Does a MessageType variable store header fields (e.g.CorrId) as well?

Assume I got from a call from another BPEL process or from a JMS adapter.
The inbound message contains some header fields like a Correlation Id.
Does the incoming message type variable contain these (hidden) header fields as well?
In other words: If I copy the inbound MessageType variable to another, local, internal MessageType variable or even to the output MessageType variable (for the Callback) are the headers fields copied as well?
Peter

In short, no. Headers are not included in input/output variables. You can get/set them though. See:

  • BSP - How to set header-field "no-store"

    Hello.
I need to set the HTTP-header-field "no-store" in a BSP-application. The Problem is, that i do'nt know, how to do this.
I just do'nt know, which strings have to be passed to the method "set_header_field". The W3C-RFC gives the following information:
        Cache-Control   = "Cache-Control" ":" 1#cache-directive
        cache-directive = cache-request-directive
             | cache-response-directive

I already tried some combinations, but none of them worked. As i have already searched the SDN-Forum and google, i hope that somebody in this forum knows, how to do the trick...
    Regards
    Jörg Neumann

    Hello Cornelia.
I have tried setting the header field "max-age=0" and copied the set_header_field-instructions into the eventhandler OnInputProcessing, but this does not solve the problem - it made it even worse.
After setting the header-field "max-age=0", the browser read the page from the local cache for EVERY click on the back-button.
This seemed a little weird to me and so i started testing around...
I am of the oppinion, that the 3 function-calls are overwriting the content of the field "Cache-Control".
Adding the header-fields in the following sequence leads to the "50%-problem" described above:
    CALL METHOD response->set_header_field( name = 'Cache-Control' value  = 'max-age=0' ).
    CALL METHOD response->set_header_field( name = 'Cache-Control' value  = 'no-cache' ).
    CALL METHOD response->set_header_field( name = 'Cache-Control' value  = 'no-store' ).
Any sequence, in which "no-store" was not the last field added, made the browser read the page from the cache for every click on the back-button.
So i think, that i have to set all of the 3 fields, you suggested, and i am only setting one because every function call overwrites all Cache-Control-Directives.
If my conclusions are right, the field Cache-Control should be sort of a "structure" and i have to set 3 of its fields...

  • When-Remove-Record, does not update header field

i have master-detail form and in that there is a DB field eh_amount, which takes it value from
the computed non-db summary field m_amount
    my E_head
    eh_code
    eh_no
    eh_amount
my E_detail (tabular with 5 records displayed)
    ed_eh_code
    ed_eh_no
    ed_amount
    m_amount <---summary column (summing ed_amount)
    whenever i enter/update ed_amount , m_amount get computed properly.
    i have WVI trigger written where i store eh_amount := m_amount
    i have also written When-remove-record on e_datail block, where i again re-initialize
    eh_amount := m_amount
the detail record gets deleted and m_amount gets updated,
but the header eh_amount does not show the updated value of m_amount.
Kindly suggest to me as to where the change has to happen.

    Hi Craig..
    I am using form6i, db 10g.
I am not doing summation myself. My m_amount field is calculated field set at design time.
Summary detail block is E_detail and summary field is ed_amount.
Only after saving form, the new value for eh_amount is seen.
what i want is eh_amount should be seen updated, if while entering i delete any detail record.
in when-remove-record i am storing m_amount in eh_amount, but the new value of eh_amount
is visible only after saving the form and not when any record is deleted.

  • Bug: DocumentManager does not emit Content-Disposition header

    Good afternoon,
I have a process with an output variable of type Document: this document has a defined filename. When invoking the process, instead of downloading the file with the defined filename, I was receiving a file with a name that looks like an MD5 hash.
The fault for this lies with the DocumentManager application: it does not emit the content disposition header that would suggest to the browser what the real name of the octet-stream is. As such, without this header, the user agent will assume that the file-name is the endpoint name.
The trace of the HTTP exchange is below:
    GET http://HOST:8080/rest/services/APP/SERVICE:1.0?q=83
    Cache-Control     no-cache, must-revalidate
    Date              Wed, 17 Nov 2010 12:54:29 GMT
    Pragma            no-cache
    Transfer-Encoding chunked
    Location          http://HOST:8080/DocumentManager/docm$(NUMBER)/$(HASH)?type=$(TYPE)
    X-Powered-By      Servlet/2.5 JSP/2.1
    GET http://HOST:8080/DocumentManager/docm$(NUMBER)/$(HASH)?type=$(TYPE)
    Date              Wed, 17 Nov 2010 12:54:35 GMT
    Transfer-Encoding chunked
    Content-Type      application/vnd.ms-excel
    X-Powered-By      Servlet/2.5 JSP/2.1
The 2nd HTTP request should have included the specified header, like so:
    Content-Disposition: attachment; filename=MyExcel.xls
RFC 2183: The Content-Disposition Header Field
    Best regards,

