Downlad error. Please contact customer support

I just upgraded my 2011 MacBook Pro to a 2014 MacBook Pro. After migrating my apps and user files, an notification popped up that I had to upgrade Creative Cloud. I did that, and logged in. When I click on the Apps tab, I get the above error message.
So what's the problem and how do I fix it.

Nope that didn't work either.
deleted AAMUpdater folder under   ~/Library/Application Support/Adobe/ (still got error)
deleted opm.db under ~/Library/Application Support/Adobe/OOBE (still get error)
(I also tried just renaming opm.db. and still got error. )
What next?

I have checked to see that the aamdetect plugin is installed. I have restarted safari. I have read every help page I can find. I am using a new MACPRO and transferred files from my IMAC. HELP

    When I started my laptop this morning CC had a red ! on its icon and the follwing message under Apps:
    "Download error. Please contact customer support."
    I've got 2 issues with this:
    I don't recall downloading any apps yesterday
    and the handy link does not send me to customer support, in fact I couldn't find any way to send a message to "customer support" and spent too much time looking. (maybe you guys could change the wording to something else--everybody has other things to do)
    The question is how do I make this message go away? I tried quitting and restarting CC
    FYI-yesterday I removed 3 adobe internet plug-ins because I prefer Safari the way it is.  CC worked fine with those removed before the restart so I'm guessing its unrelated at this point.

    http://status.creativecloud.com/ shows everything green, but when I go to https://creative.adobe.com/products/creative-cloud I get a

    Apple IDs cannot be merged. You should use your preferred Apple ID from now on, but you can still access your purchased items such as music, movies, or software using your other Apple IDs.

    I work for a University. We've purchased a few copies of Adobe Acrobat Pro XI boxed software. It's been working great all along. Now, it won't work at all. Error as follows:
    "The serial number you entered has expired.This product cannot be licensed. Please contact Customer Support. Provide a serial number."

    You need to do what it says... contact Adobe Customer Support. We can't help for two reasons (a) we are not Adobe staff (b) even if we were, we can't examine private serial numbers in a public forum.
    When you contact them, best to have all the paperwork from the original purchase in case there are difficulties with a supplier etc.
