Documaker- Using Lookup with xml

I am not able to use the lookup Rule to read the data from xml/table file.
Requirement - I want to read xml for company number, after that I want to go to table file and append the company number to the field name and fetch the data from table and display on the section.
I have done following setup -
1. In fsisys.ini, I have following entry -
TblFile = DEFLIB\tblfile.dat
2. In DEFLIB\tblfile.dat, , I have following entry -
TABLE\ADDRESS.DAT
3. In afgjob_batch.jdt, I have following -
;CreateGlbVar;1;TblLstH,PVOID;
;LoadTblFiles;1;;
I am getting blank and data is not fetched from the table, though not getting any errors.
Please advice the properties that should be set for the variable so that it fetches the data correctly.

This describes part of the setup for the table file(s) you are trying to use, but does not include enough information to glimmer why it might not be working for you.
My first guess is that you have forgotten to define the Table Index value on the field in the rule definition area. Depending upon whether you using the XDD, this is either done in the section (FAP) in the Rule section of the field properties or in the XDD source field definition in the Rule section.
The Table Index value determines which row of your Table file defines that actual table to search. So, if you only have one table, I suggest you set that value = 1.
Next, it is important to realize that the field's Rule "data" property defines not only the search mask to look up the table "key" from the main extract, this also defines the search mask to use in the associated look up table. This definition requires spaces to separate the search mask from the data offset, from the table key search mask and finally the table data offset and length.
Offset,SearchMask offset,data offsetTable offsetTable,tableData
So, if your xPath search mask for the XML contains a space, and you are not using an XDD token with a question (?MyXDDFieldName), this space in your xPath is probably throwing off the rest of the interpretation.

  • XSLT and generated text using InDesign with xml

    I have recently switched from Framemaker to InDesign and am still getting to grips with the differences so apologies if this is a very basic query.
    Framemaker was used to format sgml tagged text. You could specify that a particular tag generated a prefix or suffix. You could also specify that the tag should generate the prefix or suffix only under certain circumstances (context rules). The prefixes and suffixes I need to apply are things like open and closing brackets, commas, full stops, and sometimes a bit of text.
    I am told that this can be done with XSLT. There are whole libraries of books on XSLT out there and not knowing anything about the subject I really don't know where to start. Does anyone out there who uses InDesign with xml and XSLT have any tips about where to find useful information on the subject?
    Thanks in advance for any help on the subject.

    Yeah, we use to have such feature wayback then. Indesign package into GoLive.  Kindly look through the idea section and vote massively for this idea.

    Did you change any of the text in the lob write statements ?
    I believe you get this error if you increase the number of characters without increasing the 1st argument which looks as though it represents the number of characters

  • Using LoadVars with XML data

    All the examples in the text books, etc. show the LoadVars
    object being used with a .txt file. Can I use it with a .xml file
    or not? I have tried but the output panel just shows rubbish
    data!

    LoadVars is not XML. You need to get a textbook that
    discusses XML and
    Flash.
    The Flash documentation has excellent example for both
    LoadVars and XML.
    LoadVars:

    XML:
    http://livedocs.macromedia.com/flash/8/main/00002879.html
    With XML you have the additional task of parsing out the
    data.

  • Whitespace is not allowed at this location. Error while running CP using RDF with XML

    Hi All,
    I am using RDF report with output type as XML. It have following parameters:
    1. Organization Name,
    2. Invoice No From
    3. Invoice No To
    4. Date From
    5. Date To
    I had developed an RTF and registered that in Oracle Applications. The output comes in Excel file.
    When I used to run report using Invoice Number From and Invoice Number To the report is giving normal excel output.
    But when I am running using parameters Date From and Date To then XML output is coming after viewing output in CP Output button.
    I downloaded that xml file. It is invalid as in the last of xml file it is showing following error message
    "Whitespace is not allowed at this location".
    Please let me know how can I resolve this problem.

