Does BO3.1 support FTPS (secured ftp)

Hi,
There is a requirent to schedule a crystal report file to FTPS server in BO 3.1.
Does BO 3.1 support FTPS?
Is it supported BO4.0 or 4.1?
Regds,
Samson

Hello,
as Valdrin pointed out is it not supported as per default.
Der was a Workaround available in XI Rel.2. You can try if you get it running under XI 3.x/BI 4.x.

    Hi,

    Rao,
The File Adapter does not support SFTP (File Transfer over SSH). It supports FTPS.
U may view this here at point 28 in SAP Note: 821267
Just an add-on, if u want to view the difference between FTPS (that XI supports) and SFTP, please refer this link

  • Does SES11g support ACL security model in ECM11g

    hi Experts:
Does SES11g support ACL security model in ECM11g?
All information I got is negative, but need some comfirmation, sometimes documentation is not accurate.
If the answer is yes, could you give me a doc url I can reference?
    Best regards

    Hi
I think that you can have the ACL security enabled on SES searching as well . When creating the source on SES there is a option which mentions if the source's ACL security is to be used or not .
So if that option is selected then I believe the same can be used on ses searching as well .
Try it and let me know how it works .

  • Need a hint for home office / 871 does not support port-security - FPM ?

    Hi,
i want to realize the following setup:
    - Central Site 871 with Internet Connection and static IP
    - Home office 871 with Internet Connection and static IP. On that home office router, there should be 2 Vlans: 1 for the office work and one for the user's private PC. All Traffic from the "office" Vlan is being put into a VPN to the central site. All Traffic on the other interface is being natted and goes straight to the internet.
To minimize security issues, i tried to configure port-security, so that the user cannot connect with his private PC to the office LAN ports and vice versa. Unfortunately, port-security seems not to be supported on the 871 (advanced ip services image).
Now i looked for an alternative...and came over to FPM (flexible packet matching).
If i understood right, you can classify packets for example by their source MAC address and if this field matches a specific value (the mac of the work pc), packets can be dropped by a policy.
Of course i cannot avoid that the user connects the work pc together with his private pc (this is then related to the OS Security to keep out viruses, worms, trojans, etc). But i could/want to restrict the internet access with the work pc through "normal" Internet access - the users should not be able to do that (must use the company's proxy).
    I did the follwing config:
    class-map type access-control match-any c2
    match start l2-start offset 48 size 6 regex "0xabcd1234fedc"
match field ETHER source-mac regex "abcd1234fedc"
    policy-map type access-control p2
    class c2
    drop
    interface Vlan1
    ip address 192.168.20.1 255.255.255.0
    ip nat inside
    ip virtual-reassembly
    service-policy type access-control input p2
    service-policy type access-control output p2
As this feature is quite new, i'm not familiar with it's syntax.
I also tried to use "string" instead of regexp, but i'm still able to connect the office pc to the private Lan and i am able to access the "Internet" (currently it's only setup in a lab).
As i understood so far, the offset is the value in bits, and size is in bytes. is that correct?
Has anyone yet some experience with FPM or maybe any hint for me how to realize the requested setup with the 871 routers?
    bets regards,
    Andy

For the FPM feature to work you will need PHDF files for the protocols you want to scan for to be loaded on your routers. The files can be downloaded from cisco's website. In your case you will have to download ether.phdf file.

  • Does iCloud support sharing secure notes?

I use secure notes on my Mac to store sensitive data like CC#, SSN, etc.  Is there a method to share these notes with my iOS devices?
    Thanks

I believe it only supports syncing with other Macs, not iOS devices.  There are, of course, other apps that will accomplish this, such as 1 Password.  Or, you could create password-protected documents using MS Word and upload them to a Dropbox account, then open and view them on your devices using the free Dropbox app.

  • Can FTP Task FTPS?

