  • How-to (easily) retrieve the ColorSpace at the page level

    Hello,
    I'm lloking for a method to (easily) retrieve the ColorSpace at the page level. Actually in my PDF there are ColorSpace at page level and also at element level.
    Moreover what is the behavior when there are more than one ColorSpace. Is it the ColorSpace described at the page level which is taken into account or the ColorSpace which is at the image level.
    Thanks in advance,
    Joe

    There is no such thing as a "page level CS" in PDF.  So I have no idea what you are referring to.  Please post a PDF.
    When rendering a page, a renderer (Acrobat/Reader in this case) decides what final output colorspace to use for the raster image based on a variety of criteria defined by the appropriate international standards - let's call this the "destination CS".  Once chosen, then as each object is being rendered its colorspace(s) (call them "source CS" - may be one or two) will be converted, if necessary to the destination CS.
    That's the simplistic description of color handling when there is no transparency on the page.  If there is transparency involved - the complexity goes up by a magnitude...

    Make sure there's no whitespace prior to <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>, or do away with it completey.

  • Capturing the Page Level Navigation.

    Hi Experts
    The Requirement is like to capture the navigation at the Page level. The log file should contain the details about the user clicks.. for e.g, when a user is accessing a particular service in the portal, all the respective clicks which the user made to activate the desired service should get stored in the log file.
    Regards
    KRis

    Hi Michael,
    Thank you for the reply. IF you can let me know how, in portal or J2EE visual admin, we can capture the page name, then I think I can take it further from there.. Now what's happening is like the logs are been captured for at iView level. How do I capture at the page level.
    Portal version is EP 6.0 SP 14.
    These logs are getting generated in Appache Reverse proxy.
    Regards
    Kris

  • Mandatory item validation at a page level?

    Hi,
    We have a page where the list of mandatory items changes according to how some 'key' items are set by the user e.g. if they select option 1 on item 1 we need a different set of mandatory fields than if they set option 2 - setting option 1 in item 4, may imply that some further items are mandatory, In addition, some items become mandatory due to circumstances known only on the database. We have in excess of 40 items on this page. Once all mandatory items are complete, the status of the page is saved as 'complete' - the user can always save the page as 'incomplete'.
    We already have a database package that can check a table row to see if it is 'complete', it knows all the circumstances for when an items becomes mandatory and can produce a list of fields and the reasons why they have failed validation.
    Is it possible to call this db package during page validation and use it to perform 'item' validations i.e. identify the invalid items and place the appropriate message inline with them?

    Hi,
    You can create a pl/sql page validation where you call you procedure.
    begin
    package_k.proc_p(item1,item2,...,itemN);
    end;
    You should define the type of the validation, but it is very straight forward,
    Regards,
    Max.

  • The affect of failed validation on the page rendering phase

    This is divided in two parts. In the first one I describe the behavior and in the second I show work around and make a suggestion.
    The need that started this was that the value an item needed to be recalculated each time de page was shown. This page could be called from buttons and from branches on other pages. So the logical place to put this calculation is in Computation of the Page Rendering phase. But, when a validation failed the value wasn't shown on the browser and I later discovered it was not calculated at all. I tried moving the calculation in a Process of the Page Rendering phase, but to that didn't worked either. So I needed to have a beter understanding of happens when a validation fails, ence this test.
    The test was done on version 3.1.2 of APEX.
    For this test, here is what I programmed (if no values is specified, than the property has the default value):
    1. I created a blank page
    -- In the Page Rendering part --
    2. I created a region with the following properties
    Identification
    - Title: Alpha
    - Type: PL/SQL (Anonymous block)
    Source
    - Region Source: wwv_flow.debug('&gt; RENDER REGION Alpha SOURCE');
    Conditional Display
    - Condition Type: PL/SQL Function Body Returning a Boolean
    - Expression 1: wwv_flow.debug('&gt; RENDER REGION Alpha CONDITION'); RETURN TRUE;
    Caching
    - Caching: Cahed
    - Cache Condition Type: PL/SQL Function Body Returning a Boolean
    - Expression 1: wwv_flow.debug('&gt; RENDER REGION Alpha CACHE CONDITION'); RETURN TRUE;
    3. I created an item with the following properties
    Name
    - Name: P1_X
    - Display As: Textfield
    Displayed
    - Region: Alpha
    Source
    - Source Used: Always, replacing any existing value in session state
    - Source Type: PL/SQL Function body
    - Source value or expression: wwv_flow.debug('&gt; RENDER ITEM P1_X SOURCE'); RETURN NULL;
    - Post Calculation Computation: :P1_X || ' POST-CALCUL'
    Default
    - Default value: wwv_flow.debug('&gt; RENDER ITEM P1_X DEFAULT'); RETURN 'RENDER ITEM P1_X DEFAULT';
    - Default Value Type: PL/SQL Function body

