Does it mean that I should get around 1mbps down - I don't understand the bit about the fixed broadband service.
I do not yet live at this post code yet and am aware actual download speed could be lower than the 1mb indicated.
Presumably I would be put on ADSL2+.
Please don't ask for any futher technical data as I don't have any.

I'm on a 5km+ line and get 0.8-1.2mb download with a syncrate of 1.2/1.5mb.
However no lines are the same.

Solution Landscape: why Request Check-out button could get greyed out ?

Hi,
We are on SolMan 7.0, SP15, including Ent. Edition add on.
In Solution Landscape maintenance, the Business Processes added to the solution (either directly or those borrowed from a Project) cannot be checked out to a maintenance project becasue the Request button is greyed out.
A simplistic SU53 check did not come up with any authorisation problems.
I am not able to switch on trace and take that route to detect now.
Can you please suggest as to what could be the possible reasons for this to be greyed out; also, have you used the 'Adjust to Original' button to bring latest changes in Project to Solution Landscape ?

There is one problem - I am not able to see in my SolMan the 'tickbox' you have mentioned about.
The only sub-sections I see in the Tab there are:
(1) Monitoring
(2) Knowledge Warehouse Information
(3) Copy Criteria for Document
(4) Session Languages
(5) Assigned Maintenace Project
If it's feasible for you, can you please let me have a look at your screenshot as to how the sections look like. I wonder if there is any component missing to be installed.

Thanks for your pointer again. I got a screenshot from a different friend (on another SolMan instance). Came to know of where these check boxes should occur.
Later, I found them in my instance too - the browsing scroll bar was the culprit. One had to go to the very bottom, move the scroll to the right extreme and then move further down. Really a silly mistake.
But, without your help, I wouldn't have know that there were such check boxes at the first place

Problem with Material Confirmation (Availability Check)

Dear All,
There is a problem with the availability check. when i place order system does availability check and confirms the order. Now say for example i have 100qty of material - X and i created order for 50qty, system confirmed and then i went on creating orders for this , say i have created orders for it for 150qty, so system has confirmed 100 and 50 on future date.
Now when i try to do the delievry for the first order(50 qty), system gives me an error that "0" qty is available.
Can you please tell me what may be the reason for this.

You can also check in T-code Co09 of the availability. Best and easy one to read for me has been MD04 Transaction code.
What system does in Sales Order is that it plans the requirement taking into consideration Material availability and if material doesn't exist but sees that in a few days in the future material will be available so system confirms it. Note that physically the material may not even be present. You find out if you really have physical stock in the delivery. For example in the sales order in the future the system sees that a Purchase Order will take place so system confirms it. Even though physically you have not even done a goods receipt for that PO. So any Sales Order which has been created before holds that reservation. So if you make a PO goods receipt in the future all those sales order has taken up this stock even. So the new sales order you created may not even have physical stock present or available as back order exists.
If you delete Deliveries that have not had PGI done to them this will take the requirement out of the list of Deliveries you can see this in MMBE if you scroll to the right. You can also do reason for rejection for other old orders to take out reservation in MD04.

Availability check for Alternate items

Hi PP Guys,
In the BOM alternative item group has been maintained with the parameters of Priority, Strategy "2" language probability 100%.
Alternative item group with the strategy " 2 ", it will check for full required quantity of the 1st priority item while doing availability check in the production order, if there is any stock deficit it will check for 2nd priority item for full required quality.
But the requirement is, if there is any stock deficit with the 1st priority item, then quantity available with the 1st priority item should be confirmed and the balance shortfall quantity should check with the 2nd priority item and accordingly it should confirm the requirements.
Please suggest me, is there any way to map the above requirement.

