Does specified lsn should greater than or less than min_autonosync_lsn when setting up a "initialize from lsn" subscription?

Hello,
For setting up a "initialize from lsn" type subscription successfully, Does the lsn for @subscriptionlsn parameter need greater than or less than the min_autonosync_lsn (syspublications) ?
I read two versions of this: one is lsn >min_autonosync_lsn ,the other is lsn <min_autonosync_lsn. I agree lsn >min_autonosync_lsn.
Thanks

Basically it means that the lsn should be retrievable somewhere in the distribution database. So it has to be> than the min otherwise you would need to reinitialize.
Note that this is only important when you are mirroring the subscription database.

• Why does my report look great in report builder but rubbish when seen at runtime?

Hi Folks.
I've developed a report with a graph. When I run it in Report Builder it looks great and the chart is present.
When I run it on the same machine but called from a menu item, the report does not have the chart, the font is wrong and some of the copy dissapears before it reached the right side of the page.
Any clues?
Cheers
Simon

You haven't noted what output format you're using or how you're viewing the output.
If you're running from a browser, try using desformat=PDF. You should see the same output in the browser that you're seeing in the builder.

• Logon screen represented less than 2880x1620 when set up in full resolution

Hello
I had to reinstall my new W540 20BG with Win7 Ultimate from scratch and integrated also all current drivers. So I had no problems.
I have set the highest resolution of 2880x1620. Now on the logon screen the Windows background picture will appear smaller (approximately about 2048x1152). If I change the resolution to 2048x1152 or smaller, then the picture fills the screen. If needed I can take a photo from the logon screen and upload it.
I tried to find any settings by NVidia driver, nothing found, nothing have effects.
a) Whats is the reason for this issue?
b) How I can fix it?
Could someone help me? Thanks.
Best regards.

Maybe I'm wrong, but the best option would be to work with percentages, not pixels.

• Why does my powerpoint keep correcting my language as wrong even when i default to english from french?

My professor uploads a powerpoint that the class downloads for in class notes. Every time i'm in class taking notes, the program red underlines all of my words saying that they're incorrect. So in attempt to prevent that I went to tools>language>Delft English language (from french) and pressed OK. IT WORKED! then..... I went to my next slide to proceed to take notes and there it is again.... WHY is it doing this to me after I defaulted it over twenty times in one sitting???

I have a manual that contains headings and index entries that contain less than and greater than characters, < and >. The Publish to Responsive HTML5 function escapes these correctly in the main body of the text but does not work correctly in either the Contents or the Index of the generated HTML. In the Contents the words are completely missing and in the index entries the '\' characters that are required in the markers remain in the entry but the leading less than symbol and the first character of the word is deleted; hence what should appear as <dataseries> appears as \ataseries\>. I believe this is a FMv12 bug. Has anyone else experienced this? Is the FM team aware and working on a fix. Any suggestions for a workaround?

The Index issue is more complicated since in order to get the < and > into the index requires the entry itself to be escaped. So, in order to index '<x2settings>' you have to key '\<x2settings\>'. Looking at the generated index entry in the .js file we see '<key name=\"\\2settings\\>\">. This is a bit of a mess and produces an index entry of '\2settings\>'. This ought to be '<key name=\"<x2settings>\" >'. I have tested this fix and it works - but the worst of it is that the first character of the index entry has been stripped out. Consequently I cannot fix this with a few global changes - and I have a lot of index entries of this type. I'm looking forward to a response to this since I cannot publish this document in its current state.

• Greater Than Less Than

Dear all,
I am Using oracle 10g R2 database on windows.
I have a doubt that,
If I have a 'Date' datatype column suppose a and want to (select Less than sysdate and greater than Sysdate-31(One Month).
e.i.
select a,b,c from T where a Less Than Sysdate-31(One month.);How can i do this.
Thanks,
Chanchal Wankhade.

I had not considered the effect on an index with TRUNC. Thank you for pointing that out.
TRUNC doesn't actually remove time as you can see below
SELECT TO_CHAR(TRUNC(SYSDATE),'MM/DD/YYYY HH:MM:SS AM') "Today's Date and Time" from DUAL;
Today's Date and Time
01/19/2012 12:01:00 AMLet's say sysdate = Jan 19, 2012 11:00:00 AM
As shown above, trunc(sysdate) = Jan 19, 2012 12:01:00 AM
So, trunc(sysdate) -1 = Jan 18, 2012 12:01:00 AM
Removing the trunc from column a
select a,b,c
from T
where a between trunc(sysdate)-1 and trunc(sysdate);will also remove all data that is greater than Jan 19, 2012, 12:01:00 AM so you would only see data from one day -- Jan 18th.
Adding the trunc to column a returns all the data from Jan 18th and 19th.
It is my experience that users will ask for a date range, but then will ask for just one day. If Column a is not truncated, then no rows would be returned when between trunc(sysdate) and trunc(sysdate).
Most programmers will not use trunc(sysdate) in the where clause, but would use a variable with value assigned of sysdate or trunc(sysdate) as it provides more flexibility.
If you do not want to use trunc on column a, then the where clause should be BETWEEN trunc(sysdate) - 31 AND sysdate.
Edited by: Shinegar on Jan 19, 2012 12:40 PMThe trunc function does not remove the time portion, but it does set it to midnight. Or at least i would if you used the correct format mask in your TO_CHAR. The mask for minutes is MI not MM.

