Dreamweaver CC tutor wanted in Vancouver BC Canada

I have spent a whole months at about 8 hours a day and 16 hours a day on weekend plus 16 hours a day x 10 full days holiday trying to understand how to work with Dreamweaver CC and I am so frustrated of always seeing these errorssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss ssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss every time I try to do something.  Anyone interested in providing 3 hours solid hands-on lessons?  I would pay good money to anyone in my area to sit down with me and hash out some of the functions.  thanks.

Nancy wrote, "Bugs are not unique to Adobe Dreamweaver"... Nonsense, I say! Use Sublime Text for a week, or a month, and tell us what went wrong. Ditto WIndows Notepad, if you want really hardcore easy coding.
Dec 4, just 6 days before your post, I got off the line with one of Adobe's senior programmers, managing a Dreamweaver Engineering Team.  He had no objections to my posting factual [guiding] material in such posts as this one... So here we go!
Open your eyes and observe a new, global digital network.
Now, there are so many "bugs" for the EFI/UEFI based Windows 8.1 64 bit operation of DW CC, that it is effectively inoperable for certain tasks, and for some old and valued Adobe customers, it is useless today. "Especially where web design is mission critical." Today. When you use it on new hardware, DW will crash and/or damage your software system's data. "The entire Dreamweaver Team at Adobe is doing everything they can", to pick up and move on. They have NOT given up. Everyone using the product is (naturally) sending usage data to Adobe. The Team is aware of everything that is going wrong.
Wherein, "All our efforts are going into the new 64-bit version."... Presently, bugs are devouring the carcass of 32 bit Dreamweaver CC, as far as the new EFI 64 Windows 8 machines are concerned. But some things still work. Most importantly, Adobe is paying professional programmers to fix what's wrong, and build something that works. Post threads like Hang/Freeze (http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1249157) are entirely discouraging. But realistic. In Vancouver, Dreamweaver night school classes would be an endangered species. If not extinct.
However, in addition to Sublime http://www.sublimetext.com (versioning and code block juggling), Oracle has http://www.netbeans.org (fava development) which comes right from the horse's proverbial mouth, for free! Then there's http://brackets.io/ (whatever) and http://www.webuilderapp.com (code formatting) and http://www.coffeecup.com/software/ (pokearound moods) and last for now, but way ahead in usability (some may say), the little known http://pinegrow.com (amazing, you Adobe builders! though that demo crash kind of says it all). Here, if you are still in time http://www.mightydeals.com/deal/pinegrow-web-designer.html. There are dozens of more reliable newborn alternat ives, all picking up a piece of useful functionality... Okay, one more for you developers out there, from ComCast's screencast, JING! http://www.techsmith.com/jing.html which you can turn your also free Netbean on, and build a cute site app (for all you hollywood type coders out there, lush). So many insanely beautiful tools!
A piece of the functionality... Gone are the days of a single muti-faceted tool. But Adobe does PROMISE functionality in workflow that is distinguishing. The old DW will not survive, it is leaving us, along with new Web Matrix and SQL Sharepoint. Adobe is building something new, more secure, more versatile. DW continues to house some of that new direction. Even if we end users can't see it there, we can feel it. So some of us hang on with hope in our hearts.
Sure DW's going to smash the OS. But let's get those files published in a 100% effective FTP environment offered by DW CC. We can have a cup of coffee after, while Windows reinstalls. For those not aware, the new EFI machines can boot in under 1 second and install Windows 8.1 in 5 minutes. DW install is slowed by a dl and takes an horrendous 20 minutes, but an Adobe Team is working on that too (it all comes down to encryption).
Let's recall as we sip, Microsoft's flagship editor Expression Web is falling out of support next month, May 2014. With no replacement in sight. Last month, EW's CSS3 preview became like Adobe's Live Java... NOT! Let's get real. Concerned words from W3C over rapid change, now Wiki dust and the thrill forgotten for most developers. Devicing is the big thing today, which even Orable hasn't got a firm grip on. Each manufacturer is going open source with its own new App language. Let's look over a rash of alternatives that are no longer toys. Let's fill up our tool boxes with loads of goodies, Okay! Don't forget CREATIVE CLOUD! HTTPS://CREATIVE.ADOBE.COM/PRODUCTS
DW is no longer a leading editor. DW, like EW, is just another tool for the toolbox. Each of us, on our own machines, has to decide what is worthy of a setup, each time installs roll around... Sadly, DW and EW are both no longer leading edge tools. But frankly, that leading edge software niche these days, is a BIG, BLANK HOLE. Time to let go. Inclusively.
Adobe and Microsoft are both saving bullion and watching, waiting. Given kind words shared here with professionals from both corporations, I don't see anything coming. The toolmakers are watching, evolving. It's not time yet to consolidate. Tomorrow.
Please don't ask me what's coming. So much change is afoot! Now, Asia's market is pushing in on Empire's old footholds. For a month now, if I am online and call my wife in Asia, and her cell is by her landline there, my Net and her cell both cut out. But GET THIS CLEAR. My web design PC has no Wifi. But my PC is hardwared to the non-wifi printer and to the wifi modem. Don't forget, with my wife gone, there's no cell phone here! Wife's Mac does wifi, and it's wifi'd to the web, which is hardwired (through my PC, remember) to the non-wifi printer, which is off, but plugged in, its teeny node light blinkering with the Mac, BESIDE THE WIRELESS LANDLINE UNITS THAT BLINK WHEN THEY ARE IN USE. Unplug printer, or power off sleeping Mac, problem solved. Cell in Asia and my Net, both start working again. Other EASY!!! fix, move the cell away from the landline in Asia. See, easy fix. We all understand, right?
At least, we understnd why buggy new tech has all of us scrambling and hacking around like teens on hormone buzzers. So take a deep breath, reflect on whatever factual duress your family is going through today. Finally, read again, kindly dear reader, quotes above, words in bold spoken by programming for Adobe, the only major Web author still standing. Take it easy folks. Tool up!
Hope this all helps.
Not sure, but I think Intel's response to EFI is big (somehow). My CPU is screaming and cold at the same time. Weird new technology. Message was edited by: Mark.Stewart

