Doubt reg submit in a program and transportation.

Hi Folks,
I have a report XYZ in which 2 other reports named ABC and DEF
were submitted using SUBMIT.
I had made some corrections in the report DEF and duly transported
the same DEF to Quality and prodcution.
My question is, do I need to transport the program XYZ too as it
is using this program DEF(for which the corrections were made) again
to quality and production.

The submit is like this
SUBMIT zmm_rept_rg1_det_003_new WITH
 SELECTION-TABLE fp_it_rsparams AND RETURN.
And in the above submit program there is a date field in the selection-screen.
and we have done a minor change in the where clause of this program

 APPENDING CORRESPONDING FIELDS OF TABLE it_bal1
 WHERE matnr = itab6-matnr
 AND datum LE p_stdate
 AND datum < p_stdate
 AND exgrp = itab6-exgrp.
earlier it used to be EQ.
So, you mean to as the submit done with the selection screen I need to transport even the program which is using this program.

In ECC6 when I write a subroutine it is creating separate include , then how it is taken care of in the transport request? Do I need to keep track of all the includes that get created this way in the request??

Hi sameer,
When you create a subroutine, (By double clicking on the subroutine name), the pop up will be checked by default with a new include name.
You can over ride that include by selecting the same program in that pop up.
But, even if you create one include for each subroutine, they would all be in the same request. That is taken care of by the system. You don't need to worry in any case.

How to catch errors in calling program when using SUBMIT ... AND RETURN ?

Hi ,
I am calling a report using submit and return statement from a function module. The report has select-options field for a date field. If user enters a date in low, which is greater than high, getting error message "Lower limit is greater than upper limit".
How to catch this error without endup stoping on selection screen of the report?
In the documentation, I read :
Programs called with SUBMIT ... AND RETURN or CALL TRANSACTION cannot propagate exceptions to the caller, because exception objects are bound to the internal mode of a program.
Is there any way to overcome this?
Also my aim is to write a validation on the date selection-option to have the date range not more than 20 days.
I am not sure of how to achieve this.
Is there a way to do validation of select-options data before submiting to the report ?
Is there any standard FM to achieve this task?

Hi Surya ,
In your function module's code validate the date .
If the low value of the date less than high and date period is not more than 20 then
call transaction and in else condition raise exception.
In your FM write like that - -
IF   date-low LT date-high AND
                       date_difference LE '20' .
CALL TRANSACTION   'transaction'.
ELSE.
RAISE ........... " Raise the invalid date exception
ENDIF.

Multiple driver program and forms - Reg

Hai Gurus,
we are using Ecc.5.0 last 5 years. At present we are using out put Excise Invoice printing programs through menu based. The out put printing program are now desinged distribution channel wise.so, now we have arround 5 programs and 4 smart forms and 1 script.
Now the managment willing to move menu based to standard output determination method. Is it possible to convert it using the old programs and smart forms. if it is possible pl.suggest how to do it. we have tried with single program with smartform.it is working but distribution channel based not possible to do it.We have used program RVCOMFZZ with user exit "USEREXIT_KOMKBV3_FILL".
pl.suggest it.

Tadir and Transport

Hi,
i am a newbie and have some doubts in the basic transport model..
I have an object name which is around 90 char.In the transport request table e071 this poses no problem , however in the tadir table the obj name field is only 40 char..is there any solution..
Can i have some other name in TADIR for the same object and a different one in EO71??

which object you are talking about
for ex is it a program or func group etc..
the obj name field in table E071 is given for the objects which we save under one request it may be any kind of objects like for ex we can save a program and a LSMW object under one request so both of these objects will be saved in the table E071.
where as in TADIR table it is Object Name in Object Directory as per the field description.
as per you explanation if you can say the exact problem which you are facing with this lenghth difference

in case of regeneration programe name i got answer programame name will be change, i created and modified query but i saw the same programe name ,,, may be it changed when it is trasnported if so then what ??

Dear Farukh,
As we know,
Query is created in Production server and a corresponding program is generated by System.
What we have to do is just to assign the program to the desired transaction code in Development server and transport it.
If you have any doubts please let me know.

