Downloaded 5.01 and latest itunes. Had errors on iphone needed to restore now when i plug into itunes it freezes I need to use task master to close.if i plug my wifes phone in no problems with itunes took it to apple store tech no help.

Have iphone 3g with 5.0 I downloaded 5.01 for phone and itunes latest download. Had errors on download and needed to restore. Everything came back except apps.
Pluged into itunes and it gave me the restore screen. restored again. Now when i plug into itunes it shows my phone but freezes up. I need to use task master to close itunes. Went to apple store tech. No help said to use Icloud but no WiFi is available. My wife's phone works fine with itunes.

Basic troubleshooting steps clearly outlined in the User Guide are restart, reset, restore from backup, restore as new device.
If you have gone through ALL the above steps and are still having problems, then you'll need to bring your phone into Apple for evaluation.

Did you try to open teh fle by double-clicking its icon? If the file was made with an older version of Office, you may get that message. Try opeing PP and, from its "File" menu, see if you can open the ppt. I've foundthat often gets around that message and then yo ucan save the file from the newer version.

So I have found a common denominator to this phenomenon. After having the same problem, I started to recopy my playlist of 500+ songs in groups of 10-20, 30+, 75+, and then over a 100+. Any music I have purchased from iTunes won't copy, but everything else did. Unsure if I made a playlist called "Purchased" at some point or this is an iTunes default, I also noticed it had some of the songs contained in my other playlist and was showing on my iPhone. Regardless of what I did such as dragging music from that playlist to the other and clearing songs from that playlist, I removed it altogether from the iPhone itself vs. doing through iTunes. After that, music copied fine to my playlist.
So, my theory is that iTunes is getting tripped up on purchased tracks already showing on the phone and all songs are showing grayed out/dotted circle because iTunes can't resolve the conflict with purchased tracks.

You might be able to re-enable it via this page : http://appleid.apple.com, then 'reset your password'
You might then need to log out of your account on your phone by tapping on your id in Settings > iTunes & App Store and then log back in so as to 'refresh' the account on it.
If that doesn't fix it then you might need to contact iTunes Support : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page

Download problems with album just bought at Apple Store

I just bought an album called "Pulp" from a group called "The Seasons" an extraordinary group of 4 young boys from Quebec City - my hometown! - and there were 4 songs that were not downloaded, due to problems, it says. What can you do about it?
These songs are : 1- Apples*, 2- Amy Downtown, 3-Copernicius and 4- Velvet wedding. How can you fix this?The amount of 9,99$ was taken off my credit - it was at 45,74$ and now is at 35,75$.

Your best bet is to try downloading your content again. Before you do that, you will want to use the information found in this Knowledge Base article to delete it from your library:

Before you delete, find out if you'll be able to download the song you deleted again (it depends on where you live). To delete a song:
Launch iTunes.
From the Library pop-up menu, choose Music.
Click Songs in the navigation bar.
Click the song you want to delete.
Press the Delete key on your keyboard.
In iTunes 11, the album cover art will remain visible, but a cloud icon will appear on it to allow you to download the item again (in countries that support this).
Note: If you didn't purchase a song from the iTunes Store, you won't be able to download it again for free from iTunes in the Cloud. You might want to back it up somewhere on your computer.
Once you've done the above, then download the affected songs again:

Apple can't find it for you. You have to go to icloud.com on a computer and sign into the iCloud account that was used on the phone, then see if you can track it as described here: http://help.apple.com/icloud/#mmfc0f2442. If you don't know the password for your iCloud account you won't be able to sign in to track it.
If it was stolen, contact the police and your carrier, and change your passwords.

When I downloaded I tunes and bought Match all 3 of my computers synced. Now I download a song from Amazon into Media player or burn a cd and they are not syncing with the other computers. I update match and have my boxes checked in preferences.

Yes i've tried all of that. I've turned it all the way on and off and erased all of my music and put it back on and nothing works. And with the breaking up CDs and putting into compilation categories i have already fixed all of that stuff. It's fine it just doesn't show up in the list of artists. I can find the album in the songs category and the albums category it's just it doesn't show tha name of the artist. All of the other albums that i downloaded before i updated my itunes to th most recent update are fine. It's just the two that i downloaded afterwards. Thanks for trying though.

Problem with itunes... Please help!

I have 100 songs in my itunes that successfully transferred to my ipod. Now when I go into itunes and double click on a song I want to hear in the library, it plays the song for about 3 seconds, then it skipps and scratches as if the cd is skipping.... but as its not a cd and is in itunes what could the problem be?? As a result of this happening, it states "problem encountered with itunes" and it sends an error report, when that's finished, itunes shuts down!!! This has only happened this evening.....
Any ideas what problem is??? No cd in drive, songs on ipod perfect.

There are a couple of methods for using more than one iPod on a single computer which you could adapt as you are sharing a computer. Have a look at the article linked below. Method one is to have two Mac or Windows user accounts which by definition would give you two completely separate libraries. You could then syncronise your iPod to your own library Method two is to set your preferences so your iPod is updated with only certain playlists within one library. Have a look anyway and see what you think and go for whichever you feel suits your needs best: How To Use Multiple iPods with One Computer

The iPod offers three ways to transfer music from your computer. You can select one of the following update modes from the iPod Preferences menu in iTunes (Edit=>Preferences=>'iPod' tab):
1) Automatically update all songs and playlists. This is the default mode, in which your entire music library, including playlists, is automatically synced to your iPod. If the music library on your computer exceeds the iPod storage capacity, you are prompted to select a different update method.
2) Automatically update selected playlists only. With this option, iTunes automatically copies the playlists you have selected to the iPod when you connect it to the computer.
3) Manually manage songs and playlists. You can also choose to transfer music to the iPod manually. This allows you to drag and drop individual songs and playlists from iTunes to the iPod.

Problem with iTunes purchased track. I purchased an album from the store and downloaded. I contacted support as one track was defective and had this one track setup to re-download, which was successful.

I purchased an album with 11 tracks from the Store. When the download was complete, I edited the name to make it easier for me to find. I then synced my iPod and iPad with the new album. However I found that one of the tracks was defective and after writing to the support community, a second download was setup and this fixed the bad track. I was surprised that when the track downloaded, it went to the track with the new name. However it works perfectly on my computer. For some reason, the iPod and iPad have synced a few times but the track for this album on these is the original track with the defect and this has not fixed, though there have been multiple times that it has synced. The laptop with its corrected track works fine.
The message from support told me to be sure that the software on my laptop was the current version and I did correct this before getting that corrected download. However I notice that my iPod says that it has the latest version and won't check for an update until 2/24.
Can you help me figure this out. I thought if I could delete this track off the iPod and iPad that it would sync the correct version, but I can't see how to delete these.

Assuming you are in a region where you are allowed to redownload your past music purchases, delete the problem tracks from your iTunes library, close and then reopen iTunes, go to the iTunes Store home page, click the Purchased link from the Quick Links section in the right-hand column, then select Music and Not on this computer. You should find download links for your tracks there.
While downloading select Downloads in the left-hand column and make sure Allow Simultaneous Downloads is unticked.
If the problem persists, or that facility is not yet available in your region, contact the iTunes Store support staff through the "Report a problem" links in your account history, or via Contact Support.