    - Expression 1: wwv_flow.debug('&gt; RENDER ITEM P1_X CONDITION'); wwv_flow.debug('&gt; P1_X="'||:P1_X||'"'); RETURN TRUE;
    Read Only
    - Read Only Condition Type: PL/SQL Function Body Returning a Boolean
    - Expression 1: wwv_flow.debug('&gt; RENDER ITEM P1_X READ_ONLY CONDITION'); RETURN FALSE;
    4. I created a second item with the following properties
    - Name: P1_Y
    - Display As: Textfield
    Displayed
    - Region: Alpha
    Source
    - Source Used: Only when current value in session state is null
    - Source Type: PL/SQL Function body
    - Source value or expression: wwv_flow.debug('&gt; RENDER ITEM P1_Y SOURCE'); RETURN NULL;
    - Post Calculation Computation: :P1_Y || ' POST-CALCUL'
    Default
    - Default value: wwv_flow.debug('&gt; RENDER ITEM P1_Y DEFAULT'); RETURN 'RENDER ITEM P1_Y DEFAULT';
    - Default Value Type: PL/SQL Function body
    Conditions
    - Condition Type: PL/SQL Function Body Returning a Boolean
    - Expression 1: wwv_flow.debug('&gt; RENDER ITEM P1_Y CONDITION'); wwv_flow.debug('&gt; P1_Y="'||:P1_Y||'"'); RETURN TRUE;
    Read Only
    - Read Only Condition Type: PL/SQL Function Body Returning a Boolean
    - Expression 1: wwv_flow.debug('&gt; RENDER ITEM P1_Y READ-ONLY CONDITION'); RETURN FALSE;
    5. I created a button with the following properties
    Name
    - Button Name: GO
    - Text Label/Alt: Go

    Looking at those debug output, I was able to find a workaround. Look at the line 264 and compare that to the lines 076 to 080. What I did is put the computation in the condition. This way, I'm garanteed that the calculation is always done. Here is an exemple:
    A Computation (in the Page Rendering part)
    Item Name
    - Item Name: P1_Y
    - Type: PL/SQL Function body
    Computation Point
    - Computation Point:After Submit
    Source
    - Computation: RETURN :P1_Y; -- Never executed. Look in the condition for computation
    Conditional Computations
    - Condition Type: PL/SQL Function Body Returning a Boolean
    - Expression 1: :P1_Y := COMPUTE(); RETURN FALSE;
    This works but totally break the semantics created in APEX.
    Suggestion:
    In the Page rendering phase, when a validation fails, the source compution found in a Item (in that case the value is taken from the session state), in a Computation or in Process is never executed.
    This should revised.
    Their should be a way for the programmer to choose what behavior the rendering phase will have when a validation fails other than using a workaround that might break in futur versions of APEX.

    Dominique,
    Thank you for the detailed problem description. Although you posted it some ten hours ago I have just now finished reading it.
    Form pages must be built so they can operate correctly when inline validation errors are displayed. The assumption (by the engine) is that session state (and package state) as it exists at the point the validations are performed is sufficient (and correct) to support the redisplay of the page without the need to fire on-load processes or computations. Session state or package state changes made by after-submit computations or after-submit/before computations/validations processes that prevent correct page behavior on the "validation redisplay" must be avoided.
    The condition types Inline Validation Errors Displayed/No Inline Validation Errors Displayed can be used for on-load events/controls (processes, computations, regions, items, ...) for which you need finer control over this behavior.
    Also, you can forgo the use of after-submit computations when the resulting alteration of session state would be inimical to proper "validation redisplay" behavior and use On Submit - After Computations and Validations processes instead.
    I hope I have understood your situation and that this answer adequately answers your questions.

