Downloading extension SDK fails

Howdy,
I'm trying to install the extension SDK from within JDeveloper 11.1.1.1.0, but I'm failing miserably. It seems that the download manager cannot connect with the download server. The update manager displays the SDK as a download option, but when I select the item and press "Next", connecting fails and the Summary page displays nearly immediately.
There is no apparent sign of failure, but the download did not finish successfully and when checking $HOME/.jdeveloper/tmp/update, the file "esdk_bundle.zip" has only 708 bytes! Enabling debug output reveals that the update manager seems to require a proxy server.

I could not find any information about an alternative proxy. Can anyone provide some information about how the proxy and/or update manager can be configured to allow downloads from the internal Oracle server? Or is there an alternative means to download the extension SDK?
Thanks for your help.
Best regards,

Hello Shay,
thanks much for your quick reply.
you can download the file directly from the link here:
http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/jdev/101/update/center.xml#oracle.jdeveloper.esdk
Got it! Thanks.
Internal JDeveloper forums for Oracle Employees are here:
http://myforums.oracle.com/jive3/?categoryID=445
I don't seem to be able to access that forum. Not sure whether there is such a possibility for developers outside of Oracle, as John's post seems to be implying. Or maybe it hasn't been obvious that I'm not an Oracle employee.
Anyway, my immediate need is satisfied. Thanks much for all the help.
If anybody is interested to receive further information regarding the proxy server issue, please don't hesitate to contact me.
Cheers,
Marco

  • Extension install failing Adobe Exchange extension

Mutiple users, our test systems from Mac and Windows are failing when installing extensions from the Adobe Exchange extension.
Install Extension from Adobe Exchange Panel in Adobe CC application, Ps, Ai, Id,…
              click to download extension
              installing
ask to open Extension Manger CC, choose yes
    Extension Manager CC
Asked to quit Adobe CC application
Sometimes: in Adobe CC application Panel shows "Installation failed. Please close Extension Manager and try again."
Quit Adobe CC application, click Retry
Extension Manager error - "File cannot be found... Extension will not be installed."
Result: Installed extension not shown installed in Extension Manager or Adobe Exchange Panel, but extension is installed.
Attempting to reinstall has same failure. Extension is installed, but has no method to remove.
Note installing steps in Panel and in Extension Manager can last 5+ minutes.

I am sorry about that. These extensions should have been specified force-quit="true" in mxi file by their producers. This attribute means that the application must be closed in order to install these extensions. Because the Exchange Panel runs in applications, so these extensions can't be installed by Exchange Panel. User have to quit applications and launch Extension Manager to install them. This is bad user experience so we  hope the extension developers use this attribute only if it is indeed necessary.
To get the real root cause, please create a file named ExManCoreLibLog.YES in the "C:\Users\<UserName>\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Extension Manager CC\Log" (Windows) or "/Users/<UsreName>/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Extension Manager CC/Log" folder (Mac), then launch Extension Manager CC and reproduce your problem, then send the ExManCoreLibrary.log in this folder to [email protected] Thanks!

Extension Manager fails to update. Error code 49?

  • How to get the Extension SDK

I am new to JDeveloper and would like to explore how extensions can be added to JDeveloper. I have had some sample odes, but i cannot add the JDeveloper Extension SDK as a library because such a library is not listed in the list of available libraries. I tried downloading a few samples, even then the code would nt compile. When i checked the project properties for the added libraries, the entry for extesion SDK was there but with an error tag. It was seen that it was just a dummy entry and there was no corresponding library for it with my installation. I am having the JDeveloper 10g Studio Version 10.1.3.0.4.3673

You download the Extension SDK as .... extension. Go to Help->Check for Updates.
The Extension SDK is listed there. If you are behind a proxy, then don't forget to configure that in Tools->Preferences.

    David,
This might be caused by the fact the fact that you have the platform version of eclipse. BPEL PM requires the SDK version (full download ~87MB).

  • How can I get JDeveloper Extension sdk for 9.0.4 version

    HI~
I want to download JDeveloper Extension sdk for 9.0.4 version.
Of course, I found some link for downloading, but all of them I found were not connected or connected with 11g version.
I also try to install the sdk in JDeveloper menu called "Check for updates" in help menu. But it was not operated in my pc(Windows 7 64bit).
I really need to older version Extension sdk.
How can I get the sdk?

