That could be a solution. Are you getting any error messages or error codes? Is the iPad recognized in iTunes? Does anything happen at all when you try to Sync? Can you provide more details?
You can try a very simple first step, quit iTunes, reboot your PC and restart the iPad.

  • Need to uninstall iTunes and reinstall, but wont allow because ituneshelper.resources is an invalid short file name and I have already unchecked it in msconfig what do I do next?

I had iTunes installed onto my external hard drive and was having problems with diff things so decided to uninstall itunes and then install it onto my main hard drive. When I attempted this it told me that iTuneshelper.resources was not a valid short file name. After researching it I manually deleted all files that I could find relating to iTunes, Quicktime, iPod etc... at that time it will would not allow me to uninstall or reinstall. I furthered researched and found the file to be located in the startup in msconfig and unchecked it hoping that it would then allow me to uninstall or at least reinstall the program, but again failed. What else can I do? When it makes it to the install portion it says what drive it will be downloaded to and it says (I:) so I attempted to change it, but it has an error and wont allow me to change it to C: so does anyone know what I have to do to fix this thank you

Unfortunately, this sort of trouble has gotten more complicated to deal with ever since Microsoft pulled the Windows Installer CleanUp utility from their Download Center on June 25. First we have to find a copy of the utility.
Let's try Googling. (Best not to use Bing, I think.) Look for a working download site for at least version 3.0 of the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. After downloading the utility installer file (msicuu2.exe), scan the file for malware, just in case. (I use the free version of Malwarebytes AntiMalware to do single-file scans for that.)
If the file is clean, to install the utility, doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file you've downloaded.
Now run the utility ("Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up"). In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove".
Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try installing iTunes again. Does the install go through properly now?
(If you do find a clean download site for the correct version of CleanUp, please don't tell me where it is. Without wishing to sound paranoid (although I grant it does sound paranoid), there is a non-zero chance that posting links to download locations for the utility here at Discussions leads to that download location being shut down.)

  • I need to uninstall iTunes and re install on a drive other than c:

Current install is on an older pc with a 30gb c: drive.  itunes is sucking the life out of that drive by filling it with not just music, but ipad backups as well.  Is there any way to delete and reinstall itunes so that not only is the media library stored on e:, but also all of the USER\APPLICATION DATA folder stuff that normally goes on c:, no matter what?  I've tried looking at the itunes options and stuff, and I've already moved my personal musuc library to e:, but every download and app update still goes to c:, as well as those pesky ipad backup files.

Both applications do not support a custom installation location.  You will need to have sufficient disk space on your primary drive to install the applications.

  • I have 4 kids, do I need a separate icloud and a separate itunes account for each?

What's the best way to manage multiple devices, for separate individuals, within one itunes account?
I have 4 kids who don't want to read each one's texts but want to share music & apps and still have their own individual itunes accounts.

Welcome to the Apple Community AReyna.
iTunes and iCloud have seperate logins. Use different Apple ID's for iCloud (settings > iCloud) and use the same ID (the one that has all the content) for iTunes (settings > iTunes & App Store).

  • Need help uninstalling itunes 7.5 and reinstalling old version

The 7.5 version of itunes was recently installed on my mac but I can't open it because I don't have the proper mac system requirements. How do I uninstall the 7.5 version and reinstall the previous version I had? I'm afraid to trash anything because I don't want to lose all my music that I purchased. Any help would be greatly appreciated...

To downgrade - D/L what version you want at - http://www.oldapps.com/downloadiTunesmac.php
Go to HD>Library>Receipts - remove the iTunesX.pkg to the trash.
Drag your iTunes app to the trash. B/U your iTunes Library file and .xml files. B/U your iTS purchases.
Repair permissions with Disk Utility - install iTunes - repair permissions again.
Open iTunes - if all is well you can empty the trash.

  • Can I uninstall iTunes without losing all my music?

When trying to sync my iPod touch with my computer, I'm encountering an error in iTunes that tells me that the "Software for the iPhone is not installed..." and that I need to uninstall iTunes and then reinstall it.
That's all well and good, however both methods of backing up your music that are listed on Apple's support site have not worked for me. I can't get the CD's to burn and trying to copy the music over using the iPod itself was a total failure.
I've got iTunes on another computer and it recognizes the Touch just fine. It's the iTunes on the main computer with all the music that's giving me problems.
So, is there any way to uninstall, then reinstall, iTunes on my computer without losing the music?
Can I make a back up folder or something like that?

i had the same problem but it was fix
try to open the command prompt as administrator an write 'netsh winsock reset', sometimes don't work but lets try it
