Do we need projection rule to create object in CS?
Experts,
I understand that if we want to create an object in Metaverse during synch from CS, projection rule is required.
However what is the case during data flow from Metaverse to CS. If i just defined joining rule, will object get created in CS(If object is present in Metaverse) or do I need to create projection rule.
Kindly suggest I don't have hands-on experience on FIM.

Hello,
Object creation in CS (and therefore in Datasource on exports) is called provisioning.
In SyncEngine you can do this with provisioning code in the mv extension.
In Portal you can do this codeless by activate the "Create in external datasource" flag on the sync rule.

Article is for AD provisioning but also valid for all other MAs with just some differences on creating the anchor attribute.

I am trying to create a common project for all our exceptions, presentations and external resources...
I have updated the properties of the project1 for dependeny on project2(exceptions project)
but I am not able to see the user exception BPM Objects in the depended project to use...
Project 1 is having all code that needs to call the BPM objects, presentations and external resources on the Project 2
but these objects and presentations etc., are not visible to the project1.
please advice if I need to do anything in relation to configs apart from making the Project 1 properties to dependency --> check box ticked and selecting the Project 2.

SatyaWhen you use the project dependency feature, you do not see the BPM Objects in the Catalog. You see them (shown in blue) when you add variables in the process that refer to BPM Objects from the master project. You see them when you create a new attribute in your BPM object that is an BPM Object in the master project. You see them when you use them in logic inside your methods.

11g SOA Composite Rules Error - Rule session pool object does not exist

I'm hoping someone has experienced this and found a way through it. We're looking at exposing Oracle Rules DecisionFunctions via the automagically created web services in JDeveloper. We've tried several Rules examples, including the OrderApproval one available online, and are getting errors everytime we try and test the web service.
Firstly we get this error:

Thanks for your response. I attempted what you've suggested (1=1 - asset new fact in output), however nothing has changed.
This is occurring across several Composite Rules projects, including the Oracle provided Chapter 5 Order Approval example. Unless someone can suggest a solution to this issues, it looks like we're going to have to shelf our plans to utilize the Business Rules component via the composite service.
Very frustrating couple of days, that's for sure! :{

When I run the ADI on Windows Server 2003R2, it show following error when startup:

We are using declarative provisioning to provision data to various target systems. Data is imported from the HR source database. However, on the HR MA, we don't have any Join or Projection Rules. If we are using declarative provisioning, do we still need
Join and Projection Rules on the MA itself?
The reason I ask is that we are getting the following errors on a Full Sync of the HR MA...and I wonder if this error would disappear if we had a Join rule in the MA:

skWhen you project the object into the metaverse (from HR MA), your object match the declarative rule in of your synchronization rule and FIM try to provision the object in "XYZ MA" and it's failed because you have already an object with the same anchor "DN=kbob001".
One way to resolve this is to do a two step synchronization, the first for the projection and the second for the provisioning. You can achieve that by change your declarative rule. Once the object is projected, you can try to join it from "XYZ MA" before applying
the declarative rule.

Customize Default ACL in Create Object Wizards
In preparation to add some highly sensitive content to a Plumtree 4.5WS Portal, I need to implement a two-tier admin. security model. In short, I want only one or two members in the "Administrators Group" (Tier One) who can access everything without exception and a second admin. group (Tier Two) including the entire admin team who can access most of the portal. This way, the whole team can perform admin/maintenance tasks on "normal" content while access to the most sensitive content can be restricted to authorized users and the one or two people in the "Administrators Group" only. I prepared a script to add the "Tier Two" admin group to all existing object security and now I want to add the same group to the default ACL for new objects/cards/folder. Has anyone had any experience doing this? Is there a single file where I can add the customization or will I have to modify each CreateObject Wizard individually? Any experience/advice would be greatly appreciated.
Note that the usual and recommended way of implementing clone() also does not invoke any constructor.

}All this is generally fine, because a c'tor is not supposed to perform any business logic. It's only supposed to get a newly created object into a valid state. Cloning and serialization are not about creating new objects. They're about preserving and restoring or duplicating the state of an object that's already fully functional.
Note also, that if you do end up needing to perform some other logic as part of deserialization or cloning, you can do so. These cases should be the exception, not the rule. -

I am using BAPI "BAPI_PROJECT_MAINTAIN" to create Project and assign WBS elements to it. Everything is working fine.
Now I need to maintain settlement rule for created WBS Element. Is anybody aware abt how to pass parameters to BAPI mentioned. Or any other BAPI which I need to use.
Also how to change the status of WBS element to "RELEASE".
I tried using BAPI "BAPI_BUS2054_SET_STATUS" for the same but throwing message "Processing Not possible because there is no initialization".

