Distribute Form Grayed Out

I am using Livecycle Designer ES4 and I opened a form that someone else had designed and made edits and Saved it as my own. When I attempt to distribute the form, the distribute form is grayed out. If I send my form back to the original author and he opens it, he is able to distribute. How can we change ownership of an edited form so that I may distribute it?

Hi,
you'll need Acrobat installed parallel to Designer.
The menu item in Designer just opens Acrobat an executes its Distribute function.

  • Issues with LiveCycle ES4 - "Distribute Form" greyed out and "email button" not functioning

    Bought this software on 8/1/13.
Designed my first form, "saved to repository" and proceeded to test. The email function for whatever reason does not work. Went back and examined the properties to the button, I have it set up correctly. In fact the XMS format works perfect, but I want the form to come via PDF when emailed. This feature is not coming through on email.
I am not sure if the above two issues are related however I did read that in the stand-alone software, the "distribute form" is not offerred which I wonder if this the reason it is greyed out.
Can anyone help me work through the "email button" issue?

If the PDF submits to a server-side script URL it can bypass client-side email software.
Try the online PDF submission examples and see if it works for you in Mozilla FireFox:
    http://www.pdfemail.net/examples/
You should also make sure the browser is using the Adobe Reader plugin as the default PDF reader.

  • Web ADI Create Document - Short Cut Save to Form  Function Grayed Out

How do I "ungray" Save to Form Function to allow a save?
    RDBMS 10.2.0.4.0
    Apps 11.5.10.2
    Only GL and Desktop ADI
Oracle on Demand Customer - does not give us SysAdmin Responsiblities
    We have:
Applicatin Adiministrator does not have Application> Funcitons
Application Developer has Application>Forms and Function
Setup Web ADI super user menu with Create Documents, Define Layout, Define Mapping, Manage Documents
Setup options and "Hidden" Enter Journals

I still have no response or answers
Refer the section "Creating Form Functions Using the Create Document Page Flow" in Oracle Web Applications Desktop Integrator Implementation and Administration Guide. User to have system administrator responsibility assigned to have this feature enabled as this is a SysAdmin task.
THE BIG QUESTION - since "Oracle on Demand" will not allow their users to have System Administrator, how can I add the required functionality to the supplied Application Administrator and resolve the questions below?
    Problem Description:
Web ADI – Create Document, Save to Form Function is grayed out, therefore it can not be used
    1. How do we enable Web ADI functionality to Create document and Save to Form Function?
    2. Once saved to form function how to we navigate to Application>Functions?
    3. Once the Short cut is saved to the Form Function, how do we attach to a user’s responsibility?
We have only Application Administrator with no Applications> Functions menu, however we do have in our test instance Application Developer with Applications>Forms and Functions, but it does not appear to have the same rights as SysAdmin. I tried adding the menu functions simular to SysAdmin to Application Administrator but no luck unlocking (ungraying) the form.

  • Getting buttons to gray out in forms

I'm creating a form in Acrobat Professional 8.0. I'm setting up certain fields with hide/show field actions so that answering the question enables or disables the form fields on other questions.
My question is this: when I do that, form fields that are disabled disappear completely. Is there any way to keep them visible but disabled, possibly grayed out? Thanks!

    Hi Prabha,
Just open the program in screen painter and check the table properties.
If you find any values in GROUP1/GROUP2/GROUP3/GROUP4, you can use them fto gray out the table.
But please make sure that the group id is assigned only to that table.
    Thanks

  • Org Code grayed out and defaulted in Shipping Trx form

    Hi
My company is having an Oracle apps system already working in place, with operating unit OU1 and inventory org IO1. Recently we are trying to include some more sites IO2, which are in different operating unit OU2 altogather. I completed all setups for new orgs.
Afterwards, when i logged into my system using old operating unit's OU1 responsibilities, i tried to do some search in shipping transactions form. But surprisingly, the Org Code field is now prepopulated with new inventory org name IO2 and is grayed out, so i cane even modify it. Now I cannt do any search in old org IO1.
Can anyone please tell me why it is so? and how to remove this, so that org code is blank on new forms?
    Any help is appreciated.
    Regards
    Varun

    Hi Luko
Thanks a Lot for your help.
We are using custom roles so cannt assign myself roles mentioned by you. But I end-dated my current role and defined a new one, where I left Org field Blank. Now I am able to access the shipping trx form and the field is also available for data entry - exactly what I wanted. :)

  • Forms -- Run Auto Field Detection Grayed Out

After using Adobe Acrobat Pro 8 successfully for 2 1/2 years I have run into a problem: all of a sudden I cannot create forms from already created PDF files.
My last form was in March, but now the " Run Auto Field Detection" is grayed out.
What should I do to correct this problem ? For our business this is important and the time difference is 1-2 hours versus 3-5 minutes.

