Drawing current Cursor Image.
I want to draw the current cursor image on the BufferedImage. Basically I am taking snapshot of desktop using java.awt.Robot. But the image of desktop does not contain mouse cursor image . How can I know which type of cursor image I should draw(Hand cursor, Move Cursor for example ...). Is there api which will allow me to create mouse cursor image based on current cursor style, when snapshot of desktop image was taken?.

I'm afraid there is no API for that. I've been looking for it as well. The issue has been discussed on the java dot net forums also.

DataTable Exception: Invalid operation for the current cursor position
I have a JSF application that lists rows from a view in a SQL Server database. I have set up a commandLinks in an extra columns.
The data is displayed properly, but when I select one of the commandLinks I get the "Invalid operation for the current cursor position" exception.

Looks like some inconsistency in the jsp source:
in the 2nd link the url property is set. I don't think
you need to set this.
I couldn't tell what action you want to occur when you
click. If you want some action to occur such as
navigating to another page then you can use Page Navigation. Then you would need an action handler
for the LinkAction component.

Inserting text into a field at the current cursor position
Does anyone know how to insert text into a field at the current cursor position? I would like it to work similar to the Syntax Palette in Forms. I cannot figure out how to retrieve the current cursor position in order to manipulate the text.
Any help would be great.

If the button and the textfield are on in the same subform then this code should work in the click event of the button
(This is JavaScript code so make sure the code is set to JavaScript and Client on the drop downs in the script window)
(assuming the name of the textfield is TextField1)
TextField1.rawValue = "some value";
If they are in different subforms then you have 2 options
Please note in both these options it is easier if the subforms have names ( I am assuming this to keep samples simple)
option 1 -
use the parent object to move up the tree till you are at the same level as that of the subform that contains the textfield
e.g.
(Click Event of the button)
this.parent.subformname.TextField1.rawValue = "some value";
option 2 -
Use the resolve node to make your way down from the top level of the form
xfa.resolveNode ("form1.subformname.TextField1").rawValue = "some value";

NitinThis has absolutely nothing to do with JMF, and you answered your own question. Take the screenshot and draw a cursor where the cursor should be. BufferedImages are easy to draw on. -
How to get the current cursor position in word report?
I am generating a word report. But I would like to keep the table in one page. However, I did not find the way to do it in labview. Somebody would give me some suggestions? I appreciate a lot.
One way I think I can do is to find the current cursor position. Since I know the table size so I can figure out if the left space in the current page is enough to hold the table. But I do not know how to locate the curent cursor position in word document in labview programmatically. I appreciate any suggestions on this question.

when you insert data in a word document you have to refer to bookmarks rather than cursor position.
If you are using the Report Generation Toolkit for Office it is explained in the manual chapter 3-1.
See also the example: Generate Report From Template (Word).vi included in the toolkit.
If you aren't using the toolkit, you still have to refer to bookmark as reference points to insert and/or fetch data.
The principle is:
- First create a document in which you insert bookmarks where you wish and save it as a template
- In LV open your template document and insert in it your data referring to bookmarks as insertion points
- At the end save your report with another name, so you still have the template

Trouble drawing on saved images in whiteboard, please help!
I use the Image.IO.write(image,"png",file) method to save my whiteboard drawings onto a file and it displays fine when I import it. But when I draw on it it seems some of my whiteboard buttons are "blending in" with the drawing area where the image is. I guess a way to imagine is there is a row of buttons then a panel containing the image. When I draw on the image area the image of the bottons above are mixed in and everything looks bad. Yes, I see the big ugly squares. They are what appears whenever extremely heavy JPEG compression is applied to a low-resolution image tht has relatively large areas of similar colors. Something somewhere is applying such compression to the pages, or portions of them, that you are viewing in your browser(s). Your MBP is not doing that: it can't. Either the page images (or parts of them) are being compressed by the website owners or, if every web page is affected, they are being compressed by your ISP in the process of being transmitted to you, as Gordito suggests. That would greatly increase the speed of page loading, but at the expense of image quality. You wouldn't see the image degradation on an iPhone or cell phone — the screen is too small — but on the MBP's high-resolution display it would be much more apparent, IF the MBP were receiving the signal in the same highly compressed form as the phone. If the MBP receives the same web pages through an ISP that doesn't over-compress them, they'll look the way they ought to look. So if you are receiving these web pages through a cellular ISP rather than through a broadband connection, take the MBP to a wifi hotspot and connect through wifi instead. I bet things will look different then.
Compressing images is something a web browser can't do: a browser just displays the signal that comes to it. -
Problem with Current Tab Image property of tabs
Hello. I am having trouble changing my tab entries to appear as images. When editing a standard tab I went to the section labeled "Images". Then I put values in for "Current Tab Image" and "Non Current Tab Image", and after running the page the images do not appear. The tabs still appear as text. Does anybody know what the problem is?
The paths that I tried to use for the images are:
button.gif
#WORKSPACE_IMAGES#button.gif
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'll explain what needed to be done for those of you that come across the same problem.
I had to edit the Page Template, and go to the section "Standard Tab Attributes". All I had to do was change the text "#TAB_LABEL#" to "#TAB_IMAGE#" -
PSE 6 with Windows 7 - three cursor images
This is a new problem. I have PSE 6 and Windows
7. Everytime I use the move tool, it shows up as three cursor images
on my work page.
To be sure it isn't the combination of the PSE6 with W/7
I downloaded PSE 9 trial.
I am still having the same problem with a fresh new download.
Anyway to correct this?
Other tools look normal on the page.

