DMO - ECC Migration to HANA, wrong Target DB SID was given

Dear Experts,
I am migrating our ECC system to HANA DB, Currently the long running phase ACT_UPG is going on. During the configuration phase by mistake i have given Target DB SID as source system SID which is wrong , Target HANA DB SID is different. Would i be able to change this setting in upcoming phases ? Would system prompt me to change DB SID after failing to connect to the given SID ? , I tried looking for config file which is similar to keydb.xml to edit this, but i am not able to find such kind of config file.
Please advise, i am worried if i need to redo everything
Thanks,
Aravind

Hi Jeena,
My last reply was logical assumption.
You have used DMO with SUM, at least one SP should be applied.
Refer: 1813548 - Database Migration Option (DMO) for Software Update Manager
If you are on 7.31 or 7.4  ---- your target can be 7.31 or 7.4 - your choice.

  • Migrate to HANA and to another o.s. type with DMO

    Hi,
    I want to migrate my SAP BW system to HANA and migrate also the o.s (eg. from windows to linux). I want to know if DMO allow me to do achieve this result. For my understanding on DMO, the same application server is used also after the migration. Then the step maybe are:
    - migrate system with DMO and obtain my system WITH DB on HANA and PAS on windows.
    - turn off definitively the PAS (windows) and install a new PAS on linux (new server) on top of HANA DB
    Is this a right procedure?
    Thanks
    Regards,
    Walter

    Hi Walter,
    DMO is definitely the best option for migration to HANA.
    It enables the Upgrade and Migrate to be performed with a single downtime and in a single step.
    It will also be including Unicode conversion thereby making it even more potent.
    One thing that needs to be understood is that Using DMO option the OS of the application server does not change. It only migrates the DB from AnyDB to HANA.
    If the OS needs to be changed then we have to perform the standard system copy Export/Import of the source system.
    Even traditionally as per SAP if we have to perform OS migration we had to follow the traditional SYSTEM Export/Import .
    Regarding the steps mentioned in your post, I have not come across it anywhere in SAP documentation. If SAP has documented it then it would be definitely an option.

  • Parse failed: Exception DBD, The supplied XML is not valid[Measures].[SAP_OBJECT_NAME] State:N/A error for hidden KFs when migrated to HANA

    Hi All
    Please help me with the following query. We are migrating SAP BW 7.4 on Oracle to HANA. We have few WEBI report's universes built on BEx queries. In one of those reports there are some hidden RKFs, these works perfectly fine in reports based on oracle. Now we migrated to HANA in development system and when i refresh the universe structure they started giving errors like "Parse failed: Exception DBD, The supplied XML is not valid[Measures].[SAP_OBJECT_NAME] State:N/A". The object giving this error is in hidden state. I tried to unhide it and run the report then it runs fine but that not the client want as there might be so many hidden KFs in other reports also. BO version is 4.1 SP 2. We are on SAPKW74006 support package on BW side. Is there any notes to correct this error. Please pass me the relevant links. Highly appreciate your help.
    Thanks

    DCA-40012: The Web Service call failed. A connection to the target Web Service could not be created.
    First of all test the web service you have created in model project. Right click the web service name and select "Test WebService". If you see any issue(s) while testing fix it first before you run the jspx page.
    Check the port number in the URL and connections.xml, it have to be same.

  • Migration Assistant vs. Target Disk Mode

    I'm trying to migrate an account via Target Disk Mode from a PPC G4 tower with multiple drives. Only one of the drives is showing up (number 2 out of 4) and it's not the system drive. Any idea how I can get the other drives to appear? They do not show up in Disk Utility, either.
    Thanks!

    Any idea how I can get the other drives to appear?
    Change the position of the drives in the computer or use another method. Target Disk mode only connects to the master drive on the ATA 0 bus, and on newer Macs, the internal optical drive.

  • How to migrate LOVs to the target environment.

    Hi,
    I have 200 users with me.
    How do I migrate it to the target environment?
    Please let me know the Migration process of LOVs.
    Thanks in advance
    Tusar

    If you arent familiar with the ADM, a simple way of migrating is using the EIM tables in combination with a database link between the environments, excel spreadsheet, or even access database.
    Create an IFB file that will extract the specific records out of the S_LST_OF_VAL table (if you are using any hierarchy based LOVs be sure to have two separate exports):
    [Export LOV Parent]
    TYPE = EXPORT
    BATCH = 1001
    TABLE = EIM_LST_OF_VAL
    CLEAR INTERFACE TABLES = TRUE
    EXPORT ALL ROWS = FALSE
    EXPORT MATCHES = S_LST_OF_VAL, (TYPE = 'LOV_TYPE' AND LAST_UPD > '2008-01-01')
    [Export LOV]
    TYPE = EXPORT
    BATCH = 1002
    TABLE = EIM_LST_OF_VAL
    CLEAR INTERFACE TABLES = TRUE
    EXPORT ALL ROWS = FALSE
    EXPORT MATCHES = S_LST_OF_VAL, (TYPE <> 'LOV_TYPE' AND LAST_UPD > '2008-01-01')
    Using some sort of technology, the easiest which is a DB link, copy the LOVs from one environment to the other...
    Pushing data:
    INSERT INTO SIEBEL.EIM_LST_OF_VAL@DESTINATION
    SELECT * FROM SIEBEL.EIM_LST_OF_VAL
    Pulling data:
    INSERT INTO SIEBEL.EIM_LST_OF_VAL
    SELECT * FROM SIEBEL.EIM_LST_OF_VAL@SOURCE
    Then import the data:
    [Import LOV Parent]
    TYPE = IMPORT
    BATCH = 1001
    TABLE = EIM_LST_OF_VAL
    ONLY BASE TABLES = S_LST_OF_VAL
    [Import LOV]
    TYPE = IMPORT
    BATCH = 1002
    TABLE = EIM_LST_OF_VAL
    ONLY BASE TABLES = S_LST_OF_VAL
    Personally i am not as familiar with the new ADM, so this is a quick and easy way of doing it. If you can't create a db link due to security issues, export the data from one EIM table to an access database, or excel. Good luck

