Dots and commas in numbers
Hey, I'm doing my budget in numbers and I can't figure out how to get numbers to let me use dots instead of commas when writing sums. I'd like to be able to wrote 320.50 instead of 320,50 (320 kroner and 50 øre). I'm from Denmark and i've always been used to write dots so now I keep making mistakes.
Change the Localization settings in System Preferences. Open System Prefs using the menu item " > System Preferences" then choose the "Language and Region" Panel:
Now click the "+" to add the language you want and drag it to the top of the list. You may have to logout and back in (or reboot)

I have Apple's numeric pad keybord. Unfortunately, I dont know how to change the input of the "dot" key on the number pad, so that I get a comma in Numbers sheet, which would allow me to use decimals when working with numbers.

Are there any settings in System Preferences > Keyboard?
Perhaps the Input Sources Tab may help.
You can also get there from System Preferences > Language & Region > (set your preferences, then click on the Keyboard Preferences button).

Go to SU3 and in the "Defaults" tab, choose your choice.

How can I change dot by comma in a report?
Hi. I'm working with 6.5.1, full client and webi, but I have not been able to change the numeric format 2.333,00 by 2,333.00. I mean, dot by comma for tens and dot for decimal.
I checked the configuration in bo server and pc client, and the format is correct, but the report show me 2.333,00.

You have the option to specify the format within the report itself.
-Create a report using reporter
-go to Format on the menu bar
-click and select "cell"
-the format window opens-> select the "Number" tab
-choose "Number" and select a format from available options or customize in the properties section.

I had final cut express 4 already installed on my new macbook pro at the shop but I'm trying to open it up and it wants my serial number. I've typed in the number on the disc labelled 'product serial number' but it won't accept it. The number has lots of dots and dashes in it and I've tried typing these as well, but to no avail. What can I do?
You do need the dashes.
Also double check that O & 0, I & 1 are not being confused.
The serial no. pretty much follows a three numbers then three letters approach.

I have requirement where I need to print the amounts with space as thousand seperator and comma as decimal seperator.
I have a field wrshb which is of type mhnd-wrshb. currently I am printing this. In the adobe layout I have declared this coloumn as Decimal field.
Now in the output it is printing as comma as thousand seperator and dot as decimal seperator.
For example ,currently the value is printing as 32,811.41
but I want the amount as 32 811,41
I have declared the variable as char16, using write statement in the interface I moved the value from currency field to char field.
Then in debugging i checked the value comes as 32,811.41 and it goes to dump with teh reason-cannot interpret as a number.
Can anyone help me in fixing this?

As per initial requirement, I have set the format such that the amount is printing in below format as required.
Locale---Italian.
Space as thousand seperator and comma as decimal seperator.
for example 1 234,45
As some of the Currencies will not have decimals, now users would like to print amount without decimals. For example in my case amount printing in KRW ( Korean currency ) is also similar to the above format which is wrong.
for example Now amount is printing as 55 000,00. But actually it should be 550 000. Similarly for JPY currency also, as it doesnot haves decimals ( checked in TCURX table ).
I have written some logic in the interface. below is the logic.
WRITE:

a. when the write statement gets executed amount will be in ,. ( 1,234.45 )format. Then my logic gets executed correctly. In this company code is CH10 ( EUR ) and KR10.
b. But sometimes after the write statement gets executed amount will be in ., format ( 1.234.45 ). In this case my logic works, but gives the wrong value. In this case company code is VN10 ( EUR )
In both the cases currency is EUR.
Will the decimal format change accordingly based on the company code code currency.Can you please tell me why write statement behaved differently.
Do I need to change any locale in the adobe form, or any other logic to be written in interface. ? I am trying it out from long time, but not able to fix it.

COPA for Royalties and commissions
Hi All,
At the client, we pay royalties & commission based on the merchandize we sell and we calculate the margins based on the same. When a sales order gets raised... depending upon the shipment/fulfillment of the order the invoice gets raised and as per the invoice the royalties & commission need to be calculated. That reflects the exact amount on balance sheet. i was checking the COPA extractor tables (CE1, CE2, CE3, CE4... Considering the issue i certainly can not use COPA for royalties & commission reporting, as royalties & commission is calculated based on sales order and NOT whether the order is fulfilled/partially filled/never executed etc.. What is the solution to this ? How do i get commissions and royalties only when the invoice is raised and not when Sales order is created.

SyedHi, you will normally let royalties and commissions be handled by SD. In SD they have some nice features for controlling these things incl. settlement, prepayments, calculations of the exact amount to be transferred to CO-PA!
The calculation of royalties and commissions should be handled by the SD priceschema where you assign all kind of fields, amounts, numbers etc. And if that is not enough can they use TA VOFM to create the calculation you need!
Depending on its a make-to-stock scenario will the figures be transferred to CO-PA on the billing time (invoice) or in or made-to-order scenarios when the production orders/sales orders are settled.
What is left in CO-PA is to assign the values to relevant CO-PA values fields so the bottom-line is; its possible to report royalties and commissions in CO-PA (you might need to make a report in reportpainter).
Have in mind that the main setup of royalties and commissions are to be found in the SD setup of rebates!

There are a huge number of factors that affect the numbers that you are talking about so we cannot simply give a figure. We can quite figures for very specific workloads on very specific hardware but that may not be so helpful to you. By far the best way is to try TimesTen out with your workload on your hardware.
Typical figures for TimesTen 11.2.2 running on a modern Intel Xeon 64-bit CPU with a clock speed of around 2.7 GHz in direct mode with the TPTBM benchmark that ships as part of TimesTen are around 2.4 microseconds for a key based single row SELECT and around 7.7 microseconds for a committed single row key based update.

