Doubts in ORacle 11G B2B

Hi Gurus,
Can anyone help me in understanding all the below related in oracle 11G B2B
1. While creating a document type, we have a parameter called FA on ERROR, What is FA on error?
2.while creating a channel for remote trading partner we have an option called proxy, Any idea abt this ?
3. We have a option in 10 G B2B like "functional acknowledgement handle by integration B2B" do we have this option in 11G
4. Can 11G B2B handle CBOD Ex: in EDI we have a 997 for inbound or outbound we send 997 as FA, can we do this for OAGIS files.....
5. Can i have a 11G B2B important tables names and query to check the inbound and outbound messages....
Thanks

1. While creating a document type, we have a parameter called FA on ERROR, What is FA on error?Guess , you are talking about OAG document . "FA on Error" is used for confirmation flag value '1'.
2.while creating a channel for remote trading partner we have an option called proxy, Any idea abt this ?This is for proxy setting . when message are going via proxy then this has to be enabled and proxy setting has to be done in weblogic server.
3. We have a option in 10 G B2B like "functional acknowledgement handle by integration B2B" do we have this option in 11GYes. This is available in configuraion tab of Administation page .
4. Can 11G B2B handle CBOD Ex: in EDI we have a 997 for inbound or outbound we send 997 as FA, can we do this for OAGIS files.....Yes. SOA11gPS2 can handle CBOD and correlate with request message too. There are many featues in OAG. like B2B can generate the CBOD , can validate the message against xsds and many more.Drop a mail to know more.
5. Can i have a 11G B2B important tables names and query to check the inbound and outbound messages....You can refer to below threads;

  • Oracle 11g B2B commandline utilities to manage trading partners, agreements

    Hi,
    I am working on Oracle 11g b2b server configured with ebMS messaging protocol. My host trading partner is having more number of remote trading partners and hence more agreements. I am exploring the possible means of automating the creation and deployment of trading partners, creation and deployment of agreements and updating some of the trading partners configuration through commanline utilities. Are there any commandline utilities available to do these activities as a self-service in Oracle 11g b2b server? I couldn't find the details in b2b user guide document. Hence I need help to identify this facility.
    Regards,
    Bps

    Hello Bps,
    In section 18 - B2B Command Line Tools, of Oracle B2B 11g user guide, it is mentioned that -
    Self-service APIs are not available in this release.and as far as I know these API's are still not released. Please contact Oracle Support to get formal confirmation about the date when it may be released. You may also ask for any workaround available.
    Please refer below link for all command line tools available -
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E12839_01/integration.1111/e10229/scrpt_imp_exp_dep.htm#BABEACGI
    In 11g, all the commandline utilities are listed in single ant script, which is located at $SOA_HOME/bin/ant-b2b-util.xml file.

  • Oracle 11g b2b server JMS Internal Delivery Channel Configuration

    Hi,
    I am using Oracle 11g b2b server configured with ebMS protocol. I have created a JMS internal delivery channel at host trading partner. Now the Inbound message (message from remote trading partner) will be delivered to back-end application through the jms internal delivery channel. Now I wanted to send this message to the another weblogic server domain which is hosted on another box. So where do I give the other weblogic domain details such that the message will be delivered from the host trading partner's b2b server to remote weblogic domain queue?
    Regards,
    Baskaran

    Hi Baskaran,
    As already mentioned by Nitesh, You can Create a Internal JMS Delivery channel and configure the same in your agreement to route the messages to the remote weblogic(domain) JMS queue.
    Remote weblogic domain's ip address and port details can be configured as part of JMS Internal Delivery channel, "Destination Provider" like below,
    eg.
    java.naming.provider.url=t3://<host>:<port>;java.naming.factory.initial=weblogic.jndi.WLInitialContextFactory;java.naming.security.principal=<username>;java.naming.security.credentials=<password>
    In this case the messages directly delivery to the remote JMS queue.

  • Oracle 11g B2B resubmission commanline utility

    Hi,
    Do we have the commandline resubmission option available with Oracle 11g b2b server to resubmit a application message or a wire message?
    Regards,

    Hello Bp,
    In 11g, Resubmission is UI based and is a manual operation. Please refer section "16.1.3 - Resubmitting Messages from Oracle B2B" at below link-

    Hi,
    Where you read "Process Protocol Revisions"? This should be Document Protocol Revision, I think.

