Document from DOMParser vs. from DocumentBuilder

Can anyone tell me why the code below shows such a weired behavior? The XML file used is:

Could anyone please explain to me the difference between the org.w3c.dom.Document returned by domParser.parse("examples/test.xml"); and the Document returned by db.parse(new File("examples/test.xml"));

Thanx, but there is in fact no XPATH error. The difference was somewhere else. It had or still does something to do with the namespace handling.
If I have
domParser.setFeature("http://xml.org/sax/features/namespaces",false); the XPATH query works fine, however I cannot parse the XML document, as the DOMParser does not find my root element due to the lack of namespace identification. however if i chose
domParser.setFeature("http://xml.org/sax/features/namespaces",true); the XPathAPI.selectNodeList call returns no nodes, but the XML document is parsed...
In fact the selectNodeList method can be provided with a Node namespaceNode, that would contain the namespace definitions. however i didnt find yet how to do that properly!
I tried it by giving the document itself or the root (doc.getDocumentElement()) but it does not do anything... ANY IDEA?