• User input formula variable with greater than/less than operators for KFG

Hello all,
I have used a formula in my query that is a difference of two key figures .For e.g:
Difference = tax from system A - tax from system B.
Now when the users run the report they should be prompted for the 'Difference' threshold for seeing the report say where difference is greater 100 or equal to 10 and so on.Currrently I have created a formula variable with 'user input' and created a 'condition' to display 'Difference' greater than the user entered value.
However,it is required to have various selection options for setting the threshold of difference.For e.g User should be able to set say 'equal to'/'greater than/less than/not equal to operator for 'difference' in the initial selection screen of the report.
With the current user-input formula variable I am not getting these 'greater than' etc operators.Any ideas on how to achieve this?

Ya know, that's all well and good ... BUT ... WHAT IF you do want to sort text type columns with Greater Than and Less Than operatiors??
SQL does it just Fine ... so WHY does APEX have the limit??? This is an Oracle BUG ... it SHOULD NOT limit the operators ... I realize "they" may be trying to be helpful with proper constraints to field searches ... but ... if SQL can do it, then ... no need for a limit.
EG ...
Show the records where
the "Begin_Year-Wk" data is less than or equal to "2009-09" AND
the "End_Year-Wk" data is greater than or equal to "2009-04"
... to give everything that was running in that 5 week period whether or not it starts within that time frame
I can run this query perfectly fine via SQL ... but not in APEX ... unless I reconvert a lot of strings back to numbers, and for sorting / formatting / explain-to-user purposes, I really don't want them to be numbers.
So ... there's gotta be a hidden tweak for operators somewhere ...

• Greater Than or Less Than using String Variables

I seem to have a problem when trying to sort an ALPHABETIC LIST, seeing if one text field is greater tan or less than another.
i.e. Lets say my variables are called FirstLetter and SecondLetter.
FirstLetter="A", SecondLetter="B"
So as an example and a test....Can I ask ...
IF SecondLetter>FirstLetter Then
Textwindow.WriteLine(SecondLetter + "  >" + FirstLetter)
Else
Textwindow.WriteLine(FirstLetter + " >= " + SecondLetter)
Endif
I seem to be fine and program working well with numeric values in variables but the '> & <' feature does not seem to work with Text ?
Any help really appreciated
Thanks
Dave

We gotta get their ASCII/UNICODE value before comparing them:
firstLetter = "A"
secondLetter = "B"
If Text.GetCharacterCode(firstLetter) > Text.GetCharacterCode(secondLetter) Then
Textwindow.WriteLine(FirstLetter + " > " + SecondLetter)
ElseIf Text.GetCharacterCode(firstLetter) < Text.GetCharacterCode(secondLetter) Then
Textwindow.WriteLine(SecondLetter + " > " + FirstLetter)
Else
Textwindow.WriteLine("They're the same " + FirstLetter + " letter!")
EndIf

• WS Error - Planned Qty should be greater than Completed + Rejected Qty

Hi All,
We've tried to close a Production Order using the ProductionOrdersService Web Service. We're doing this by setting the Production Order Status flag to closed (boposClosed). The call also requires us to re-set the due date so we do that to the same value.
When we perform the call we receive the following exception:
"Planned Qty should be greater than Completed + Rejected Qty [OWOR.PlannedQty]"
It's interesting to note that we've tried to close the production order with different items and everything seems to point towards an issue with the items, however, we're not really sure what is triggering the error. We're also not sure what the error really implies as the Planned Qty is greater than the Completed + the Rejected Qty on the database.
We're working with SAP 8.8.1.
The code is as follows:
// Get the current session ID first
// Create message header object with value..
SAPProductionOrdersService::MsgHeader^ localMsgHeader = gcnew SAPProductionOrdersService::MsgHeader();
localMsgHeader->SessionID = sessionId;
localMsgHeader->ServiceName = SAPProductionOrdersService::MsgHeaderServiceName::ProductionOrdersService;
localMsgHeader->ServiceNameSpecified = true;
SAPProductionOrdersService::ProductionOrdersService ^iprodWs = gcnew SAPProductionOrdersService::ProductionOrdersService();
iprodWs->MsgHeaderValue = localMsgHeader;
// Set the item params object
SAPProductionOrdersService::ProductionOrderParams^ localProductionOrderParams = gcnew SAPProductionOrdersService::ProductionOrderParams();
localProductionOrderParams->AbsoluteEntry = ProductionOrderNum;
localProductionOrderParams->AbsoluteEntrySpecified = true;
// Perform the Item fetch with that information
SAPProductionOrdersService::ProductionOrder^ localProductionOrder = iprodWs->GetByParams(localProductionOrderParams);
// Construct a new Production Order Data structure
SAPProductionOrdersService::ProductionOrder^ newProd = gcnew SAPProductionOrdersService::ProductionOrder();
// Absolute Entry
newProd->AbsoluteEntry = ProductionOrderNum;
newProd->AbsoluteEntrySpecified = true;
// Production Order Status
newProd->ProductionOrderStatus = SAPProductionOrdersService::ProductionOrderProductionOrderStatus::boposClosed;
newProd->ProductionOrderStatusSpecified = true;
newProd->DueDate = localProductionOrder->DueDate;//     {6/9/2011 0:0:0 System.DateTime}     System::DateTime
newProd->DueDateSpecified     = localProductionOrder->DueDateSpecified;//     bool
// Setting lines array back
newProd->ProductionOrderLines = localProductionOrder->ProductionOrderLines;
// Item Code
newProd->ItemNo = ItemNum;
// Perform the Update of the Production Order with that information
iprodWs->Update(newProd);
// Since there is no return type telling us of the recent update, unless we get an exception, assume it worked
String^ recMsg = "Close Production Order Attempt Successful. Parameters are: \r\n" +
"Production Order Num: " + ProductionOrderNum;
Log::LogInformation(recMsg);
retVal = true;
Hector

