Does Samsung Supports JSR-82

Hi All,
We are doing Client - Server Application Using JSR-82 bluetooth API.The Application works fine in Nokia and Motorola mobiles.Unfortunately its not working in Samsung D840 model.I successfully installed and try to launch the application it gives "Error" and Exists the application.
Also i written some simple j2me application that displays the bluetooth address in form.
when i try to launch the application it hangs in opening screen of the application.but when i commented the LoaclDevice.getLocalDevice().getBluetoothAddress() line it displays the empty form. The code is
try
Class.forName("javax.bluetooth.LocalDevice");
form.append("Success");
form.append(LocalDevice.getLocalDevice().getBluetoothAddress());
catch (Exception e) {
// TODO: handle exception
e.printStackTrace();
form.append("Failed"+e);
Whether any settings needed or JSR-82 supported by this mobile.Please any one can help me to fix this problem.
Thanks,
Farook.

Yes. You may implement JSR-82 and a communication for your dongle such as USB or Serial Port. But it already exists too. You can research for ATINAV, ROCOCCO, and others. A nice example of this is in www.benhui.net ; BlueCove example.
Bests regards
Luis
Hello everybody.
As far as I know I can use JSR-82 API to build a MIDP
with Bluetooth support.
However, I was wondering if I can build a j2se using
the JSR-82 API.
If not, is any other API library that support
building j2se Bluetooth applications?
Do I have to use TCP Socket connection(Java object)
up to bluetooth hardware?
I really appreciate any help.

    What ipad,  which model samsung?  Are you attempting HDMI, VGA, or an RGB connection.  Ipad 2 supports mirroring into an HDMI at an output of 1080.  Ipad 1 is limited to only a few apps capable of the output, such as Youtube.
    page64,65 of the latest ipad manual has more details.
    Samsungs are good and should switch with the input - but sometimes you will have to select from the menu manually.
    If in doubt, contact the customer support at samsung UK.
    Also check - Settings/Video, that you have it enabled for Home Sharing.  Apple Id  which will be your .me.com  email plus your apple ID password.  I am not too sure about  this as I cannot remember the exact order I set things up in - but page 89 of the manual references Home Sharing for sharing ipad/itunes content on a home pc/mac - so I would think it applies to content relayed to a tv or monitor too.

  • X201s Samsung SDD firmware does not support TRIM

    The Samsung SDD that came in my x201s does not support TRIM. I am wondering anyone know is the new DSRD 2.1.0 Firmware update will work with the Samsung SDD in my x201s? This is the Samsung firmware update that supports TRIM.
    It says the driver update is for the VBM18C1Q driver, but my driver for the Samsung VBM1EL1Q.
    Thanks.

    You could just use the generic Windows 7 AHCI driver instead...it supports TRIM

    That message is just a standard one issued, mainly for Windows users, you can disregard it if you didn't install any anti-virus. (OS X has one installed by Apple that doesn't interfere)
    It's just some forms of anti-malware are really paranoid and lock the entire machine down. (like Norton)

  • Mac mini on a LCD TV which does not support interlace mode

    Dear all,
    I am going to buy a new Mac mini and I wish to connect it to a Samsung LCD TV 37A656A1F (serie 6.
    The TV manual says that it does not support the interlace mode. I then deduce that it supports progressive mode only.
    My question: Does it mean that this LCD TV model cannot be used as a monitor for a Mac mini?
    Please give a help to me

    All computer monitors are progressive mode displays. Therefore all computers, including the mini, are very comfortable running progressive mode. It is their natural state. It is more a problem when a computer has to run interlace mode in order to support a display. That is when there is trouble. So I think you have nothing to worry about if your Samsung runs in progressive mode.