  • Handling Space as Delimiter in Oracle 11g B2B

    Hi All,
    Greetings to B2B Gurus!!!
    We are receiving Input Purchase Order files from our customer with Space as Element delimiter but this is causing an issue while processing the Input EDI file as if the data coming in EDI file contains any space then its considered as 2 different element. Please find the example below.
    ISA 00 00 16 0819405530A10 01 061079273 120521 1819 U 00401 200020625 0 P <~
    GS PO 081940553 061079273 20120521 1819 20626 X 004010~
    ST 850 23524~
    BEG 00 NE 20-P1-670559 20120521~
    CUR SE USD~
    CTB OR SHIP IMMEDIATELY~
    Issue here is in CTB segment, SHIP IMMEDIATELY is coming as CTB02 element bud due to space delimiter, its taking SHIP as CTB02 and IMMEDIATELY as CTB03 element. Hot to handle this case in SOA 11g B2B?
    Any help on this is highly appreciated.
    Thanks in Advance,
    Saravana

    Hi Saravana,
    It's the problem with sending application. Ideally sending application should use Replacement Character delimiter to replace the delimiters existing in EDI X12 data.
    As per the functionality of replacement character, if a character contained in the payload data is also being used as a separator, then that separator character(s) found in the payload data should be replaced by the specified replacement character when sending the interchange.
    It is not considered as a good practice to choose separator's/delimiter's which can be easily part of the EDI data.

  • Index not being used in Oracle 11g

    Hi,
    I executed an SQL in Oracle 9i based on a Materialized View with an index. Execution plan shows it used Index and did Range scan. But the same query if I executed in Oracle 11g, it did full table scan and ignored the index. Finally, I used /*+Index*/ hint to tell compiler to use the index. Can anyone tell why it happended like this.
    below is the query.

    My doubt is only that is it possible that a SQL query with same index proprties uses different access path to execute. Is it dependent on oracle version also.
    Yes, it is possible.
    It is even possible on the same Oracle version - look at simple examples:
    case 1
    create table test as
    select level l, 'test' test from dual
    connect by level < 1000;
    create index test_ix on test(l);
    explain plan for
    select * from test where l < 50;
    select * from table(dbms_xplan.display);
    Plan hash value: 1408842701

    |*  2 |   INDEX RANGE SCAN          | TEST_IX |    49 |       |     2   (0)| 00:00:01 |
    Predicate Information (identified by operation id):
       2 - access("L"<50)
    Note
       - dynamic sampling used for this statement (level=2)case 2
    drop table test;
    create table test as
    select * from (
      select level l, 'test' test from dual
      connect by level < 1000
    ) order by dbms_random.value(0,100);
    create index test_ix on test(l);
    explain plan for
    select * from test where l < 50;
    select * from table(dbms_xplan.display);
    Plan hash value: 1357081020
    | Id  | Operation         | Name | Rows  | Bytes | Cost (%CPU)| Time     |
    |   0 | SELECT STATEMENT  |      |    49 |   931 |     3   (0)| 00:00:01 |
    |*  1 |  TABLE ACCESS FULL| TEST |    49 |   931 |     3   (0)| 00:00:01 |
    Predicate Information (identified by operation id):
       1 - filter("L"<50)
    Note
       - dynamic sampling used for this statement (level=2)The same query on the same table containing the same data in it. And the same index.
    The only difference is records order in the table.
    In the first case CBO decided that index range scan would be reasonable.
    In the second case CBO preferred FTS as less costly.

  • Oracle 11g bug ?!

    We are trying to execute a simple query of the form
    select * from sometable where upper(attr1) like 'WB%' or upper(attr2) like 'WB%' or upper(attr3) like 'WB%'
    The data does exist in the table but the query does not return values.
    Sometimes the count(*) on that table returns the correct number but the actual select statement does not return data.
    We have added a dummy where clause
    select * from sometable where upper(attr1) like 'WB%' or upper(attr2) like 'WB%' or upper(attr3) like 'WB%' or lower(attr2) like 'WB%' and the data does show up.
    We are on Oracle 11g 11.2.0.2 and have migrated recently from 10g. And this issue has started appearing after the migration.
    Any thoughts on what could be causing this issue ?
    Thanks

Hm. difficult but I doubt that you have a bug. I guess you have either some strange values or there is something in the full statement that is missing in your example.
    For example please be aware that the AND operator has a higher priority then the OR operator (is this way since oracle 7 at least).
    So if your real statement would include an and condition, this could produce unwanted outcome.
    select * from sometable
    where upper(attr1) like 'WB%'
         or upper(attr2) like 'WB%'
         or upper(attr3) like 'WB%'
         and lower(attr5) = 'XY' This is identical to:
    select * from sometable
    where upper(attr1) like 'WB%'
         or upper(attr2) like 'WB%'
         or (upper(attr3) like 'WB%' and lower(attr5) = 'XY' )But usually you want
    select * from sometable
    where (upper(attr1) like 'WB%' or upper(attr2) like 'WB%' or upper(attr3) like 'WB%')
            and lower(attr5) = 'XY' Some additon. Your condition could also be written like this. Maybe this helps to find the real cause of the error.
    select * from sometable
    where 'WB' in (substr(upper(attr1),1,2)
                       ,substr(upper(attr2),1,2)
                       ,substr(upper(attr3),1,2)
                       )I find this often to be better readable then a long LIKE + OR expression.

