DO NOT GET BT VISION: V04 ERROR

Let this be a warning to anyone thinking of getting BT Vision or any other BT product.
I ordered BT Vision to go with the BT Infinity installed the previous week.  The box duly came on the activation day (Friday).  Unfortunately I was getting the V04 error from the off.  However I thought it might take till midnight for everything to be active so I waited till the next day.  Sadly it was still not working so I did all the things recommended on the BT support website to no avail.  This was with both the Home Hub 3 and my Apple Time Capsule (which I had been using fine with the Infinity Modem).  I had also run the BT Speedtest checker and was getting download of 35Mbps and upload of 8Mbps.
I rang BT Vision support to be told to do the same things I had already done.  I was told it had been escalated and to expect a call back by midday.  By 6pm I had still not received a call back so rang again and waited 15-20 minutes just to speak to someone.  I was told that it was a broadband fault and that BT Wholesale would need to look at and I would get a ringback between 8-11am today.  This window passed so I have rung BT Vision support again who took 30 minutes to answer then put me through to BT Broadband support who have told me there is no problem and now my call has exceeded 1 hour I am now in a queue to speak to BT Vision support again.
While I have no problem with things being faulty I do have a problem when I am repeated promised things that do not happen and then passed around departments, who are passing the buck, and don't know their backside from their elbow.
I was really reticent about going back to BT but Infinity is the only way to get a reasonable broadband speed in my area.  Don't make the same mistake I have.

When you carried out the speedtest, did it present a QoS result?
Try watching an On demand title, stop it, wait a few mins and then run another test
You're looking for Assured rate test - if it isn't there, then chances are BT have forgotten to enable it - it's needed for Vision to work

    For our profect I think this issue was caused as follows:
    Believing that remoting was full asynchronous we fired a 2 or 3 remote calls to the server at the same time ( within the same function ) - usually when the users goes to a new section of the app.
    This seemed to trigger the duplicate http session error since according to http://blogs.adobe.com/lin/2011/05/duplication-session-error.html  two remote calls arriving before a session is created will cause 2 sessions to be created.
    Our current solution ( too early to say it works ) is to daisy chain the multiple calls together .
    Also there seemed to be an issue where mobile apps that never quit ( thanks Apple! )  caused the error when activated after a few hours.
    I guess the session expires on the server and the error above occurs on activation.
    So the mobile apps now ping the server with a remote call when activated after sleeping for more than one hour.
    All duplicate http errors are silently caught and reported.
    Fingers crossed we won't get any more!

  • BT Vision V04 error after upgrading to BT Infinity

    The situation:
    Before last Thursday we had a BT Internet ADSL account with BT Vision.  Everything worked fine, although our download speed was only about 2.5Mb.  On Thursday we were upgraded to BT Infinity.  We now have very fast Internet access - around 35Mb download and 8Mb upload - but since the upgrade, BT Vision has stopped working.  It reports a V04 error immediately whenever we try to watch any BT Vision on-demand programme or film, although BBC iPlayer on the BT Vision box still works fine.
    We have called BT support about this, but they seem to think that our internet connection isn't fast enough to support BT Vision and there must be a problem with our line.  We have pointed out that the internet speed is MUCH faster than it was before when everything was working fine (how can 35Mb be too slow when 2.5Mb was plenty fast enough?) but they can't seem to get past this and just want us to continually reboot the Home Hub and run speed tests on a PC.  To make matters worse, the BT speed tester they want us to use never seems to work properly, and this only further convinces them that our line is too slow.
    To give some idea of how "slow" our line now is, we can stream HD content from YouTube and BBC iPlayer on our PCs over wireless connections without buffering.  Other speed testers such as www.speedtest.net currently report 37Mb down, 8Mb up, 15ms ping and 0% packet loss.  As I mentioned before, even the BT Vision box itself has no problems streaming programmes from BBC iPlayer.  So why have the other BT Vision services stopped working when we upgraded?
    We thought we were actually making progress on Saturday, when we finally managed to get someone to check our account rather than blame our line speed or ask us to reboot the router yet again.  We were then told that something called "quality of service" wasn't switched on, that they would switch it on and call us back either later that day or early the next day.  But when the call eventually came this evening it was back to square one.  "Has your broadband speed improved?  Can we run a speed test?"...and BT Vision STILL doesn't work.
    This is all getting very frustrating and slightly worrying.  How do we go about getting our BT Vision service back and are we going to get our BT Vision subscription refunded for the time we are unable to access the service?
    Has anyone else experienced a similar problem?  Any advice on where to go from here would be appreciated!