    Hi Robert,
thanks for the reply. This is certainly a different aspect of the problem. The HTTP response that serves the dynamic portion (the one with the timestamp) has the response headers:
    HTTP/1.1 200 OK
    Date: Wed, 21 Jan 2015 18:05:53 GMT
    Server: Apache/2.2.29 (Unix)
    X-Powered-By: PHP/5.3.29
    Cache-Control: max-age=100000, public
    Keep-Alive: timeout=3, max=95
    Connection: Keep-Alive
    Transfer-Encoding: chunked
    Content-Type: application/xml
So it is marked as cacheable.
    My expectation now is this:
    - when clicking the "refresh" link in the markup, there should be no new timestamp. Reason is that the dynamic part should have been cached and I would expect the XSLT engine to use the browser's caching layer when fetching fragments
    - when hitting "F5" I would expect a revalidation request to be send to the server (e.g. max-age=0 or if-modified-since). Then the server can revalidate the fragment. In my example case the fragment would be served in any case, so I would expect a
    new timestamp
    - when hitting "CTRL+F5" I would expect a request with "cache-control: no-cache" that enforces the server side caches to always return new content. I would expect a new timestamp in this case.
    What I observe is that:
    - Chrome and FF work as expected
    - IE (10/11) will always fetch the dynamic fragment, so I will even see a new timestamp when clicking the refresh link. Also the "if-none-match" header in the "F5" case is NOT forwarded to the dynamic fragment (potentially because it is
not cached in the browser at all)

  • Variable column header in table control

Hi all, I need a variable column header text in table control. I am doing the following but is not working,
I have deleted the header field that the wizard created me thorugh a internal table, and put a I/O field instead.
I have assigned a variable in the name of this field.
In the PBO I am writing the following:
      LOOP AT   i_details
           WITH CONTROL tc_detail
           CURSOR tc_detail-current_line.
        MODULE m_modify.
      ENDLOOP.
    MODULE m_modify OUTPUT.
      IF tc_detail-current_line EQ '1'.
        var1(header column text) = 'text1'.
        var2(header column text) = 'text2'.
      ENDIF.
    ENDMODULE.
But with this is not working, the rare thing is that the first time that the screen is shown, this value is not appearing. After press Enter or some action, the value appears.
I am not doing anything in PAI. The only code that is in PAI is:
    Loop at i_details.
    endloop.
    Nothing more.

    Hi,
First just drag and drop all the fields that are to be a part of the table control. Then drag the label on the column header. Give name and text to the label.
    Regards,
    Nikhil

  • File Sender, Content Conversion - how to define variable length last field?

    XI 3.0 SP17
With a File Sender communication channel, that uses Content Conversion - how do I define a 'variable length' last field?
The scenario - the input file has four fields, of which the first three are a known fixed length, and the last (fourth, trailing) field is variable in length.
Using a Message Protocol of 'File Content Conversion', how do I define that last variable length field (field name 'WOData' below) in the Content Conversion Parameters section?
    My current parameters are:
    Recordset Structure  -  Row,*
    ignoreRecordsetName  -  true
    Row.fieldFixedLengths  -  1,12,5,99999
    Row.fieldNames  -  WOType,WONum,WOLine,WOData
I've tried the following for 'Row.fieldFixedLengths' to no avail -
    '1,12,5,*'
    '1,12,5,0'
    '1,12,5,'
    '1,12,5'
The last two were grasping at straws )
The only thing I've got to work is specifying a 'large' value for the final field (99999 above).
In addition, does anyone know if specifying a large value (e.g. 99999) for the final trailing field will give rise to performance issues when the file is being processed?
In the help for "Converting File Content in a Sender Adapter", it states -
    <Begin Quote>
    NameA.fieldFixedLengths
If you make a specification here, the system expects a character string that contains the lengths of the structure columns as arguments separated by commas.
If you also specify a separator for the columns, you must not add its length to the length of the columns.
This entry is mandatory if you have not made an entry for NameA.fieldSeparator.
    <End Quote>