  • Creating workflow using InDesign with XML

    What is the fastest and most accurate way to make a workflow from a XML file with Indesign?
    Lets say we will make a school yearbook with about 30 pages. each page has 20 portraits of students with their name beneath each image.
    The XML files is generatet from a home-made XML-creator and got student information from databases.
    I have heard of easy way to do this with Indesign and templates, snippets and maybe a script.
    Can anyone tell me step by step how to, or does anyone know of a tutorial movie etc?
    thanx

    Also if any one has any thoughts on creating a front end using XML files, pros cons etc??? Just prototyping and wondering should i do down this road!!

  • A problem while using Flash with xml

    Hello,
    I made an earlier post about this but wasn't clear, so here are the details & hopefully someone can help
    I wanted to make a news slideshow for my websiteBut I keep getting this error :
    Error opening URL 'file:///F|/files/undefined'
    I think there is something wrong with the xml structure, I've changed it many times but still the same error.
    The link below have both the .fla file & the Xml file.
    Would be really nice if someone could tell me what's wrong & thanks for your time.
    The Link : http://hotfile.com/dl/42252711/2daa8da/News.rar.html

    To me it suggests that whatever the function is that's supposed to get the XML is looking for a hard link (notice the file path in the error) as opposed to a file path relative to the SWF link. Also the "undefined" suggests that the object you're calling for imay be undefined (i.e. Flash has no data about it and therefore can't do anything with it). This is likely the URL string you're passing to the function that's supposed to retrieve the XML. Double check that and make sure the variable for the URL string is defined before the function that needs it calls for it. Hope this helps you troubleshoot whats happening.

  • How can i use java with xml in netbean ide tell me step by step

    i am vivek kumar kanaujia from Kanpur

    No.
    Your client has provided you with a SMS gateway, and we don't know anything else about it. So we can't give you the code.
    Even if we could give you the code, we don't know what you want to do with it - what functionality do you want to expose to the users of the JSP?
    Even if we could knew what you were using and exactly what you wanted to do with it, why on earth would we want to write all your code for you?

  • Using Coldfusion with XML for Flash photogallery

    Hello community. I have created a site for my son's
    kindergarten for free because I wanted to say thanks, since my son
    was very happy.
    The site has been created using coldfusion because I gave
    them some control on news, new children, waiting list, etc.
    They just asked me they want to be able to modify all the
    content of the site, so I started working on a CMS for it.
    There are two section on the site, video gallery and photo
    gallery that are flash - XML based galleries.
    I know that if I explain to them how to modify the XML files
    in order to change photos and videos, they'll screw the gallery.
    Is there any way I can access the content of my XML file from
    coldfusion and allow modification, like adding new photos to the
    existing ones, or modifying the caption on the existing ones?
    So basically I need to them to be able to click on "Modify
    photo gallery", then see all the childs (photos) and be able to
    modify/add.
    Thank you so much for any info or help.

    If you are using ColdFusion 7/8 this should be quite easy.
    You'd basically:
    1) Read the XML file into ColdFusion memory
    2) Loop through the nodes you need etc outputting them to a
    page or dynamically built form fields
    3) Allow the user to edit these fields then on submit have
    ColdFusion tale the variable holding the form data and write it to
    an XML file again via a loop, overwriting the previous file.
    Clearly you'll need to be careful on validating the input but
    it should be pretty straightforward.
    I didn't have time to write any code but look at the
    following functions and tags to find out more:
    <cffile />
    <cfxml />
    Here's some more info:

  • Newbie: Using Fields with XML and Node.getNodeType()

    How do I know what returned value from the getNodeType method corresponds to the field values? Looking at the documentation for the Node object I can see where the fields are listed, but there are no corresponding values?
    For instance I used "getNodeType" on an Element Node and it returned a short value (1). How do I know that 1 corresponds to Element_Node?
    Hope I explained this well enough... I'd appreciate any help.