We had a similar requirement. Also, We had created custom fields in PRPS, (using CI_PRPS). You need to use a set of BAPIs in that case.
They are
1.BAPI_PS_INITIALIZATION
2.BAPI_BUS2001_CREATE
3.BAPI_BUS2054_CREATE_MULTI
4.BAPI_BUS2001_SET_STATUS (To set the status at project level)
OR
BAPI_BUS2054_SET_STATUS (To set the status at WBS element level)
5.BAPI_PS_PRECOMMIT
You don't have to code again for this. Whatever structures and internal tables you had used in BAPI_PROJECT_MAINTAIN can be used to populate the above BAPIs.
By the way, are you able to maintain settlement rule for created WBS element? If you have please let us know.

Im using the programming interface REPORT Z_TEST_ST_TEXT_EDITOR for text editor found on /people/igor.barbaric/blog/2005/06/06/the-standard-text-editor-oo-abap-cfw-class which is good and useful for me (highly recommended) but I need to import the text created (t_text) in method constructor in order to send it via e.mail.

when u create the transformation for the DSO, it asks for the source. in that you enter your datasource, then you get the datasource fields on one side and the rules in the middle and the DSO objects on the other side. whichever field of DataSource you want to refer in tranformation rule, just connect that field to the rule for the required object of the DSO.

ABAP OO: Duplication of selected data in created objects?
I am new to ABAP OO and I have a conceptual question/concern that I cannot resolve. Can someone explain what I am missing?
I would think that selecting and storing (in internal tables) a large amount of data from many related database tables and, at the same time, creating and storing objects from this same data would unnecessarily consume a huge amount of memory. To avoid this problem, it seems that the selected data and created objects should not be stored in internal tables simultaneously.
Does this concern make sense? If so, how is this problem best handled?
Does it make sense to delete the corresponding data once the objects are created (to free memory)?
Or does it make sense to keep the data and only temporarily create objects as needed?

The approach you describe is to select data first and the feed the object instances with them. <b>Why not let the object instances do the data selection themselves?</b>
I will give you an example what I mean.
(1) Lets assume I want to write an application that allows to deal with cost center hierarchies. On the selection screen you can choose one or many cost center hierarchies.
(2) Using the selection criteria I would select all cost center hierarchies but without any details (just the key values).
(3) Next I would loop over the cost center hierarchies and create a cost center hierarchy instance (a class you have to define yourself) for each key value. The CONSTRUCTOR of this class will have an IMPORTING parameter like <i>id_kostl_hier</i>.
(4) In the CONSTRUCTOR method I first check if the cost center hierarchy exists (if not raise an exception-class based exception) and then do the selection of the hierarchy details (e.g. the cost centers).
(5) The instances are collected in an itab of the "frame" application.
Using this approach you will have little duplication of data within your application. Furthermore, if you really have to deal with huge amounts of data then you could read them only on demand (like in tree controls where the sub-nodes usually are read when the parent node is expanded).

I have a problem... I need to create a dynamic type object with:

When I do:

My problem is when I want to access to an attribute of the class2, the compiler says that it cannot find the attribute <i>(this is OK, because the attribute is only in the class2).</i>
My question:
Is there anyway to access to an atribute of second class when is not in the first class? (i don't want to create the attribute as an attribute of the first class).

When you do the debugging, you are dealing with run-time - i.e., the program is now running and you are just interrupting it at each statement to examine the program state. You will reach the point where the object is already created. That is why you can see all those attributes. But when you comiple, the program is not yet <i>running</i>, so the attributes will be unknown because of the dynamic type specification.
I think you will have to redesign the program logic. As i had already said in my earlier post, it is not proper to have the attributes specified statically while the class itself is specified dynamically.
Your situation is somewhat similar to -
DATA ITAB TYPE TABLE OF SPFLI.
PERFORM TEST TABLES ITAB.
FORM TEST TABLES ITAB.
LOOP AT ITAB.
WRITE: / ITAB-CARRID.