  • A note To Samsung Support

    I wrote Samsung asking about the possibilty of a Gingerbread update.  I've posted both their & my responses.  FWIW and it's not much, here is what they had to say about it.  The only value in my response was it allowed me to vent.  Seems like the longer I have the phone, the more problems I experience.

    when is the Samsung Charge expect to get the Gingerbread update? I've experienced many issues that mostly likely will be solved with this OS update, especially since it's been available prior to the phone's release. Can you help?
    My response to Samsung:
    It's such a shame that Samsung chooses the path of avoidance when asked such a direct question.  Though honestly I was prepared for this as many on the VZW forums warned of such as response. There wouldn't be any confusion whatsoever even if your response hedged a bit.  Regardless, this answer is a disappointment just as my four Charge handsets.
    Please take a moment and glance through some of the many issues that are associated with the Charge as it seems Samsung is more interested in releasing the latest and greatest rather then supporting the devices already released.  For your convenience I've included a link.  http://community.vzw.com/t5/DROID-Charge-by-Samsung/bd-p/Charge  So many users are having numerous issues with this device that frankly it feels as if we've all been ignored while other manufactures have been diligent in supporting previously released devices - HTC & Motorola in particular.Please note that it's not the fact I'm having issues that's troublesome but rather the seemingly non-existent support from Samsung that's the real issue.  Like in life, calms seas do not make for a good Captain and at the moment this ocean is very rough.  If there was some "hope" that the problems were being dealt with and that help was on the way, it would be an entirely direct story.  However like in politics, such complaints fall unto deaf ears and in the end, we all vote with our wallets.   So to be perfectly clear (read NO Confusion) when my contract is up, be assured I will not purchase another Samsung device.
    Regrettably Yours,

    I agree with you, what is confusing to me and what is only confusing is that there is work going on for this device, the leaks are proof, but no communication about it at all and denying it is frustrating. What is worrying me is that there have been leaks of gingerbread for the fascinate, but it still does not have it. So I am thinking we are going to end up like the fascinate, but some communication from verizon our samsung sure would be nice and end my confusion as to why there are leaks of it but no updates to a "flagship" droid phone and then denying it is being worked on. Just tell us it is and maybe why it is taking so long, I can understand that, I can live with that. Just be straight up about it, denying it and providing no information is what is frustrating. If gingerbread is too much much for this phone just say so, our if there are still problems to be worked out, just say so. How about just a few bug fixes for an update then when you can get to it?? A lil support of this phone would be great.

    I have Samsung S8000 Jet. firefox mobile does not support this phone.

    Mozilla will not be making a version of Firefox for that phone, it uses a proprietary operating system developed by Samsung. The mobile version of Firefox is currently only being developed for certain Android based phones and for some phones that use the Maemo OS.

    Does N9 support this kind of URL: ?
    server_name:XXXXX/servlet/traveler
    Where server_name is the server name, XXXXX is the port number, and then the server url.
    At least in Nokia E72 and E6 it doesn't work (but i tested and iPhone 3GS and  Samsung Galaxy SII and it works fine in both).

    Sorry for taking this long to reply, I was out of town.
    I finally got it working with the latest catalyst. Video and everything. I am posting my xorg in case anyone finds it helpfull. I haven't done any tweaks and it is far from complete but it is working as base project.

  • MW1 does not support Apt-X technology

    Currently, MW1 does not support Apt-X technology.
    Compare with Samsung HS3000,  MW1 do not support Apt-X technology for better sound quality. (lossless)
    I'm looking forward MW1 to support this technology by firmware upgrade.
    Thanks.

    I'll forward this feedback internally.

  • Does the later 2009 MacBook support the Apple DVI to Video Adapter (s-video). I want to connect it to an old tv which does not support HDMI. Any suggestions?

    I have a late 2009 MacBook which I want to connect to an old LG tv. The tv does not support HDMI it only has the (red, while, and yellow) ports. Sorry I dunno the exact name for it.
    So I was thinking of using the Apple Mini DVI to Video Adapter (s-video), link below...
    http://store.apple.com/Catalog/dk/Images/M9319_screen.jpg
    But I'm afraid that the MacBook might not support the adapter.
    Can anyone give me a solution for this? Is there an alternative way of doing this? I'm kinda new to apple display adapters.

