Do i get a worldwide warranty for macbook pro ? As i live in india and order my mac from canada , will i be providede with the warranty services in india as well ?
I want to order my macbook pro from canada and will take it to India . but i was wondering if the warrranty would be worldwide ?
and any extra charge for transportation will be applicable ot not ?
Also if any other issues are likely to come if i do so . Please help me with them ..

Apple will continue to evaluate the repair data and will provide further repair extensions as needed.
And a number of folks have found sympathetic managers and had the 2008 logic boards replaced, even after four years.

I have an MacBook Pro 10.6, using disk utility I tried to verify my disk, but it came up with the message, please use your start up disk, I tried this, starting the computer up and pressing C, but it ejected the disk, the same thing happened while I running the computer. Is the hard drive damaged as laptop doesn't seem to recognize the start up disk ? If so, I presume I will have to put in a new one.
There haven't been any problems with the computer, apart from a sticky curser,I have run a permissions programme from disk utility, there were a lot of different ones, but it seem to be able to fix them.
Any comments or ideas ?

Next to startup from the disk, have it inserted, hold c or option/alt (wired or built in keyboard) and then boot the computer and or select the disk when it appears and click the arrow.
Disk Utility is under the Utilities menu on the second screen.

If you used the wrong 10.6 disk, it will spit it out or have issues, use the one that came with that machine or if it's defective, call Apple for a new one. -

If you have not saved the document and Acrobat closed then it's not possible to retrieve the lost data on the pdf file.

To force eject the CD, hold the trackpad while your Mac is starting, so it will be ejected.
If it doesn't work, hold Command and S keys while your MacBook Pro is starting, and type:
drutil eject
exit
If it doesn't work, the SuperDrive is damaged, so it has to be replaced at an Apple Store or reseller. A cheaper way is to get an external disc drive -

I have a macbook pro os 10.7.5 and my mail icon has disappeared from my dock with a pop up box that says Mail Quit Unexpectedly. I have used the spotlight to find Mail, and have tried several more times to open the mail, but it closes with the same pop up. There are 9 different versions of iPhoto and they run on 9 different versions of the Operating System. The tricks and tips for dealing with issues vary depending on the version of iPhoto and the version of the OS. So to get help you need to give as much information as you can. Include things like:
- What version of iPhoto.
- What version of the Operating System.
- Details. As full a description of the problem as you can. For example, if you have a problem with exporting, then explain by describing how you are trying to export, and so on.
- History: Is this going on long? Has anything been installed or deleted? - Are there error messages?
- What steps have you tried already to solve the issue.
- Anything unusual about your set up? Or how you use iPhoto?
Anything else you can think of that might help someone understand the problem you have. -

I have a particular problem that I cannot seem to find an answer to. My new 500gb internal drive for my Macbook Pro 13" unibody is not recognized. The old HDD broke on me so I bought a new one but my macbook pro would not recognize it. To troubleshoot that issue I purchased the SATA cable and replaced the old with the new. The new HDD still will not show up in disk utility.
Please let me know what you think I may have missed or should do.

Bring it to an Apple store Genius bar (make an appointment, so you don,t have to wait around forever) they will diagnose it for free and tell you your options/pricing. They have more extensive testing tools, maybe your logic board is failing/failed.

I know that the built in iSight camera records video. I want to set up a Canon 5D video camera and feed the Canon's video output into the MacBook Pro so that I can use the vectorscope in Final Cut Pro to adjust the exposure of the Canon 5D. Basically I don't want to buy a vectorscope to have on set to make sure the picture is properly exposed and color balance is correct. (In your response it doesn't have to be the full scenario I've described. If you can just tell me if there's a way to feed live video into the MacBook and display it on the screen and possibly record it, then I'll figure out the rest.)

MacBook and Air have Glossy Screens. Will Apple cancel Matte with the Pro?
When the new MacBook Pro comes out, you think Apple will only release it in Glossy Screen, or still provide it's users with the choice to go Matte?
How many people here who have the current MacBook Pro have either the Matte or Glossy MacBook Pro?
I along with all my other colleges are anti-glossy screen, we work in bright environments and it is extremely hard to almost impossible to work with glare.
Saeid.Because the MacBook Pro is one of Apple's 'professional' products I think the matte screen will always be an option as Glossy screens can make it hard for those in creative fields to match correct colours etc..

Just set up Apple TV on home network. Works fine for NetFlix but we can't stream I Tune libruary or digital photos thru it to our home TV as because of my wife's work we bypass COX and access the internet thru a VPN offered by her employer. Was told we either have to buy a second computer (two expensive for just these two functions) or keep turning on and off the VPN(not practical). Any other ideas? Thanks
Does she need to access the internet through her employer, or is she just trying to access her internal network at work?
If it's the latter, split-stream VPN clients (like Cisco AnyConnect) will split traffic so that only that directed at a particlar domain gets tunneled.
I have an AnyConnect client at home, but I normally only activate it when I'm using it, so I've never tested it with HomeSharing. I'm currently traveling, but when I get home tomorrow, I'll try it out and let you know if it works. If it does, your wife can check with her employer to see if she can configure AnyConnect to work with them. -

Hi everybody! I just downloaded Messages Beta on my 2011 Macbook Pro unibody (13'' if it matters) and When I try to send messages to some friends with iPod touches, My mac simpy can't send the message. I see a red Exclaimation point next to the message that could not be sent. I hit retry but it didn't work. Ever since I downloaded Messages Beta on my Macbook Pro, I couldn't send messages on my Ipod Touch. iUse the same Apple iD for both idevices. Does anybody know how to fix it.(At least on my Ipod touch 4g)

You use the same Apple ID in Messages as you do on your Touch ?
I have not tried to send an IM to "myself" I am not sure it is possible.
The Buddy's Apple ID that they use on their Touch should be in your Address Book so that it is a Choice in Messages.
Their name will got red before sending if they name is "wrong" or Off line.
It would be the same if they were iMessaging you on either device - they would need to use your Apple ID.
If you are syncing the chats/messages then they will appear on both.

Original install disks may be obtained from Apple. Give them a call and be prepared to give them the serial number of your MBP. There is a charge.
