Documentation of the audit trail in IdM?

Hello guys, I've searched high and low for some documentation of the audit information availablein IdM. Would anyone of you have an idea, where I can find it? I found some documentation on reporting, but I would be interested in some information on where the audit information is located in IdM.
Best regards,
Anders

The audit data is kept in the audit table (mxp_audit).  Theres some info on the table in the online help - search for
About the Audit Log.

  • Reading the audit trail

Once we have OC4 up and running, we will have a requirement to occasionally consult the audit trail.
How do we do it? Is it a built-in function of OC or do we need to write/run a report? If so, is OC supplied with a suitable report? If not, does anybody wish to share one?
    All pointers gratefully received.
    Rick Lawson.

    Okay, thanks.

  • How to see when SR Escalation was created in the Audit Trail

We have an FDA requirement that the Oracle SR audit trail show when an escalation was created and closed. The audit trail doesn't show this currently in our system. Looking for a way to make this appear in the audit trail.
We need to be able to provide a single audit trail through the forms (reports are not acceptable) that shows all SR details (as standard functionality) along with when the escalation was created and de-escalated (or closed)
    Any ideas using 11.5.10.2?

    Abhishek
I tried to delete the extension, in the Log tab, I only got one error which is:
Table CI_EEW_ORDERADM_H can't be created with package $TMP
Seems like the deletion process tried to change the structure CI_EEW_ORDERADM_H.
I checked this structure, there is already a field added by other developer, but this structure is apparently in another z-package.
So what I should do now?
    Thanks

  • Ora-09945:unable to initiaslise the audit trail file.

    hi..
i am unable to log on to the database as sys .Says ora-09945:unable to initiaslise the audit trail file.
linux error:28 :no space left on device.
i have absolutely no idea why this error is comming.

    Dear user!
The error "linux error:28 :no space left on device." means than there is no space left on the device where oracle writes its auditfiles. If you don't know where this location is you may do the following:
1.) Open your spfile with the less-command.
    less $ORACLE_HOME/dbs/spfile$ORACLE_SID.ora
Please be very carefully with this. You may never ever write to your spfile because this will drestroy the spfile!!!!
Look for a line with the text: AUDIT_FILE_DEST. This will show you the path where Orace writes it's auditingfiles. Backup and remove these files. After that you should have enough space to connect to Oracle and every thing's OK.
    Yours sincerely
    Florian W.
P.S If you're logged on and Oracle is running, then you may use the SQL*Plus-command SHOW PARAMETER AUDIT_FILE_DEST to see where Oracle writes its auditingfiles.

I'm currently using the following version:

    NAME                                 TYPE        VALUE

    Auditing Suspicious Database Activity
I have a requirement to review the audit data for multiple databases on a daily basis. So I'm after something that will allow me to see suspicious activity, if any, with a high degree of effectiveness and accuracy.
One method would be to develop a library of scripts that looks for suspicious activity. The problem I have with that is I may miss audit records that are suspicious but outside the scope of the scripts. This concerns me. Additionally, I don't have the time to review all audit records for all the databases I have to manage. Another thought I had was to develop a list of patterns for known entries and select the rows that don't meet these patterns. I think this mitigates the concern I have with missing suspicious activity but I'm not sure of the performance implications of such an implementation (especially as the audit trail grows).
A third method would be to acquire a commercial product, but I haven't spent time searching for such a product yet.
    Thanks for your input!

    Mark D Powell wrote:
I think you first have to define what series of actions might constitute suspicious activity and then try to write generalized code that can locate and identify these patterns such as disabling table triggers, performing DML on the table, and re-enabling the table triggers. This pattern can be necessary/justified for performing certain actions such as a purge of the majority of the table data via selecting it out, truncating the table, and re-inserting the data since you not want the the insert triggers to fire for rows already processed. This would however not be a pattern of action you would expect to see outside of a maintenance window during normal processing hours. What you are explaining here is the crux of my problem. I see two approaches (mentioned in my original post). I feel like this approach here is fundamentally flawed because I don't think anyone can come with all possible scenarios. So we are bound to miss something at some point in time which is not a good thing.
The other approach I was thinking about was removing all the "expected" or records due to "normal business processing" from the result set making the remaining records interesting by default. Then after reviewing these records I could decide on whether they were "expected" (and then be added to the list of patterns to ignore) or truly an issue. I'm interested to see if anyone takes this approach and how they implemented it in a well performing, scalable and maintainable way.
The first thing that came to mind for me was Expression Filter, but I'm currently having performance issues (see my thread in the Expression Filter forum).
Naturally what actions you audit are going to determine what behavior patterns you can even look for to begin with and on how your applications work.Completely understand and agree.
I am in favor of auding pretty much all DDL in a production environment and as little else as possible. Objects should be created once and re-used many times so all DDL is on interest except truncate on tables that are routinely truncated say as part of the production batch.Unfortunately the requirements for auditing trickle down in my organization and it is pretty extensive. I'm seeing thousands of audit entries a day which makes it hard to sift through and find the records of interest.

