DOM support in JavaFx?

I'm wondering if the org.w3c.dom.Document available in the mobile profile in 'Fx?
I can't compile a sample with it under the Mobile profile and can't find any combination of libs to import to provide it..
Thx,

Perhaps the [Java ME Open Source Software - XML Parser, XPath, Soap, Web Services|http://j2me.ngphone.com/opensource/xml.htm] page can help you (thanks, Google! :-D)
Still curious, what are you trying to do exactly? I thought stream parsers were better adapted to memory constrained (perhaps less today) mobile environments.

    Lack of Mac & Linux Support Hurting Javafx 2.0 Early Adoption and traction.
    Oracle needs to come out with a Mac & Linux Beta built, or let developers know the real story behind Mac OS and Javafx 2.0.

    I too would like to at least be able to try the Mac/Linux ports, even knowing that they are behind the Windows version. But just knowing that Oracle is committed to them is enough to ease any nervous feeling that I'm choosing the wrong tech.
    I have no problems with the fact that Oracle is concentrating on Windows first. It makes sense. If you have to pick one platform to focus on while you are getting the kinks out, it makes sense for it to be the most popular platform. That's Windows. But there mustn't be too long of a wait for the others. (E.g. if they were in a public beta stage when the Windows version is at final release, that would help boost confidence in the platform.)
    So long as they don't make the same mistakes that were made with Swing, where there are too many assumptions that all platforms work the same - so things like Mac's screen menu bar had to be fit in after the fact by Apple using awkward hacks. (I notice that now even popular Linux distros (Ubuntu) are using the screen menu bar concept, though they have managed to fit that into the window manager in such a way that it didn't seem to cause much problems.)

  • Win8 mobile / tablet touchscreen support in javafx 8.0

    Does anyone have any concrete information about touchscreen support in JavaFX 8? We are about to abandon java for HTML5, but I think I can make a case for JavaFX 8 if I can demonstrate that mobile touch gestures can be supported properly.

    Judging by [URL https://javafx-jira.kenai.com/issues/?jql=text%20~%20%22touch%20screen%22]Jira and [URL http://docs.oracle.com/javafx/2/api/javafx/scene/input/SwipeEvent.html]the javadoc, yes they plan to provide touch screen support.
    They have hinted at support for mobile devices in the future, but I have absolutely no idea when they plan to release that. There isn't going to be a lot of concrete information, since Oracle does not like to make premature announcements.

    Is there any plan to add RTSP support?
    I think it is a very important function in surveillance application.
    Oracle should think about it!

    You can create a new feature request for RTSP support against javafx-jira.kenai.com

  • Why Oracle dropped support of JavaFX on ARM devices?

    Why Oracle dropped the support of JavaFX on ARM devices? Release note: http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/jdk-8u33-arm-relnotes-2406696.html
    Im studing JavaFX for a commercial project with Raspberry, but, this news changed everything.

    I am asking the same question, and I am very disappointed with the lack of communication from ORACLE.
    I have spent a lot of time to learn JavaFX from 1.1 version and I was very enthusiastic about the new start of JavaFX 2.0 and the "promises" that came with it.
    And today, after 2 years, the only thing we can do seriously with JavaFX is building a desktop application !
    - Building a Web application is theoretically possibly but is a mess in the real world (JRE version, plugin, certificate, ...)
    - Building an application for the mobile world is not completed yet. It remains a lot of work, and no roadmap can give us a vision of the future. Moreover, with politics and courts problems between Oracle and Google and Apple, future of JavaFX is opened to doubt.
    - And now if ARM support is dropped ...
    The only way that remains partially clear is that JavaFX will replace Swing. But that would be a big waste and an enormous disappointment if it was the case.
    If only Oracle could communicate on its strategies ...
    During this time, in a parallel world, Javascript, HTML, and CSS are growing and eating all the devices ...
    Best regards

  • Is DOM supported using SNMP on Cisco 6500;s?

    Is DOM supported using SNMP on Cisco 6500's? I've configured DOM on 6509 using transceiver type all -> monitoring. Is DOM enable for SNMP mibs? Here's the MIB I got from a vendor. .1.3.6.1.4.1.3607. And I'm unable to walk it on any of my Cisco devices including Nexus 5672 and 4900.

    That oid looks like the sysoid for the ONS series of products. I don't think that will work in this case. Unfortunately, I can't offer any other advice, I've not looked into snmp support for DOM.

  • How far does FLV Support in JavaFX go?

    Currently, I am trying to play various FLV Videos in a JavaFX Application. However I noticed, that most videos cannot be played (YouTube Videos for example). So I'm wondering if there are any specifications that tell which video formats JavaFX actually supports?

    According to one source, Windows, Macintosh, and Linux take up approximately 98% of the market share in operating systems. Most of the remaining two percent is for pocket computers.
    Losing a small amount of platform independence, paying expensive licensing fees, or waiting for unpredictable advancements in video codecs and possible integration with JavaFX (such as Sun/Oracle's Open Media Commons) are pretty much the only options. I suppose we could pray that Google's plans for On2 will help us, but the acquisition still hasn't gone through and we can only guess what Google is up to until then.
    I haven't actually tested it with JavaFX, but I believe that MPEG-1 is supported by all three of the major operating systems.

  • Disable DOM Support on Cat3750x and 2960S

    ist it possibile do disable DOM monitoring or disable log warnings (other than doing log filtering ...) ?
    on this link:
    https://supportforums.cisco.com/document/75181/digital-optical-monitoring-dom
    Following commands are mentioned:
    Router(config)#transceiver type all
    Router(config-xcvr-type)#monitoring
    Router(config-xcvr-type)#end
    BUT theses commands  do not exist on C3750X ....
    Any other idea ?