    This is a common problem fo beginners. My best programming instructor said that you should never hard code literal numbers into a method. So to be more direct here's how you do it.
    //some node is a reference to an instantiated node
    if (someNode.getNodeType() == Node.ELEMENT_NODE) {
       //this is an element node
    //or
    switch (someNode.getNodeType()) {
       case ELEMENT_NODE:
          //this node is an element node
          break;
       case ATTRIBUTE_NODE:
          //this node is an attibute node
          break;
    }

    Hi All,
    please note that we found the problem. The problem was that we didn't configure under:
    "Configuration-> Security -> Message Security -> SOAP" the voprrect provider to handle the security.
    After that was done (extract of domain.xml) the message was understood.
    <provider-config class-name="com.sun.identity.agents.jsr196.as9soap.AMServerAuthModule" provider-id="AMServerProvider-UserNameToken-Plain" provider-type="server">
                <request-policy auth-source="content"/>
                <response-policy auth-source="content"/>
                <property name="providername" value="UserNameToken-Plain"/>
              </provider-config>unfortunately the next problem occured I will post in a new thread.

  • Create appointment using EWS and set BusyType with XML

    Hi guys,
    I have Exchange 2010 and am trying to create a calendar appointment using EWS with XML.  Everything works fine, but the "BusyType" option doesn't work.  I want the appointment to show in the calendar as "Free", but instead it
    shows as "Busy".  Here is what I have for the XML:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-16"?>
    <CreateItemType xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema" SendMeetingInvitations="SendToNone">
    <SavedItemFolderId xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/exchange/services/2006/messages">
    <DistinguishedFolderId Id="calendar" xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/exchange/services/2006/types">
    <Mailbox>
    <EmailAddress>{ItemProperty:OTManager_x0020_Display_x0020_Name}</EmailAddress>
    <MailboxType>Mailbox</MailboxType>
    </Mailbox>
    </DistinguishedFolderId>
    </SavedItemFolderId>
    <Items xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/exchange/services/2006/messages">
    <CalendarItem xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/exchange/services/2006/types">
    <ItemClass>IPM.Appointment</ItemClass>
    <Subject>Other Leave for {Common:InitiatorsDisplayName}</Subject>
    <Body BodyType="Text">Leave request</Body>
    <Location>
    </Location>
    <Importance>Normal</Importance>
    <Start>{ItemProperty:OTFrom}</Start>
    <End>{ItemProperty:OTTo}</End>
    <BusyType>Free</BusyType>
    </CalendarItem>
    </Items>
    </CreateItemType>
    I've also tried using "LegacyFreeBusyStatus" which also didn't work.  Can someone tell me how to modify my XML so that the appointment shows as "Free"?  The actual XML was generated using a workflow tool called "Nintex
    Workflow 2010", and I simply added the BusyType option to it.  I'm not sure if that makes a difference or not.  Thanks in advance!

    BusyType is not an element of the CalendarItem type it belongs to the CalendarEvent type which is part of the GetUserAvailability operation. There is a full list of CalendarItem elements on
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/office/aa564765(v=exchg.150).aspx (note the order of the elements is critical). You should be using the LegacyFreeBusyStatus eg the following works okay for me
    <m:Items>
    <t:CalendarItem>
    <t:Subject>tta</t:Subject>
    <t:Start>2014-02-04T12:53:33.970+11:00</t:Start>
    <t:End>2014-02-04T13:53:33.972+11:00</t:End>
    <t:LegacyFreeBusyStatus>Free</t:LegacyFreeBusyStatus>
    </t:CalendarItem>
    </m:Items>
    Cheers
    Glen

                + index.jsp - not really usedThe `offersService-Client-1.0.jar` contains a Web Service definition (not the implementation) and is used to invoke the Offers Web Service. The WS client and the jar were created using JDeveloper. The key files inside this jar are:
        GetOfferRequest.class
        ObjectFactory.class
        Offer.class
        OffersPortType.class
        OffersSchema.xsd
        OffersService.class
        OffersService.wsdl
        OffersService.xmlWhen invoking this WS from a class in the xmlrpc-services-app.ear, I get the following error:

    Here is how I create the client for the service:
    OffersService offersService = new OffersService();
    OffersPortType offersPortType = offersService.getOffersPort(); // it crashes hereDo you have any idea of what might be wrong?
    If you need any other details, please do not hesitate to ask.