  • Production break fix path during BW 7.3 to 7.4 Upgrade and migrate to HANA

    Hi,
    I was browsing through the various threads for the production break fix during Upgrade /Migrate project but was not able to come to a conclusion, hence thought of posting a question to get some fresh ideas.
    Suppose, the landscape is Dev - Q - Prod, and if we want to use SUM DMO for Upgrade & migrate, in this case what is BEST possible production break fix path.
    Say BD1 existing Dev box, then Do we need to create copy of BD1 to BD2 --> Upgrade/Migrate BD2 and similarly copy BQ1 (for Q system) to BQ2 and Upgrade/Migrate BQ2. Finally, Production BP1 Upgrade/Migrate. So at the end of it, the production path would be BD2-BQ2-BP1.
         Now, in this case how do we manage source system connection? Say we have ED1 as source ECC connected to BD1, are we going to connect the same ECC to BD2 as well after system copy? Will the system allow creating the connection with the same ECC to the copied BW (BD2) system?
    Is there any other option than PCA method?
    Any help understanding the production break fix would be much appreciated.
    Regards,
    Sohil Shah.

    Hi,
    > 4. Our BW system have a lot of data, dose it will impact the tecn upgrade time? Data volumn will impace system tech upgrade time or not? We need to estimate system down time for tech upgrade.
    Database size does not have impact on upgrade runtime.
    > 5. For BW 7.3 authorization, It is total difference with Bw 3.5. After Technical upgrade, what do we need to change for authorization? Do you have any document for me to reference ?
    >
    You need to run SU24 after the upgrade, there you will get list of all objects effected because of upgrade. Since there are lot of changes from authorization side then you have the option either to change only effected objects or do security upgrade project where you can revamp all roles and authorizations.

  • Problems query data after data migration to Hana

    Hi We currently have 2 BW environments: Release: 701 SP-Level: 0014 Support Package: SAPKW70114 DB: No Hana Release: 740 SP-Level: 0005 Support Package: SAPKW74005 DB: Hana It was necessary to migrate data cubes BW 701 -> BW 740, because in ECC only history of the last 18 months is maintained. After this migration, when I make a query in Query Designer and I use between in "Filters and Restrictions" no returned values, but if I include the value and not use the between the values are displayed. For example: I created a query with: one key figure, Comp_Code, Material and Fiscper. On filters and restrictions I informed that should return only the materials between 0001 and 0003. When running the query does not return values, but if I change the filter to only return materials 0001, 0002 and 0003, the query returns data. Note .: This problem occurs only with the migrated data from the BW 701, loads of ECC deltas are functioning normally. Could you help me solve this issue? Best Regards

    Important point: I found that if you run the query in RSRT "Execute + Debug" button and do not use the option "Do not use SAP HANA / BWA Index (0)" the query runs without problems.
    Additional Information:
    - BW on Hana environment 740 is a new installation.
    - To load the historical data for the BW on Hana was created an RFC with the BW 701, classic BW as source system to new BW HANA.
    - BW 701 was generated Export Data Sources ( From cube to cube, from DSO to DSO) and we used of data sources to migrate historical data.
    - Then BW on Hana is a new installation, but only the historical data were extracted from the BW 701 (no Hana)
    - Export Data source generated on DSO data is ok, but the Data source of export from a cube, data is not ok. After data load this historical data, when I make a query in Query Designer and I use between in "Filters and Restrictions" no returned values, but if I include the value and not use the between the values are displayed, but the problem occurs only in the query on the Cube.
    - Are there any recommended when historical data is extracted on the Cube by Export Data Source?