  • How to use distribute form?

I know this has probably been answered a hundred times in these forums, but my searching has not turned up any answer that is useful to me as yet, so I will try posing the question anew.
I am using Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro  version 9.1.2
I have created a test that I want people to fill in and return the results to me.  I would like to use the tracker, because it seems that would allow me to see who has taken the test or not.  However, I really do not get how this is supposed to work.
I have a button embedded at the bottom of the form.  The action on the button is mouse up submit a form.  The URL is mailto:[email protected] which is my email address.  I have FDF selected.  When I select Distribute form, the only selections I get are "manually collect responses in my email inbox" or "automatically collect responses on my own internal server".  The form I am trying to distribute is on a network drive.  Because I put my email address in on the submit button, I choose the manually collect selection.  I send it out under Adobe, and I do get responses back in my inbox.  We use Microsoft Outlook as our mail client.  Tracker never seems to acknowledge that anything has been sent nor that anyone has responded however.  I did see that tracker only checks once an hour, so I waited, and still nothing.
I also tried to save it on a network drive.  The online help indicates that you should be able to save to \\server\folder\ which I tried, but when I click on the link to submit, I get an invalid URL message.  This is on the submit button.  I put in \\server\folder\ (I use the actual server name and the folder\subfolders by the way), as directed in the documentation but the action prepends my server and folder name with http:// which results in http://\\server\folder\ which is invalid of course.  The drive I am attempting to save to is not on a LAN.  It is on a WAN, but all of the clients have read/write access to the drive.  It is our "common" drive that we use for sharing data on the network.  Windows copy function work fine for all users.
I did find some documentation indicating that I could submit to Adobe.com, but that option is not available to me for some reason when I select distribute forms.  Only email or network drive.  I do not seem to be able to get either to work to be able to pick up the returned forms under Tracker.  It appears that my only option is to have the forms returned to me as an email, and then keep a manual list of who replys in a spreadsheet or something.
Has anyone ever had any luck getting tracker to work for forms, and if so, what is your secret?

Sorry I won't be a lot of help on this particular subject.
But what I can tell you is to be patient. The thread you are referring to certainly didn't get that many views and responces in two hours (which is roughly how long ago the time stamp says that you posted your original question).
Ther are some experts in here that I'm sure can help you out and you were very thorough describing the issue (which is a raritly in these forums) so I'm sure someone will be along eventually.
This also is a slow time of day around here. These are user to user forums so there isn't any particular person or people that are required to be here and answer questions as soon as they're asked.

  • CS4 license marooned on my dead / inaccessible computer. Online Support goes in circles. Can't elevate to human by phone, or by chat. Chat link grayed-out for me. Now what?

    Hello:
I attempted to follow instructions given by a previous answer that addresses the same problem I have, but without success: Deactivation, cant reach computer it was activated on and Adobe "support" goes in circles and ends up in forum where Adobe cannot deactivate for me
Following Contact Customer Care did not lead me to chat option that I could spot. I'm sorry if I missed a link that is obvious to everyone but me. Maybe I just need that link pointed out to me more vigorously.
By the way, this link, What are my contact options? has a chat option, but it is grayed out (at least for me) so that's a dead end.
So, please explain to me (like I'm a bewildered child) how to get to chat support. I am unable to fill in logical gaps by myself. :-/
    Thank you SO much. :-)
That's it for my question. The rest is just a boring account of how I struggled to get here. Which I include just in case an Adobe Staff Member would find my customer-experience worth noting.
I reached Shivangi Moitra (Adobe) [email protected] by sending feedback about the dead-end support loop that I encountered by following the steps here, at www.adobe.com/getsupport. Incidentally, I gave her a detailed description of my deactivation problem too. Shivangi responded by directing me to use the same link that goes in circles! To wit: "The first step for contacting us will be to start online [at www.adobe.com/getsupport]." Of course you notice that this is yet another dead-end circle in the customer support system.
If my email to Shivangi is a useful reference then here you go!
I am unable to get online or phone support from Adobe. I need to deactivate CS4 from a dead computer. Adobe online help is defective because it puts the user into an endless loop making it impossible for me to find a solution, and impossible to get support. Please remedy the defect and please call or email me to manually update Adobe's activation database. (Phone and email address redacted.)
I own a copy of CS4 that is marooned on dead computer. Consequently, I can not deactivate that copy. I know that a single license for Adobe CS4 only lets me install the application on two computers, of which I can only use the application on one computer at a time.
I need Adobe to manually deactivate my earliest CS4 installation from its servers so that I can activate CS4 again when my new computer dies so that my work flow is not interrupted by the unavoidable (meaning eventual) breakdown of my next computer.

