DOM support on a c6k platform

Hi,
I was wondering that I'm not able to get transceiver details on a c6500 (with sup720-bxl) platform running version 15.1(1)SY1.
Xenpaks will do fine:
c6504#sh int Te3/3 transceiver
ITU Channel not available (Wavelength not available),Transceiver is internally calibrated.Alarms applicable when thresholds or values are not N/A.If device is externally calibrated, only calibrated values are printed.++ : high alarm, +  : high warning, -  : low warning, -- : low alarm.NA or N/A: not applicable, Tx: transmit, Rx: receive.mA: milliamperes, dBm: decibels (milliwatts).                                         Optical   Optical            Temperature  Voltage  Current   Tx Power  Rx PowerPort        (Celsius)    (Volts)  (mA)      (dBm)     (dBm)----------  -----------  -------  --------  --------  --------Te3/3         30.1        N/A      30.4 --   -0.9      -2.0
While a SFP-GE-L fails:
c6504#sh int Gi4/23 transceiver
Diagnostic Monitoring is not implemented.
The SFP has definitivly DOM/DDM support enabled. If I plugg the optic in a C2960G switch, I can query the transceiver details-

Most linecards on the 6500 do not support DOM even though the transceivers are capable.
Please refer to the matrix in the following document, beginning on page 47:

  • Disable DOM Support on Cat3750x and 2960S

ist it possibile do disable DOM monitoring or disable log warnings (other than doing log filtering ...) ?
    on this link:
    https://supportforums.cisco.com/document/75181/digital-optical-monitoring-dom
    Following commands are mentioned:
    Router(config)#transceiver type all
    Router(config-xcvr-type)#monitoring
    Router(config-xcvr-type)#end
BUT theses commands  do not exist on C3750X ....
    Any other idea ?

It appears the feature is not supported on all hardware platforms, even though they may support DOM-enabled transceivers. The IOS feature navigator doesn't get down to that level of detail.
I was able to find reference to its being supported on Catalyst 6500, Catalyst 7600 and ASR 901.
It appears in the 4500 Configuration Guide but not in the associated command reference, so it appears it's not actually supported there. I found no reference at all in the 3750-X or 2960-S configuration guides.
I checked it on a 6500 - it works there. Checking on a 4500-X and 3750-X - it doesn't work on those. (All are running pretty recent IOS levels.)

  • Is JavaMail 1.3.3 supported on z/Linux platform

Hi, I would like to know are following libraries supported on z/Linux platform ?
    1) JavaMail 1.3.3 and
    2) Java Activation Framework 1.0.2
Or can you please send me the known issues, if any ?
Also would appreciate if could send me any info/link for 64 bit JVM support for these.
Thanks a lot in advance / Rajan Kumar

Java is supposed to be Write Once Run Anywhere. So I would assume that ordinary Java code would run on z/Linux, 64-bit or otherwise, until my tests proved otherwise.

The WSRP Support Kit for WebLogic Platform SP2 has just been released at

Please note that this is a preview release, and requires WebLogic
    Platform 8.1 SP2.

There is a release planned for mid Summer, but it is too early to confirm.
In case you must add WSRP support to apps in platform domain, you can do
so manually, and here are the steps.
    - Create a platform domain before installing WSRP Support Kit.
    - Create a portal domain after installing WSRP Support Kit.
    - Replace <Security> element in config.xml in the platform domain with
    the one from portal domain.
    - Add wsrp-common.jar file to the system classpath for the platform domain.
Let me know if this helps.

    Hi Lukas,
I think the problem is caused by differenet drivers for the CAN communication.
NI provides two driver for CAN: NI-CAN and NI-XNET.
NI-CAN is the outdated driver which is not longer used by new hardware. NI replaced the NI-CAN driver with NI-XNET some years ago, which supports CAN, LIN and the FLEXRAY communication protocol.
    You wrote:
In order to fix this problem I have formatted my PXI and I have installed the following SW from the iPC:
    3. NI_CAN 2.7.3
NI CAN is the outdated driver. I think that you should try to install NI-XNET instead of NI-CAN on your PXI-System, to get rid of the error message.

  • What determines whether 3D is supported on a given platform?

    I'm using the 2.0 beta (build 34) on Windows 7... when I call Platform.isSupported( ConditionalFeature.SCENE3D ), I get a result of 'false'.
What determines whether or not 3D is supported on a given platform?

I just found the resolution to my problem in Jira, at: http://javafx-jira.kenai.com/browse/RT-14415
    Specifically, this comment:
The minimum driver version for Intel HD was recently changed to 8.15.10.2302 to workaround bugs in older drivers.
If you run JavaFX as follows, it will show you your driver version number, and also print the minimum version number.
    1. Set the environment variable NWT_TRACE_LEVEL=4
    2. Run any JavaFX program with: java -Dprism.verbose=true ...

  • Is DOM supported using SNMP on Cisco 6500;s?

Is DOM supported using SNMP on Cisco 6500's? I've configured DOM on 6509 using transceiver type all -> monitoring. Is DOM enable for SNMP mibs? Here's the MIB I got from a vendor. .1.3.6.1.4.1.3607. And I'm unable to walk it on any of my Cisco devices including Nexus 5672 and 4900.

That oid looks like the sysoid for the ONS series of products. I don't think that will work in this case. Unfortunately, I can't offer any other advice, I've not looked into snmp support for DOM.

  • DOM support for 40G transponders on the Nexus 3172PQ switch

I have a new Nexus 3172PQ system which supports 40G transponders, but when the "sh inter ether 1/49 trans det" command is executed, the system responds with DOM is not enabled. I have transponders that support DOM in the system (QSFP-40G-LR4). IOS is 6.0.2. Question is does the 3172 support DOM for the 40G transponders?

  • URGENT: Browser support w/BEA Portal (Platform 7)

    Hey,
I just "noticed" that officially, the supported IE browser for BEA Platform 7
    is v.5 or above.
My question is, what specifically is not supported with an older IE browser -
v4.0.1 actually. As it is, I would have to deploy to a corporate platform that
is currently using IE 4.0.1. That cannot change in the near future - so if IE
4.0.1 will NOT work with BEA Portal, I have a problem.
    Thanks...