How should a custom cursor image be constructed?
This relates to Java 1.7_u11 and JFX 2.2.4 on Windows 7 64 bit.
When I set a Node's cursor to Cursor.CROSSHAIR, the crosshair is displayed with complementary colour to its screen background (e.g. black on white, blue on yellow, etc.) However when I construct my own custom crosshair image, 32 pixels square, with transparent-white background pixels and opaque-black crosshair pixels, and create an ImageCursor from it to use as the cursor, it works fine, but always displays as black, irrespective of the background that it's being displayed over. I've tried various ways of creating the image.
So my question is, is there something special about the built-in Cursor images, and how should we emulate it for an ImageCursor? More generally, how does the 'blend mode' for cursor images work?
(Apologies if I'm displaying dismaying ignorance here.)Hrm, I tried Crosshair on my Linux computer with different background fills in Scene and didn't notice any change in color. It was always a cross with white fill and black outline. I wonder if the appearance of certain cursors are OS specific.

Thanks for any help.In Java you need to override the paint method in AWT and paintComponenet method in SWING to do graphics/animation. If you go to an offscreen rendering, then you can paint to the graphics context of an image you use for a drawImage in your paint/paintComponent...
If you where overriding a Panel in AWT you would override paint:
public void paint(Graphics g){
g.drawImage(im, 0, 0, this);
}Then where you are maipulating your graphics you would do something like this:

I have page template as 'One Level Tab with side Bar'.
i have 3 tabs - Home, Master, Transaction.
Now I want a GIF image for Home tab.
I went into the 'home' tab (in shared cmponents) and there in the tab attributes for Images filled the following entries

Image Attributes:
How do I do it.

AmeyaAmeya - I think the page template's current tab/non-current standard tab attributes (sub-templates) must position #TAB_IMAGE# "just so" in that HTML. Having said that, I don't think it's possible to have just one of your tabs use an image and the others not.
Perhaps someone else who has had experience with this will jump in.

I tried to used Image tab for my page and I put "#WORKSPACE_IMAGES#tab01_off.gif" in the Current Tab Image.
But when the page generate, I found out it will auto prefix the img src with /i/ and become /i/wwv_flow_file_mgr.get_file?p_security_group_id=1037921554244471&p_fname=tab01_on.gif, and the image couldn't be displayed.
Is that a bug in Apex?

Yes, I think it is a bug - at least is was as of last year, see: Re: Changing the theme of certain tabs (but not all) On that thread I offer a workaround which involves changing how tabs are rendered - I don't know if you want to go that far, but it may be your only solution for now?

Why can't I draw over imported images?
If someone could explain to me (in simple terms-I've only been using flash since friday and I don't know the names ofthings properly yet) why I can't draw over impoted images? I've animated something on paper and scanned in the frames. When I import them to flash it either deletes the line as soon as I draw it, or if I create a new layer the drawing stays in all frames, not just one. Pllllllease help, I'm desperate!
When you create a new layer, you can use keyframes to display the image in just one frame. Add a keyframe just after the frame where the image should not be displayed. So rightclick in that frame, and click add keyframe. Then in the new keyframe you can remove the image.
I believe you can use Flash to convert bitmap images to vector images, but I haven't used that function since Flash 2, so I don't know if that still exists. The result might be useless though if the images is too complex. But if it's okay, then you can edit the image itself. Otherwise draw on a layer on top of the image. -
How to extract the mouse cursor image without using JNI
I want to get the image of the mouse cursor of the system using java. The Robot class captures the screen only, but the mouse icon image is not the part of the screen, so it is not easily detected. But we can get the mouse cursor position using API, but how to get the exact image icon, without using JNI. I don't want to generate my own cursor at that position.
I am building a Remote Desktop kinda app using java..... I want the screen of the remote comp to be viewed on my screen and generate events from my machine to the remote machine. So, I am capturing the screen images of the remote machine. But the cursor is not part of the screen object. i want to extract the cursor image icon from the remote machine to my machine and render the image.
