Documents types used in brs

hi,
can more than one document types be defined while configuration of manual as well as in electronics bank statement?here we are using more than one documents types as we have more than one bank account in different banks while posting transactions in sap.we are having SAP 4.7 and its component is SAP_APPL Release-470 level-0015.
Regards,
Nibedita

Hi,
If you have multiple document types then probably the configuration is duplicated.. means Multiple Account symbols for each Bank..
The usual and most widely used practice is to have a single document type and this is assigned to the Posting rules..

  • Logic in Creation of Document Types

    Good Morning Folks-
Is there documentation on when to create a new document type?  I am on an AR project and I have a client that has (in my opinion) duplicate document types.  For example, they have 2 document types for incoming payments and they are different because cash comes via lockbox(FLB2) and the other comes from a wire.  I have 4 document types to identify invoices and they are different because they come from the legacy system or created in SAP, etc.  They have a document type for credit memos and typically I have seen it is the same as an invoice but differentiated by posting key.  For credit memo, would be posting key 11.
I am trying to find some documentation that gives advice and warnings about this.  I have worked with 9 US A/R projects and at most had to be concerned with was only 4 document types.  I know what the definition of a document type is but they think it is to have them by source.  I see warning flags here.  I don't even know how to create clearing rules because it is so complex.  In addition, they are unable to balance from their legacy system to SAP.
    Points promised

    Hi,
This looks to be a Business Process question or as per the requirements of the client. You can find documentation on document types and how to configure, but not on how many document types to be set up. This purely depends upon Business practice adopted by the client.
If a client has moved from a legacy system to SAP, the document types used in legacy system also influences this decision. There will be some reluctance to reduce or increase number of document types vis a vis legacy system.
There should be too many or too less number of document types. Basically, document types will be helpful for reporting and analytical decision making.
    Thanks

  • Document type for Subsequent Credit/Debit for idoc invoic01/02

    Hi SAP Gurus,
We are implemeting an interface to post incoming invoice with idoc Invoic01 idoc type.
We could able to post debit invoice and credit memo using document type in idoc (BSART)  as "INVO" and "CRME".
But we would also like to post Subsequent Credit/Debit memos also with this idoc type but not sure what should be used in document type field ( BSART) in idoc.
If any one has come across this scenario please suggest whether is it possible to use Invoic01 idoc type to post Subsequent Credit/Debit notes if yes what is the document types used? also I see in OBCE transaction we can only mention Invoice document type for debit and credit invoices only. How to handle this incase of subsequent Credit/Debit invoices.
    Thanks.

    Hello Rish,
Please, be aware that if you look at the document at MIR4/MIRO etc, they will apear as a INVOICE/CREDIT MEMO (in the "Drop down" box, in the top of transaction)even if they are sub. credit/deb, but that is the standard system behavior ! In order to check if it is a Subcequent debit/credit, you can check directly into rbkp table or even better, just check in the PO history! it will be in a separate category !
Give it a check if this is not the case!
    Regards!

  • Problem with document type in ME51N

    Hi all,
ME51N transaction will pickup NB document type by default. We can change the default document type by using personal settings in ME51N. But, can we restrict document type using ABAP development irrespective of default settings. Suppose NB is default doc type. If we open ME51N, some other doc type should come other than NB. Is it possible by ABAP development. Its very urgent. Please help me in  this.

You may use Field Exit to do this enhancement. You can create fieldexit from report RSMODPRF.
In order to use field exit check/activate Profile Parameter abap/fieldexit using t code RZ11.

  • Document type for J1IV..?

    Hi all
Can anybody explain me were to find the document type used for return delivery to vendor process.
For taking print of return excise invoice , were the document type wehave to maintain..
    Thanks
    sap-mm

    Hi,
Hope you are talking about the FI Document Types.
For Vendor Return Material Document, it is WL - Goods issue/delivery
And for Excise Invoice w.r.t. Return Document, it is MU - CENVAT Document but it depends upon the requirement.
To check the same go to path SPRO > Logistics - General > Tax on Goods Movements > India > Basic Settings > Maintain Company Code Settings and check here under option "CENVAT Doc. Type"
And in J1IS, Ref.doc.type is "MATD" for Vendor Return Material Document.

  • Alternate document type for MRP requisition

Our purchase scenario is that all MRP purchased items must have an approved contract to move to a purchase order.  In 95% of the cases, this will be true, but there will be that 5% that, due to expiration of the contract or quantity/value exceeded, a valid, approved contract will not be available.  However, the purchase must still proceed.
Our thought is to create an alternate requisition type that the buyer could change the MRP requisition document to.  This new document type would then be subject to requisition release strategy.
However, using an MRP generated requisition (creation indicator B), the document does not allow change of the document type.  The new document type is a complete copy of the NB document type used in MRP proposal planning, including the number range.  The only difference is that the new document type is subject to requisition release.
Changing the document type at the MRP group level won't solve the problem as very few materials will actually require this change.  It would be temporary until the existing contract could be extended and approved or a new one created and approved.  Also, it seems that the MRP group setting affects only the purchase order and not the requisition.
Is there a way for us to make this process work more smoothly than to have to copy the items from the NB document type to the alternate document type manually?

Assuming you have a material master involved, why not try MRP Group in TCode OMDT.  You can assign the group to the material and that group can determine the PR type that is created.

  • Reverse document type

what is meant by reverse document type?

    Hrishi:
Lets say you made a payment to vendor for $200, the document type used in this case would be ZP.
Now later on you find out that you paid the wong vendor, in this case you need to reverse the entry and you would use the document type ZV.
Why: It helps in segregating different transactions. You can make out type of the transaction without looking at debit adn credit. Secondly, you know that for ZP document type Vendor should be credited and some other account like a GL account/asset account should be debited AND vice-versa for ZV, this way you can spot mistakes if a clerk has used wrong debit/credit for ZP and ZV.

