Don't break OS commands

It's seriously annoying when software companies override basic operating system keyboard shortcuts. Command-H is the universal "Hide" comand in Mac OS X. Why would you use it for anything else?
There are plenty of other keys to use. This stuff is really not that difficult.

Well, you know, while Adobe does lots of silly and annoying things, in justice I have to point out that Command+H has been used for hiding selections in Adobe graphics programs since long before apple adopted it for hiding applications. It dates back to OS 7.5 or so, and I do see that in this case it was a six of one, half a dozen of the other kind of situation. (The shortcut for feathering in PSE 8/mac, now, that's a different story,IMHO. )
You do know that control+command+H will hide PSE? Just checking, since lots of people don't find that.

I have tried london1a1's workaround, and it has not made any difference.
It seems that london1a1 suggests changing the Camera.h file in this location:
          Users/london1a1/Documents/DW_NAF/PhoneGapLib/PhoneGapLib/Classes/Camera.h
Whereas you're saying to change the Camera.h file in this location:
          /Applications/Adobe Dreamweaver CS5.5/Configuration/NativeAppFramework/DWPhoneGap/iphone/PhoneGapLib/Classes/Camera.h
I've tried changing the Camera.h file in both locations. Neither has made a difference.

Filters gone after using "breaking apart" command

Hi there,
I spent quite a bit of time enhancing my video with filters. Then I used the "Break apart" command (Cmd-Shift-G) on some clips in order to be able to work on the audio tracks separately on those clips. Strangely those clips seem to have lost their video filters! I think this is terrible. Any advice? TY.

Permanetly gone I'm afraid.... I learned the hard way too. When you break apart a compound clip, you are basically destroying it, not just "opening" it up. you have to double click it to "dive in" to the clip. I realize theres times when this isn't a good enough solution, only work around I have is to copy the clip before you destroy it, make your changes, then remake a compound clip and then "Paste Effects" this kinda does what your looking for. good luck!

Using the equivalent of a BREAK ON command in SQL Developer SQL window

In SQL*PLUS "BREAK ON Col1 ON Col2;", I can generate a report similar to the following:

I did get around this by using SQL*PLUS to generate an output file with a separation character between the columns and spooling the SQL*PLUS output to a text file.
I then open the text file with Excel and specify the same character as a column separator. Seems to load properly into Excel.

Don't support scadm command in T5220

This sever does not support command scadm since it use ILOM. Is there another command instead of it, which don't require username and password?

Class files created with JBuilder don't run from command line ?

I have created an Application with JBuilder which is
running perfectly from within JBuilder.
However when I tried to run the app from the command line using c:\java ...... I got an error

I also tried to compile my .java files with javac which

How to break the command line in SAP scripts

U can continue in the same line itself by pressing SHIFT+F8
If u want it in the next line then u can give space in the tag column.

Flash Update Breaks loadMovie command

After a recent update of the Flash player, a number of older swfs have suddenly stopped working after many years. It has just happened in the last month. First in Chrome and now Firefox, IE, and Safari in both Windows and MacOS. The problem appears to be related to the loadMovie command. All of the affected SWFs were written in AS2 and our clients aren't willing to pay for recoding the files in AS3. Specifically, the loadMovie command is no longer loading JPEG files into a movie clip holder. An example of a script command that suddenly stopped working is this:
photoFile = "images/front_"+_global.projName1+".jpg";
photo.loadMovie(photoFile);
The image file names and directory structures have not been altered. There have been no identifiable changes to the servers these scripts reside on.
Is this a bug with the recent Flash Player updates? I hope the loadMovie command is not being deprecated. Any help would be appreciated.

I've noticed that too.
One friend reported that his portfolio website doesn't work anymore. Its one main.swf file which loads gallery.swf file which holds photos.
It was working fine for me, than I realised that my flash player is 11.5, after I upgraded it into latest 11.6 it stopped working.
Website is full screen swf. When gallery (button click) load attempt is made, instead of loaded gallery, blank screen is shown.
Right click shows: "Movie not loaded" message
gallery.swf is loaded with this command: loadMovie("gallery.swf", "GalleryHolder");
It's 3 years old AS2 project.
It's not big deal for me because Ill re-make it with jquerry gallery, and flash is generally being hated anyway.
Im not happy about bad hype against flash but we need to move on.
But it could make big problems for other people because their projects will stop working.

There was a 'Bookmark all tabs' command in the bookmarks pull down in earlier versions of Firefox but it's not there in FF4. Could someone tell me where it is?

You can access bookmark all tabs by right-clicking on a tab, or use the keyboard shortcut Control+Shift+D

Patch 125285-04 breaks the command "updatemanager"

I have discovered that the Japanese font patch 125285-04 causes the "updatemanager" to core dump with a java run-time message. On two V210 hosts running Solaris 10 (01/2006), this occurred.
When I ran:
patchrm 125285-04
/usr/bin/fc-cache -f
and tried to run "updatemanager" again, it worked again. I am leaving now for the Memorial day weekend so I will not be available to post further until Tuesday, May 27th. Normally, I would have provided more snapshots and logs of the java run-time core scenario. I didn't remember loading Japanese support features in past installations but if I am told to install Japanese font patches by "updatemanager", I do.

