Downloading infoobject properties

Hi,
Is there any way I can download the properties of all my active characteristics from the system. Things like attribute only flag, master data table (/bic/p...), text table, time dependant or not....
I need to design process chains so I need to know ALL the infoobjects which needs master data and text loaded.
Metadata was no good and so was RSDIOBJ table.

TXTTABFL -> = x -> has text
ATTRIBFL -> = x -> has attribute
fields for time dependent etc may also there,
other table RODCHABAS with fields TXTSHFL,TXTMDFL,TXTLGFL,ATTRIBFL
another option to check master data attribute and text needed to be loaded is right click data target (cube/ods) and 'infosource overview'.

Its there in the XML if you export it from the Migration client, but you won't like its format much .
From DRM i don't think there is another way to do this.

Changing InfoObject to allow lowercase letters

Hi All,
We have Invoice Number InfoObject which was already developed and used in some of the DSO in production. This infoobject was not checked with the lower case letters option in the object properties while creating the object. From two days we are getting an SID creation error while activating DSO's due to the master data being in lower case letters. There is already transaction data which is available in the DSO's. The infoobject is allowing the lower case to be checked in development. Now if we change the object to incorporate the object to allow lower case letters, what could be the effect while sending it to production. Will there be any problem for the DSO's being inactive in production if we send the object to production with the change in infoobject properties. Is it the best option to change the object to allow lower case letters or is it best option to write a transformation routine to make lower case to upper case in between the DSO layer to allow lower case.

Hi,
You can transport it and after that it will accept both the small letters as well as capital letters.
But will have effect on the input variables create on this infoobject.
You will have to take care of correct syntax like combination of small and caps characters in the values or it will not accept the user input.
If you do not check this option then...in the query during input in selection on a variable based on this infoobject you can give input in any case... small or capital...and system will not check the case of the object by default everything will be capital...but once settings are changed then it will mandatory to give user input in correct case or the system will keep an values not found error.
Generally its better to write a routine if its going to be used as an input variable.
But if its a simple text which will not be used for input variable then you can use it this checkbox.

While downloading the properties need to be binded properly then it works fine.

Document attribute ticked on InfoObject which is nav attribute

Hi SDN Community,
We have recently enhanced a query, by removing a natural characteristic Cost Centre Category ZCOBCAT that exists in an infocube, and replaced this with a characteristic which is a navigational attribute - CC Func Code ZCCFUNCCD.
eg. characteristic value with was CC11 is now 11 with this change
On both these characteristics, in the infoObject properties, the "Document attribute" checkbox is ticked.
However, we find that when storing commentary functionality, the comments are applicable against the whole infoObject ZCCFUNCCD. Eg. If the variable input parameters are 11, the comments, are retrieved against 11, and every other value against the ZCCFUNCCD characteristic.
Is it such that navigable attributes enabled against multiproviders will not allow the "Document attribute" against the infoobject to work?
Or is it such i have to enable some other parameter against the Multiprovider or infocube that i have overlooked.

Thank you both for your answers.
As you have indicated, i have verified this:
1) the "Attribute Only" in the Miscallaneous area in the General tab of the infoObject is unticked
2) the "Characteristic is a document attribu" in the Miscallaneous area in the General tab of the infoObject is TICKED as this is what allows storing of documents against the infoObject, and is ticked in the original InfoObject. Are we saying here this should be unticked?
3) ZCCFUNCCD is flagged as a Navigational Attribute in all InfoProviders
4) I have also verified that the Multiprovider has all the assignment correctly ticked for the ZCCFUNCCD is ticked for all the InfoProviders.
What i do find different, is that if i look at 0COSTCENTER, then the attribute ZCCFUNCCD, has a check in the column "Texts of Char." But this should not be causing any issue as this is only using the same description for the Navigational Attribute Display in the queries.
Any other suggestions would be most helpful thanks.

We are developing program that will download document properties from one Portal Server and upload document properties to another server.
Can someone provide a code snipplet on how to deal with multi-valued property for this download/upload requirement.
1. How do we download property values for Multi-valued properties for document.

We were able to do this. This bug is fixed by SAP in 7.0 ICE.

Zone information on download files - no longer in alternate data stream on Windows 7 or IE 8 ?