  • How to block or restrict document type

    Hi friends
How to block or restrict document types .
My Business people will not use document types in feature

    Hi,
The documentation about the authority check within posting is given in the online documentation for the posting ta eg. FB01:
Perhaps you would like to read the documentation from IMG on the authorization:
Financial Accounting > Financial Accounting Global Settings > Document > Document Header > Check Display Authorization for
    Document type
    Defining Authorizations for Document Types
    Use
You can define a special authorization for every document type. To do this, you need to determine what document types in which
form employees are allowed to process. Authorizations are checked for the following activities:
    Posting documents
Document display and line item display
    Changing documents
    Programs that evaluate documents.
The system does not check the authorization for document types that are not assigned an authorization group.
    Procedure
In Customizing for Financial Accounting, carry out the activity Maintain Enter an authorization group in the document type. You then assign autho For each document type, you can specify whether users are required to enter.
The same for check of the authorizations of gl accounts.
PLease check in OMR4 and in OBA7 that for the document types the athorizations groups are maintained.
F_BKPF_BLA Accounting Document: Authorization for Document Type
F_BKPF_BES Accounting Document: Account Authorization for G/L Account.
    For example:
The transaction FB01 includes the above objects - you can see this in Trx. SU24, also as transaction F-02 is a parameter transaction with the original being FB01 these objects would be valid for F-02 also.
Please also refer to the following NoteS
150496     F_BKPF_BLA: Authorization for document types
198238     FI reporting: Authorization check for documen
I hope this helps to solve the problem.

  • Document types for ledger group

    Hello gurus,
Document types have been defined differently for leading ledger and non leading ledger.  Now our client want to use same document type for both leading & non-leading(document type using for non-leading ledger want to use for leading ledger as well). Where we can change this setting.
    Thanks in advance

    Hi Jyothi,
There are several parameters which need to be looked into while deciding on the use of document types
    1. Define Document types for Entry View - Here you define documents(OBA7) which have the same effect on all ledgers.
    2. Define Document types for Entry view on a Ledger - When your postings do not have the same effect on all ledgers but you want to make some adjustment postings in Non leading ledgers only, then you define your document type here with a no. range assigned to it.
    3. Define Document types for General ledger View : You need to make settings here only if the fiscal year variant for non leading ledger is different than the fiscal year variant of the leading ledger.
So, this is the basis which will define the definition and use of document types for leading and non leading ledger.

    Kavita

  • Validation foe blocking document types in FY 2009

    Hi All,
Please help me to set the validation for the document types used in FY 2009.
We want to block document type DG, KZ , Z3 & ZK for posting in FY 2009 for all the users. But the same document types would be continued to use for posting the entries related to FY 2008 We have already created one validation as follows -
    Application Area - FI
    Call up point - 1
    Perquisite-
User Name = '1010FIN' OR User Name = 'CONSULTANTS' OR User Name = 'BASIS'
    Check -
Document Type <> 'DG' AND Document Type <> 'KZ' AND Document Type <> 'Z3' AND
    Document Type <> 'ZK' AND ( Fiscal Year <> '2009' )
Message - Document type blocked for posting.
But with the above validation it is giving me the same error message whenever i m trying to post the documents in FY 2008 with the above document types.
Please guide me in setting the logic so that system will allow me to use same document types in FY 2008 & not in FY 2009
    Thanks
    Sonal

    Hi Sonal,
The other approach will be to not authorize the users to the document type (which u require)
The following is the object for document type:
    F_BKPF_BLA -
Accounting Document: Authorization for Document Types
Instead of *, include all the docs which u require the authorization for.
    And for year...
Only open the year for the users u desire

  • Non PO invoice : Entry of document types

    Hi,
I am working on SRM5.0 with EC scenario. Client needs to perform invoice / credit memo with document type.  We can’t select document type from drop down box at header level. How to replicate backend invoice document type (RE gross invoice, RN net invoice, etc) to SRM? Any report to execute for it?
    Thanks in advance.
    Rahul Mandale

    Hi Yann,
Client need to create SRM invocie without PO but with different document type and should create corresponding accounting documents in backend.
In SRM SPRO, it is mentioned that "For invoice verification, you can only set RE as the document type for posting gross in the backend system. You can also set another document type using a user exit in the backend. This also has to be flagged as gross document type."
Which user exit will help here to get Idoc inbound parameter to create different document type RE, AE, AA etc. ?
Let me know if you had came across such requirement.
    regards,

  • Document type setting for Elimination

    Quick question
Whats the impact to have only the GROUP CURRENCY turn on in the document type used for IU elimination ?
I have a CU in local currency USD and the group is CAD.
After elimination task i have elimination in CAD in the column GROUP ( Thhis result is OK )
In the column TRANSACTION Currency I have the original amount in USD and the elimination in CAD is it for this reason I see the amount in CAD ( GROUP ) in the column Transaction currency ? or if it's the normal result. Waht will be the posting if I turn on  Trabnsaction currency in the document type

The purpose of the Transaction currency in I/U elimination is to identify and record on a dedicated account the differences linked to currency translation.
to summarize the behaviour of the system :
If a I/U transaction is recorded in both LC and TC, and then translated in GC, the system will check, during the I/U elimination, if there is a difference in TC b/w the 2 partners, check the global difference in GC, and deduct what is linked to Currency translation diff and what is linked to other differences. It will then be possible to record these 2 kinds of difference on separate accounts.
If you do not use TC, then I agree with Eugene.
There are some example in the SAP BCS documentation.
    Hope it helps

    Thibaud