  • Data validation at the UI level

    Hi
    I have a requirement like i need to validate the input data at the UI level.
    If the data is valid ,only then it should be allowed to be saved.
    If someone knows how to do the same.
    I have seen a method DO_VALIDATE_INPUT method in View controller (IMPL) class.No clue on how it is being used.
    Regards
    Leon

    Hi Leon,
    Are you talking about the Webclient as UI or something else??
    There are 2 options:
    1) You use the Get and Set methods of your context node attributes (The ...CN01 etc classes) (to be found under your IMPL class --> attributes TYPED_CONTEXT(...CTXT class) and in there you should have some ...CN01, CN02, etc. classes. Here are all the GET and SET methods. (you could also go via the views' attributes, this is the shortest way).
    Within the Get (put the value in the model) and Set (get the value from the model)methods you could do some checks and show an error.
    2) Use the Do_handle_data method of your IMPL class. Once data is entered in the screen, this method is always called when another action is performed (pressing a button). Here you can easily check the content of fields.
    3) Use the Do_handle_event method of your IMPL class. This method is called when there is an event that is being triggered (save button is pressed). You can redefine this method and before really saving the data you can perform your checks.
    Hope this helps.
    Kind regards,
    Micha

  • Validation at the network level

    Hi Experts,
             I am doing the validation for the network at the header level for the resposible cost center field.
    I am giving Prerequiest as
    Req.cost center = 'X'
    Check as
    i am not entering anything in the check condition
    Message
    I am entering the message & message type is error.
    initiation of this validation is i want to check that any value is entered in the Req.cost center field. (Making this field as a manditory).
    But after doing that it is not checking in my cj20n transaction.
    can anybody suggest me wht is the problem.
    Thanks & regards
    Raman T S

    Hi,
    In validations 'X' doesn't mean alphanumeric, it means alphabet X only. That's why system is not giving you any message.
    You need to put validation check as Resp. Cost Center <> ' '
    which means it shouldn't be blank.
    Regards,
    Harsh.

  • Change value of a control in a list item new or edit form depending on the page level view Add New Item being clicked.

    I have a list which has a underlying infopath form for insert and edit a record.
    The list has various views spread across different pages .
    Now depending on different pages "New Item", a value for the form will have a corresponding value.
    If there is a single line of text control in the list, and depending ona page name, the value for the single line text should be autofilled when Add new item is clicked.
    How do i achieve that?
    Thanks...

    Hi,
    According to your description, there are several list views in your list, there is a textbox control which holds the “Single Line of Text” type of data in your custom
    form. When users click the “Add new item” button in one of the existing list views, you want the textbox control in the custom form to be populated automatically.
    By default, when user clicks the “Add new item” button in a list view, the URL of the custom form page will contain the name of that list view page, thus, a workaround
    which requires custom code can be like this:
    After the form page loaded, we can extract the name of the list view page from the URL, then populate it into the textbox control immediately. This can be achieved
    using jQuery.

    get URL parameters of current page using jQuery:

  • Prod No validation at the field level attribute

    Hi,
    I have a qualifying table, whose field refers to one of the product number in main table. It means, I can have a product number linked to another product number defined in the main table. Hence, I have defined the text field in the qualifying table to capture this related product number.
    Now, how do I validate, if the product number entered is valid within Data Manager. Basically, it needs to validate if the product number specified is present in the main table.
    Please let me know, if any suggestions to define such validations on a free-form text field.
    Thanks,
    Surendra

    Hi Surendra,
    Make the prdt no as a unique field.If when ur gng to add any new record with the prdt no already in the main table then it will pop -up a message that record already present.
    I think this may solve the issue (acc to my understanding)
    If problem persists kindly explain the scenario in simple manner.
    Hope this amy help u.

  • Records validation at the block level

    E3056               W039708002971  -----------different than upper block data
    E3056               W039708002754
    Has to validate with the data in upper block A and say wrong data when compared. CHoose right data that is in
    block A How can I do it on item level of Block B?
    Thanks in advance.
    Anu

    So, you cannot simply loop over block B for it will clear block C on record-navigation (as C is the detail block).
    You have two options:
    1. Do the check against the database table block B is based on, something like:
    CURSOR cr IS
      SELECT COUNT(*)
        FROM THETABLE
      WHERE product_batch_id=:BLOCK_C.product_batch_id
        AND unit=:BLOCK_C.unit;
      nCount NUMBER;
    BEGIN
      IF :BLOCK_C.UNIT!=:BLOCK_B.UNIT THEN
        --maybe another unit matches
        OPEN cr;
        FETCH cr INTo nCount;
        CLOSE cr;
        IF nCount=0 THEN
          -- Error
        END IF;
      END IF;
    END;2. Fill a pl/sql-table with all the unit from block B, then loop over that pl/sql-table to validate (lot of work)

  • Preflight settings work at the page level but not the document level?