    It appears the feature is not supported on all hardware platforms, even though they may support DOM-enabled transceivers. The IOS feature navigator doesn't get down to that level of detail.
    I was able to find reference to its being supported on Catalyst 6500, Catalyst 7600 and ASR 901.
    It appears in the 4500 Configuration Guide but not in the associated command reference, so it appears it's not actually supported there. I found no reference at all in the 3750-X or 2960-S configuration guides.
    I checked it on a 6500 - it works there. Checking on a 4500-X and 3750-X - it doesn't work on those. (All are running pretty recent IOS levels.)

  • JavaFX continues the support of JavaFX

    We are analyzing some possible solutions to provide a web solution across different devices and browsers.
    JavaFX is an option but I have found information that the project JavaFX is going to be discontinued by Oracle:
    http://www.coderanch.com/t/533315/Java-FX/java/future-JavaFX
    Is that true?
    Any information or confirmation would be great.
    Thanks

    >
    The term "discontinued" is not totally clear to me. It means, in this case, to migrate from 1.3.1 to 2.0, right?
    So we are saying that JavaFX is not going to, let's say, disappear. Totally the opposite.
    It is completely supported by Oracle. In word of the Roadmap web "Oracle is committed to making JavaFX the premier environment for rich client applications."
    >
    Sort of. JavaFX in general is not being discontinued, only the scripting language is being dropped. JavaFX 2.0 will be a normal Java API. So for instance, this:
    //Creating and using a stage in the scripting language.
    Stage {
        scene: Scene {
    }will no longer be possible in Script. But it will be possible to do in normal Java:
    //Using a stage in normal Java.
    public class Main extends Application {
         * From what I have seen in the more recent examples produced by Oracle employees in their blogs,
         * the main stage is given to you inside this method.
        public void start(Stage stage) {
            //Create a scene and add it the Java way.
            Scene scene = new Scene();
            stage.setScene(scene);
        public static void main(String[] args) {
            Launcher.start(Main.class, args);
    }Our interest is in producing a web application, with advanced components (tables, menus, trees,...) as alternative to other approaches like Ajax.
    Then the solution would consist in running JavaFX in an applet of the HTML page. Am I correct?
    >
    Sure.
    >
    Another concern is the licensing. As it will become part of java, no license is required.
    >
    I have no idea what the license will say. But technically speaking, there is a license for normal Java. I am quite certain there will be a license for JavaFX.
    If you are asking whether you can develop commercial applications with it free of charge, the answer should be yes. I think the license is mainly just to make sure you accept that you are using their software at your own risk and won't sue them if something goes wrong. Of course, I am not a lawyer, so use my advice at your own risk and make sure to read the license for yourself when it comes out!
    >
    And last but not least, we are interested in making the web accessible from different devices (PC, PDA, advanced mobiles...) and different browsers (IE, Mozilla, Safari,...). Is there a list of tested devices/browsers compatible with JavaFX?
    >
    I don't think so. I can tell you right now though that support for mobile has been dropped for the time being. Oracle will probably try to build support for it in the future, but they are still kind of busy trying to make JavaFX in general work.

  • CSS Not supported in JavaFX 2 beta

    Hello I've been testing on javafx 2 beta release deeply.
    I was wondering of using custom css file in javafx. But it is not happening.
    My first try of using css:
    Scene scene = new Scene(panel, 300, 250);
    scene.getStylesheets().add("file:/c:/main.css");
    //main.css
    .scene{
        -fx-font-size: 16pt;
        -fx-font-family: "Courier New";
        -fx-base: rgb(132, 145, 47);
        -fx-background: rgb(225, 228, 203);
    }The above code compiles fine but no any changes happened.
    After all I try with this:
    Button b =new Button("Test");
    b.setStyle("-fx-text-fill: white; -fx-background-color:gray;  -fx-border-color:blue;");It worked for me.
    Finally I have predicted that beta released have bug of using custom css file. But I'm not sure so please comment for solution if you have!

    Hi,
    css works for me. I have put main.css in same package as Main class
    and if i add it to scene with this line :
    scene.getStylesheets().add("/jfx2betatest/main.css"); it works, but if i use to add it like before with this :
    scene.getStylesheets().add(getClass().getResource("main.css").toExternalForm());it just does not work, even if i make error in css it wont recognize error while first one recognizes errors in css.
    Here is one tip when i change something i css and i dont see changes on scene just try clean and build project cuz often it does not copy css to build dir.

  • Will JavaFX WebView support HTML5 features like indexedDB ?

    I need to be able to access a site that rely on indexedDB, though it seems not yet supported by WebView component.
    (List of features: [http://docs.oracle.com/javafx/2/webview/jfxpub-webview.htm] )
    Will the WebView component in the future support every HTML5 feature like a full browser like Chrome and Firefox or shouldn't I count on it?
    Thank you for any information.

    You can check for indexeddb support for javafx by running an issue search at javafx.kenai.com. You can also create a feature request if none is found.
    Support for some other html5 and w3c related specifications (above the excellent support which JavaFX already provides for these technologies) in JavaFX is already in progress or planned as can be found by similar Jira issue tracker searches.
    Note, no application supports every html5 feature and it is unlikely that any will.
    Also, IndexedDB references the html5 specification, but is a separate specification.
