Does SAP Web AS ABAP support automatic checking of revocation lists (CRL)?
Hi,
At my customer we have the scenario that X.509 client certificates (smartcards) are to be used (for authentication) to access CRM Web Interaction Center from a web browser. As I understand it, this basic scenario is supported.
But I can find any information that the ABAP stack supports automatic checking against an external CRL. Rather it seems that the valid certificates must be maintained (manually) in the CRM server, which is unwanted by the customer.
Does anyone know of ways to get automatic checking in the ABAP stack? (using the Online Certificate Status Protocol OCSP, or other method)??
We also have Portal installation and JAVA stack in the system landscape, and I understand there are ways to perform CRL checks with SAP Java?
Ideas anyone?
Thanks,
Lars
No, in Web AS 6.20 there is an older version of the ABAP stack without the feature of Web Dynpro for ABAP. On the Java stack Web Dynpro for Java comes with release 6.40 which is supported of course.

Implementaion of ADS on SAP Web AS ABAP
Dear All
We have an ECC6.0 setup on Oracle Solaris as SAP Web AS ABAP only. We now want to install & configure ADS (Adobe Document Services) on it. Is it possible to do so on ABAP only system or do we need to have ABAP + Java system. In case, we can, can someone provide me link for the same.
Thanks
Lokesh.Thanks Markus. I am now trying to implement ADS in another server which ahs ABAP+Java installation in same box with SAP Netweaver 7.0.
I have done all the steps as per the configuration guide and am detailing teh same here. However, I am unable to run the application. Please help.
I am detailing the steps taken as per the configuration guide.
1. Checking the IIOP service - This is working fine as per the guide.
2. I have chosen to use Basic authentication
3. Executing FP_TEST_00 fails
4. Executing FP_PDF_TEST_00 did show me the version infomation initially but after changing the
ADSUSER password in SU01, it has started showing a username and password box which doesnot accept
ADSUSER and the new password.
5. I have created a user ADSUSER as system user and assigned a password to it. I have created
ADSCALLERS role and assigned it to ADSUSER.
6. I have created an ABAP connection as per the guide. However, in test connection, I am prompted for
a user and password. Specifying ADSUSER doesnot work. However specifying j2ee_admin user gives the
test result as Found.
7. On running Test for user in http://<server>:50000/AdobeDocumentServices/Config in browser, the
ADSUSER or ADS_AGENT password doesnot get accepted. j2ee_admin user and password gives the error
"User J2EE_ADMIN does not have access to method rpData."
8. Even in Visual Administrator, I have checked the ADSUSER to be under ADSCallers group. Also the
ADSUSER is mapped to ADSCaller security role. However, one point noticable is that when I try to
change the password of ADSUSER in user management under ADSCallers, it doesnot allow me to do so.
Here I am in doubt as in SU01, I have changed the password while in Visual Admin, it is still the initial
one. Is this conflicting.
9. In the link http://<AS Java Server>:50000 ->User Management, I am unable to set Security policy
field to Technical user and it is grayed out even after clicking modify. Am also not able to delete the
ADSUSER from it.
10. In visual administrator, I have setup the basic authentication too in web services security node and
have activated the service throught the deploy node
11. I have created a user ADS_AGENT as service user through SU01 and defined password for it and
assigned role SAP_BC_FP_ICF & SAP_BC_FPADS_ICF to it.
12. I have activated the fp & fpads service through SICF ->default_host ->sap ->bc ->fp. Right Click &
Activate
13. The checking of destination service through FP_CHECK_DESTINATION_SERVICE prompts for a
username and password and doesnot accept ADSUSER or ADS_AGENT and j2ee_admin user is giving
error of rpdata authorization.
14. The ICF service through web browser using link
http://<server>:8000/sap/bc/fp/form/layout/fp_test_00.xdp accepts ADS_AGENT user and displays an
XML code.
15. The test of changing of Destination Service to
http://<server>:8000/sap/bc/fp/form/layout/fp_test_00.xdp through Visual Admin results in HTTP GET
response code 200 Content type text/html
I have worked my brains out on this but unable to understand the problem. I think it is because I am not able to change the password of ADSUSER things are not working.
Please help me out.

