You are going to have to get Steve Jobs to change his opinion about Flash which will be like getting a Baptist to drink beer, next to impossible.

Funny you mentioned that analogy... because John the Baptist was a heavy drinker... (could steve jobs be secretly accessing flash content on his ipad?)

  • I've down loaded adobe flash player but when I try to veiw video on firefox I'm still told that I need adobe flash player. How do I get firefox to see the flash player download?

I was trying to view a video I uploaded to facebook using firefox. The system told me to down load adobe flash player. I did but still get the message that I need to down load flash player. How do I get firefox to see the down loaded adobe flash player?

by installing from within Firefox, Internet Explorer has its own version (Active-X).
Make sure you are starting in the correct place for Flash
    * http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/
If you want to read PDF files in you browser, you might also want
    * http://get.adobe.com/reader/
    After the download,
#bring up the download manager ("Ctrl+J") and start your installs. As soon as the install comes up,
#close Firefox with '''File > Exit''' or "Firefox" button > Exit. Give Firefox some time to close.
#If install does not proceed, '''terminate "firefox.exe"''' and '''"plugin-container.exe"''' from the "Processes" tab in the Windows Task Manager.
#* Windows 7 shortcut to the WTM is "Ctrl+Shift+Esc"
#* or on any Windows system from "Ctrl+Shift+Esc" then choose Windows Task Manager.
#*Make sure that "firefox.exe" is no longer running -- if it is still running then terminate it by selecting the use "End Process" button or from context menu, and do the same for "plugin-container.exe" if it is found there.
    #proceed with the install.
'''Warning''': this is the Adobe site and they have chosen to to provide crapware along with their own product. Only install the product you were planning to install. Do not install additional products: including -- "Free! McAfee Security Scan Plus" or "Google Chrome". Installing Google Chrome on your own and installing it because it is offered on the Adobe site are two different things.
Find updates for your installed plugins at http://www.mozilla.com/plugincheck/ mozilla.com/plugincheck
-- best to use Adobe's site to really see if their plug-ins are up to date.
Please fix your caps lock or read what you type, do you think anybody could read my answer if I typed in all caps.
If the above fails to correct the problem, I would try uninstalling Adobe Flash from your system entirely first, from the control panel then "Programs and Features".

  • My windows 7 machine does not recognise .swf files. I have down loaded the flash player but I think.

My windows 7 machine does not recognise .swf files. I have down loaded the flash player but I think but it is linked as a plug in with chrome and IE.  How can I get my windows to recognise the .swf files to play them.

The downloaded file is the projector, not an installer; you need to make the file association manually:
move the downloaded exe file to a location you can remember, e.g. C:\Windows\SysWOW64\Macromed\Flash
right-click on a swf file and select Open with > Choose default program
navigate to the folder you saved the player and select flashplayer_13_sa.exe

  • Hi just wondering if you can get abode flash player for ipad as I can't play  a Facebook game on here without it ?

Hi just wondering if you can get abode flash player for ipad as I can't play  a Facebook game on here without it ?

There is no support for Flash in any iDevice by Apple.
There are however 3rd party Apps in the App Store that claim to have Flash support. You can try browsers such as  Puffin
    http://www.puffinbrowser.com/index.php
And see if the game can run on them.

  • Need the newest flash player for imac osx 10.4.11

Hi, I have an iMac OSX 10.4.11 & everything I used to use won't work because it tells me to update my flash player to version 10. But when I try, it says that it's not supported by my operating system. I can't upgrade the system, I have no budget for that. I don't know what to do. I need a flash player that will make things work for me again, but I can't upgrade, what do I do?

The last really supported Flash for PPC was 10.1.102.64, but if it's for like Facebook or such, people have been fooling FB to think they have a later version installed.

  • I'm having issues down loading adobe flash player

I've tried to down load the adobe flash player and I'm having issues, I'm doing everything right then this stupid black screen comes up and nothing happens?
I need help or please fix this issues Thank You!

The big Step 1 button that says Install doesn't install anything. It downloads the installer to your Mac. Note that Step 2 tells you what to do next:
To proceed, open your download folder and locate the Adobe Flash Player Installer file, named like "AdobeFlashPlayer[xxx]_install.dmg”.
The file you'll find there should be named:
    AdobeFlashPlayer_17_ta_install.dmg
Double click the .dmg file to open it. You'll see this:
Click the "Install Adobe Flash Player" package. When the installation is done, you can close this window and dismount the .dmg file by putting the "drive" icon that appeared on the desktop in the trash. You can then delete the .dmg file as you no longer need it.
The Step 3 Adobe shows is completely pointless.

    Hi mohamedfo,
Welcome to the Support Communities!  Are you getting an error message when you try to install Adobe Flash Player?  Here is some recent information ...
Adobe Flash Player updates available for OS X on December 12, 2014 - Apple Support
    http://support.apple.com/en-us/HT202681
Adobe Flash Player updates available for OS X on December 12, 2014
Adobe Flash Player updates address a recently identified Adobe Flash Player web plug-in vulnerability.
If you're using an out-of-date version of the Adobe Flash Player plug-in, you may see the message “Blocked plug-in,” “Flash Security Alert,” or “Flash out-of-date” when attempting to view Flash content in Safari.
Clicking the indicator displays a message that Adobe Flash Player is out-of-date:
To continue viewing Flash content, update to a later version of Adobe Flash Player:
Click the Download Flash button. Safari opens the Adobe Flash Player page on the Adobe website.
Follow the instructions on the Adobe website to download and install the latest version of the plug-in.
If you need to use an older version of Flash Player, you can use Internet plug-in management in Safari to run the plug-in in unsafe mode for websites that you trust.
Contact Adobe if you need help downloading, installing, or using Adobe Flash Player.

  • Firefox won't allow me to down load adobe flash player

Don't know where to find the window to allow firefox to download adobe flash player

    <u>'''Install/Update Adobe Flash for Firefox'''</u>
If you are seeing a yellow bar telling you to add something to the allowed list, that is an out-of-date instruction on the Adobe site. Use the following instructions instead.
#Use Firefox to download the Adobe (Shockwave) Flash file. <u>The Adobe Flash file must be SAVED to your hard drive.</u> You then exit Firefox (File > Exit), check to see that Firefox is completely closed (''Ctrl+Alt+Del, choose Task Manager, click Processes tab, if Firefox is on the list, right-click "firefox" and choose End process, close the Task Manager window''), then click the file you downloaded for Adobe Flash and allow it to install before restarting Firefox.
#Click the "Flash Player download page" link and follow further instructions here: '''[http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Managing+the+Flash+plugin#Updating_Flash Updating Flash]'''
*<u>'''NOTE: On Vista and Windows 7'''</u> you may need to run the plugin installer as Administrator by starting the installer via the right-click context menu if you do not get an UAC prompt to ask for permission to continue (i.e nothing seems to happen). See this: http://vistasupport.mvps.org/run_as_administrator.htm
*'''<u>NOTE for IE:</u>''' Firefox and most other browsers use a Plugin. IE uses an ActiveX version of Flash. To install the IE ActiveX Adobe Flash Player, same instructions as above, except use IE to download the ActiveX Flash installer.
    <u>'''''Other Issues''''': to correct security/stability issues</u>
    <u>'''Update Java'''</u>: your version 1.6.0.17; current version 1.6.0.20 (<u>important security update 04-15-2010</u>)
''(Windows users: Do the manual update; very easy.)''
    See: '''[http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Using+the+Java+plugin+with+Firefox#Updates Updating Java]'''
Do the update with Firefox closed.
