DotNet Web Controls 3.0 Auto-refresh Adaptive portlet javascript error

Hi-
I am getting this javascript error: "A Runtime Error has occurred. Error: 'PTLoader' is undefined", when trying to run a Auto-refresh portlet in Plumtree 6 with DotNet Web Controls 3.0
Thanks,-Raj

PTLoader is a separate JS library; not part of the .NET Web Controls. I expect that you are using this JS object but have not put the required JS file on the imageserver.

  • Refresh adaptive portlet

I have 2 different adaptive portlets on a page. The first portlet raises a PCC event that is registered on the second portlet. I need to refresh (not postback) the second portlet when it receives the event. I have accomplished this with PTHTTPGETRequest following master-detail pattern. My issue is there doesn't seem to be a safe way to get the div id generated by the .net web controls that wraps my portlet. I have hardcoded PTPortletDIV_$$TOKEN$$ as the div id, but according to Plumtree, this id might change. Is there a better way to get this div id?
    Thanks,
    Tanner

You say that you need to refresh the portlet - but not postback? Why not? Why can't you simply have the javascript function call __doPostback('','')? This will postback with no args so should not perform any logic on the server, just refresh.

  • Adaptive portlet solution- Inline-post

I have a search screen (portlet) and when the user submits I want to display the results in another portlet.I am planning to implement the inline-post in .net. Are there any examples of how to implement this in .net. PTHTTPPostrequest has a URL argument, should this be set to javascript or can this be a url to a remote service.

Generally if you are using ASP.NET, you should install the Plumtree EDK .NET Web Controls. These will provide you with adaptive portlet features, without you having to code the adaptive portlet javascript yourself.

  • How can I stop auto refreshing a new web page in XP immediately after its opened?

In XP, once I access a new web page Firefox auto refreshes that page once the page is ~80-90% opened - how can i stop this refresh?

Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of your add-ons is causing your problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).
See [[Troubleshooting extensions and themes]] and [[Troubleshooting plugins]]
If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all your extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears.
You can use "Disable all add-ons" on the ''Safe mode'' start window.
You have to close and restart Firefox after each change via "File > Exit" (on Mac: "Firefox > Quit")

  • Auto-sleep won't work when web pages auto-refresh

    Dear Apple,
Around 4 years ago, I noticed that my computer stopped going to sleep. I first noticed it shortly after adopting Gmail for my email platform and was subsequently able to isolate the issue down to Gmail and other websites, such as Huffington Post, which auto-refresh. Apparently, any website that auto-refreshes at shorter intervals than the auto-sleep is set to kick in, prevent the computer's auto-sleep function from activating.
I have spoken at length with AppleCare about this issue and understand that this is "by design." For instance, we wouldn't want the computer to constantly go to sleep while watching a movie or downloading and conversely, if we are actively working at our computers it's nice that Gmail auto-refreshes and keeps us appraised of incoming mail. However, since the vast majority of users now leave their browsers with multiple tabs open and due to the fact that more and more websites now auto-refresh, the auto-sleep function has become outdated and non-functional. While users can always manually put their computers to sleep, everyone at some time or another forgets to do so. This is exactly why computers are supposed to auto-sleep in the first place. Aggregated across millions of users, this results in a huge waste of electricity.
I've been writing/calling Apple (through AppleCare and the online feedback form) about this issue for 4 years now. I keep hoping that with each operating system release, some sort of "smart auto-sleep" function will be incorporated that will recognize when websites auto-refresh and still allow auto-sleep to kick in. Unfortunately, this does not appear to be the case in Lion.
I work in the energy efficiency field, specifically in lighting, and care deeply about this issue. I consider Apple to be an industry leader on this issue as well. I'm not familiar with the technical side of this issue, but I assume that with the right type of programming, the operating system could override a webpage's auto-update feature and activate auto-sleep, while not interfering with functions where a user would not want the computer to go to sleep, such as watching a movie. With Lion, Apple has focused its energy on making the computer adjust to the user, rather than the user adjusting to the computer. Yet, in this case, it appears to be the other way around.
It is time for Apple to update the auto-sleep function so that it takes into account websites that auto-refresh. When I set my computer to auto-sleep after so many minutes, I want it to do so, regardless of whether I have a browser with auto-updating websites open. Apple must take this issue seriously, as the wasted electricity is too important to ignore any longer.
    Sincerely,
    An Energy-Conscious User

