DMVPN fast convergence with ebgp and capacity planning

Hi.
In a dual hub/dual dmvpn design, EBGP is running over the GRE DMVPN tunnel (without ipsec/NO encryption). Once the main hub is down, it takes so long for the spokes to detect the primary hub is down (bgp hold down timer) and then converge to the secondary hub.
Apart from the bgp timers tunning, is there any other way to achieve fast convergence? and without overutilizing resources? (memory/cpu).
The hub routers are ASR1001 and there will be ~70 dmvpns, with ~100 spokes per DMVPN.
Thanks,
Carlos.

Marcin,
After deleting the command "if-state nhrp" from both tunnels, I see that one of the tunel changes it state to up/up and I can recover reachability to the remote hub.

  • OPU5 settings and Capacity planning-CM01

    Hi All,
I have a confusion while configuring the settings for scheduling for planned orders in REM environment PE order type, when i select the scheduling and capacity requirements in DS section system shows me capacity requirements in CM01,CM50 reports  and also DS tab in planned order but when i deselect the same check boxes there si no data in CM01, CM02 or CM50,
If I need to generate the CM01, etc reports in REM environment , then do i need to select DS check boxes also?
My OPU5 settings are as attached in this case CM01 reports are fine.
    Regards,
    Anupam Sharma

    Hi Anupam,
Screen shot is missing. Rate based scheduling is fine for REM.
Create a "Run schedule" planned order and schedule it via rate-based scheduling.
In transaction OPU5, choose order type PE and the plant you use.
Choose "Details" and in the field "Scheduling level", set "1 Via rate-based scheduling" and save the change.

  • How many hosted web response forms allowed per month or per year with monthly and yearly plans?

I am trying to pick out the right membership plan for us and the monthly plan and yearly plan allow a ceretain number of forms, however the membership materials do not clearly state how many hosted web response forms are allowed in each plan whether it is monthly or yearly? I need the answer before we decide

With the Basic plan you can have up to 5 online forms at any given time. There is no quota per month or per year. If you need to create a another form after your reached the quota then just delete one of the other form first. There is no quota for the Plus plan.
Same is true for the maximum responses. You can always export and delete responses to receive more if you have reached the maximum number of responses the plan allows.
Not that the Plus plan comes cheaper per month than the Basic plan but this is because you get a discount for commiting for the whole year.

    Hi,
The receipt date of the primary product is compared without taking into account the goods receipt processing time between SAP APO and SAP R/3. Because of this this inconsistency occurs.
In SAP APO, if the receipt date of the primary product deviates from the end date of the last activity of the order (for example, due to an offset or scheduling at the end of a fixed block), the receipt date always identifies this as inconsistent.
You cannot rectify inconsistencies of this type by using the reconcile provided in the CIF compare/reconcile function.
In this case, you should deactivate the receipt date comparison. Alternatively, you can activate the order end date comparison if the primary product is assigned to the final operation.
You can use the business add-in /SAPAPO/CIF_DELTA3 Enhancements Comparison Report to deactivate individual comparisons.
In SAP Note 645597, you can find example coding with which you can activate the order end date comparison.
    Thanks,

  • What is best way to set up Ipods for my children?  One lives with ex and I plan to use facetime and texting to communicate.  Should he have his own itunes account?

I started out by setting up under my itunes account.  When I tried the facetiming my iphone with my sons new ipod it said that I was calling even though I set it up in his name.  Also, I don't know how to try to face time him.  How do I add him as a contact to facetime him.  Also, his step sister will be setting hers up also and she will want to be able to text and face time him.  How should we go about setting all this up?  Thanks for any help and I hope I explained this well enough.

First, you should have to Apple IDs
Second, you must have a Wi-Fi connection.
    Facetime Calls
To add them go to address book and put in the Apple ID username under email.
Go to facetime, click the contacts button on the bottom. Click the name they gave them. Click the email you used for their Apple ID. It should start a call with the device hooked up with that Apple ID.
    Set-Up Facetime
Go to settings. Click facetime. Sign-in with the Apple ID you are using. When someone calls that address it should give you a notification.
    Texting
If you are getting a new iPod you will be getting with iOS 5 wich includes iMessage to other iOS 5 devices. Just click iMessage at the home screen and type in the name of the person with the Apple ID you want to text OR type in the Apple ID you want to text. You should start a convorsation with the iDevice hooked up to that Apple ID.
    Set-Up iMessage (a.k.a. Texting)
Go to settings. Click iMessage. Sign-in with the Apple ID you are using. When someone texts that address it will notify you.
    Hope I helped!