  • How can recipients submit a distributed form via email to any email address they want?

First, a little background to describe our situation:
I have a standard Acrobat form here that I need about 20 of my salespeople to use to send to their new prospective customers,  have the customers fill it out, and return the completed form to their respective salesperson.
I don't want to allow my salespeople or their customers to be able to save local copies of the form because it will include personal information about the customer. If customers were to save their completed forms and email them to our salespeople, I worry that the salespeople will accidentally send out one of those completed forms to a new customer thinking that it is a clean/unfilled version of the form (and not realizing that it includes sensitive information about another customer!)
Thus, I need a way for our customers to fill and return the forms without being able to save them locally as their own versions and then sending those new versions to our salespeople.
I believe that means that I should use the "distributed forms" method and ask the customers to "submit" the forms directly rather than save/email them on their own.
I'd like to have a single form up on our website, and our salespeople will just send out the link to that form so that customers can fill out their data and submit it. If our salespeople get into the habit of just sending out the link, and they get an email with the completed form after a customer completes it, then they'll never email around actual PDF copies of the form, so they'll avoid the risk of accidentally sending out a customer's completed form that has all their personal info on it.
    Here's the problem though:
Using the "distributed form" method, whenever a form is submitted by a prospective customer, it seems that it can only be submitted/sent to the email address on the Adobe account that originally created the form (which is me), but I need the completed form to be sent directly to the salesperson who covers that customer (not me).
So, is there some way to get around this issue?
Can I create a form field that allows the customer to type in the salesperson's email address so that the completed PDF of the form is sent to that salesperson when they submit it (rather than all of them being sent to me)? This would be ideal because it would still be a distributed form that allows people to submit their forms directly to their salespersons without having to save local versions of the form w/ all their personal info and then emailing to the salesperson.
If this can't work, is there some way to make sure that when a customer fills out a form that they are required to save it as a new version under a new file name (like "NormalFileName_CustomerLastName")?If the file name is always different than the original, clean copy of the form, then it would make it less likely that my salespeople would send out the wrong version.
I know this issue must come up with people all the time! Any help would be greatly appreciated!

You would have to first change the email address that Acrobat uses (Edit > Preferences > Identity > Email Address) and then redistribute the form in Acrobat and send it to your users.

  • Field validation using distributed form's "Submit Form" built-in function

    Hello,
I am hoping someone can help me out with a small problem I'm having. I have a hidden field on a form which is the total of other numeric values on the form with code in place so that if the number doesn't equal what it should, the alert box is displayed. The problem is that it's a distributed form and even though the message is displayed, if you hit submit (Built-in Submit Form) button form on a second attempt, it submits anyway. So the question is, how do I change the built-in API submit button code to catch the error? Because it's a distributed form, am I dealing with global variables vs. form level? I've tried using the "event.rc = false" at the form level to no avail. I can't seem to locate the built-in "submit form" code so that I can change that to make this APP work. Or is there a better way to do this. My validation code is below and I would greatly appreciate anyone's help.
    Thanks,
    Tom
    // JScript source code if (this.getField("RankGame1").value > 0 &&     this.getField("RankGame2").value > 0 &&     this.getField("RankGame3").value > 0 &&     this.getField("RankGame4").value > 0 &&     this.getField("RankGame5").value > 0 &&     this.getField("RankGame6").value > 0 &&     this.getField("RankGame7").value > 0 &&     this.getField("RankGame8").value > 0 &&     this.getField("RankGame9").value > 0 &&     this.getField("RankGame10").value > 0 &&     this.getField("RankGame11").value > 0 &&     this.getField("RankGame12").value > 0 &&     this.getField("RankGame13").value > 0 &&     this.getField("RankGame14").value > 0 &&     this.getField("RankGame15").value > 0 &&     this.getField("RankGame16").value > 0)     {       if (this.getField("RankGameTotal").value == 136) {         } else {         event.rc = false;         app.alert("Please check your confidence points. They should add up to 136, but are adding up to " + this.getFiel         ("RankGameTotal").value + ".");        }     } else { }

    try67,
Thanks for your reply. When you say to "remove the Submit action, and submit the form yourself inside your code" are you refering to the
distributed forms "Submit Form" button displayed on the purple tool bar of the distributed form? And if so, could you please let me know how I can do that? I've
looked into that and haven't found an answer. Doing that would solve my problem of having my own submit code acting correctly and the
distributed forms "Submit form" code not having any idea about my forms desired field value.
    Thanks again,
    Tom

  • Why is the "Show my windows and tabs from last time) option in Options- General is grayed out and will not let me restore previous sessions?