Very bad practice to just use image slices into your website.

  • Time Capsule in Vancouver, BC, Canada

This is getting ridiculous. I'm living in Vancouver, Canada and I still can't get a time capsule. We have no Apple Store, so we have to rely on Futureshop and Best Buy. They still have none 1 month after the US release.
I feel like living in **** south pole, but only about 100 miles away from the border. This is ridiculous.
Apple, you have to do something about Canada. No iPhone, no Time Capsule, I'm about to just change all my setting, throw my Macbook Pro, my Mac Pro, my apple tv and replace it for PCs. At least I won't have to wait forever to spend my money and get geek tools.
C'mon, it's totally ridiculous. I think it's time to wake up and take care of the 30 millions canadians up there.

Wait just a tad little longer. Apple Store is coming to Vancouver and will be located at Pacific Centre mall in downtown. I'm looking forward to visiting the store. My sister works in downtown and she often likes to browse the two major Mac stores there. I think she'll enjoy a visit at a proper Apple store. They are quite an experience offering lectures, demonstrations and all sorts of fun things for people to browse.

  • Is there database integration for dreamweaver?  I want a template that will personalize each of my teams website.

I want to be able to use this website, [link removed by moderator] for my team members so they can have their own urls, email addresses, particular text, and images.
Front page did this years ago.  Does dream weaver have this built in?

    Hi Ben,
Kind response, but the other responses that tend to be insulting remind me of how great success, can deliver me from having to resort to cheap help!
I cut and pasted this this historical fact from a website that supports my statement, "The FrontPage 2003 page editor is better than ever, and supports all kinds of drag-and-drop items that greatly simplify creating and using Web forms and updating databases."[emphasis added] source Frontpage history I used front page with a database program in the 90's.
So becauseI used Front page, and word, for that matter, back in the 90's to creat forms from a database, I thought something similar may exist for dreamweaver.  For instance, I could make a letter and a database from a spread sheet would place the form in ms works or word in brackets, as I recall {user name} something like that.  Front page did the same.  So I could build one web template, and instead of the tedious job of going to each link and putting in someone elses personal info, URL's, emails the data base fields would be in place to hold the url for the specific user name, and the web site could be changed instantly to allow the user the same template html website.
So I fearlessly exposed my curiosity to ask the question and lo and behold, I drew out some subhuman types that typically even genetically tend to join Nazi party events.  Is there a higher quality, not superior race where I can get some humane comments? or has graphic communication and arts joined the dregs of society?
Golly g sociopaths in an adobe forum taunting could-be idiots, what a nice crowd!  Even if I appear to be retarded to some of you, didn't mommy tell you pointing out that stuff was rude?
Get a job as a cop! I got my hands up, please don't shoot me! lol

  • I want to make a new site in dreamweaver and host it on business cstalyst

I want to make a NEW site in Dreamweaver CC and host it on the Business Catalyst platform. But it seems the only way to use dreamweaver in business Catalyst is to import a BC template into Dreamweaver then upload it to BC. I want to create an original site and use the BC platform, is that possible? This seems like it should be simple and automatic, even encouraged. But as of now the only way to create an original site is to use Adobe Muse. Which is weird, seems like Adobe missed this one somewhere...

I don't think you understand: I want to open Dreamweaver and build a brand new site, then when I am done I want to host the dreamweaver site on the Business Catalyst platform. I dont want to use anything in BC to build the site, I just want to use the hosting platform. I do not want to import a BC site into dreamweaver or anything like that. I just want to use BC the same way I would use godaddy, or uhost or any other hosting provider. Based on your response you said that "of course its possible to build a BC site in Dreamweaver" I dont want to build a BC site, I want to build a Dreamweaver site and host it on the BC platform. Like I said before it doesnt seem like this is possible. As of now we can only build a new site in MUSE and integrate it into BC without using a BC template. Can you understand what I am saying. I DONT WANT TO USE A BC TEMPLATE, I WANT NOTHING TO DO WITH BC WHILE I AM BUILDING THE SITE WITH DREAMWEAVER, JUST LIKE MUSE DOES.