  • Machine capacity planning and efficency

I have number of machines and i want there individual capacity and efficency can we see that by any report or any tcode to see all capacity of machine. What is capacity leveling.
Is thee any configuration for capacity planning.
    Thanks in advance

Hi, the following configuration steps involved in the capacity planning: SPRO --> IMG --> PRODUCTION --> CAPACITY REQUIREMENT PLANNING Capacity Requirements Planning: 1) Define time units 2) Define Capacity Category 3) Set up Capacity Planner. 4) Define parameters 5) Define Standard value key. 6) Define Move time matrix. 7) Define Setup matrix. 8) Define Control Key. 9) Define Shift Sequence. 10) Define Key for performance efficiency rate. 11) Define Formula parameters. 12) Specify Scheduling type. 13) Set up Production scheduler group 14) Select Automatically. 15) Define Scheduling parameters for Production orders 16) Define Scheduling parameters for networks. 17) Define Reduction Strategies planned/ production orders. 18) Define Reduction Strategies for network/process orders. 19) Define Control Profile. 20) Define Selection profile. 21) Define time profile. 22) Define Evaluation profile. 23) Define Strategy Profile. You can follow these above configuration steps in capacity planning Yes you need to active your all work center for the finite scheduling at the bottom of capacity view. Use all standard SAP configurations, Capacity Leveling Profile. Define time profile in OPD2. Define the strategy profile in OPDB Define the Overall profiles in OPD0. Then only you need to to active your all work center for the finite scheduling at the bottom of capacity view in work center.(CR02) Then run MRP with scheduling- 2 Lead time scheduling and capacity planning.(MD02) You will get your capacity requirement in CM01, or CM25/CM21. Greetings,
We are considering moving our EDI processing to Oracle Integration with BPEL. I have searched high and low for sizing and capacity planning guidelines for BPEL (and B2B) but have not been successful.

  • MRP and capacity

    Hi,
Just a quick question. Does MRP take into account capacities? I understand MRP is all about ensuring the material availability striking a balance between optimial service and costs. It matches the sales orders (requirements) with stock and generates planned orders or purchase requisitions orstock transfer requisitions based on type of prourement.
But in this flow, does it consider the capacities of it's resources?
    Thank you.

What i mentioned was definition of the terms - MRP and MRP II
What each software does and each process is named in it is not necessarily related to this
MRP in R3 for example will do what the definition says
SNP heiristics will do the same by infinite planning(assuming no lotsizing etc..)
But when you add on capacity levelling you have now gone into the MRPII definition area
So you will have to match what the definition is vis-a-visa what the System calls it and has under it

check the APICS definition - materials management - tony arnold should have some

  • Career and Succession Planning

    Dear experts.
I am in the phase of BBP. We are working with ESS&MSS 1.41. ERP 6.0 ehp6.
    My question:
What are the Business Package that I need for work with  Career and Succession Planning in the portal?
What are the steps of customizing in the system ERP?
Who can share documentation with me?
    Thanks

    Dear Nidhi,
First of all, is this a technology question (Nakisa) or a functional question?
If you are new to Career and Succession Planning then you should be working with an experienced consultant, because implementing these modules require experience of business processes. This person can help you.
Without knowing your customer, their culture, their business challenges, their goals, their existing processes, and the technology being implemented then it is not possible to help you.

  • Capacity planning and hardware sizing

    Hi,
I would like to know in detail about capacity planning and hardware sizing while deploying oracle database products. I need to know about properly planning the infrastructure and configuring and deploying the products. Moreover, when should we use RAC,how many nodes, exadata, DR etc. How to size hardwares RAM,Disk for this kind of implemetations.
I know it depends on budget and environment. Still if anyone kindly give some links/docs I will be able to have a decent start in this domain.
    Regards,
    Saikat

See , they all depend on your company policy and the database size that they are going to have.
    1. Size : i have worked on databases sizing from 80G to 2000G , all depending on the client or the industry you are catering to.
    2. hardware and Ram : Server Team should know this better , you can have a simple small server if the DB and application are small and the usage would be less. If it a full fledged system with high load then you need to get in touch with your server team and raise an oracle SR for exact specifications for that database and also plan for some future growth.
    3. RAC : depends on the project if it requires such a setup.
    4. DR : is for disaster management. Also all companies implement this by adopting data guard ( physical standby).
    5. For having a good start , start reading the books and refer to oracle documentation. More you refer , more knowledge you will get .
Start with the basics.... make your basics strong.. and then move ahead with complex setups.

  • Capacity Plan with Oracle 10g

    Good Day to all,
I've little time working in environments with Oracle databases, I have requested to carry out a capacity plan with Oracle Database 10g for a data warehouse project that is leading the company in which they work. I request to make a plan specifying, among other things: size and number of tablespace and datafiles, projection growth taking into account the initial charge and the charge per week (incremental). The truth is a bit complicated for my inexperience in this kind of sizing requirements we will ask for your valuable cooperation. There are mathematical formulas that allow me to take those projections into account the type of data and their lengths? , There is a standard for creating the tablespace and datafiles?.
In advance thank you for your contributions.

The first thing you need to get management to do is give you two things.
    1. The cost to the organization for downtime, rated in dollars/hour.
    2. The service level agreement for the system's customers.
    3. The amount of data to be loaded into the system and the retention time.
    4. What version of RAID or what ASM redundancy is planned.
With that you can start at the grossest level which is planning for database + archived redo logs + online back files.
I generally figure the database, itself, at about 25% of required storage because I like to have at least two full backups, a bunch of incremental backups, plus all of the archived redo logs that support them. And all on separate shelves.
The number of tablespaces and data files is really just a question of maintenance. Ease of transport. Ease of movement. Ease of backing up.
If you want to get down to the actual sizes of tables and indexes the best place to go is the DBMS_SPACE built-in package. Play with these two procedures:
CREATE_TABLE_COST and CREATE_INDEX_COST which do the job far more efficiently and accurately than any formulas you will receive. You can find demos
    of this capability here: http://www.morganslibrary.org/reference/dbms_space.html.