Problem with sqlldr and commit
Hi,
i have a problem with sqlldr and commit.
I have a simple table with one colum [ col_id number(6) not null ]. The column "col_id" is primary key in the table. I have one file with 100.000 records ( number from 0 to 99.999 ).
I want load the file in the table with sqlldr ( sql*loader ) but i want commit only if all records are loaded. If one record is discarded i want discarded all record of file.
The proble is that in coventional path the commit is on 64 row but if i want the same records of file isn't possible and in direct path sqlldr disable primary key :(
There are a solutions?

i spend a long time to try to sync my itunes music on my ipod 160 GB Classic, but after waiting so long get a pop up message that itunes stop syncing because of error 46, some times giving me 58, 1469, and many other numbers, please help am using macbook pro
That is precisely what my mid-2010 MacBoook Pro 13 was doing before the drive finally died after an Apple Genius rebooted it a dozen or so times. I have since read about the exact same thing happening to others, including a writer for The Atlantic magazine who had never had an issue with a Mac before. Do a back-up ASAP to make sure you don't lose anything and see about replacing the HDD. It is only about $140 for a new drive. The real issue is if you lose your data, too. So, make sure you do that back-up!

How to block reusage of archived Project definition and WBS element numbers
Dear All,
We have archived our projects using the TC SARA and the Project definition and WBS elements numbers no more exist in tables PROJ and PRPS etc.. When I now try to create a new project, the system proposes the next open number or allows to enter a number which is the same as one of the archived projects. But in our organization we cannot reuse the Project definition and WBS element numbers (even if it is archived) as a rule.
Can anybody guide me what are the possibilities to block or avoid the reusage of the numbers of archived project definition and WBS elements in a fool-proof way?

I am using CC adobe Acrobat to combine multiple pdfs and add page numbers. As of about 2 weeks ago the mac users can no longer read the page numbers they get a font error message and see only -- where the page information should be. The pc users do not have this same problem. When I replace our regular font (URW Grotesk) with a system font (Verdana) everyone is able to read the page numbers. This is a new issues, I have been creating these documents in the same way for years without a problem. I have been on hold and on and off calls for the last two hours, I keep getting hung up on once I find someone in adobe support to talk to!

Need to Return immediately and commit the App Module on a different thread
I have an action that I want to return fast (immediately) but the server processing takes longer than acceptable. The results of the operation don't matter to the page submitting it and I want it to be able to navigate away even if the operation is not complete. I want to either be able to send a non-blocking server event from the browser or on the server side start a new thread that performs the operation allowing the original thread to return immediately. The new thread would need access to an Application Module in order to commit data. How would I go about accomplishing this?
Some thoughts
I've tried creating a ConcurrentLinkedQueue and putting the DataControl on the que, then in the other thread I pull it off the que, process and commit the data. This works unless the page is navigated away from. Then calling dc.getApplicationModule(); returns null.
I thought about using createRootApplicationModule in the new thread (since the new thread has no context) but don't know how that would work
This is the code in the run method of the new thread. In this example, I'm adding data to the app module in the original thread and committing the data in a new thread.

The use case is a performance logging operation. We have a internal web app used by a network of franchises with over 1000 users. We log response time and performances statistics to the database. When the user clicks to navigate or commit data, the response time that the user experiences is logged after the page has fully rendered either through a PPR or a full submit. This is done by submitting ADFCustomEvent from javascript on the page after rendering is complete.. The event sends up the time difference from when the user first clicked to when the page was fully rendered. This information is then merged with logged events stored on the users Session that shows the name and response time of every query that was executed during the previous request. Depending on the page this could be up to half dozen to a dozen or more queries. The logging operation as experienced by the browser is generally fast (<200ms) but sometimes can be as long as a second or more when the database gets busy. A half second is too long as makes the app appear sluggish if the user can't type or click immediately after the page has finished rendering. The logged data is aggregated so we know exactly how much of the page load was due to a slow browser/network, how much was database time, webservice call time, etc... If it's due to a slow database we can drill down and see which query is the culprit. These performance metrics are critical to operations and are charted throughout the day so we know exactly what our users are experiencing. All of our users use a custom firefox client that we control. Using this logging framework we were able to determine that upgrading to a Firefox 4.0 based client cut browser render time by more than half a second on average. We can also tell what type of hardware the user is running so can place the blame for poor performance where appropriate. We have determined that pages render considerably faster on Windows 7 than on Windows 98 with the same hardware. We are moving the logging tables off of our exadata database to a separate box to remove that load from the application database. Since we expect the other database not to perform as well we don't want it to affect the user experience, hence the need to log asynchronously. I would like to put the data on a queue and have a background daemon process read from the queue and commit to the database. I would like the daemon thread to be able to use BC components. I would prefer not to resort to using a web service because of the inherent overhead. The logging operation is not a long operation but is of high frequency so should be as streamlined as possible. The load is spread over 6 servers with 4 JVM's each (24 weblogic instances). I know it's possible to use BC components from a plain Servlet (which runs on it's own thread) so what I want is to have something like a servlet thread that loops forever processing my logging queue.
One other method I am investigating is using my own non-blocking ajax call that callls a servlet to perform the logging. I will need to pull out the timestamp contained within a client side ADF component along with the pages ctrl-state variable that is included with every ADF request as it uses this as the key to get to the data on the session. ADF really needs a non-blocking ADFCustomEvent for this type of request. (send and don't care about the response)

I also tried calling the noResponseExpected() method on the event before queuing it but it still blocked the UI and caused an additional side effect in that the client sent two ajax requests instead of one. It somehow thought something on the client side needed to be synced with the server.