    We have now been without BT Vision on-demand services for a week and don't seem to be any closer to a resolution.
    After more wasted hours of frustrating phone calls, being passed from department to department to department, fobbed off left right and centre and continually asked to reboot the Home Hub, we finally have somebody in the UK who appears to have taken ownership of the problem (we've been advised not to talk to anyone else).  Three other BT support people had previously told us the problem was that QoS wasn't switched on, that they had now done so, and that the problem should now be fixed, but that turned out not to be true.
    Now we are told that there is a "TRF" (I think) problem - something on our account hasn't been set up, so the BT Vision box can't communicate with the on-demand servers.  We were told this was now fixed, but that it would take 18 hours to take effect.  Over 24 hours later, nothing has changed and our support guy is now on holiday until the weekend.
    Although I'm not the main account holder, and therefore not the person who has to deal directly with BT support on the phone, even I am getting annoyed with all this.  I'm starting to get concerned that either BT Vision isn't actually compatible with BT Infinity (can anyone confirm they have this combination working?) or that BT are incapable of fixing this problem and we will have to cancel our BT Vision account.  That would be a real shame, as it's an excellent service when it works, but there's no point in paying for a service that BT can no longer provide.
    If anyone else out there has had a similar problem, how long did it take to get it resolved?  Weeks?  Months?  What did the problem turn out to be in the end?  Any more pointers on how we could possibly nudge BT support in the right direction?

  • BT Vision V04 error

    We have been getting the V04 error for months now. We've had numerous engineers out, the last one being this morning. He has just said we are getting 2.4meg speed and so cannot see why we are unable to get the on demand.
    The line is fine, we had a new home hub and still not working.

  • BW: Not getting Dump For Program error in Process Chain

    I have one issue regarding Master data loading issue in BW(3.5).
    My business flow like we have received data from server A and Server A extract data from Server B and
    Server B which is extract data from source(R/3).
    Flow like this R/3-->Server B-->Server A(ETL) -
    > My Server.
    We have a mater data process chain and that chain we have have the source system Server A but in the process chain one process is there which is fethces data like global transport e.g UOM,factory calender etc through Custom program directly from Server B.
    Oneday what happened On that process the process chain Yellow since more than 16 hrs.Once nextday process chain trigger the process chain runs sucessfuly.
    But lastdays process chain paticular process stills remains yellow?
    We are not getting any dumps and even if from Server A there is no logs then anyone could please tell me what is reason and how to solve it.
    Note: it will be helpful for me  if any one know how to check dump for program errors in Process chain as narated issue.

    The question is, why the program  RSBATCH_EXECUTE_PROZESS is not scheduled.  Is it because there is no free resource? Or poor response from SAP ECC?
    Finally what does "EXTRACTION OF DATAPACKAGE 000001" mean? Its not scheduled?

  • Can not get BT Vision app

    Hi all,when following the instructions to activater the BT Vision app, I log in etc fine, confirm my account number, but the system then tells me there is an open order on my line?  I am not aware of anything open.  This seems to be blocking me activating the app.  Apart from spending hours on the phone to BT is there an easy way I can see what orders are open on my line?  I have searched my email for anything beginning VOL etc and found nothing?

  • "Can not get a key" error when assigning the OAuthTokenIssuer certificate

    I am migrating from Lync Server 2010 to 2013. When deploying the 2013 server, it fails when assigning the OAuthTokenIssuer certificate. With the KeyException error below.
    I've tried "re-keying" the cert and confirmed that the key is exportable. Does anyone have any insight on how to resolve this?

    Please try to assign the certificate with Lync Server Management Shell.
    Run the following command:
    Set-CSCertificate -Identity Global -Type OAuthTokenIssuer –Thumbprint <string>.
    Check if you can assign default certificate to Lync Front End Server.
    Check the Root Certificate Authority certificate is not expired.

    In T.Code OMRM select the message number 504 Quantity invoiced greater than goods receipt quantity and keep error in Online field, Batchl and warning in Standard field.  So that whenever you do MIRO system verifies that the invoiced quantity is not greater than MIGO quantity.  This way posting MIRO twice can be avoided.

    I have an application that is generating the familiar ORA-01000 error.
    Whilst investigating the problem, I wrote a small test program. In the test program I tried to get the ORA-01000, but I don't get it (has anyone ever complained about not getting ORA-01000 before?!)