  • DO I NEED TO HAVE ORACLE 11G INSTALLED?

    Hi,
    I have never used Oracle before. I have a very basic doubt. I have a Peoplesoft Id and password. I wish to know if I need to have Oracle 11g installed on my laptop to be able to use Peoplesoft Code to create applications using an online database? Kindly let me know at the earliest and will be of great help.
    I greatly appreciate it.
    Thanks. :)

    You need to have app designer installed if you want to work with peopletools, which will allow you to connect 3-tier to running Oracle/Peoplesoft instance. If you want to connect 2-tier, then you'll need the 11g client installed.

  • Oracle 11g - Date Issue?

    Oracle 11g - Date Issue?
    =====================
    I hope this is the right forum for this issue, if not let me, where to go.
    We are using Oracle 11g (11.2.0.1.0) on (Platform : solaris[tm] oe (64-bit)), Sql Developer 3.0.04.
    Our NLS_DATE_FORMAT = 'DD-MON-RR'
    Using 'RR' in the format forces two-digit years less than or equal to 49 to be interpreted as years in the 21st century (2000–2049), and years 50 and over, as years in the 20th century (1950–1999). Setting the RR format as the default for all two-digit year entries allows you to become year-2000 compliant. For example:
    We have a date '01-JUN-31' in our source system. It treat this date as 01-JUN-2031' instead of '01-JUN-1931'. One century forward.
    Do we able to resolve using NLS_DATE_FORMAT change?
    How do we resolve this issue?
    Thanks in helping.

    qwe16235 wrote:
    Our source is Oracle data base, where S_date is defined as DATE. Why did you say STRING , when it defined as DATE data type?I doubt you source is an Oracle database. You may have it stored in an Oracle database, but it cam form somewhere else, and was very likely inserted into the table as a string, wherever it came from. Given a string that resembles a date, Oracle will try to convert it to a date using the nls_date_format parameter for the session (which can either be set in the session or inherited form the database). Perhaps this will help explain:
    SQL> create table t (conv_type varchar2(10), dt date);
    Table created.
    SQL> alter session set nls_date_format = 'dd-mon-rr';
    Session altered.
    SQL> insert into t values ('Implicit', '01-jun-31');
    1 row created.
    SQL> insert into t values ('Explicit', to_date('01-jun-1931', 'dd-mon-yyyy'));
    1 row created.
    SQL> commit;
    Commit complete.
    SQL> select conv_type, to_char(dt, 'dd-mon-yyyy') dt
      2  from t;
    CONV_TYPE  DT
    Implicit   01-jun-2031
    Explicit   01-jun-1931So, unless you are really inserting dates, not strings that look like dates, you are going to have problems.

  • Oracle 11g ODBC for Windows NT and Windows 95

    Hi
    Please does anyone knows where can I find this ODBC ? Oracle 11g ODBC for Windows NT and Windows 95
    I have test some ODBC from the Oracle page but doesnt work
    Thank you
    J.A.

    I'm thinking no.
    However I did find this which may help :
    http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/database/windows/odbcfaq-128251.pdf
    I did the search for 16 bit in it and found some interesting information.
    The other piece of information I can share is the Oracle 11 client has issues connecting to Oracle 9.
    An Oracle 10 clients might have a better chance, but the catch is finding it.
    The last client I remember working on these OS's was Oracle 8. But I doubt that will connect to Oracle 11.

  • Failover not working while connecting to Oracle 11g database

    Hi,
    We have a J2EE application that connects to Oracle 11g database.
    The connection URL we are using is as below
    jdbc:oracle:thin:@(DESCRIPTION =(SDU=32768)(ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=TCP)(HOST=abc.hostname.com)(PORT=1525))(ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=TCP)(HOST= xyz.hostname.com)(PORT=1525))(CONNECT_DATA=(SERVICE_NAME=PQR)))
    The issue that we are facing is, the database failover is not working.The application only connects to the first host in the TNS entry.Evertime there is a failure in the connection to the first host,manual steps are required to swap the hosts.
    This started happening after we upgraded Oracle DB from 9i to 11g.
    We are using the client jar of 9i to connect to 11g. Could this be causing the problem?
    Thanks In Advance.

    Yes, you are right. Nothing else was updated.
    The application still works as expected except the failover.If you are correct then I seriously doubt it has anything to do with java. It would be something to do with Oracle and/or network infrastructure.
    If not then it is some small problem with the driver. You can try updating the driver but I wouldn't expect a fix.

    Jagadesh,
    Oracle 10g version is very old release of Oracle B2B. In the 11g or 12c release, it has been enhanced with many features, optimised,  integrated with SOA and it is very easy to use.
    Hence it is highly advised to install the later version of 11g or 12c.

    Incase if there is any issue in production environment of 10g, you might not get the support if you file any SR.
