Download & Upload message mapping in PI 7.1

Hi experts,
I have a Web Service -> PI -> Idoc interface configured in PI 7.1. The mapping is quite complex and they've decided to add 2 fields to the scenario. To do this they've created a new Idoc with different segment names (before they were something like "SEGMENT01" and now they are "SEGMENT02"). The field names are exactly the same. When I changed the structure the system told me that it was impossible to match the field names due to the change in the segment name and all mappings were skipped. This is no good, the mapping is huge. Is there a way to download the mapping to a text file, change the segment name manually and then upload it again? Please help....

Hi,
U can use the mapping templates, and save the templates.
So when they add extra fields modify ur mapping only for those 2 fields.
Better create multiple mapping templates, for different level of hierarchy, so that u can reuse the templates in mapping again.
Also There is a option called Text Preview in message mapping, through which u can view the mapped fields, source and target.

Message Mapping - JDBC to IDoc

Hi,
I trying to map the resultset from a JDBC adapter (sender) to Inbound IDoc into SAP. I have problems with message mapping and after reading through a number of threads, I followed the following steps:
1. Download the IDoc definition as XSD.
2. Change occurrence of node IDOC to 1..unbounded.
3. Upload changed XSD as external definition and
4. use the external definition in the mapping.
After importing the external XSD definition the IDOC node turned red. How do I map this node, now that it is unbounded?
Example from Message mapping:

Hendrik,
whichever data record is occuring multiple on your sender JDBC message should be mapped to IDoc segment. It really depends on your JDBC message structure.
If EtaNode is occuring multiple times, and if based on EtaNode an IDoc has to be created, map that to IDOC and if per every CARID one idoc needs to be created, then use CreateIf and exists node functions to IDoc.

It looks like they're pushing out the googlemap -> Bing maps update to the palm pre handsets now. The process they've come up with is kind of flawed. It's probably best to just go to the app catalog & download the new map app directly. If you wait for them to push it to you, what happens is that once you start googlemap, instead of going to the map app, it shows a hyperlink text stating "click here to download the latest map app." Clicking that link will keep you in the googlemap app, but will display a webpage designed for a full-size browser experience. You will have *no* way to zoom in to see any of the text. It's all miniscule gibberish.
Here's what you need to do. Everything you need is on the left hand side. The first field is a drop down letting you pick your country. Then, there's a field where you enter in the phone number associated with your palm. Then there's a check box that you need to check indicating that you've read whatever gibberish was written on the left side. then you click the big grey button on the lower left.
It sends an sms message to you allowing you to link to the appropriate app download. like I said...it probably would've saved you effort to just go directly to the app catalog.

We are facing a very strange problem , during runtime we are facing the below mapping problem ,

please chech whether the data in the input file is according to the format or not.
for this you go to sxmb_moni,take the input payload from the moni and test with that payload and you will come to lnow where is the error.

Error in message mapping - Cannot produce target element

As one step in my integration process, I am builing a very simple file to BPM integration (inbound MI async, outbound MI abstract).
The source type and the target type are completely equal - I am only doing some modifications to some of the content.
The type for both messages - source & target message - is an imported external definition (DTD), and hence no DT or MT are created.
As a first step I am trying to fill the target message with the content from the source message (without any modifications to the content). However, when testing this in the message mapping area, I get an error message already when filling the first element, the 'root node'.
The error message is as follows:
Start of test
Compilation of <MM name> successful
Cannot produce target element <elementname>. Check xml instance is valid for source xsd and target-field mapping fulfills requirements of target xsd Cannot produce target element <elementname>. . Check xml instance is valid for source xsd and target-field mapping fulfills requirements of target xsd

when creating the source message manually in the MM it worked - so nothing wrong with the mapping.
I saved this file and compared with the "original file" - containing the content which I wanted to upload, and on which the xsd (external definition) was based - and there where some inconsistancies.
I changed some values in the source XML which made it work, also when uploading the file from a drive.
So, I will go back to the source system and try to get a better XML.

Message mapping hangs when selecting communication channel

Hi Experts,
I have a strange problem. In message mapping, there is an RFC Lookup. For this RFC lookup, there is one parameter of type communication channel. I want to test this message mapping. So, I go to the Test tab and browse for all available communication channels. When I select a channel and click on Select, ESR hangs. I am not getting why this is happening. Please help me get rid of this problem.