    I have reduced OPEN_CURSORS down from 300 to 100, but getCurrentOpenCursors always returns less that what it is set to. Suggesting that OPEN_CUSRORS is not a limit, but rather a pool size?
    The result set returns more than one record, I never close the result set, yet I do not get an ORA-01000 error. I have tried auto-commit true and false on the connection. Is the prepared statement closing its previous result set on each new iteration of the loop, hence stopping me getting a problem?
    I am using Oracle version 10.2.0.1, the corresponding ojdbc14.jar, and Java 1.4.

  • File not getting Saved on Application Server

    Hello All,
    We created a file in "Automatic Payment Transactions (F110 Transaction)" and are able to save the text file on Local drive. But for our e-banking requirement we need to store this file on our application server. The configuration settings in OBPM4 are already done and now system is picking the default application server path while saving file in "Payment Medium - > DME Administration" transaction. The problem is - although the system is picking the required path of application server but file is not getting saved. The error coming is: File <path> could not be opened (Message Number: FZ231).
    We have checked for 777 authorisations (OS authorisations) for the folder.
    Please suggest that what can be done to resolve th issue.

  • Applet does not get loaded when viewed in a browser

    I have an applet,which works fine when I use appletviewer to see it. But from the browser, the applet does not get loaded.
    An error appears at the bottom of the browser that load: class not found.
    Any suggestions...please..

    If you are using Internet Explorer, you should check to see if your browser is set to use Sun's JRE that came with your download of the SDK. (If you didn't install the JRE, you need to go back and run that on your machine. You can check to see if you are using Java's runtime enviornment (JRE) in Internet Explorer by opening IE and going to Tools --> Internet Options... --> and then going to the Advanced tab. Scroll down and make sure the box next to Java Sun "use Java 2 for <applet>" is checked. If that option is not available, you need to install the JRE.
    If that doesn't help, try using the HTML converter that comes with the SDK. It'll take your current HTML page, and you can customize it to force a download and/or usage of the JRE for applet viewing if for your particular browser.

  • Alerts not getting triggered from Adapter Framework

    Hi,
    I have done the following steps for the Alerting:-
    1. In configuration of RWB, activated monitoring for XI integration server & XIAdapterFramework and set the monitoring level to 'HIGH'.
    2. Scheduled the Report 'SXMSALERT_PROCESS_DATA_GET' on ABAP stack.
    3. In the 'further settings' link in End-to-End monitoring, activated the monitoring and set the frequency.
    4.Created an alert category using t-code 'ALRTCATDEF' and assigned fixed users(myself) to it.
    5.Defined an alert rule with '*' in all conditions and 'No restrictions' for the question 'Where did the error occur'.
    Finally after all the steps:-
    I am able to receive the alerts in the inbox -
      a) by running the test report 'RSALERTTEST'
      b) from a control step in BPM.
    <b>However, alerts are not getting triggered for an error in the Adapter Framework. (an exception in the Adapter Channel)</b>
    When i debugged the SXMSALERT_PROCESS_DATA_GET report, there was step where it was looking for process instances in table 'SSPICSPRHD' which was empty and the alert error log said -
    <i> No process instances found for process type ID: 26460B43EB934C4C9ABBE9627380A89E ( XIDomain: domain.00.hqdvsapxi01 )</i>
    Any help/hint is welcome !!!

    We are using Oracle AIA Exception Handling feature. In the BPEL process , we have catch branches defined. From the catch brances we are invoking AIAAsyncErrorHandlerBPELProcess.
    In case of an exception , the instance of AIAAsyncErrorHandlerBPELProcess and AIAReadJMSNotification is being created. We have configured ns_emails.xml and user_properties.xml as per the documentation.
    Kindly let us know the issue.

  • Rule Engine Update service is not getting up

    Rule Engine Update service is not getting up given below error(screenshot attached)
    Error Details: 
    Windows could not start the Rule Engine Update Service service on local computer
    Error 1053: The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion
    I had installed CU7 and increase timeout time but no luck..after uninstalled OS patch "Security Update for Microsoft Windows", service (Rule engine update service) can start again. Our wintel team want this OS patch for security in BizTalk server.
    Could you please suggest how we can have security patch with rule engine service up.

    If that specific patch is causing a conflict with CU7 or Rules Engine Update Service, the best option would be to LOG a case with Microsoft and let them either fix it or provide a justification of why that specific Windows Patch is not a good idea (file
    an exemption in case of later with the customer/security team).