SAP Web AS ABAP + Java system
Hello All,
I am looking at the installation guide of SAP XI. I did not understand one thing from that guide. it says
<b>"If you want to install the component SAP Exchange Infrastructure:Prepare the SAP Web AS ABAP + Java system for SAP Exchange Infrastructure"</b>
I would appreciate if anyone of you can clarify what is <b>SAP Web AS ABAP + Java system</b>.
What I have been thinking all these days is we could have either Java(J2EE) or ABAP Web Application Server.
I don't understand what this ABAP + Java system is ?
Thanks in AdvanceHi Vanaja,
in the world of WAS 6.40 you can install it as three variant.
1. ABAP standalone (with it own SID) e.g. for R/3
2. Java stanalone (with it own SID) e.g. for EP 7.0
3. ABAP + Java as an Add in (Java and ABAP has the same SID)
For XI you have to install a so called double stack WAS 6.40 or SAP Web AS ABAP + Java System or ABAP + Java Add in. All this describe the same variant of the installation.
Normally you will have one database where J2EE-Scheme and
the ABAP-Schema is on the same database. I would really
suggest you to read the installation master SR1 there you
will get the understanding what is the difference.

When I look at the log, it fails at some step that tried to copy UNINSAP.EXE to my local drive. It is looking at directory IM01_NT_I386/SAPINST/NT/I386/UNISAP.EXE. This is a path in the "Installation Master" DVD. However, during the intsallation, the installation wizard asked me to insert the RDBMS DVD. I don't know exactly what it means. Anyway, following is a stack trace. See the last line:

Does SAP's JNDI Context support connecting to remote Directory?
I have wriiten a WebDynpro containing code that creates a new InitialContext using the Context.PROVIDER_URL to refer to a remote Websphere, and then try to list contents of the Context. It seems to list the contents of my local SAP WebAS deployment, as if the constructed java.naming.Context is ignoring the PROVIDER_URL. Here is the code I have written:
Properties props = new Properties();
props.put(Context.PROVIDER_URL,"IIOP://PHI18734:900");
InitialContext ctx = new InitialContext(props);
NamingEnumeration enum = ctx.list(ctxName);
while (enum.hasMore()) {
NameClassPair ncp = (NameClassPair)enum.next();
sb.append(ncp.getName());
sb.append("="+ncp.getClassName());
sb.append(" ");
wdContext.currentContextElement().setNamelist(sb);
Anyone have any insights to offer, or perhaps point me to some documentation that I haven't found yet, that would discuss SAP's InitialContext implementation?
Thanks,
Michael RainsUse Java SE 6.0 beta or wait untill it is released in Fall 2006

Roles In SAP Web AS ABAP would not appear automatically in J2EE Engine
I have an ABAP+Java Addin Instance Installed.
When I create a user, it shows up in the Jave Engine when I goto Services->Security Provider.
But the ABAP roles would not show up in the Java Engine.
Please advise..HI,
It depends on the UME chosen,
You need to ensure your ume config allows groups to be created. check the xml you have chosen,
also permission for sapjsf.

Does SAP stop/terminate ITS support in the future? - truth or just gossip
I've heard a gossip about SAP will terminate the ITS functionality in the near future.
Does anyone know something exact about this theme, what is the SAP official slant in this question?
If it is true, what is the alternative solution instead of ITS functionality is WAS?

