Distribution of cost center

All,
I want to create a PR for one material and the distribute the amount to 2 cost center's  . In the account assignment tab , I have distributed wrt to percentage  for different cost centers .
Now while MIGO , no accounting documents is coming . What is the logic behind this or any settings has to be made for this ?
Can anyone please explain ?
regards

Hi,
Unfortunately the system will not allow a valuated GR if you are using multiple account assignment. You can only have either NO GR flagged or a non-valuated GR.
It is something that does not seem to be right but it is the way that the system works and it cannot be changed.
If you really MUST have the costs going to more than one account / cost centre, then the only option you have is to use a separate line for each on the PR/PO. (but this doesn't help a lot if you want the split to be managed by percentage.
So sorry, but it is the way that standard SAP works and I don't think that a modification or user exit should be considered because it breaks a standard process too much.

Well, there are other ways of doing this, than trying to assess using CCtr Assessment Cycles.
You could use a Costing Sheet to collect the costs and apportion to the material. This us the idea behind Overhead Cost Allocation.
Alternatively, you could use an Activity Based Costing template for the apportionment. Create a Business Process and have your Cost Centre assess costs to the Business Process by the end of the month. Now run template allocation and, all the config being okay (this is the catch), you will see this costs on the Production Order / Product Cost Collector / Material, etc.
All of these require some config, but definitely you cannot assess from a CCtr to a Production Order. You are better off defining a Costing Sheet for this one.
    Cheers.

  • Changing quantities distribution by cost center in MIGO

    Hi experts,
Sometimes, we create a purchase order and we distribute quantities on several cost centers.
Then, in the MIGO transaction, the distribution is made with the quantities indicated in the purchase order.
I wish I could change these quantities when receiving goods. Do you know how to do it ?
    Thanks for your help !

  • Transfer between cost center and to copa

    Dear Forum,
I have 3 points to clarify.
    1) Assessment or distribution, sender cost center is credited and receiver cost center will be debited. cost in sender will reduce and receiver will increase. correct?
    2) For keu3 where cost center to copa, will cost in cost center reduce when transfer to cops?
    3) For keu3, how is the double entry like with the use of assessment cost element when transfer to copa?
    Thanks

    HI,
when defining an aassessment cycle within T-Code KEU5 the sender is cost center / cost element (or a group of them), the receiver is always a combination of CO-PA characteristics that you define within the segment definition.
This characteristics combination + some technical infos are stored with the key PAOBJNR (profitabilty analysis object number).
SO the cost center is credited and the CO-PA receiver (a PAOBJNR) is debited during assessment execution.

  • AP invoice with different tax rate and cost center?

    Dear all,
We are just upgrade from 11i to R12.1.3. Before in 11i, we can change distribution account in AP invoice distribution line if the type is "Tax". However, after updated to R12, we define tax code (e.g. P1 for particular account combination), so once user selects tax code "P1" and invoice will automatic creates tax line for such invoice but the user cannot change distribution account anymore. Because in 11i, user will change the distribution account (cost center segment) but now in R12 user cannot change it.
The only work around is defining different tax code for different cost center.
    For example: P1-0001 => 01.0000.999999.00001
    P2-0001 => 01.0000.999999.00002
We have hundred of tax code and cost center combination.
Any other work around for this? or anyone encounter the same problem?
    Please advice.
    Thanks.

Let me explain more in details:
    1) The cost centre will will more. 2 cost centres just a simple example.
For now, we have 5 cost centres for each of the tax rate. For the work around now, I need to define 5 tax codes for the same tax rate for different distribution combinations:
    Quote
Tax Code ==>Tax Rate ==> AP Distribution Combination
    A1-3500 ==> 10% ==>001.9999999.3500.00
    A1-3600 ==> 10%==> 001.9999999.3600.00
    A1-3700 ==> 10%==> 001.9999999.3700.00
    A1-3800 ==> 10%==> 001.9999999.3800.00
    A1-3900 ==> 10%==> 001.9999999.3900.00
    2) The driving factor would be 100% percent.
    Please kindly advice.
    Many thanks.