This is not possible in standard SAP. SAP has provided only two options for this. The one which you explained and the other in which you define the percentage of usage probability.

order the system is considering stock provided to vendor.It should consider only plant stock.
              Iam using Checking rule as PP01 & Availability check as 02.
              Suggest me how to exclude this stock provided
to vendor ahile doing availability check against production

Sales Order - Availability check for components

Hi All,
I have 2 parts to my qns.
1. When a sales order is created for a component, with a req date, the system checks & informs if the mtl can be provided on the req date & if not proposes a new date - May i know which checking rule is used & also what all does the system check for?
2. A component say 'ABC' is used internally for production purpose & also sold as a spare part. A sales order for this component is created with a req dt. say 1.3.2008. The system commits the stock to the sales order. A production order is created later with a req. dt for 'ABC' say 1.2.2008. So when i carry out a collective availability check for the plant with ATP checking rule & with availability check reset indicator ticked, i believe the system should reset the commitments made to the sales order & assign the stock to the production order, but it is not happening so. Once the commitment is made to the sales order, it is not resetting, how can i change this behaviour?

As we know, availability check is controlled by the combination of checking rule and the checking grp.
U can see this at OVZ9 Screen. checking grp is proposed from material master Sales org 2 view or MRP2 views.
In the OVZ9 screen itself, we are setting what are all the stocks the system has to include when doing availability check.
The checking rule specifies the scope of the availability check for the respective transactions in sales and distribution by specifying precisely which stocks, receipt and issue elements should be taken into account during the availability check.
Every checking rule is allocated to a checking group: together these two elements determine the final inspection requirements. In addition, the checking rule includes a specification whether or not an availability check should take into account the replenishment lead time.
Currently, the checking rule is predefined in SD.
while answering to the second question, i think the system carries out the availability check again at the time of delivery, provided u need to maintain the availabililty check indicator at req. class level.

Can anyone help me, about this issue . What i need to do to procedure to check availability for material and customers ?
I have a problem , all material have a expired date ( i work in a drink company) , and for this all products have a date limit for delivery (period of useful product life) , but this date it can be changed for each customer.
We have customer with one moth and another customer with differents (period of useful product life), and a priority for each customer.
Well when i check availability of material i need to have a control of this period of useful product life, in order to assign confirmed quantity for each customer.

Yes products use batch funcionality and i have a new table for customer / product with useful product life.
For exemple :
Product XXX with 365 days for Total Shelf Life .
Have two customers with differents % of Total Shelf Life, customer AAA 33% and customer BBB 50%.
Result:
Customer AAA for product XXX need 120 days for availity Check
Customer BBB for product XXX need 183 days for availity Check
Where i could introduce search strategy for each customer ?
Do you know user exit i need to change for availity check , in order to introduce my new table.

Well, I installed the latest iTunes this AM, works perfectly. Although for some reason it did lock up after playing a song today.

No, it isn't.
The issue you are experiencing is one that has occurred in multiple versions of iTunes, a simple search would have revealed this.
A simple search was conducted, no one seemed to have an answer. Do you always adopt such a haughty attitude? Or was I just lucky.

I followed the instructions when I plugged in my iPhone 4s to do a backup on my Mac. I was then prompted to update carrier settings by going to Settings>General>About. I did as instructed and nothing was new, even though I was advised to update as soon as I plugged into my Mac for a backup. Does this just mean that it tells all iPhone users to check for any available updates just in case ?

Updating carrier settings isn't the same as updating iOS. You don't get any new or different features. It just affects, ostensibly for the better, how your phone connects with your carrier's network.

In itunes if "Songs" is selected a column with a Check Sign header is displayed. What does this column mean?

In itunes with "Songs" selected there is a column labled with a header which is simply a check sign. If you select "View" a pulldown menu titled "View Options" appears and one has the option to either display (or not display) the "Checked" column. I get that. But what does it mean when a song is shown as "Checked" versus not being "Checked" That part I don't understand. Is it used in conjunction with another operator? I understand columns labled "Name", "Artist", "Alumn" but "Check Sign" is new to me. Please help.

Try installing Perian or VLC. Some AVIs require a codec which simply isn't available for Mac OS X.
