Downloading music to a new computer.....
Is there a way to download music from my iPod to a new computer I just bought? I have installed the iTunes software and tried copying from the iPod to my library, but no luck.
Any ideas are greatly appreciated...
yep! you cant do it with itunes, but you can with other software! i think one i downloaded for a friend is called "ipodrip" or something. this article teaches you how. there are many other programs floating around the web if you dont like the ones described in here though. http://www.engadget.com/2004/11/02/how-to-get-music-off-your-ipod/

Downloading music from a "new" computer
I have an iPod Nano (2nd generation). We have a new computer using Windows 7. I've heard that using a different computer to download music to your iPod can "fry" the iPod. How can I continue to download music to my iPod using my new computer?
Connecting to a new computer will erase your iPod, die to the different iTunes library.
To be able to sync to the new one, transfer your purchases by right clicking on your device in the device list, choosing "transfer purchases". Other music you did not buy in iTunes can only be copied, if you use 3rd party software.
iTunes will erase the iPod during the first sync, but you can sync your transferred media again after that, and you iPod will be linked to the new library from that point on. -
Download music to a new computer
I purchased a new computer. I would like to transfer all of my music into it. How can I load all of my purchases from Apple?
Copy everything from your old computer, or your backup copy of your old computer, to your new one.
Type "move itunes library" into the google search bar -
My new update on my ipone 4, will not download music from my Mac computer. It says I must update my itunes, when I try to up date on the Mac, it says it has already downloaded the lastest version. How do I get music on my phone
Check the required specs for the latest version of iTunes and iOS. What kind of Mac computer do you have and what OS does it have on it. Also, what kind of processor do you have, Intel?

Hi all,
I've just downloaded itunes onto a new computer, and I'm currently downloading previously owned music from the cloud. However, it keeps sticking on various songs - it will get part of the way through and just stop, this seems to happen to about 1 in 10 songs. How do I get round this?
Also, once I've finished dowloading from the cloud, how do I get my library to display only the songs I've downloaded, and not all the other ones that I don't want anymore?
Cheers, AlexOn the new laptop, launch iTunes. From the menu bar click Store / Authorize This Computer.

I had iTunes on my old computer and I am trying to get all of the same music on my new computer. I have download iTunes and signed in, but it is not showing up in my library. How do I get all of my old music back?
It does not magically appear in a new place. It will only be where you put it.
Copy everything from your old computer, or your backup copy of your old computer, to your new one. -

I downloaded itunes on a new computer and signed in, how can i get the existing music, etc from my ipod to my library without losing it? HELP!
Copy everything from your old computer, or your backup copy of your old computer, to your new one.
The ipod is not a backup/storage device. -
I downloaded itunes on a new computer a while ago but was too afraid to syn. I did sync just now and lost 3.5 days of music, have checked my itunes music file and they arent there either. Im sure the music is all still on my old computer but it is broken and i cant access it. Are they all really gone forever?
Not without your old computer, no you can't. You could use Home Sharing to get content to your new one, but again, you would need access to the old one. My question is... before syncing to the new one... a message pops up warning you that syncing will erase the content from the iPod and replace it with the content in the new library. Did you ignore this warning?

My computer crashed and I downloaded Itunes on a new computer and I'm trying to get new music and it says my Ipod is synced with another itunes library {my dead computer} and I can either erase and sync or transfer itunes purchases. Is there any way possible I dont have to erase my music? So frustrating.
Yes. I have no personal experience with this, but it is possible to recover your music from an iPod. See this link: http://guides.macrumors.com/Recovering_Songs_from_an_iPod