<< note that fieldFixedLengths will not take any wildcard entries like *. So in these case it is ideal to provide a maximum char length.  But note that while the file is being created that many spaces will be created in your file !!! >>
    Hi Shabarish,
Yes, no wildcard is the conclusion I came to, hence my maximum )
The message size did not increase by any 'blank padding'.  When I look in [Message Display Tool (Detail Display)] 'Audit Log for Message: X'  -
2006-10-17 18:22:42 Success Channel X: Entire file content converted to XML format
2006-10-17 18:22:42 Success Send binary file  "X" from FTP server "X", size 103290 bytes with QoS EO
2006-10-17 18:22:42 Success Application attempting to send an XI message asynchronously using connection AFW.
2006-10-17 18:22:42 Success Trying to put the message into the send queue.
2006-10-17 18:22:42 Success Message successfully put into the queue.
2006-10-17 18:22:42 Success The application sent the message asynchronously using connection AFW. Returning to application.
The input flat file in non-XML format was 92,132 bytes and the message payload into XI was 103,290 bytes.
My understanding is that trailing spaces are stripped from XML nodes.

  • HTTP adapter header fields

    Hai All,
Is there any option to add header fields dynamically in the HTTp adapter header fields?
I am doing a file to HTTp scenario. In this i have to pick a file using file adapter and add some header values(header values are both static and dynamic)and using HTTP adapter place it at a target URL.Is it possible to avoid  mapping since there is only picking up of file and adding some headers to it.I can see header fields in the HTTP reseiver adapter. Can i use these to add the static and dynamiuc header fields.specifically i have two questions.
1)I want to include the source file name which is DYNAMIC as a field in the header fields in the target payload. How can this be achieved?Should i go for mapping and write a UDF for the same or is there any option to add dynamic values in the HTTP receiver adapter header fields?
2)what are these header fields for?
Can somebody explain it to me.I have gone through the Blogs like http receiver adapter configuration etc..would be of great help if anybody could explain it to me in detail.

Thanks for the replies but my question is still un answered.please guide me on how to proceed?
I am going to send a txt file.On top of the contents of the file i want these headers to be attached
In the header fields of HTTP receiver adapter configuration can i give the following format?
    Header           Value
    AS2 from:    hgdfdjfhd
    AS2 to:        fhdfjdfdfnd
    subject:       hdsjdhsdsd
will it appear in the target file as
    AS2 from:    hgdfdjfhd
    AS2 to:        fhdfjdfdfnd
    subject:       hdsjdhsdsd
    //file content starts here
    dsgdsjfgdsfggf
    hfdjhfdhfdjfdfhhdsfh
    hgdsjfgdsjfgdfdgfdg
    gfdsahdgsdfdgfgdsg
what is to be done for acheiving this kind of target file?
"If you choose to use HTTP Header fields then you can enter Field1 to Field 6 values. This will be embeded into the HTTP request as HeaderFieldOne and so on."
can this HeaderFieldOne to HeaderFieldsix be populated with any valueslike
    AS2 from: ggdhfsdf and all?
    please help me out.

  • Hoiw do I get HTTP Header fields?

    Hi,
I want to get the http header field If-None-Match. How do I get a hold of the HTTP headers for a request? I do not want to use If-Modified-Since due the the problems with out of synchronized clocks, determining time zones etc.
The content is in a BLOB, and I don't want to deliver it at all if not necessary. OWA_CACHE does not help, it still delivers the large amount of data.
I can set the ETag header, no problem, but how do I get theIf-None-Match header field returned from the browser so I can avoid unnecessary content delivery?
    Thanks,
    Larry

  • Soap receiver - owerwrite default http header fields

    Hi,
I'm using the soap receiver adapter in nosoap mode.
How can I owerwrite the default settings for the header fields in the http request?
The soap adapter will automatically set content-type = application/xml.
I would like for example set "text/xml".
    Thanks,
    Bela

    Dear Mohan,
I tryed with the keep headers option but it didn't change anything to the HTTP header fields.
In the documentation we have the following : Keep Headers
If you want to include the header of the XI message in the Web service message, set the indicator.
Does it mean that I have to create a HTTP header section in the XI message??? Do you have an example?
    Best regards,
    Bela

  • How i use header fields in soap adapter

    Hi Experts,
I need use  header fields http  in soap adapter receiver but i don't know where's the Variable Header
Do you know where i find this?
Somebody know how i put header fields http in soap adapter receiver?
    Thanks for all,

It is similar like in this blog:
    /people/william.li/blog/2006/04/18/dynamic-configuration-of-some-communication-channel-parameters-using-message-mapping
Find in the online help the values for the SOAP adapter.
You can only add additional fields, you cannot influence the standard field like content-type and content-id.