  • Cost center distribution

    Hi,
Kindly Advice how to distribute expenses from one cost center to different cost centers
My client was asking for only reporting purpose but amount should not allocate from one cost center to different cost centers
For Ex : 20 G/L accounts are created as a cost element while doing the transaction with this G/L accounts they will assign one cost center
Month end they want to distribute ratio wise to different cost centers but amount should not post to different cost centers
and every month percentages will be change based on that client should get the report
    Is there any standard report?
    Regards
    Srinivas

    HI Mgitur
    Thanks for speedy reply
Actually my client was asking for reporting purpose only
For ex : 2 cost elements are there (G/L accounts)
                  2100000 (G/L)
                  2200000 (G/L)
    In this G/L accounts transaction are done with 100000 (210000 G/L) rs and 150000 (220000 G/L)
While posting the transactions to this G/L accounts the cost center "A" was assigned
Now these amount he want to distribute percentage wise to different cost centers like B,C,D
But this amount should not allocate to different cost centers that amount should be in the same G/L account and same cost center
i have tried distribution cycle in KSV1 t code and run in the KSV5
But in that we will mention some percentages based on that i am getting report properly in the test run mode
Unfortunately if client remove test run button that amount will be posted to different cost centers so it's not correct way and morever every month percentages also will be change based on that client should be change percentages and have to get report based on new percentages
In the KSV1 client cannot change percentages because of configuration issue so he cannot change in the KSV1
Please give me the suggestion for this

  • Functional Area derivation as obligatory checkbox in Cost Center distribution cycle?

    Dear All,
We are using Cost of Sales accounting with FI-CO online integration. Derivation of Functional Area for Cost Center assessment cycles is an obligatory indicator. Nevertheless I may create Cos Center distribution cycles without this option (what affects FI-CO online integration). Can anybody explain a system logic behind it?
Can I set Functional Area derivation as an obligatory checkbox for Cost Center distribution cycles too?
    Bartlomiej Seidel

    Hi,
I have searched for any useful note, but without result so far. The point is that any new distribution or assessment cycle (cost centers) in our company must work with Functional Area derivation (than FI-CO online integration works correctly). With our current SAP setup I must select this indicator for every assessment cycle - it is obligatory. But is not obligatory for distribution cycles - and I don't know why?
I would like to protect everybody from crating distribution cycles without FA derivation indicator (like it works now for assessment cycles).  How may I do it?

  • Cost center data distribution through change pointers

    HI
I need to distribute cost center data through change pointers
Can anyone please tell me the steps i need to follow
please dont give links, but would be helpful if some1 can tell me step by step
and how to do testing, ie which tables i need to check to see whether my change pointers are working or not.
    Thanks in advance
    Regards

    Hi,
    Please follow the following steps.
Check if Change pointer is active Globally via BD61
Check if change pointer is active for COSMAS via BD50
Maintain required field entries for which you need the change pointer to be triggered vai BD52.
Maintain distribution model for Source and Traget System for message type COSMAS in source system
    Maintain partner profile via WE20.
Then run transaction BD21 to trigger change pointer idocs.
    Hope it helps.

  • Effect of Cost Center Distribution in COPA

    Hi,
We are running the cost center distribution to transfer the cost from one cost center to another cost center. It is creating the controlling document but in COPA  reports the cost is not getting transfered from one cost center to another. How can we transfer the cost from  one cost center to another with the subsequent effect in COPA.
    Thanks
    Ariel

    Hi Ariel,
when you refer to the cost center in COPA, are you talking about the field "sender cost center"?
That field shows the costs center that the costs came from when they were transferred from cost center to COPA through an assessment cycle (KEU5). When you transfer costs from one cost center to another AFTER running the assessment cycles in KEU5, then that transfer cannot have any effect on COPA. You would have to first transfer from one cost center to the other and THEN run the COPA assessment in KEU5.
I hope I have understood your question correctly

  • Cost Center Distribution in Plan

    Hi All,
I am looking for a solution how I can do a (plan) allocation for cost centers? In the standard I can only create distribution rules and run a overhead distribution for the actual data.
    Kind regards,
    Wolfgang

    Hi Andreas,
we have several distribution rules. E.G.
    distribute cost center 1 to cc2 (20%), cc3 (40%), cc4 (40%) and
    distribute cost center 5 to cc2 (30%), cc6 (50%), cc7 (20%) ….
We want to use this rules for our cost center planning. This reason ist that we only plan our primary cost. The secondary cost should than be planned by using the distribution rules. This means that after planing our cost center we want to distribute the values of some cc to other cc. Because only if we are doing this we can than use our cc-planing for comparison of plan and actual data.
As far as I know is the use of the distibution rules not possible in the planning.
    Best regards,
    Wolfgang

  • Profit Center / Cost Center Distribution

    Hello,
I'm trying to send Profit Centers / Cost Centers via IDoc.  I can create the master records with PRCMAS01 / COSMAS01, but I'm not sure how to do the assignment to a company code via IDoc.  Can anyone shed some light?
    Thanks,
    Harrison

    Update:
The cost center IDoc contains a field for company codes even though it's not mentioned in the IDoc documentation for COSMAS01.  As cost centers are only assigned to one company code the field only supports one entry
Profit centers on the other hand do not support the assignment of company codes via IDoc.  I believe this is because SAP by default assumes that you want to assign a profit center to all company codes, therefore it doesn't have a purpose for a structure to support this in the IDoc.