I need to FTP-SSL.  Can I use FTP Task do FTPS? and How?
    Thank you.
    newbie

    we use SFTP.
By default SSIS FTP task doesnt support SFTP. But there are free clients like WinSCP which can invoked from SSIS
We use Execute Process Task for the same. The WinSCP client requires a script file where you pass the required commands (put, get etc) for transfer of files from and to server.
This is a blog I wrote on the same for setting filename etc dynamically to do SFTP

  • How can I find out the server port for a secured FTP site and creating a FTP Connection Manager

I have to create a FTP Task to go out and get the files that our 3rd party vendor will be dropping on a secured FTP site. I have all the credentials to access that Secured FTP Site and have successfully done so through FileZilla.
Now I need to set-up a FTP Task to go out and get their files and in so doing create a FTP Connection Manager. Is there any way I can determine the
Server Port number from the Secured FTP site? I let it default to 21 and tried the Test Connect and it failed.
Thanks for your review and am hopeful for a reply.

    Hi ITBobbyP,
SSIS has a built in FTP task, while this only works for the FTP protocol, it doesn’t support SFTP. But there are some free clients like WinSCP and
SSIS SFTP Task Control Flow Component
available in the CodePlex which can invoked from SSIS.

  • SSIS and Secured FTP Commands to GET a Remote File using wildcards

So my biggest caveat here is dealing with wildcards! For the life of me I cannot find any good examples of SSIS and scripting that uses FTP wildcards to GET certain Files. In a nutshell, here's what I need to do...
Query a SQL Server Database which has a parsed File Name, the first 50 characters of the file name.
The Query "Result Set" is put into an Object Variable User::SQLServerFileList
I then utilize a "Foreach Loop Container" which reads the User::SQLServerFileList and puts it into Variable User::SQLServerFileNm...which is again the first 50 characters of the File Name
Within the "Foreach Loop Container", I then utilize an "Expression Task" which builds a variable User::RemoteFileLookup which is a concatenation of the User::RemoteFolderPath + User::SQLServerFileNm + the wildcard *(Variable
    User::RemoteWildCard)
I then try and utilize a "FTP Task" to use that concatenated Variable to go and GET the Filename but every time I try, it does not like what I'm sending via the "FTP Task"
Error: 0x0 at TF Secure FTP Task, ExecuteTask Failed:: Illegal characters in path.
I realize I might have to do something like this via C#.
My biggest challenge is providing the GET Command via the Remote FTP Site with a parsed Filename and utilizing a wildcard.
    mc7i1231_20140227_050114_27_05_02_09*.999
And the Filename that exists on the FTP Server is...
    mc7i1231_20140227_050114_27_05_02_09_x12_a43419452ca844a9b8a00f61e655dca3.x12-20140303180032.999
Can any gurus out there PLEASE help me out???
Thanks in advance for your review and am hopeful for a reply.
    PSULionRP

    Hi PSULionRP,
    According to the document
FTP Task, we can read that:
The FTP task supports the ? and * wildcard characters in paths. This lets the task access multiple files. However, you can use wildcard characters only in the part of the path that specifies the file name. For example, C:\MyDirectory\*.txt is a valid
    path, but C:\*\MyText.txt is not.
So, when you use expression tobuild the variable RemoteFolderPath, make sure the evaluated value of the expression conforms to the above rule.

  • Secure FTP in SAP XI

    Hello,
I have seen that there is an FTP adapter in SAP XI. We currently have guidelines to use Secure FTP (SFTP) for FTP communication over an 'unsecure' network.
We would like at least 128bit encryption, preferably 1024bit key.
Can SAP XI also support this (and how)? Or is there a possibility with third party adapters?
    Best regards

While the File/FTP adapter does not support secure FTP, there are a couple of options for protecting FTP communications.
    1. Develop a custom FTPS adapter.  There are some good commercially-available Java libraries that implement FTPS; I've found the Secure FTP Bean from Glub Tech (www.glub.com) to be reliable and compatible with many common FTPS servers.  It's called a bean, but it really is just a basic Java API library.  (It's shareware -- free to download for prototyping, $500 for internal use.)
You do need to understand the various options in the FTPS specification to get this to work.  Reading IETF RFC 2228 will help.
    2. Use the FTP adapter, and encrypt/decrypt the file contents through a user exit in the adapter.  Something on the FTP server side will have to do the same.