    The Late 2009 model 6,1 has a Mini DisplayPort not the Mini-DVI. To see which model you have go to the Apple in the upper left corner and select About This Mac, then click on More Info. When the System Profiler comes up check the Model Identifier.
    Composite is the name for the red, white and yellow RCA plugs on your TV or red, white and S-Video plugs. If you want to use the Composite input on your TV there’s no Mini DisplayPort to Composite. You’ll have to get a Mini DisplayPort to VGA adapter http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_ss_i_1_19?url=search-alias%3Delectronics&field -keywords=mini+displayport+to+vga&sprefix=mini+Displayport+to and a VGA Adapter to TV S-Video RCA Out Cable for PC Video. http://www.amazon.com/VGA-Adapter-S-Video-Cable-Video/dp/B000Y7T5UU/ref=sr_1_7?s =electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1316369974&sr=1-7
    Only the Yellow plug or the S-Video plug for video will work. For sound you'll also need audio cables to the TV using a 3.5mm stereo headphone jack to RCA sound plugs. You attach it from the headphone jack of your MacBook to the appropriate input plugs on your TV  http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=min i-dvi&x=9&y=13#/ref=nb_sb_ss_i_2_19?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=macboo k+audio+cable&sprefix=macbook+audio+cable&rh=i%3Aaps%2Ck%3Amacbook+audio+cable

  • IE11/Win 8.1 error 'Your client does not support opening this list in windows explorer'

    I hoping someone might be able to help with this frustrating issue.
    I work on a project where we are using various versions of on-line SharePoint (2007/O365).  In order to quickly drag and drop folders we need to often open the document libraries by using the 'open in windows explorer view'.
    Using the same device, on occassion this works.  But often it gives a rather unhelpful message 'Your client does not support opening this list in Windows Explorer'.
    I've searched for this issue over the net and confirm that the sites are added to the 'trusted' sites area and that the 'remember you credientials' is checked on logging in.However, the searches do not seem to apply to IE11/Win8.1 or on-line version of sharepoint
    (the suggested hot fix is not suitable)
    Only this morning, using the same device I was able, for a short while to open in explorer view, and then for no apparent reason, it began to display the error message.  I had changed nothing regarding settings or even closed the browser.
    Do you have any support/ideas/fixes on how to resolve this.
    Many thanks
    val

    Hi Val,
    sometimes an answer can be found on the internet by typing the error message from your computer into your favourite search engine.
    eg.
    http://www.bing.com/search?q=your+client+does+not+support+opening+this+list+in+windows+explorer&form=IE10TR&src=IE10TR&pc=HPNTDFJS

    follow the directions given above.... you need to add the domains to your Intranet sites list, not the Trusted sites list.
    Perhaps you already have it mapped to your intranet zone....in which case make sure that you have unchecked "Enable Enhance Protected Mode" on the Intranet  zone dialog in Internet Options.
    If this is happening 'randomly' on client machines, then users are probably changing their internet security settings in Internet Options. Ensure they are accepting the default.... Internet Options>Security tab, click "Reset all zones to default".
    Consult with your system administrators to find out if they are applying a custom security template for the Intranet zone... It may be removing the sharepoint domains from the client Intranet zone's domains lists.

    Hello i am using TimeMachine to back-up entire Mac image (data + system) on an usb-local drive. I would like (on top of it) add a specific plan to back up some files on a remote network drive. Does TimeMachine support multiple back-up plans ? How ?

    Time Machine is capable of backing up to multiple locations, and can be used to back up to both a local hard drive and a networked drive (provided that that drive is in or connected to a Time Capsule or another Mac that is sharing it over the network). The catch, though, is that you can't specify different things to back up to different destinations. Whatever you exclude from Time Machine backups is excluded from ALL backups, and whatever is included is included on all.
    So, get a large enough drive that you can back up everything you want in all locations, or use something else for maintaining the network backup.

  • AS I  FOUND OUT LATE, LION DOES NOT SUPPORT ROSETTA, WHICH SUPPORTS QUICKEN AND CLASSIC AOL, AND MANY OTHER APPS. CAN I TAKE LION AWAY AND GO BACK TO SNOW LEOPARD?

    I found out after the install of LION, that it does not support Rosetta, which runs Quicken and the classic AOL software and a myriad of other apps.
    Can I go back to Snow Leopard? Is there a way to retrieve my thousands of saved E mails, which are saved on my Mac?
    I still see the filing cabinet with my screen name but cannot get them to open.
    Please help! Lion may roar, but the fact it does not support apps like quicken means it purrs.

    I had the Apple store wiped out my hard drive and I restore my last hard drive downloard by first placing Snow leopard DVD in the DVD drive and holding "C" when turning on the machine then I follow the instructions. I am back on snow leopard and trying out two finance software to replace Quicken for mac 2007. I am trialing Quicken essentials and ibank. They are both compatable with LION. So when I am ready will download Lion again. Also, Micorsoft Office needs to be 2011 version for it to work on Lion