I am obviously talking to Apple AND I posted this letter here, because a lot users seem confused about why their computers won't sleep. Even most AppleCare reps are confused. In the past, I couldn't find much in the way of explanations pointing to this issue, so I thought I post it here in case other people are looking for an explanation.
The auto-sleep function was built before websites auto-updated and needs to be updated to accomodate them. For the average user, it doesn't make sense for the computer not to sleep just because Gmail is open. Just because some website auto-refreshes in my browser, doesn't mean I never want my computer to sleep. By the same token, if I wanted to turn off auto-sleep I could easily do so from within Energy Saver Preferences. The two should be independent, so the user has the choice.
Why should I have to close my browser every time I walk away from my computer in order for it to sleep? I've acknowledged that in certain circumstance it makes sense for the computer not to auto-sleep: watching a movie, uploading, etc, but Apple has already accounted for those instances because the computer does not auto-sleep when those programs are running. All I'm suggesting is making the auto-sleep mechanism more sophisticated so that it isn't overridden by websites auto-refreshing.
Why the negative attitude, dwb? Based on the amount of time you spend in these discussion forums, you obviously never turn your computer off, so this doesn't really affect you. Maybe it's time to step outside and get some fresh air?

  • 2.2 Web Controls

    Greetings,
Using the same example in the Calendar Web Controls, I am trying to create a simple form where, user type in a value and click on the button - it should then display the value on the same portlet (without refereshing the entire page). Just as the sample provided in Calendar web control sample - In my WebConfig file I have the following line of code: <httpModules> <!-- Plumtree .NET Web Controls Support--> <add type="Com.Plumtree.Remote.Loader.TransformerProxy, Plumtree.WCLoader, Version=2.2.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=d0e882dd51ca12c5" name="PTWCFilterHttpModule" /> </httpModules>
    On my aspx page I have: <form id="Form1" method="post" runat="server"> <P>This portlet uses Plumtree Web Controls:</P> <P>Display the results using the Plumtree Web Controls in-page post.</P> <P><asp:label id="lblLabel" runat="server">Your Value: </asp:label><asp:textbox id="Value_TextBox" runat="server"></asp:textbox></P> <P> <asp:Button id="btnClick" runat="server" Text="Click"></asp:Button></P> <P><asp:label id="lblResult" runat="server"></asp:label></P> </form>
And on my code behid page I have: Private Sub btnClick_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles btnClick.Click lblResult.Text = Value_TextBox.Text End Sub
The question is am I missing anything else, do I need to provided the adaptive java scripts within my aspx page.Any help would be appreciated,Thankx

We get that error a lot with the portlets that use the web controls. We traced it in TCPTrace and found that the portal itself is having a hard time loading all the js files for the web controls. The real problem is with the gateway not loading the files fast enough. The portlet seems to timeout, but the error is immediate. We have opened several tickets on this matter all to no avail. Currently the 'solution' is to refresh the page or just not use the web controls anymore. We catch all exceptions within our code which show nothing because the problem is actually with gateway.
Has anyone experienced this and found a real solution?

  • Broadcasting of workbooks, auto-refresh and other questions

    Hello Reporting gurus.
Our users run BEX Analyser queries but this is evolving towards more automation and fancy things. A lot of threads exist on the subject but I have not been able to find clear answers. We are on BI 7.
    1) How do we use the broadcaster to refresh workbooks and output the results to a network share drive.
    2) Queries being part of the workbooks work with user input variables. Do I have to change all queries (or create new ones identical) with user exits variables to fill in the fields for auto-refreshing w(ith let say the current year and current fiscal period etc...) ?
    3) Is it possible to create a parameter input screen to pass on variables values to the broadcaster before the auto-refresh takes place so that I don't have to create user exit variables ?
    4) How can we view workbooks with the BEX WEB Analyser ? Or do we have to create an application with WAD ?
    Thanks

    Hi Yves,
in Analyzer you have an menu entry publish with BI broadcaster, then a broadcaster will appear. there you can create a setting. inside that setting you can use a variant and with SPS 13 also variable sets. There you can define the users who should receive the updated workbook by mail. It is not possible to save to file system, but you can save in Portal.Web Analyzer is only to use with WAD and is not able to process Workbooks.
    best regards,