  • Update Audit Trail in CUP from an External IDM Solution

    Hi,
We are doing an external IDM integration with CUP 5.3 SP7. Our design include gathering some approvals in the IDM solution before forwarding the request to CUP for some additional approvals and provisioning.
We are trying to use the SAP delivered webservices like:SAPGRC_AC_IDM_SUBMITREQUEST for the request submission. In an effort to keep the entire audit trail in CUP, we are exploring means to send the IDM approval/audit trail to CUP so that an Admin can login to CUP to get the entire request history. Does anybody know how can we get this achieved? Is there an API /WS that can be used to update the Audit trail in CUP along with the submission of a request?
We know there is one WS which provide the audit trail from CUP to IDM but not the other way !
    Thanks for your inputs,
    Regards,
    Anil

The following 2 webservices may be able to help you:
Inbound (from IdM to AC) Web Services (available with Access Control 5.2 SP04+):
Audit Trail (includes the Provisioning Log Web service) SAPGRC_AC_IDM_AUDITTRAIL
This Web service returns a comprehensive audit history. It enables IdM to retrieve an audit log from
Access Control (for ERP provisioning) as well as provide an audit history of user provisioning to
    Access Control.
Outbound (from AC to IdM) Web services (available with Access Control 5.3):
Audit Trail (includes the Provisioning Log Web service) SAPGRC_AC_IDM_AUDITTRAIL_FROM_IDM
This Web service returns a comprehensive audit history. It enables Access Control to retrieve the
audit log from IdM (for non-ERP provisioning) as well as an audit history of user provisioning to IdM.

  • A shot in the dark question about Audit Trail

    Gurus,
We (development team) typically provide deployment scripts which contain API calls or table inserts for OA configurations. This ensures consistency between environments and prevents Admin user error from fat-fingering. With that said, anyone have any idea if the Audit trail forms use backend API calls to write to standard tables? Or do those Audit trail forms write directly to standard tables/views?
I feel much more comfortable calling an API rather than trying to mimic standard table inserts.
Audit trail for base tables consist of several steps:
    1. Enable audit at application level (Intall Form)
    2. Define Audit name and define table (Groups Form)
    3. Define audit columns from table (Tables Form)
    4. Run Audit Trail concurrent job.
I am mostly concerned about writing a script for tasks 1-3, since we can easily execute a concurrent job through FND_REQUEST. I've been looking at the FND_AUDIT* packages and none reference a "create" procedure.
BTW, form diagnostic tool didn't supply much information.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Scott

  • Audit trail

    Hi,
I have 4 processes in the workflow. The typical flow is process-1 triggers process-2 and so on. I would like to know if we can carry forward the audit trail for the instance in one process to other while triggeringg the processes. The audit trail should be visible through out the workflow. Is there a way to do this?

Diego Carrio mentioned an idea on this forum a while back that might help you. He suggested using PAPI-WS to return an audit trail of another instance. Because the method that retrieves the audit trail for another instance (InstanceEventList class instanceGetEvents(String instanceId) method) is not available from the Catalog's Fuego.Papi module, his idea was to instrospect the PAPI-WS into your project as an exposed web service.
It sounds like you might have a couple scenarios.
    1. If you have a parent process that invokes a child subprocess, then you have the predefined variable "parent" available inside any automatic activity of the child subprocess. You could retrieve the parent's instance id using "parent.id" and retrieve the list of events in the parent's audit trail (e.g. "myInstEventListFromParent = instanceGetEvents(parent.id);").
    2. If you have a sibling process that was invoked before the current process, it's a bit trickier. You could still run the instanceGetEvents() method, but you would have to pass in the first sibling process's instance id (the predefined variable "id.id" from the preceding sibling process) into the second sibling subprocess as an instance variable (e.g. "myInstEventListFromSibling = instanceGetEvents(idFromSiblingProcess);").
Go to http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E13154_01/bpm/docs65/papi/index.html for the documentation on PAPI and PAPI-WS.