  • Cost Distribution - Sender to be selected with Real Cost Center / Stats IO

    hi CO allocation gurus,
our company has a unique requirement. we want to identify cost by Cost Center/stats IO combination. We have a scenario wherein one cost center will have multiple Stats IO combination and these Stats IO can be used across multiple cost centers.
The reason is that the Stats IO are cost portions identifiers and they are repetitive across cost centers. So instead of creating multiple cost centers, we create a combination in the coding block.
During cost allocation we want to move cost based on a particular cost combination. As Stats IO are not cost allocatble, the system completely ignores the combination and total cost for the cost center/cost element combination is selected.
The stats IO information is stored in COEP as OBJNR_N1 field. However this is not available in the Tcode KCIV ( maintain Sender / receiver combination ).
Has anybody come across this scenario and did some enhancement, are there any speciific userexits  to address this ?
    any help would be appreciated...

  • Open field for cost center on the material master

We have a unique requirement in a facility we intend to implement plant maintenance in to track a cost center to a material by including the cost center on the material master somewhere.  Cost center is not a field on any of the material tabs we use for maintenance materials, but the requirement is just that it is tracked in a field, even if it's just an open field like a "user defined field" or another field not used often.  We realize there are disadvantages such as the field not being checked against active cost centers, but we are looking at options short of adding cost center as a field manually to a tab (which I believe would require ABAP assistance).  I don't think there are any other fields/tabs we are currently not utilizing but I could be wrong... The best option we can think of is adding it in a material characteristic so it shows on the classifications tab, but I thought I would see if anyone has any other ideas.
    Thanks

Not sure what is the need of cost center on material master when you want to implement Plant maintenance module. Do you have any specific requirement for this?
Ideally cost center will be derived from either functional location/ equipment (equivalent of material master) on to PM work order or notification.
    Can you elaborate the requirement?
After all if you wish to go with cost center, then I suggest it should be at plant level as PM requires plant level distribution. You can add up a custom field and give the reference of cost center data element with help of developer.

  • How to make Cost Center display/default at expense level in PR05

    Dear Friends
I've a requirement in Travel Mgt where in PR05 at each expense line item level i need cost center to be displayed by default as 100%. Is there any possibility at the config level or Exit level to make it default.
Currently we are using a Exit: ZXTRVU03 for Cost center & Business area validation. where my client has given us a cost center ranges to make business area as default explicitly only for Travel Mgt. for ex: we have a Cost center range as 74001 - 74018 for this range the default business area for Travel Mgt must be 101 and for HR & FI it can be 101-110 any range. Based on that we have written a program using the Exit ZXTRVU03. Now the problem we are facing is in Master data the employee is falling under the above mentioned costcenter and HR has given a business area which falls under 101-110 (take example as 105)
Now the issue here is, based on the Master data, when we incur any expense in PR05, the Business area 105is coming by default for any of the expense. Now as per my client, this is wrong. It must be 101 at any cause. So, based on that we have made an enhancement that if user changes the Cost distribution to 100% or make the cost distribution with splits like 50% with home cost center & 50% with another cost center then only our enhancement gets triggered. But user is not satisfied with the solution provided, as we cannot expect users to change the cost distribution unless there is a split. So we are planning to pass a value in the cost distribution field as 100% ( as in std the field itself is blank, but still it denotes as 100%)
I hope the above screenshot makes it clear. Now instead of manally entering 100% to make the enhancement trigger, is there any possible solution where I pass the value as default 100% to make users life easier.
Note: we are not maintaining IT0017 for cost center, company code, Business area as we are reading this data through Master data.
Kindly provide me your valuable solutions.
    Cheers
    Pradyp

    Hi Parakala,
Maintain Cost centre at each Organization unit at infotype 1008.
at PR05 it will pick by default.
Let me know if you need more information.