There are different ways of fetching data from these infotypes.
There are different areas in HR LIKE Personal Admn, Orgn Management, Benefits, Time amangement, Event Management, Payroll etc
Infotypes for these areas are different from one another area.
storing of records data in each type of area is different
LDBS like PNP are used in HR programing.
Instead of Select.. we use some ROUTINES and PROVIDE..ENDPROVIDE.. etc
and in the case of Pay roll we use Clusters and we Import and Export them for data fetching.
On the whole Normal ABAP is different from HR abap.
For Personal Admn the Infotypes start with PA0000 to PA1999
Time Related Infotypes start with PA2000 to PA2999.
Orgn related Infotypes start with HRP1000 to HRP1999.
All custom developed infotypes stsrat with PA9000 onwards.
In payroll processing we use Clusters like PCL1,2,3 and 4.
Instead of Select query we use PROVIDE and ENDPROVIDE..
You have to assign a Logical Database in the attributes PNP.

Dear all,
I want to submit a concurrent program from pl/sql. But I failed. Please help me.
Detail:
I create a concurrent program in 'Cash Management, Vision Operations (USA)' responsibility. And it be submitted success in EBS.
Then
I create a test script in pl/sql. And use 'FND_GLOBAL.APPS_INITIALIZE' to initialize ebs, then use 'FND_REQUEST.SUBMIT_REQUEST' to submit
the consurrent program, But the procedure aways return 0.
I cannot found the reason. Please help me.Thanks.

Can you check from which schema you are executing FND_REQUEST? You can try as follows;
Connect to your required schema, create a synonym on apps.fnd_request, connect from apps and finally execute grant all on apps.fnd_request to all.

How to submit a report program to a standard program.

I want to submit a report program to a slection screen program which is standard with some values. can any one help me out.
here is the code.

Whenever I connect to the iTunes store i receive an error message "iTunes has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available." This causes iTunes to close. I am using iTunes version 10.5.0.142 on a Windows Vista (64) PC. I have reinstalled iTunes selecting the "repair" option and also uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes. Any help will be deeply appreciated. Thank you. Below is the result of the diagnositc.

Same exact thing with me. And no help from apple. Just dropped nearly $600 and cannot get a decent working setup.
Apple's only suggestion was to uninstall iTunes and Quicktime, and re-install... of course (the I.T. Crowd tactic).
The crash happens only on iTunes store access.

Submit Trnsc in Background and know the Sucess/failure status

I need to submit a transaction with variants in the background. I need to knwo whether the transaction completed successfully or failed in my Program and then send an email to a list of people based on the status .
Can anyone tell me how to achieve this? How to know in the program that the transaction completed/failed?

If you had scheduled a transaction with some variants as a background job then I believe you should be able to see whether that is successful or not using transaction se37.
If you want to send an email of the output of that job then you may have to set up groups in lotus notes or outlook and the people in that group will receive an email when the job is succesfully finished or failed otherwise.
There is a FM which will help you to display the detail log of the background jobs. Do a displaylog* in se37 transaction.

Please let me know is it possible to restrict some users to submit a Concurrent program during a selected time frame .
Eg we have an issue in which Process Lockboxes concurrent Program is submitted by the batch user and is also by the Users manually from Front end .What I want is that during a particular time frame everyday say from 12:00 AM to 6 PM I want to restrict manual users to submit this program ,whereas the Program can be submitted by the Batch user any time .
Please let me if its possible to achieve this and how .

Object locked after Release and Transport to QAS/PRD

During an attempted recovery of our DEV system, a tranport request that had been previously released and transported to QAS/PRD was copied back into the DEV system, over-writing an open change request (and associated lock) on the program.
As a result the object shows as 'Locked' in DEV, but the lock entry is on a 'Released' transport.
I have reviewed tables E070 and E071, and as expected the entries for the program show that the transport was released.
Table TLOCK contains an entry for the program indicating that it is locked under the change request described above, that has already be released.
I logged a message with SAP, and was directed to create a new change request and assign the program to that request. While this does work, and allows me to make corrections and transport them, it does not assign a lock to the new transport, and does not clear the existing lock.
The other comment in the message was that once a transport is released, the only other option is to 'hack the tables', but I am not sure I am ready to go that route.
Has anyone ever encountered this situation, and if so, do you have any situations as to how to clear the lock entry ?

I think the problem in your case coould be that the Concurrent Program you are trying to run has not been registered in the responsibility from which you are runnig it.
For eg. You are trying to run a program from Inventory Super User responsibility and the request group attached to the responsibility is say 'RG Inventory', but the concurrent program which you are trying to run from your inventory super user responsibility is registered under some other request group say 'RG Order Mangement' which is not attached to the nventory responsibility.
So register the program under correct request group and see if this helps you.
Other possibility is that check if you have permission to submit request from that responsibility. You can check this by going to the Menu ->View If the Request menu is disabled then you cannot submit the request.

Doubt reg submit in a program and transportation.