I can no longer duplicate the problem. The patch 125285-04 has been applied. Here are the cases. For one V210 host, the command "updatemanager" was aborting in real time on Friday. I had not removed the patch 125285-04 from it. Today, I tried it Tuesday and it worked. I cannot explain why unless the reboot on Monday cleared up something.
For the host where I had unapplied patch 125285-04, I re-applied it and manually ran the command "/usr/bin/fc-cache -f". Now running the "updatemanager" works. I cannot duplicate this problem today.
I only use updatemanager on these hosts for patching. I have not tried other commands that used GUI fonts/JAVA/etc.

Urxvt: Want to remap Shift-Insert behavior; don't know the command.

So, I want to remap the binding to paste from primary in rxvt-unicode, but I'm not sure how. At the moment, I've tried a few variations:
URxvt.keysym.Print command:paste
URxvt.keysym.Print paste
URxvt.keysym.Print command:\033[2;5^
Those are not it. They all do stuff, sometimes weird stuff, but pasting from primary is not among them.
What to do?

I can think of 2 options for you.
1. run your import with sqlfile and then grep that file for the TABLESPACE keyword. This will give you all of the tablespaces that will be used during the import command.
2. run your import but with these:
keep_master=y master_only=y job_name=my_master_only
this will load just the master table and then you can query the master to find the tablespaces. If your dumpfile is large, this may be much
faster than sqlfile Once this import is complete, do a query like this:
SQL> connect schema_running_job/password
SQL> select unique object_tablespace from my_master_only where process_order > 0 and duplicate = 0;
SQL> select unique object_name from my_master_only where process_order > 0 and duplicate = 0 and object_type = 'TABLESPACE';

Bash: Don't wait for command to exit

I asked this question in an earlier post but it was in the wrong section, my post was...
How would I script the following commands below?
WAM$ nc 127.0.0.1 4271
STREAM #KeyboardInput
PORT 2043 #Result of typing STREAM , would like to PORT="2043" as variable
^C #Exit KeyBoardInput
WAM$
In between these two posts, I came up with a partial solution such as
PORT=`echo 'STREAM' | nc 127.0.0.1 4271 | awk '{print $2}'`
but this command never exits so...
How do I exit this comand once I have the PORT variable set?

Do you have a process listening to port 4271 on your system?
You might need to arrange for nc to be interrupted after some short time. Maybe
(echo STREAM | nc 127.0.0.1 4271 & sleep 10 && kill %1) | awk...

Autogroup patch 'breaks' "nice" command.

Hi all,
I just had a look how the nice command works together with the autogroup patch. (See i.e. this discussion: https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=108516, or the links at the end of the post).
While the default behaviour is consistent, it is rather annoying:
Nice works only inside a group, while my processes (i.e. compilation + some foreground task) run typically in different groups.
I hope someone can explain to me, what I am doing wrong. Processes are grouped by Session ID, and I get the following behaviour:
For me process priorities work now as follows:
- run several commands with different niceness levels from the same terminal: CPU time is divided according to niceness.
- run several commands with different niceness levels from different terminals: Every command gets the same amount of CPU.
- run several commands with different niceness levels in the same terminal, and run more processes with different niceness levels in different terminals: CPU time is first divided between the terminals evenly, and then subdivided according to niceness.
Running several commands from the GUI works the same as running from different terminals, i.e. the SID is different, and niceness is therefore ignored.
I start X and login using inittab and lxdm.
An easy 'fix' for this is disabling autogroup support:
echo 0 > /proc/sys/kernel/sched_autogroup_enabled

In various howtos see using the args array from main's signature. Some mystical commandline... As I understand, there's some way to compile and launch java prgms using only the jdk sourses. HOW?

ITunes 7.5 If It ain't fixed - don't break it!

Against my better judgement, I installed the iTunes update. I had just gotten used to Winamp 5.5 and my 160gb Classic. Call me a ****-eyed optimist for doing it but, what the heck. When I rebooted I got an svchost error (never got it before). Oops. Then iTunes 7.5 opened, connected to my iPod and proceeded to lock up almost immediately. At least 7.4 wouldn't freeze on me. A few reboots later I can confirm that iTunes 7.5 is no better that 7.4 and, actually, seems worse. Transfer times are still stupendously slow, the program just seems to lock up for minutes at a time, unable to do anything else. I hope I can find 7.4 to go back to (if someone has a link for it could they post it?). For now, I'll stick with Winamp 5.5. Someone else here referred to the company as crApple. I'm beginning to wonder. I was so excited about finally buying an iPod and it's been nothing but a headache.

It is hard to say what particular part of the Windows installation is having trouble. Keep in mind that any installation of software as complicated (CD burning, device drivers, network discovery, video playback, Internet connectivity) as iTunes is going to touch many parts of the installed OS. Any corruption in the places touched could be exacerbated by the update.
iTunes 7.5 has been available for download from Apple for over 6 hours now, and so far it appears that you are the only person reporting this specific problem here. While it's still possible that iTunes is the culprit, it seems more likely that there is some other variable involved.
You could start by isolating away user-specific files by testing the issue in a new Windows user. Import a few CDs into a pristine iTunes library in the default location (in your Music folder on the C: drive) and that eliminates a lot of possible causes.