  • Archiving audit trail using data warehouse builder.

How do you archive audit trail using data warehouse builder ?
Can someone please provide any steps in archiving the audit trail table aud$ ?

    Hi.
Sorry 'bout my ignorance, what is a POC?
About OWB Installation cenario, it's all up to you. If your target database is a 9i db and you don't want to have a new database instance, then you can place all OWB repositories in this instance. Remember that DB release must be at least 9iR2. For further information, check OWB Installation Guide.
You'll find all OWB 10g R2 documentation in here:
    http://download-east.oracle.com/docs/cd/B31080_01/doc/nav/portal_booklist.htm
OWB client may reside in any client machine or even in the host machine (if it's a windows server).
If you prefer to have a brand new instance to host OWB Repositories, you must create the runtime rep. in the target database (9i), in order to avoid loading performance issues.
    Hope this helps

  • Audit Trail on R12.1 (shadow table concept)

I want to enable Audit Trail at table (column) level. Though I got response from Oracle Support but at present I am stuck on particular error. Here are the steps which I followed:
    1. Apply latest Patch 12860752:R12.FND.B - Latest Audit Trail Fixes for post 12.1.3.
    2. Enable Audit Trail on a table : I have set this for "PER_PEOPLE_F" tables of HR module
    a. (R)System Administrator, (N) Profile -> System
    Query Profile: 'AuditTrail:Activate'. Click FIND
Set it to 'Yes' at Site level.
    b) Enable Audit Installations (HR)
    -- Got System Admin: Security:AuditTrail:Install
-- Enable Audit Installation for HR
    c) Define Audit tables and desired columns.
-- Got System Admin: Security: Audit Trail: Tables
-- Query for user table name 'PER_PEOPLE_F' and add columns on which enable trail
    d) Define an Audit Group and associated tables
-- Got System Admin: Security: Audit Trail: Groups
-- Create Audit group for table defined in 'C'
    e) Run Concurrent program 'AuditTrail Report for Audit Group Validation' with parameter as that of Audit Group.
    f) Define an Industry Template contain Audit Group
-- Got System Admin: Security: Audit Trail Reporting: Audit Industry Template
    g) Run concurrent program "AuditTrail Update Tables".
Now, I am facing challenge at point (g), as, the concurrent request "AuditTrail Update Tables" is completing with error.
And I am not able to proceed further.

    Dear Hussein,
I followed the doc id: 727770.1 and as per note, I deleted the previous Audit data.
And enabled the audit trail as per document to the similar table as mentioned in the doc. with similar steps. But still the concurrent request "AuditTrail Update Tables" is completing with error. Please find below the log file for the same:

    Hi Matt
Till you get exact answer, try indirect approach. I did view page source and could not find the details in the source code. Then I clicked on image to show in new browser and thats when I got this link: You can dig into this imageRenderer.jsp file that can be found in one of the WAR files shown below. Look into EARs also that my have WARs with this jsp. Mostly there should be some sort of Servlet also to display the audit trail. I just checked from bpm/workspace Process Tracking Tab. I did not looked from EM Console tracking tabs though.
beaHome\Oracle_SOA1\soa\applications\OracleBPMWorkspace.ear has a OracleBPMWorkspace.war file. See if this direction helps

  • Report on Opportunity Audit Trail

We need to write a report on the Audit Trail within opportunities. Has anyone done this? Is it possible in R16 or 17?

I'm really surprised that this isn't possible. What is the point of the auditing of fields if we can't report on it? How do you handle SOX compliance for customers? Can we get an audit report from Oracle with a special request?
    -Frustrated... :(

  • How can I set a report to have an audit trail?

I am using Business Objects Enterprise and am having a difficult time getting an audit trail set up for reports. If reports are scheduled, then the audit trail exists. But if the reports are manually generated, no audit trail exists. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    Auditing database maybe?
Other than writing your own front end app that allows users to run reports on demand and keeping track yourself, I do not think there is any way to do this.