  • Outlook 2007 won't auto refresh the internet calendar

    HI,
I subscribed a web ical with the instruction (File > Account Settings and then the Internet Calendars
Tab, then click New and enter the path)
    for outlook 2007:
the new calendar could display all the events correctly after set up, but it won't update the new event anymore automatically. even I close and re-open the outlook, it still not update, the last update time is the time when set up this calendar.
for outlook 2010, i tested, it can auto update the internet calendar when open the outlook everytime.
is this the problem with outlook 2007?
(I don't want user to press F9 to refresh everytime)
and i also tried to add X-PUBLISHED-TT property in the iCal file and it seems not working also
    Please help ! Thanks !

     Hi
    zhenyun,
Sorry for Late reply, if you are still facing same
issue then you should go for some kind of auto refresh plug-in or Add-in. After a bit search on Google, I found some of them called
    “Zoho” and “Vtiger”.
As I am not much sure about this Add-in, you have to read about
its functionally first by visiting given link.

  • ADF Application gets auto refreshed

    Hi
i have my ADF application deployed in one of the weblogic clustered server. There are four weblogic managed cluster.
In my application i am reading a csv file and performing some user operation with OIM.
It is taking much time around more than 5 min (i guess performance issue) and after that the application gets refreshed and back to home page is displayed where as in logs i am getting the debugs of file read.
Its only the application page that gets auto refreshed....
    Please help !!!
from where the application get refreshed? is this a weblogi clustered application issue??
i tried the same application in another server where the application process the same file quickly(with less time) and no refresh of application happens.
    Regards
    Sudeep

    hi Ramandeep
i just checked the web.xml... the session timeout is not set in my application... so for that is there any default value for the application to get timeout?
and in my scenario i am not getting session time out message in my UI .... that session has been timedout please refresh or retry ...
    the page gets totally refreshed.
i guess this is the problem of failure of HTTP sessions in clustered web logic where the connection in promary fails trys to connect secoundary cluster and if that fails the HTTP page gets refreshed....
can u please suggest if i am getting the problem correct or not ??
    Regards

  • FireFox won't auto-refresh specific site, other browsers do. How can I get FF to auto-refresh?

I have a Help Desk application (everything HelpDesk) with a web interface. I keep my queue screen open so I can see new tickets come in and check status of existing tickets. FireFox does not auto-refresh this queue page so that new items or status changes show up. The page must be manually re-loaded in FireFox. However, other browsers (Chrome, IE, Safari) auto-refresh the queue page just fine. How can I get FireFox to auto-refresh this page?

    See:
*Firefox/Tools > Options > Advanced > General : Accessibility : [ ] "Warn me when web sites try to redirect or reload the page"
The setting in "Tools > Options > Advanced > General" is meant as an accessibility feature, as you can see by the label of that section, so that people with disabilities or people who use screen readers do not get confused and is not meant as a safety protection to stop redirecting.

  • Environment selection problem at web control panel start

    Hi everybody.
We are facing some problems after BPC web control panel logon. It appears a popup window asking for an environment selection. After that, the browser is refreshed and the popup appears again.
This is the popup. Can someone help us? Thanks in advance.
    Best regards,
    Julián.

    Hi Andy,
We tried clearing the cache of the browser, temporal windows files, clearing the server cache via
http://<server>:<port>/sap/epm/bpc/web/clearcache  and http://<server>:<port>/sap/epm/bpc/web/resetcachebuster urls and accessing via /sap/epm_bpc/web but the result was always the same: after a few accesses, the popup appears again.
As an extra data, we configure SCPM in the server some time ago. Could this be the cause of the system behavior?
Thanks again to all of you.
    Julian.

  • LUMIRA Server Auto refresh reports

    Hi,
In Lumira Server 1.17. Is it possible to auto-refresh reports without refreshing the web page? Only when I refresh the page, then the data gets updated.
    Thanks.

    Hi Cherry,
I believe the only option to schedule a refresh of a Lumira data set is when it is based on a .UNX universe. The BI 4.1 platform will enable this functionality from within the CMC. Here you can schedule a refresh and the data will be updated on the HANA platform.
Please let me know if you have any additional questions!
    With kind regards,