    But you can also do it with CFHTTP.

  • Open XML and using xslt with JavaScript

    Hello,
    I want the user to be able to choose an XML-file. This XML-file should not be placed in InDesign, there is not even a document needed for my script. All I need is a variable, containing the file. However, the XML-file should be transformed with xslt into another XML-file. How do I do this?
    This is how I open the first XML-file, the one that should be transformed:
       var xmlDoc = File.openDialog ("Choose XML");
       if (xmlDoc == null) {return;}
        xmlDoc.open("r");
        xmlDoc = xmlDoc.read();
        xmlDoc = new XML(xmlDoc);
    I can adress different nodes and use xmlDoc as an XML-file, so that's fine, but how do I transform it?
    I read the Scripting Guide and tried this:
        var myDocument = app.documents.add();
        var myXMLImportPreferences = app.xmlImportPreferences;
        myXMLImportPreferences.transformFilename = "c:\myTransform.xsl";
        var xx = myDocument.importXML(File.openDialog ("XML"));
    However, it's not exactly what I want since I have to create a document and it's not working either, since xx stays undefined.
    Thanks for your help.

    You can't get exactly what you want.
    Your first code example uses the InDesign JavaScript interpreter's XML support, called E4X. It has absolutely nothing to do with the InDesign document object model or InDesign's internal support for XML. It exists only within the JavaScript interpreter. It does not support XSLT transformations.
    Your second example leverages InDesign's built-in XSLT support (I'm not too sure how this works...); but that is only useful when importing XML into
    InDesign, which, as you have learned, requires a document.
    In the first example, you could call out to an external invokation of xsltproc and read in the input. How to do that differs for Windows and Mac.
    In the second example, you could export the XML from your Document back out to an XML file and read it back in with E4X.
    None of this is very appealing. What do you really need to do?

  • Using EXECUTE IMMEDIATE with XML

    Database version : 10.2.0.3.0 - 64bi
    Hi All,
    I have a xml which is stored in a table, xmltype column.
    i have target insert tables whose column names and xml nodes are same.
    using all_tab_columns table i will generate columns to be passed to xmltable.
    all these data i will store in variables and finally pass to xmltable as below
    just want to know using execute immediate is good to use in XML?
    SQL_STMT := 'insert into '||table_name|| ' ( '||V_COLUMN_NAME||')';
    SQL_STMT := SQL_STMT ||' SELECT ' ||V_XTAB_COLUMN_NAME ||
    ' FROM TO_XML,
    XMLTABLE(' ||v_xpath||
    'PASSING XML_VALUE
    columns ' || V_COLUMNS_DATA_TYPE
    ||') XTAB
    WHERE Seq_NO = ' || P_SEQUENCE_NO ;
    EXECUTE IMMEDIATE SQL_STMT ;
    Thanks and Regards,
    Rubu

    1) is it OK? As I stated above, it can be made to work. It would not be my first choice, but then none of us here know the full details as well as you do so maybe there is a compelling reason to use dynamic SQL.
    Here is the documentation for [url http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E11882_01/appdev.112/e25519/executeimmediate_statement.htm#LNPLS01317]EXECUTE IMMEDIATE.
    Actually now I finally realize your XML resides in table TO_XML so that means you won't be putting the actual XML into the shared pool via an incorrectly written dynamic SQL statement at least. That is what Odie and I were first concerned about with dynamic SQL usage, that the XML would be hard-coded into your SQL_STMT variable. You are simply changing the columns (in 3 locations). With that setup, you have no need for (nor can use) bind variables. The overall issue of dynamic SQL being slightly slower than static SQL still exists as the SQL statement will first have to be parsed and validated.
    A larger issue in terms of performance is how 10.2 handles XMLTypes. If the underlying XML is large, XMLTable performance degrades quickly. Options around this are to parse the XML in PL/SQL or to upgrade to some version of 11 and use SECUREFILE BINARY XML as the underlying storage structure for the TO_XML.XML_VALUE column.