Hi,
In Windows XP and Vista, when IE (or messenger) download a file an alternate data steam named "Zone.Identifer" is created to store information about the zone the file orginated from. This was how Windows knew which files should have that "This file
came from another computer and might be blocked" with an "Unblock" button in the properites for such files. Of course, this only works if downloading to an NTFS volume.
Vista also added the /R option for DIR, which allows us to see the alternate data streams. I can easily confirm this behavior on my home PC, which is Vista.
But on my Windows 7 desktop at the office, there do not seem to be any alternate data streams on downloaded files. DIR /R shows no Zone.Identifier ADS for downloaded files, and "This file came from another computer and might be blocked" is not displayed
in the downloaded file properties.
Nonetheless, downloaded files are preserving zone information. If I download an HTML file from our Intranet, and then open the downloaded file in IE, it shows as being in the Intranet zone. If I then copy that file to a FAT partition and back
to my desktop, it then shows as being in the local Computer zone. So there is metadata that was removed by copying to/from FAT.
Any ideas what is happening here? How is the zone information being stored, if it is not in an ADS any more?

HMM I have the same problem. My researches suggest that the Zone.Identifier ADS is still being used for the internet zone, but not the Intranet zone. I too can get an intranet location out of IE, but not by querying Zone.Identifier eg using Powershell. This
issue is present in XP as well as Win 7. It appears to extend to trusted zone ids.
One hypothesis is that this is being stored in hidden form to prevent zone ids that decrease security being applied by malware.
I had thought that maybe the intranet zone id was only present during download - but your experiment suggests otherwise.

Infoobject F4 help in the Query takes lot of time and hangs

Hi All,
I have 0Material in the query and the F4 help for selection takes lot of time and hangs after some time.
The 0Material has 2 million records the Infoobject properties for Bex are as below:
Selection:No selection restriction
Query Def. Filter Value Selection: Values in Master Data Table
Query Execution Filter Val.Selectn:Only Posted Values for Navigation
We tried to alter some of the Properties but we have the same issue.
Suggest other options that can be be looked into to get the F4 help in the Query .

Can you help me understand these which came from the many links the Experts referred me .
1. For better performance: Use line item dimension where applicable, but use the "high cardinality" option with extreme care. Any clarification on high cardinality? And why with extreme care?
2. For better performance: 1. Make the Index perfect and create secondary index based on requirement.. I dont seem to follow this index issue being raised here.

There is much to be said about performance in general, but I will try to answer your specific question regarding fact and dimension tables.
First of all try to compress as many requests as possible in the fact table and do that regularily.
Partition your compressed fact table physically based on for example 0CALMONTH. In the infocube maintenance, in the Extras menu, choose partitioning.
Partition your cube logically into several smaller cubes based on for example 0CALYEAR. Combine the cubes with a multiprovider.
Use constants on infocube level (Extras->Structure Specific Infoobject properties) and/or restrictions on specific cubes in your multiprovider queries if needed.
Create aggregates of subsets of your characteristics based on your query design. Use the debug option in RSRT to investigate which objects you need to include.
To investigate the size of the dimension tables, first use the test in transaction RSRV (Database Information about InfoProvider Tables). It will tell you the relative sizes of your dimensions in comparison to your fact table. Then go to transaction DB02 and conduct a detailed analysis on the large dimension tables. You can choose "table columns" in the detailed analysis screen to see the number of distinct values in each column (characteristic). You also need to understand the "business logic" behind these objects. The ones that have low cardinality, that is relate to each other shoule be located together. With this information at hand you can understand which objects contribute the most to the size of the dimension and separate the dimension.
Use line item dimension where applicable, but use the "high cardinality" option with extreme care.
Generate database statistics regularily using process chains or (if you use Oracle) schedule BRCONNECT runs using transaction DB13.

1> Make the Index perfect and create secondary index based on requirement.
2> Make statistics perfect.
3> Based on data size in dimenssion table use lineitem dimenssion.