The only way I see is through support. Versions this old are not accessible via the web.

  • SOLVED Downloading extensions

    Hey dev team,
I'm running JDeveloper 10.3.1.2 (ok, behind one version) and I'm trying to download the Extensions SDK. I'm using the Check for Updates... as specified but the server connection doesn't appear to be working. Is there another download location?
Sorry to bother you with a stupid server-related thread but I'm an oracle intern here on-campus and kind of want to get the software to do my work.

Check your Web proxy settings under tools->preferences in JDeveloper.
If this doesn't help, you can download extensions directly from here:
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/jdev/101/update/center.xml
    and here:

  • Firefox 24.0 does not update any YouTube page for the download extensions. Video aivalable for download is the 1th opened in the tab and not the video playing.

On YouTube, when more than one video have been played, staying on the same page, videos aivalable for download, by any Firefox Download Extension as Downloader Helper, Flash Video Downloader or 1 Click Video Download, are the format options for the first video opened in the tab, and not format options for the video actually playing.
I have tried resetting Firefox ( Firefox menu : ? \ Troubleshooting Information \ Reset Firefox), and reinstall Videos Downloaders (without Adblock Plus that I normally use), it did not solve the problem.
    Temporary Solution :
Refreshing the http://www.youtube.com/... page ( by hitting the round arrow at the right of the adress bar ) allows me to update the download features but it is annoying as it restarts the playback every time I decide to download a video ( so is it having to remember to refresh the page ).
I am surprised it seems no one have experience and solved this problem yet.

  • The Group Policy client-side extension Scripts failed ...

This is an error I've been seeing forever and it was always the impression that upgrading would resolve it, but it never has even in 10.3. 100% of our users get these errors in the Event Viewer:
    Event Type: Error
    Event Source: Userenv
    Event Category: None
    Event ID: 1085

    User: NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM
    Computer: XXXXXX
    Description:
The Group Policy client-side extension Scripts failed to execute. Please look for any errors reported earlier by that extension.
For more information, see Help and Support Center at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp.
We also seem to have flakey policy issues where once in awhile a user will not be able to logon to Windows with Workstation Only while getting the " not allowed to logon interactively" message, other times the users report not being able to access the Windows Date and Time Properties and further sometimes they are unable to make system changes.
We have troubleshooted this and the only resolutions we've found are to run zac cc, zac ref, zac pl and sometimes it seems like deleting c:\windows\system32\grouppolicy will help.
In regards to the Event Viewer entry I posted, on any given machine I can issue the command gpupdate and it will put another entry into the Event Viewer (sometimes multiple ones). I've learned through research that if I "clean up" c:\windows\system32\grouppolicy\gpt.ini the errors go away, but once the policy is refreshed they come right back.

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Here are the groups I'm using. NOTE: These have been in affect throughout the issues experienced. Users will work perfectly fine then suddenly the problem will start happening without any policy change on our side.
    -Member of-
    Network Configuration Operators+
    Remote Desktop Users+
    Users+
-Assigned Rights under a group I called "Other Rights"-
    Access this computer from network
    Change the system time
    Log on locally
    Shut down the system
The only condition I have is that these issues happen when logging in Workstation Only and I'm not able to recreate the problem on demand with tests.

  • How to download Flex SDK 4.5 ?

    Hi,
I am having trouble to download The Open Source Flex SDK 4.5 zip file from http://opensource.adobe.com/wiki/display/flexsdk/Download+Flex+4.5
The file is only 13.2MB instead of 63MB, and when I try to open it, the archive appears to be damaged.
Is there any other alternative url for downloading this SDK?

    Thanks Darrell,
The link you provided takes me back to the same download page:
    http://opensource.adobe.com/wiki/display/flexsdk/Download+Flex+4.5
The  Open Source Flex SDK Zip file downloads fine here too.
However, I am not able to open or unzip it as the archive seems to be incomplete or damaged.
Can you open that zip file?