Andras HegerHi Andras,
SAP provides different frameworks to program user interface. The most often used framework is the SAP dynpro programming model which is probably used by 80-90 percent of SAP applications. ITS is the technology to display screens based on the dynpro framework in the browser. Because dynpros are so widely used it is very unlikely that SAP will terminate support for ITS in the near future. On the SAP Service Marketplace (http://service.sap.com) following official information can be found for the oldest release of ITS, ITS 6.20 standalone:
ITS 6.20 - supported 'longterm'
The date for end of support for release 6.20 depends on the maintenance deadlines for the SAP products which need the SAP ITS 6.20.
As long as one of these products is supported, the ITS 6.20 will also be supported.
Currently the product with the longest lifecycle is SAP ECC 5.0 (until 31st of March 2013).
For integrated ITS which is a functionality of SAP Netweaver 2004/7.0 the maintenance timeline is as long as for the SAP Netweaver release.
As you see you can expect ITS to be healthy for quite long time.
Please also check the ITS FAQ: <a href="https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/wiki?path=/display/home/itsFAQs&">https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/wiki?path=/display/home/itsFAQs&</a>

Apple software updates does not appear to do its automatic checks?
I have itunes installed on two almost identical Windows 7 based PC's and I have noticed that on one PC the Apple Software Updates do not appear to do its job by checking for updates automatically. If I run the software manually it will show if an update is available and allow me to install it but I never seem to get prompted automatically by Apple Software Updates even though its set to check weekly. My other PC does prompt. Both PC's have pretty much exactly the same software installed including firewall. Any reason why this would not appear to be working? Any way of checking if its actually carrying out the checks?
The reason I suggested moving the files to the Desktop is because if none of these files are responsible for the problem, you can then put them back--or at least put back the com.apple.systempreferences.plist file, which would have many things in it besides the setting for Software Update. If it is the cause of the problem it would be a good idea to replace it and redo your settings. But if it is NOT causing a problem you would not want to figure out what all needs to be reset, instead you can put the old one back. The two plists from the ByHosts folders can probably just be trashed, and new ones created when you reset preferences for Software Update, although the scheduler might do something else (I don't have many things on auto schedule so I don't know, the only thing in mine is Software Update settings).

Does SAP direct input programs have authorization checks built-in?
Can anyone advise if the SAP direct input programs eg. RFBIBL00, RMDATIND, RCCLBI03, RM60IN00, RVINVB10 etc. have authorization checking features?
In transaction BMV0, there is a value for User Name. If the user executes the direct input job from here, but uses a different User Name in the job definition in BMV0, does that mean that the authorization check is done against the User Name maintained instead?
Kindly advise asap, thanks.Hi Li,
This is what the SAP Doucmentation says about the USer name that is maintained in BMV0 transaction.
<i><b>" User name in user master record
Background processing takes place under this user name. This person
needs to have the application-specific authorizations necessary for
running the direct input job (for example, all material master
authorizations).
If you do not enter a name, the job will run under the user name of the
person scheduling it. "</b></i>

Does Office Web Apps 2013 supports PDF Portfolio Documents
Hi Team,
Could you please let me know whether office web apps supports Adobe Acrobat X PDF Portfolios (Preview PDF portfolio files through OWA 2013 in SharePoint 2013).
Thanks!
Bharat
Thanks! Palani KHi Bharat,
Quote from the link you provided:
The original files retain their individual identities but are assembled into one PDF Portfolio file. You can open, read, edit, and format each component file independently of the other component files in the PDF Portfolio. Depending on the circumstances,
PDF Portfolios offer several advantages over merging multiple files into a single PDF.
Since the issue is related to third party product, I'd recommend you also contact their support engineer for more sufficient resource and assistance.
There is not many articles as I could find that talk about pdf portfolio in Office Web App, here is a similar thread:

Does SAP have a report can display check# and deposit#
Dear all,
I was wondering if we can have a report in SAP (not a user query) to display check# and deposit#. This is for incoming but not outgoing payment. Thanks.
Regards,
YukaYuka,
Actually - there is no report in SAP for this. You have to create you own custom report.
Use this as your base query
SELECT DISTINCT T0.DeposDate AS 'Deposit Date', T0.DeposNum AS 'Deposit No', T2.CheckNum
FROM [dbo].[ODPS] T0 INNER JOIN [dbo].[DPS1] T1 ON T0.DeposId = T1.DepositId
INNER JOIN [dbo].[OCHH] T2 ON T2.CheckKey = T1.CheckKey
WHERE T0.DeposType = 'K'