  • SAP XI support SFTP and FTPS?

    Hi Gurus,
I would like to find out if SAP XI supports both SFTP and FTPS. If yes, how do I perform the configuration?
    Thanks in advance.

    Business Case:
In many implementations Business requirement is to "secure" the file/data transfer between XI and any third-party system. So there is a need of secured connection between XI/PI and any file based third-party legacy systems.
Following solutions are proposed to cater secure connection between XI/PI and any third party systems.
    1) SFTP (Secure File Transfer Protocol)
"SSH File Transfer Protocol" or SFTP is a network protocol that provides file transfer and manipulation functionality over any reliable data stream. It is typically used with the SSH-2 protocol to provide secure file transfer. SFTP encrypts the session, preventing the casual detection of username, password or anything that is being transmitted. One key benefit to SFTP is its ability to handle multiple secure file transfers over a single encrypted pipe. By using a single encrypted pipe, there are fewer holes in the corporate firewall.
    2) FTPS (FTP over SSL)
FTPS (FTP-SSL) is a real ftp that uses TSL/SSL to encrypt the control session and if required the data session. With FTPS, the control session is always encrypted, but the data session may not be always encrypted. FTPS is a file transport layer on top of SSL. SSL, or Secure Sockets Layer, is a method by which an encrypted u2018pipe' or tunnel is established between the FTP client and FTP server. Once the secure tunnel has been established (which is done using 128-bit encryption techniques), standard FTP is used to transfer data over the secure connection.
Feasibility of SFTP and FTPS in XI:
    SFTP:
As per the latest SAP PI/XI support pack, it does not support SFTP via File Adapter.
So alternative approach to cater this requirement from XI is to make use of Unix Script at OS level to transfer the files from/to third-party systems.
    Inbound Interface - i.e. third-party system ->XI->SAP:
File is transferred to a folder in SAP XI landscape from the third-party legacy system using UNIX Script with secured protocol. Once the file is ready in the XI landscape, File Adapter will poll this directory and file is picked up by NFS protocol.
    Outbound Interface u2013 i.e. SAP->XI->third-party system:
XI is responsible for writing a file into a folder in the XI landscape. These files are transferred to the third-party system by executing UNIX scripts with secured protocol i.e. via sFTP.
    Pre-Requisites:
Public key should be exchanged between external systems and the PI system.
UNIX shell script has to be developed and scheduled.
    Advantages:
    Highly Secured.
Ability to handle multiple secure file transfers over a single encrypted pipe .By using a single encrypted pipe, there are fewer holes in the corporate firewall.
    Disadvantages:
    Two-Step process i.e. XI>Temporary folder>External System and vice-versa
Files have to be temporarily stored in XI server.
Multiple failure points i.e. XI and Unix script execution
Maintenance of an external UNIX script.
Difficulty in monitoring the execution of the shell script as it cannot be monitored thru XI.
Need to generate keys and install it in the SFTP site as a pre-requisite i.e. SFTP clients must install keys on the server.
SFTP uses keys rather than certificates. This means that it can't take advantage of the "chains of trust" paradigm facilitated through Certificate Authorities.
Files from the XI server should be deleted/archived in a periodic manner to increase the disc space so that it will increase the performance.
Note: UNIX shell Script can be executed as a background job u2018or' can be triggered from SAP XI through OS command at File adapter level.
FTPS (File Transfer Protocol Using SSL/TLS):
This is a built-in feature of File adapter in XI. But SAP Java Cryptographic Toolkit must be deployed as a prerequisite. (Refer to note https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/821267 Question 28). By default following ports are used:
Implict FTPs 990 (Control) and 989 (Data)
Explicit FTPs 21 (Control) and 20 (Data)
Both use cases can be combined with active and passive mode.
    Advantages:
Direct transfer of files to/from third-party systems. It is not required to store the files in the XI server temporarily.
Built-In feature from XI File adapter
No extra effort in development and maintenance of Unix Script.
    Centralized Monitoring tool from XI
FTPS uses certificates and therefore can take advantage of "chains of trust" paradigm facilitated through Certificate Authorities. This paradigm makes it possible for two entities to establish a trust relationship without directly exchanging security information, which is important for some applications.
    Disadvantages:
Requires opening multiple ports forenabling SSLin the firewall. So there are multiple holes in the corporate firewall.
Not every FTP server supports FTPS and many that do, require a configuration change to activate the FTPS protocol extension.
Cryptographic toolkit should be installed in XI system though it is not very complex or expensive.
    Conclusion:
Though SFTP seems more secure as it works through one port, FTPS is easier to configure, monitor and maintain from XI point of view. However, the decision depends on many parameters like, cost/effort, flexibility in use, ease of maintenance, company security policy, failure possibilities etc.