    Greetings all,
    Just wondering if anyone has run into this: I'm running Acrobat 10.1.3 on Lion and I've been struggling with getting my preflight settings to work. I can get a simple fixup (convert all to grayscale, for example) to work on a page or two extracted from a large document (800 pages), but I can't get the same fixup to successfully fix the whole document.
    I've tried this on several different large documents with the same results. And yes, I did try all the usual stuff...quitting, restarting, rebooting, different docs, different fixups, duplicated a known working fixup...
    I'm at my wit's end with it. Any ideas?
    Best,
    Dave

    Do your settings work on small or medium size documents? Such as, instead of 800pgs, how about a 2 page file, a 4 page file, a 16 page file? In order to diagnose, you have to start a systematized test procedure to see where it fails. FWIW, I don't use that feature, but is Preflight even supposed to work on whole documents, not just the current page?

  • How to Handle the LOV AM in the page level Controller

    Hi All,
    I have standard page ,In that page there is LOV in which user can select any value.
    But the client requirement is the value in the lov has to be displayed has to be displayed automatically the first record of the LOVwhen page is rendered.
    For that i am trying to handle the Lov AM in the extended controller by using
    OAApplicationModule rootAM = pageContext.getRootApplicationModule();
    OAApplicationModule childAM1=(OAApplicationModule)rootAM.findApplicationModule("CsfPoLovAM");
    Here CsfPoLovAM is the AM of the LOV
    when i am doing this i am getting the value of childAM1 as null.
    Could you please let me know is there any other way of handling the AM of lov on the extended controller
    And there is controller is defined for the LOV .
    Thanks
    Ajay

    If there is no CO than you can put a new custom controller in the LOVRN ,in the PR method of new controller get the VO and call the firs() method of this VO like
    LOVVO.first() ;this will full fill your requirement .
    HI Pratap,
    I had created a new custom controller in the LOVRN and in the Process Request.of the controller i am getting the first record.
    like follows
    OAViewObjectImpl vo=(OAViewObjectImpl)am.findViewObject("CsfInstallLotNumberVO1");
    oapagecontext.writeDiagnostics("IN LOV CO Process Request ","vo:"+vo,4);
    if(vo!=null)
    vo.executeQuery();
    Row row=vo.first();
    oapagecontext.writeDiagnostics("IN LOV CO Process Request ","row:"+row,4);
    if(row!=null){
    String lotnumber=(String)row.getAttribute("LotNumber");
    oapagecontext.writeDiagnostics("IN LOV CO Process Request ","lotnumber:"+lotnumber,4);
    oapagecontext.putSessionValue("LotNumberParam",lotnumber);
    i am able to get this lov value in the lov window when the lov item is clicked
    and i am trying to handle that value in my exteded co its getting that value
    Thanks

  • Item & page level validation

    1. How do I check/see if a validation rule is page level or item level, I couldn't find any difference in the definitions between the two as seen on the definition screens in APEX.
    2. (Could be related to 1.) I expected the validation rule 'Item in Expression1 contains at least one of the characters in Expression2' to imply that Expression1 can not be NULL. I had to create a separate IS NOT NULL validation rule however. To me that does not make sense or is there a reasonable explanation?

    Martin

    Martin,
    As Tony said, there is no difference between page and item validations other than the ability for item validations to have error messages positioned right next to their label.
    As for the null value problem, the following "item comparison" -type validations do not produce a validation error if the specified item is null:
    * Item specified contains no spaces
    * Item specified is a valid date
    * Item in Expression 1 contains only characters in Expression 2
    * Item in Expression 1 contains at least one of the characters in Expression 2
    * Item in Expression 1 does not contain any of the characters in Expression 2
    This allows you to account for the null value case with a separate "not null" validation. Without this behavior there would have to be a "Item in Expression 1 is NULL OR <remainder of validation>" -type validation in addition to each of the above validation types.
    However, the following validation types do result in a validation failure if the item is null:
    * Item in Expression 1 equals string literal in Expression 2
    * Item in Expression 1 is contained in Expression 2
    This behavior appears to be an oversight, also spelled bug.

  • Page level help text question

    APEX - 4
    DB version - 10g
    Web server architecture - OHS
    Browser - IE8
    Theme - 5
    I know how to set and display help text for a page item, and I see there is the option to add help text at the page level, but how does the user accessing the screen see the page level help text?
    I was thinking it might be a good way to add user help guide information at the page level.
    Thank you for any assistance.

    I know how to set and display help text for a page item, and I see there is the option to add help text at the page level, but how does the user accessing the screen see the page level help text?Using a Help page and region accessed via a help link (e.g. a navigation bar entry), or using the <tt>apex_application.help</tt> API method in a PL/SQL Dynamic Content region.
    This is covered in the APEX documentation which should be consulted before posting a question here.
