML, or text format.

  • When I start Firefox, I get this alert message "[JavaScript Application] XML tag name mismatch (expected META)". What is this message?

    My firefox updated today automatically, and then when it started up, it displayed this alert message:
    "[JavaScript Application] XML tag name mismatch (expected META)"
    I can press OK and my browser then works just fine and I can go to websites and what-not. I have not run across any problems or anything. I am just wondering what this alert message means and if I should fix it?
    I tried closing the browser and pulling it back up, and the same message was displayed. Also, if I open a new window the same message is displayed. But it is only displayed right when I open the browser, and does not show up anytime while using the browser.

    If you click the Home button from another page, does the error repeat? If so, what is your home page?
    When Firefox starts, it fires up a lot of add-ons. A standard diagnostic for add-on issues is to try Firefox's Safe Mode.
    First, I recommend backing up your Firefox settings in case something goes wrong. See [[Backing up your information]]. (You can copy your entire Firefox profile folder somewhere outside of the Mozilla folder.)
    Next, restart Firefox in Firefox's Safe Mode ([[Safe Mode]]) using
    Help > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
    In the Safe Mode dialog, do not check any boxes, just click "Continue in Safe Mode."
    Do you still get the message? If not, one of your add-ons might not be fully compatible with Firefox 14 or might need an update.

  • Change signature tag name ds:Signature to Authsignature

    Hello,
    I need to change the XML signature tag name from : *<ds:Signature> to <Authsignature>*
    <ds:Signature> to <Authsignature>using code like :
    XMLSignatureFactory fac = XMLSignatureFactory.getInstance("DOM");

    SignedInfo si = fac.newSignedInfo ...

    XMLSignature signature = fac.newXMLSignature(si, null);
    signature.sign(dsc);
    And validate it after.
    using code like :

    XMLSignature xmlSignature = xmlSignatureFactory.unmarshalXMLSignature(domValidateContext);
    boolean ok = xmlSignature.validate(domValidateContext);How i can do it ?
    Anyway, thanks in advance for your help.

    hi smullan,
    I need to change it because i work with german norm (protocol) and the name of authentification and identification signature of XML file is *<AuthSignature>* and it is mandatory
    am I really stucked as I feared??
    sorry to bother you again, I ve got one last question
    I can see in the xmldsig norm that the signature of a file is applied only
    to the content of the <signedinfo> tag
    So, given the <authsignature> tag is not included in the signed part of the
    file, logically I could change the <authsignature> tag in <signature>
    without corrupting my signed file could nt I??
    It seems like I m in a dead end, but maybe there's a solution right
    in front of me that I could nt see?? I wish!
    Anyway, thanks in advance for your help.

  • Generate XML with tag names generated dynamically.

    Hi Mark,
    I want to generate xml in the following way using SQLXoperators.
    But only problem is when i use the operator, the tag name should be supplied before in hand as parameter.
    So it works well when the data for the tags are stored in seperate columns then its pretty simple.
    But lets say the whole hierarchy of the nodes is stored in one table with ID-->PARENTID relationship and the text is stored in a column called description.
    Now using CONNECT BY PRIOR i get the hierarchy and now based on the description value i have to generate the tags and then fill in the other details.
    This is just a summary of what i want. the below sample has much more than that and actual data comes from more than one table.
    But if i get the solution for what i asked before i think i can build the test of the thing.

    In 10g there are other SQL statements besides connect by prior for parent child relationships.
    such as:
    CONNECT_BY_ROOT—returns the root of the hierarchy for the current row; this greatly simplifies our query. (See below for an example).
    CONNECT_BY_ISLEAF—is a flag to tell you if the current row has child rows.
    CONNECT_BY_ISCYCLE—is a flag to tell you if the current row is the beginning of an infinite loop in your hierarchy. For example, if A is the parent of B, B is the parent of C, and C is the parent of A, you would have an infinite loop. You can use this flag to see which row or rows are the beginning of an infinite loop in your data.
    NOCYCLE—lets the CONNECT BY query recognize that an infinite loop is occurring and stop without error (instead of returning a CONNECT BY loop error).

    Is this the right way to parse this type of XML?

    The answer would depend upon your version of Oracle
    select * from v$version
    and the desired result set you want to see.
    If you are 10.2 or later, than XMLTable would be easier to write, but I won't go that way until we know more about what you want to see.