Dear Gordon,
Yes, I have checked the data in the database. I've checked tables OWOR fields PlannedQty, CompletedQty and RjctQty and everything seems to be in order. I also checked table WOR1 for the production order lines. There are two lines, one Labor and one Raw Material (regular item). I've checked BaseQty, PlannedQty and IssuedQty but everything seems in order there as well.
Do you know if there is a way to find out what internal piece of code throws that exception message?

• Goods receipt date should be greater than the P.O. date

Hi
Is there any option to control the Goods receipt date should not be lesser than the P.O.Date??
Eg: P.O. is raised in 10.1.9, User should not do the GRN before 10.1.9. In which way we can control this???
Regards

Dear,
You have to include User exit in MIGOwhich will trhrow an error at the time when Goods receipt date is greater than the P.O. date.

• Case structure greater than or less than

Hello.
I am having difficulty with making a case structure that if a numerical input is greater than a number it does one thing and less it does another.
Basically how do you work with case structures that aren't boolean, specifically if a number is greater than 38 it reassigns it as 0 (multiplies by zero something like that).
Solved!
Go to Solution.

http://zone.ni.com/reference/en-XX/help/371361H-01/lvhowto/case_selector_values/
Or use the boolean logic you are talking about. If you use a greater than on your number and it is greater you will get a true and if it is not greater than it will be false. You could even use the in range function (comparison pallete) to get a true or false.
Or give more information about what you are trying to do. The more info you give, the better answer you will get. Otherwise we have to guess why you are trying to do it the way you are asking when there could be a better way.

• Greater than/less than comparisons

Hello!
Does somebody has any idea why I get this error message ?
Greater than/less than comparisons with character type operands may not be portable ?
friendly regards
erdem

Hi Erdem,
You can only use the comparison operators with in the Numeric Characters or the parameters with integer Data Types or Decimal Data Types.
For Example,
Data : A type I Value '5',
B Type I Value '10'.
If A < B.
else.

• Are there symbols for greater than or equal, less than or equal?

Hi,
I have occasional references that mention things like "Adjust the Kd pot until the voltage is <= 2.0 v" or "Turn the screw until the clearance is => .005 inch."
<= means less than or equal to.
=> means greater than or equal to.
I looked the the installed Character Sets PDF file and could not find these symbols. Is there an ASCII or ANSI code or a special font that has these items as a single symbol?
Yours,
Michael F
========

If you're using a FM8 or greater than you should use the Unicode values for these symbols:
<= is /u2264
>= is /u2265
However, the font that you are using must contain the glyphs in these code points.
With the ANSI Symbol and Dingbats sets, these symbols were coded at:
0163 (\xa3) (ctrl-q #) less than or equal to
0179 (\xb3) (ctrl-q 3) greater than or equal to

• Trying to do date field greater than a specified date in condition editor

Hi All,
I am trying to build the XML predicate in the expression editor to check that the posting date sent is greater than a specified date to determine the reciever. I can get it to validate posting date is = to specified date, but when I change the = to > it fails to properly determine the receiver, when I send a valid document.
Below is the expression build
(/p1:ServiceAcknowledgementConfirmation/ServiceAcknowledgement[CreationDateTime>'2007-02-03'] EX )
has anyone done this type of check. I have it set as a date type for the expression.

Hey all,
I tried >= 2007-02-04 and sent in that exact date. It failed. I removed > so that it is just = 2007-02-04 and it was successful. So, is >= an allowable operator?