Message Mapping with cXML

I have a message mapping scenario. I am trying to test something and for this I have the following Getpending Response as source and Target in message mapping.
When I try to test this in the Repository I am getting some error(listed below)
Note : I imported the below cXML into my respository in the external definition as an XSD(I used Altova XML spy to convert the XML into an XSD)
In the occurence I have given both source and target as 1.

ABAP Mapping and Message Mapping

Hello
I want to do the followig mapping
File - > IDOC
field1 ->field_idoc1
field2 ->field_idoc2
field3 ->field_idoc3
field4 -> (based on an dictionary table in the R/3)
For the first 3 fields I will use message-mapping.
For field4 I heard about ABAP Mapping. Select with the value of field4 in an ABAP Table and response the new value to the mapping back.
Would both mappings in one Interface-Mapping work?

RFC to SOAP Interface - Problem in Request Message Mapping

We are working on RFC to SOAP Scenario i.e. pulling out data from an WebService from SAP via PI.
In Request Message Mapping, when the wsdl file is uploaded as Target Message, the wsdl request shows the nested elements like below.

But the desired Request should go like below.

Hence it gives an error saying that the tag Request_New does not exist.

Our target webservice cotains multiple methods.
The every method contains its corresponding request, response and SQL ecxeption as messages.
In case of request structures, every method (except crmPaymentReceived) contains more than 1 root element.
So while calling those methods having more than 1 root element, the additional header tag will always appear(not avoidable) in the request coming from SAP PI.
For Example,

Request Message Mapping - error

to the first problem:
Do you get the same error, if you test the mapping in the Integration Builder:Design? I mean, you can download the XML instance which is entered into the Message
Mapping zMsgMap in the Integration Engine Monitor (R/3 Transaction SXMB_MONI) and use this XML in the test environment of the Message Mapping in the Integration Builder:Design.
to the second problem:
It looks like that the Message Mapping xMsg_mapping could not be found by the Integration Engine. You can try to reactivate the Message Mapping in the Integration Builder. This is done for example by changing the description of the corresponding Message Mapping object and saving and activating the object.

Cannot display dependencies in message mapping

Hi,
I used to see the dependencies between source message types and target message types but now I cannot see the dependencies. When I go to message mapping, the dependencies (drop down) is greyed out or disabled. Does anyone know how this could happen or how to enable it?

Why don't you try deleting you java webstart cache and downloading the jar files again.
1. Go to Start --> programs --> Java WebStart
2. File --> Preferences --> Advanced and here you will find an option to clear cache.
Is the button disabled even when you are trying to create new mappings.

Problems using very large XSD in Message Mapping - POSLog

Hi,
I am trying to build a message mapping based on an external definition (.xsd) downloaded from the ARTS webpage (Association for Retail Technology Standards). In PI (7.0) I am able to succesfully create an External Definition based on the downloaded XSD. The resulting external definition syntax checks ok and contains the message type POSLog.
Next I try to create a message mapping using the external definition as the source message type. This is where it all starts to wrong. When I select the external definition as the source message type PI seems unable to complete the task, I get an hour glass. No matter how long I leave it in this state, it never comes back.
I'm thinking because the xsd is so large PI is having problems trying to render the mapping. I am working over a VPN but cannot see any network traffic. Windows task manager shows that process javaws is taking up the majority of the processing. My laptop slows to a crawl until I kill the repository. Though my laptop only has 504Mb of RAM we have another with 1Gb which has the same problem.
Any ideas? The exact same xsd can be downloaded from...

That did the trick and I like the idea of changing a local copy of the jnlp file. Finally had to run the task on a laptop with 2Gb of RAM with heap-size = 1536m and sap.theme = Tradeshow (not sure if this helps).
It is still very slow moving around the graphical mapping so I have placed an order for more RAM (upto 4Gb). I think Win32 can use upto 3.5 Gb so i'm hoping for a further improvement.
It is a ludicrously large xsd.

Need some advice... I get a runtime messge mapping error ( system error) failing the substring logic although when i download the same payload and run in test tab it works fine. Has anyone encountered similar issue ?

objects are active.Your second point is good ,but this error only happens when a load test is done , partciular messages throw runtime exception and fail in mapping on substring logic but when the same payload is downloaded and run via message mapping tabl it runs through. i will try disabling the substring logic nodes.
Secondly when i get a runtime exception ,i try to restart the same message and it goes thorugh successfully. So restarting in moni helps.... but does not explain why....

Objects tool bar in message mapping is in disabled mode

Hi all,
In my message mapping the objects tool bar is in disiabled mode. It is not working any more, so it difficult to map objects in message mapping pane. Is there any particular option need to enable at any where? please kinldy help on this any body?