  • Query Print Layout-Linking a new header field with ref to repetitive area

    Hi,
In a query print layout, the query result based on pending items from a specific vendor is to be displayed.
On trying to insert a new database field (eg. Vendor Name), in the header area based on the pending item details in the repetitive area, the print output shows up a random vendor name (not related with the query result).
The RELATE TO property-option of the header field does not list the repetitive area fields, and the LINK TO option does not help either.
Please advise any other way to link the new db field to display the correct vendor name (contact person, address) as used in the query.
    thanks,
    Avinash
Edited by: Avinash Sashee on Jun 30, 2009 1:14 PM

Yes, the fields are part of the query.
Eg. The pending items from a specific vendor(with vendor code, name) is listed in the repetitive area of the layout. But the requirement is to have the Vendor Name and Address details in the Header portion(i.e. Letter to Vendor). Please help me on this.
    thanks,
    Avi.

  • Displaying variable no. of fields for different records

    Hi,
I have the requirement of displaying variable no of fields for different type of record in the business object. How can this be done in VC. For example i have to show an extra field for country "IN"
    Thanks in advance,
    Regards,
    Anupam

    Hi Anupam,
Please explain ur requirement more clearly.
If understanding is right ,you are creating a Table/Form with the information of a particular company ,and u r interested to add another column to this table and this column should not be visible when to select another company. Am I right?
What is the data source is it a BAPI or Query or Query View?
1)Drag and drop a table from the Query(if suppose).Or form if u want to include in the form.
2)And if u want another field(if it is to be calculated) in ur table u can have include an expression box by clicking a "+" sign in the table and specify the formula for it in the Expression field uder the Data source field in the General Tab.
3)And if u want to hide this field when u select another country then u can set a visibility condition.
4)Go to control properties window of the new field.U can get this by selecting the new added field and by clicking on configure or by left clicking the new field and then selecting the properties.
5)Inside the General Tab, u have UI Control, below that u have Hidden which is a check box, just check it.And click on condition. Then type the condition for it to be hidden. Then it is hidden.
    Please try doing the above.
Reward me with points if its helpful.
    Thanks,Regards,
    Sripriya Srinivasan.

  • Accessing Message Header fields from envelope

I am doing an interface with the RNIF adapter. They want me to pull the delivery header information, which is in the RNIF envelope, not the payload document and map it into some fields that exist in the inbound schema. Can this be done in message mapping? I would suppose that this question would apply if one wanted message header fields from the SOAP envelope also.
    Kind Regards,

  • In cl_crm_email_utility, what values to define Header Field: Reply-To

I'm working with the Web UI component BT126H_MAIL.  When i click [Send], CL_CRM_SEND_SCREEN->ON_SEND fills the attributes of CL_CRM_EMAIL_DATA (FROM, TO, COPY, BCC, SUBJECT, BODY, HEADER_FIELDS etc...) and the calls CL_CRM_EMAIL_UTILITY->send_email to send out the email.
I want FROM to be the email address of my corporate service representative, but I want to set the MIME Header field Reply-To to the email of my field service rep thats assigned.
CL_CRM_EMAIL_DATA has attributes for FROM, TO, COPY and BCC, but has no attribute for Reply-To.   Is there a way I can set the MIME Header Field: Reply-To?  Can I do this with the HEADER_FIELDS attribute?   If-so, could you describe that data I should populate HEADER_FIELDS with?
    Attributes of CL_CRM_EMAIL_DATA

    FROM
    SUBJECT
    SEND_DATE

Good idea, but that puts me back a square 1.
The business wants the email address on the FROM to be corporate sales/service rep to ensure that it gets to the customer and doesn't get filter out in some spam filter.   Our corporate domain is on the whitelist and gets perferred treatment.    Unfortunately our field sales/service reps do not have a corporate email account.  Their email domains vary with each dealership and aren't on the whitelist.
So in BT126H_EMAIL I still need to set the FROM to be the email address of my corporate sales/service rep.
Is there a way in BT126H_MAIL that I can set the MIME Header Data of Reply-to to be the email address of my field sales/serivce rep?  If so, does anyone have an example on how?