  • Migration tool Usage - Source & target portal versions

    Central note for portal migration specifies that the source portal should be in SP2 Patch 5. However the note is not clear about target portal version. The situation is that we have our current portal in EP6SP2 Patch 4 and we are evaluting Netweaver portal features like collaboration with Stack 11 since Stack 9 (SR1) and Stack10 are having few problems.We obviously want to migrate portal contents in to Stack 11 to avoid upgrade down time.
    1.Can we use the migration tool to migrate portal contents from SP2 Patch 5 to Stack 11 portal?.
    2. Why the source EP6Sp2 portal should be in Patch level 5. Is migration tool using any specific features of Patch 5?.  ( Since we are in EP6SP2 Patch 4, we need resources to upgrade to Patch 5, test the contents after patch 5 and live with "known issues" of patch 5 for some time before migrating).
    I am sure that i am not the only persion in this situation ( Upgrade to Patch 5 -> Migrate Contents to SR1 -> Upgrade to Stack 11) . is anybody having any shortcuts to reduce the complexity of upgrading the portal to Netweaver environment?.
    Arul

    Hi,
    Currently the flow you have descibed in the bottom of your post is correct. the source system must be at least EP6 SP2 Patch5.
    The target system should be NW04 SR1 (no additional patches and no additional SPs). To this version you can run the migration. After the migration is done, one should upgarde to SP11.
    Unfortunately, currently there is no shortcut...

  • Migration to 10.2: Target Schema managed by old Control Center/Runtime Rep

    Hi
    We are migrating from OWB10gR1 to R2 (10.2.0.4)
    After loosing (!) the old 10.1 runtime repository "OWBRUN" we created a new Design Repository.
    Then we wanted assign an old target schema named "TARGET" to the new one (with Security -> User -> New ...)
    Unfortunately we receive the message:
    User "TARGET" is managed by another control center: OWBRUN
    How can we remove this connection between "OWBRUN" and "TARGET" ?
    Otherwise we can not use this schema as a target, and therefore we can't deploy mappings to it.
    Beat

    I solved my problem using the 10gR2-Repository Assistant:
    1. Installing a new Control Center with the name of the old one (OWBRUN exactly!).
    2. Register the target schemas to this new CC (as before in 10gR1)
    3. Unregister those targets from OWBRUN
    4. Register the targets to the correct CC (OWBRUN1020)
    (5. Deinstall CC OWBRUN)

  • ECC connectivity with HANA

    Hello Experts,
    We are working on SAP R/3 system. Now client wants to move to SAP HANA. (connection with R/3 and HANA is done)
    Currently, all the processing and queries are executed on R/3.
    The requirement is to either execute the queries on HANA and display the data on R/3 continuing the existing system OR to execute the reports on HANA and display them on R/3.
    I'm very new to this and have no clues about this.
    Please suggest if this is feasible. If yes then kindly suggest how.
    Any third party connector/extractor is required?
    Kindly explain in details, the steps that we need to perform.

    Hi Jitin ,
    we have 3 types of replication methods in HANA to extract data from any kind of source.
    1. Trrigger Based
    2. ETL Based
    3. Log Based
    Go through below links once provide detail document which method to use for ecc systems ..

    Hi Pedro, Iñaki
    I´m using Netweaver Business Client for SRM. I need to show BI reports also. These BI reports are in different system.
    The launchpad is configured such that it shows SRM reports in one section and BI reports in the other section. The problem is SRM reports get executed while BI reports do not. It states that the Query does not exist in the server.The queries exist in BI but I don't know how to change the reference, i.e. how to tell the system that the BI query is in the BI environment and not in the SRM.
    Any pointers regarding the issue will be of great help.

  • HANA Live on ECC - Should ECC be on Hana DB or any other RDBMS

    Hi,
       Going through some of the blogs, i need a clarification to install HANA Live.
    If the ECC is on RDBMS, should the database be retired and moved to HANA DB or it can work side by side.
    Thanks
    Hari Prasad

    Hi,
    HANA Live is an additional SAP HANA Delivery Unit which you can install on your HANA One server.
    HANA Live has SAP delivered Views, that are based on standard SAP Tables.
    So you need to replcated those Tables first then import HANA Live.
    The best fit here would SAP LT for replication.
    you can get more information from here

  • Migration to HANA scenario

    Hello,
    I'm preparing the migration from SAP BW with Oracle db to SAP Hana db.
    During the import of the files export of system source, this process must to be made into Hana server o from source server?
    Application server could remain in source system with windows os separate from Hana db of Hana appliance??
    Thanks

    Hello RB,
    Did you check with SAP regarding migration of client using client copy method.
    I would like to discuss my scenario with you and please suggest whether solution approach is correct.
    We have DEV and QA running on same box ( two different clients in same HP-UX box), we have to migration SAP running on HP-UX to Linux. Our DEV client has only SAP configuration not the data and size of DEV client is 200 GB and total size of database for DEV client and QA client running on same database is 1.6 TB.
    Now, we have to make three system landscape. For QA system we have taken export of production and imported into to Linux.
    For DEV system, I am planning to take export of DEV client running on HP-UX and import client export into Linux. Can you please suggest whether our solution approach work in our scenario?

  • Migrating to Hana Enterprise Cloud HEC - Step by Step

    This thread is a container to a fantastic blog which lays out the steps involved in migrating
    an on-premise SAP system to the Hana Enterprise Cloud.
    The blog is here.

    I personally haven't installed Fiori, but I would agree with your own conclusion in the question.
    Installation on HEC should be the same process as on-premise (which is the experience you already have), it just happens to be in an SAP data center, and not a customer data center.