1] High Cardinality..
High Cardinality means that this dimension contains a large number of characteristic values. This information is used in accordance with the individual database platform in order to optimize performance. For example, an index type other than the standard may be used. Generally a dimension is perceived to have high cardinality when the dimension is at least 20% the size of the fact tables in terms of the number of entries each contain. Avoid marking a dimension as having high cardinality if you are in any doubt.
Cardinality creates indexes on the Dimension table entries and there by you would see an improvement in performance.
With Oracle DB, setting the Cardinality option causes a b-tree index to be built instead of a bitmap index even if it is not a line item dim.
Setting it as a Line Item dim also causes a b-tree index to be built instead of a bitmap index, but also embeds SID directly in the fact table, eliminating the dimension table.
As it changes from bit map to B-tree, u have to be careful as the SAP recommends the Bit map.
2]As indices increased the performance tremendously, u have to consider when ever the performance is main factor. it is very easy for query to access the data in the data target if it already indexed.

How to find all the instances for specific recurring report

How can I use UQery Builder to find out all the instance related to specific Recurring job. I have tried using following query to get the result with poor performance.

Since I find that SI_ID stores the current instance id and SI_NEW_JOB_ID stores the recurrign job's ID.
Please Help.

I can not find 'SI_KEYWORD' is a indexed properties in following SAP Notes.
1364250 - Which BusinessObjects Enterprise InfoObject properties are indexed
1499196 - Which of the InfoObject properties are indexed

SAP BO WebI Report on top of BI Bex Query with Authorization Variable

Hi,
We are trying to restrict row level data using BI 7.0 analysis authorization concept. We have an authorization variable in the Bex query and is working perfect in Bex Analyzer as well as in RSRT.
Now we are trying to achieve the same thing in BO webI. We created an Universe using Authentication Mode SSO. We are on BOXI 3.1 and implemented SSO. When we try to run the query in WebI we get the error
"A database error occured. The database error text is: Error in MDDataSetBW.GetCellData..(WS 10901)"
Just for testing purpose, when we use query filter in WebI and use Values from List, it is showing only the authorized value it supposed to show and runs well with that value selected. But we have to achieve this without the query filter in WebI.
So are we missing some thing here or any patch issue? Please share if you have done this type of reports in BO.

Yes I did run MDXTEST and it gives error as 'you do not have sufficient authorization'. The reason it is giving, I guess and we are debugging that to confirm, is first it looks for 0BI_ALL and throws error which is not the case in Bex. See the following trace in RSRT trace.

Hierarchy Node Authorization Issue

Hello Experts,
I am trying to restrict a user from seeing the complete hierarchy. The user should only be able to see the text node "text1" and below.
I did the following:
1) Using Tcode RSECADMIN I created an Authorization Object ZTEST2 for 0COMP_CODE hierarchy at node level "text1".
2) I have assigned user "User1" to the Authorization object ZTEST2.
Now, when I click on the "Analysis" tab and click on "Execute As" as user "User1" and then I check the "RSRT" to execute a query that has Company Code hierarchy as a variable. When I click on the prompt for variable input for hierarchy i see the hierarchy name and then when i execute the query i get to see the complete hierarchy.
I would really appreciate if somebody could point me where I am wrong.
I see the following in the error log:

Hi,
0BI_ALL will include all the analysis authorization created on the infoobject level. So if a user have 0BI_ALL, by default he is authorized for all the analysis auth that you create, even if you donot asisgn these explicitly to the user. For your scenario, you need to remove 0BI_ALL auth.

AGGREGATION PROBELM..in BEX

I have PO items under Pur doc. No in cube.
In Cube:

In Report I want to see : (over all picture i.e Client needs without Po items & Doc_numbers)

But it shows NOW :
100              50000                                             120k ( It is summed up , WRONG VALUE)

In RSA1 --> Zcum.pln.val Key Figure info objects AGGREGATE Tab properties are:
Aggregation : SUM
Exception Aggregation: Summation.
Cummulative value option is also selected.
1. What changes shall I do, to get my required result in RSA1- infoobject properties.? Pls. advise step wise.
2. If I change properties to this Zcum.pln.val object , Will it effects to existing Cube data?
3. without changing properties to this Zcum.pln.val object, what options shall I use in BEx level, to get required result.
Please help me and tell step wise.

try this -
right click Zcum.pln.val in BEx & choose contant selection.
or
choose claculate result as First value.