  • XI3.0 Secure FTP in both directions

    Hi!
We have an XI 3.0 system running behind the firewall of the DMZ. Our XI scenarios require to automatically:
    - pull files from FTP servers standing in the internet
    - push files to FTP servers standing in the internet
in a way that is as secure as possible, because the data to be transferred are critical and confidential.
And all that should happen completely automated without any human intervention (except for the case of problems).
As far as I know XI 3.0 does not support SFTP and additionally we do not want to open any direct channel between the XI and the "rest of the world".
Therefore I think we need some kind of software running in the DMZ that automatically handles the file transfers between our XI and the world outside - ideally it should also be possible that the XI FTP Adapter can be used to trigger automated data transfers.
Has anybody some kind of experience concerning our challenge. If you reply to this posting please take in mind that I am NOT a security expert but only a stupid XI consultant.
    Thanx for any hints!

    Volker

    Hi,
in one of our projects we did something like this:
    XI - SFTP
but we had to program it in java
(java proxy with www for configuration)
there's no standard way unless you'd find
a solution which could be started by
an operation system command from FTP adapter
and do what you want - SFTP transfer
you cna always try some of the third party
    xi adapters:

Can anyone help me answer whether Robohelp has a secure ftp (sftp) or secure http connection protocols?  it only lists ftp or http, but not specifying if secure? Thanks.

    Hello again
First off, sorry for confusing anyone with the WYSIWYG reference. Failed attempt at humor. Ah, live and learn.
Can you expound on what you mean when you say: But there does seem to be “disagreement” regarding whether RH supports HTTPS?
If you are only referring to this thread, are you sensing "disagreement" because Willam said you can serve content to users?
Here's the deal. I sort of "read between the lines" with your post and made an assumption and it seems I may have needed to ask you to clarify before tossing an answer out. The assumption I made was based on your statement of: it only lists ftp or http
That made me believe you were referring to the Publish section in the Single Source Layout properties. (shown below)
This dialog allows you to specify a protocol used to UPLOAD your generated content to a server.
What Willam was referring to was the END USERS viewing the content AFTER it has been uploaded.
    Cheers... Rick

  • Recommend a good secure FTP client

I am currently using Fetch 4.0.3 and it works well, but it will not allow me a secure connection. As a result, my password is NOT protected, and my website has been compromised. I have been advised to change my password, which I have done, but still, I can't log on with encryption. Not sure why, but "enable encryption" is grayed out and not available.
Is there a better FTP client that I could switch to. One that will assure a secure connection? What does everyone recommend?

    Hi Rob--
I'll second the suggestion of Transmit or Cyberduck.
As for Fetch, there's secure then there's secure. Fetch 4.0.3 only supports secure passwords if your server supports the right kind of authentication (Kerberos). Perhaps what the people who were advising you was to use SFTP, which is a kind of secure FTP using SSH, which is very strong if you have a good password.
I'm pretty sure Cyberduck supports SFTP. I know Transmit does, and Fetch 5.0 and later supports SFTP, too.