After updating to Firefox 6, the option in the Options-> General section to "Show my windows and tabs form last time" is grayed out and will not allow me to set it. If I go to the Firefox homepage, the option does not appear, nor does it appear if I go under the History or Firefox tab.
I tried to follow the directions on this website on the Session Restore page, but that seems out of date or just not helping.
I even went to the about:config (about:session restore does not work) and there was nothing I saw that would work

Firefox 6 seems to change your settings in Tools Options Privacy to "Never remember history". Once you change this to "Remember history" it will restore your previous session, as long as the setting in Tools Options General Startup is set to "Show my windows and tabls from last time"
Bad idea Mozilla - installing 6 should pick up your settings from 5. This problem will confuse many users.

  • Acrobat 9 Pro Extended crashes when trying to distribute form

    Hi.
I am experiencing an issue with Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro Extended on Windows XP Pro SP3 32-bit.
I have created a pdf file derived from an html and css file.
The pdf file comes out perfectly with form fields automatically detected, etc.
However, when I try to distribute the form, by clicking on
    1. Forms > Distribute Form...
    2. Manually collect responses in my email inbox..
    3. Save a local copy and manually send it later.
Acrobat.exe crashes with faulting module acroform.api. when trying to create the response file.
Faulting application acrobat.exe, version 9.0.0.332, faulting module acroform.api, version 9.0.0.332, fault address 0x00025878.
    Any ideas?
I can successfully distribute a different form created from InDesign.
    Thank you.

Any ideas?   there was an update on adobe dated 2/25/13.   Perhaps if I uninstall it?   I need advice on how to uninstall. When I view updates and click on it, and then click uninstall, it goes back to the Program Screen, in Control, for all programs. Then do I click on Acrobat and Uninstall?  I am nervous about doing this. Thanks

  • How can I customize Firefox to eliminate the function where the browser grays out the window in order to highlight a question box?

Ever since I upgraded from Firefox 3 (which I waited so long to do because I couldn't customize the newer Firefox the way I wanted to) to Firefox 14.0.1, I have had a problem.
I guess that one of the websites I visit is trying to imitate Windows, where the background becomes grayed out whenever it wants you to concentrate on a response box. So when I am on a third-party email site (Inbox.com), and delete a message, when the message box pops up to ask me if I really want to delete the message, the background becomes grayed out while the response box is displayed. This never happened on that site when I used Firefox 3, and I would like to prevent this from happening.
I have tried to manage this with an add-on (Element Hiding Helper for Adblock Plus), but it won't allow me to select the grayed out part of the screen the way it does with unsolicited "pop-ups".
Is there a Firefox setting or an add-on I can use to keep the background from becoming "grayed out"?
    Thank you

    Thanks for responding.
It isn't that there is anything grayed out that I need to see, just that it would be a preference of mine to not have the graying occur. It didn't happen in build 3.
It's just that something about the graying strikes me as "bossy", and since it's my computer (and I should be able to control it as I please), it irritates me.
To answer your other post, I don't want to upgrade to build 20. Actually, I would rather return to 3, just to keep things like this from happening.
In version 3, I also had more control over the autocomplete function on some websites. I'm not talking about the autocomplete that fills in forms or passwords, but the autocomplete that occurs when you type in a search box on a website. I had eliminated almost all occurances of autocomplete by using various different things, until I got Firefox 14. Now I have to put up with it on a few sites, including one that I use often.
Every time I get a newer version of Firefox, I have to accept more and more things that I don't want to have in my browser.

i recently tried to remove widows7 on my macbook air using bootcamp and halfway through it grayed out .The windows 7 is removed but i cant free up the 62gig partition the windows was occupying on my 121gig ssd harddrive please help

You may have to see about using the Recovery HD partition to attempt to erase and restore useful function of the capacity lost to the former Windows installation.
And you may have to backup your contents outside the computer to do it. Disk Utility on the Mac OS X historically has not been able to touch a BootCamp created partition; so if BootCamp cannot remove it, then you have to see how to do the equivalent of a reformat of the entire drive (less Recovery partition?) then reinstall your OS X. Maybe from internet recovery, then get your applications, etc from the Mac App store, etc.
A complete system clone of your OS X on an external HDD would be another method to restore after reformat, of the portion you want whole again, not necessarily the space where Recovery may live.
    There may be (an)other way(s).
    Perhaps someone with recent experience
in this matter can reply & discuss options.
With my antiques, they almost know what I want before I tell them.
Hopefully yours will after you talk to it awhile.
    Good luck & happy computing!
